Whitewave,

I am 52 and have also been married for 32 years. I started off at 105 lbs and got up to 218 and am now down to 168.  My goal is to reach 140.

Please do not get discouraged! Look for exercise in everything you do from lifting a detergent box while in the laundry room to using hand weights while watching tv.

Do squats while waiting for the oven to pre-heat or torso twists during commercials. Keep busy everyday and you will soon be a leaner and healthier you!

Good luck.

Went to a cook-out this past week-end and saw many friends that haven't seen me since I've lost 50 pounds, cut my hair and high-lighted it.

My husband was asked where I was and when he pointed me out, his friend couldn't believe it was me.  This ws the ah-ha moment I had dreamed about where someone would not recognize me.   YEAH!!!!!!

I know I tend to want to stop trying but then I remember the last 14 months and there is no way that I can go back to where I was.

The hard work has paid off as my last physical came back with perfect scores. No medicine for me or drastic life style changes.

Wishing you the best of luck.

When I told my physician that I had hit a plateau after losing 50 pounds even though I was still watching my intake and excersing 3-4 times a week, he told me to pick one day a month and eat whatever I wanted. This would trick my body into thinking it was going to start getting fed large portions and then the metabolism would kick in.

After a fifty pound weight loss (I am 5'2"), I was walking down a hall and a co-sorker yelled at me to stop and turn around. She wanted to see if I had lost as much in front as I had in the back.

I was sooooo happy I hugged her!
