For my wedding, the groomsmen had tuxedos with colored ties and vests, and the dads had the same tuxedoes, but with black ties and vests. When you take formal pictures, you will take photos of just the groom and his family, so you want everyone to look nice together. |

| Foods | Packaged Apple Slices? | May 26 2009 03:04 (UTC) |

I agree with....EVERYONE
Personally, I would just buy a whole apple and shove it in my bag, because its just as portable and easy to eat as a bag of slices. I think the slices only trump when they come with a little container of caramel. Now, can we all agree that an apple tastes pretty damn good with caramel? Let the caramel unite us, people! |

I was trying to be strong and not buy any, but I had Easter brunch and was too stuffed to eat dessert. We went to CVS pharmacy to buy a soda on the way home and I was like " I need a white chocolate peanut butter filled easter bunny" of course, it was a ghetto CVS and didn't have one, so I settled for a few cadbury eggs, a regular, a caramel, and an orange cream. They were delicious, and its not like you can get them anytime you want, so that was my reasoning. |

Hi and Good Luck
My best advice is if you can't find a food you eat alot of in the listings, add it yourself for the first day, and then make sure you tag it.

What you could try is to make the items your using tagged items, which means you would have to enter each of them individually once.
The recipe tool does recognice the user item number of everything in its database, including tagged items that could be things you entered yourself. you just have to put the item in as the number, which is part of the web address. look at the web address when your on the tagged items page and you will see it
sorry if this sounds confusing |

| Health & Support | eating after being fed through IV for three days.. | Aug 14 2008 05:51 (UTC) |
7 |
Ok An "IV" is an intravenous catheter. It depends on what kind of fluid they decide to give you. It will be some sort of saline solution. Some of them have dextrose in them. As you are having surgery, and will not be eating, you will probably have one with dextrose. Dextrose is a sugar. That means this IV will have calories in it, but it is not for sustenance, its simply to make sure your blood sugar does not drop too drastically while your not eating or drinking. You will probably not be getting a PICC line, because you are only going to be in the hospital a short period of time for your surgery, and a PICC line is only necessary if you have bad veins and they can't get a regular IV, or if you will be given certain antibiotics. Any kind of tube feeding they will give you would be for nutrition/sustenance purposes. If you will be allowed to have liquids by mouth soon after your surgery ( most surgeries its the same day or next day ), then you will most likely not need tube feeding, which would most likely be through a tube in your nose. The hospital will determine your diet after surgery. Usually, you will be given clear liquids first. This is broth, jell-o, apple juice, ice pops. If you tolerate them well, they will either allow you to move on to full liquids ( cream soups, milk, etc. ) or regular food. Its always a good idea for your first regular food meal after fasting to keep it fairly small and bland. It would be highly unlikely that you would gain weight while in the hospital. Good Luck! |

8/4/08 was 6 months of no smoking for me. It really does make you feel better, and I crave it alot less than I thought I would. I want to smoke sometimes when I see someone smoking on tv/in a movie but it goes away alot faster. I have been sick (just common colds) twice since quitting, and I was sick for less time, and didn't have horrible retching coughing fits like I used to every time I was sick. It's great!
Good Luck |

Personally, I use the Depo Provera birth control, I love it and I don't get a period so I don't have to worry about what goes in my pikachu. Please do not quote my post and talk to me about putting hormones into my body. I love it and will use it for as long as I can. I haven't had a period in years and it is F*^%!*g fabulous! |

| Vegetarian | ok, i am a vegan now...what happens to my old leather purses, shoes,... | Aug 06 2008 06:48 (UTC) |

If your not concerned as much about the price difference, you could try going on a site like craigslist.com and trading your leather goods for non leather goods, or selling yours and buying other stuff. Its not hard to find "pleather" or pvc handbags. I love my croco-embossed bag that I got at Target for $14.95 and its huge! ( not cause I'm vegan, just poor. If I had the money, I would have my dream Dooney & Bourke croco-leather bag that costs $500. Sorry veggie-monkeys! ) Plenty of dress shoes at Payless are made from synthetic leather, and plenty of sneakers are made from canvas. You will probably save money buying non-leather actually. Good Luck! |

You should do/eat whatever YOU feel is ok. There are so many kinds of vegan/vegetarian because different people want to do different things. If you thought it was really bad, you probably wouldn't have asked, so just do what feels ok to you. Some people would say wasting food is just as bad as killing animals to eat.
Good Luck |

