| Cathe Friedrich has great strength dvd's. Depending on your fitness level, she has some geared more toward beginners and some very advanced dvd's. It can be painful, but I love her Power Hour dvd, as well as Push/Pull and Supersets (those are all probably considered intermediate). She also has a couple of series for heavy lifting, but I'm not really into that. You can read descriptions of her dvd's at her site cathe.com.
I also have the Get Ripped dvd from Jari Love. It's a lot of fun too. Not as hard as Cathe, but good for a beginner/intermediate. I think it's good to have a few different workouts to work out different muscles in different ways. |

| Fitness | Has anyone tried Slim In Six??? | Mar 31 2006 14:08 (UTC) |

| I also have the slim in 6 dvd's and I like them.
I did a rotation that included them for the first 6 weeks of my diet, etc. I didn't do it everyday, I did it 3 times a week. It is a good total body workout with cardio. I also did other cardio on other days. I was just starting to get back in to working out and I wasn't quite ready for my Cathe strength dvd's. I wouldn't recommend doing them every day like they suggest, but it is a good workout and can be included in a rotation. And I lost weight and gained some muscle while doing them. I will probably do a rotation including them again before summer because they really work the abs. |

| Fitness | How often should I change workout rotation? | Feb 08 2006 16:39 (UTC) |

| Thanks for the suggestions. I think I'm going to try a 4-week rotation, with each 4-week rotation getting harder (more aerobic conditioning and more strength). I am sometimes impatient and do too much too soon. Before, I ended up with knee pain or back pain and had to back off. This time, I'm keeping it challenging, but safe, and just trying to up the intensity and/or duration as I can handle more. And at this point I'm doing mostly low-impact aerobic work to protect my joints. So far, I feel great. I am just starting my second 4-week rotation where I'm adding tougher weight workouts and more intense cardio. I lost 10 pounds in my first 4 weeks, so I want to keep it up. | |||
