I went to Japan a few years ago and one of the foods I miss is Tonkatsu or fried pork cutlet. This was the most amazing pork I have ever tasted! I have no idea the calorie content of it, but as far as taste goes... delicious! For activities, one thing that was kind of out of my comfort zone to do but was absolutely amazing was going to an Onsed (spelling could be off here...) or a hot spring. You have to go nude, but I went to an all woman one and it was so relaxing and my skin felt so soft afterward! Also, I agree with alibsam. It was very expensive for me when I went, and shockingly a lot of my money went to traveling while in Japan. Even still, it was one of the most amazing trips of my life and I hope you have a great time!

| Health & Support | PMDD | May 07 2009 01:44 (UTC) |

I was diagnosed with PMDD back in February and my Dr put me on Yaz. I have noticed a HUGE improvement in my life! I really recommend what some other posters have said about keeping a mood journal. That will help you and your Dr so much in realizing if you have PMDD or if there is something else going on with you. I noticed for myself that my symptoms would last a few days after my period ended, which my Dr told me still indicates PMDD. As far as improving your relationships with your friends, there are a lot of websites out there on PMDD. There were a few that I looked at when I was looking for answers that had dialogue starters for how to discuss your PMDD with your friends and explain to them what is happening in your body. The dialogue was very in depth, giving lots of suggestions on what to say if they react with anger or just can't understand what is going on. I don't remember which websites I looked at (sorry I really wish I had some links for you!) but I would search online and see what resources you can find. There really is a lot of helpful information out there on how to repair your relationships. |

Original Post by safina1: I have noticed the same thing for me. I'm 26, 166 lbs, 5'4" and wear an 11/12 pant size. I thought my scale was off for a while but I was the same weight when I went to the dr. I think it's just what everyone else has been saying, it depends on how you carry your weight. I usually get it in my thighs and butt, however lately it's been going to my tummy. Probably why the scales went up but the pants didn't!

| Health & Support | what an artificial mess! | Oct 21 2008 14:50 (UTC) |

The problems you are having from the gum might not be the sweeteners in it. I was having some digestive problems when I was younger and I was addicted to chewing gum! My Dr. told me to stop chewing the gum because you swallow a lot more air when you chew gum and that can add to stomach pains and gas. I do think moving away from the artificial sweeteners is a good idea though. My sister is a Dr. of chemistry and is always telling me about how they change into these different things in your body which don't sound very pleasant. |

Original Post by lilreenz: I have found Pilates to help a lot with my posture. Now when I sit at a chair that has no back I sit upright instead of slouching over. If you don't like the idea of Pilates though just focus on strengthening your core muscles, that will help with holding yourself upright. |

I ran my first 5k in June. I came in at 45 mins, I was hoping for 40 but the weather was in the 100s and made it very hard not to get over heated! I was happy though because I made my goal of 40-45 mins. |

| Motivation | Anyone else just quit smoking recently? | Apr 01 2008 18:57 (UTC) |
|
I know what you mean. I quit smoking a year and a half ago and noticed I could taste and smell everything better. I had the same issue with wanting to eat so what I did is, whenever I felt stressed and like I wanted to eat when I wasn't hungry I would take a 5-10 min walk outside, just however long I needed to calm the urge! I also drank a lot of water and kept myself busy so I wouldn't have too much time to think about food. And congrats with quiting smoking!! |

Original Post by storyofagirl10: I just bought TJ's Garlic Hummus and I love it! I haven't tried too many of the other flavors but this one is great. Be sure to have a mint ready after eating it though. |

| The Lounge | IQ Tests | Feb 18 2008 22:09 (UTC) |

| In college psychology was my area of study and I remember my professor explaining to me one day why IQ tests really cannot be universally reliable. To start with, there is no one IQ test that is the standard test so there are many that are created. Each test can focus on different parts of the IQ, spatial reasoning, memory, science, etc... The reason your test was lower was probably because the second one was aiming for a different emphasis than the first one. This does not mean you have a low IQ at all. The closest to a universal test is, if I can remember the name right, the MNMIR or something like that, it has been many years since college for me! |

| I would recommend the Fiber One Chocolatey Bars, they are high in fiber and vitamins but taste like they are some very fatty chocolate dessert. Only 140 calories too and filling!! | |||