Original Post by jblarghp: I think when people say "oh we met online" they think you had like, a 3 year online relationship, then met in person. I responded to my husband's online personal ad, he emailed me ONCE a few days later , we talked on AIM for a few hours one night, then moved to the phone the same night, then met the next day for a date ( in very public places - a bowling alley and an Applebee's lol ) Our entire "online encounter" lasted less than a week. After that, it was the same as if we had been set up by friends, or exchanged numbers in a bar or something.

| Weight Loss | Need help with 1,200 calorie/day foods! | Aug 03 2008 06:04 (UTC) |

Try this lunch, its alot of little things so it feels like more, but its filling for less than 300 cals - canned chicken breast ( i buy big cans at sam's club, so its however much 120 cals of chicken is ) mixed with 2 tbsp reduced fat mayo and McCormick Grill Seasonings Montreal Chicken ( the seasoning makes it taste like real grilled chicken, I think ) * 150 calories *
- 5 Laughing Cow Gourmet Cheese Bites * 35 calories * - 100 calorie pack of Cheetos/Doritos/whatever *100 calories (duh) *
All together only 295, but when you eat it, it feels like alot more. You can make the salad heartier by adding celery, onion, etc. for negligible calories, or making it into lettuce wraps. Its alot of little things so it feels like more than just a sandwich. Its like subbing the bread for a sandwich with the 100 cal pack, so it takes longer to eat, so it feels like more
Good Luck |

Pickles and Sauerkraut. If I make a boca burger, I have sauerkraut as the side dish, and its only like 25 cals for a third of a can. I usually have some canned chicken with red. fat mayo, 1 or 2 pickles, laughing cow bites, and a 100 cal pack of cheetos for lunch, and its only like, 275 for the whole thing - very tasty too, and its lots of little things so it feels like your eating more. |

| Health & Support | Donating blood | Aug 02 2008 17:11 (UTC) |
|
Original Post by absterry: You are a selfish idiot. "Unless its for a family member, Im keeping my blood." - Unless your family member is having a scheduled surgery or is in the hospital for a really long time and needs multiple transfusions, you wouldn't be able to donate for them. If, for example, you or your family member got into a car accident, or became anemic, or had some sort of blood loss, you can't donate and have the person get it the same day. In emergencies you would have to use "volunteer" blood from the blood bank of the hospital. So you wouldn't donate, but I'm sure if you got into a car accident and needed surgery and a transfusion, you would take it, wouldn't you?
I have donated whole blood, plasma, platelets, and red cells. Now I usually donate a double unit of platelets. The risk of anything happening to me is so so small compared to how many people's LIVES I might have SAVED. Its an amazing feeling to think you might have actually SAVED someone's life!

I met my husband on a "geek personals" site. We have been together for 5 years now. Its funny because we work together now, and most people who don't know how we met think we met at our job. He is the third person I dated that I met online. When you tell people, EVERYONE has a "Oh, my sister/friend/hairdresser/dogwalker met her husband online!" story. The first guy I dated that I met online was 7 years ago when I was 18, and it was more taboo or weird back then.
Save yourself time and hassle tho... if your a chunky monkey, use BBW dating sites, or tell the guy upfront. Don't put just that one picture of you in the really good lighting up where you can't see your double chin and hope for the best. My husband was a twig when we started dating. The site I met him on had no pics, so as soon as we talked and he sent me one, i immediately told him that I was fat. Ironically, we both thought we looked much better in person than in the pics. |

I'm not a vegetarian. I like meat. I think if chickens were bigger and smarter, they would eat us.
No offense, but where are your morals and compassion for our poor little fishy friends? I mean, as a non-vegetarian, I don't understand the difference. If you don't want to eat meat because you don't like it, then , hey, thats cool, I don't like asparagus. However, if your eating fish, the chicken isn't that much higher up on the "brains" scale |

| As I read through this thread, I was like "Yeah, I like all those foods...but what would be my favorite?" Then I saw the first post that said Cinnabon. I literally had one of those light bulbs go off above my head, and I think I might have started drooling. MMMmmm regular Cinnabon with extra icing. But of course, Cinnabons are dessert. So, my entree comfort food would probably be a 2lb block of cheddar lol. | |||

Original Post by theluckiest: I totally relate to your post. My brother in law's girlfriend is literally about 100 pounds. She is nice though, so thats good. If you look at my profile, you will see I actually don't mind being fat, and some people in my family are fat too, but NOONE is fat in my husband's family except like, his 65 year old uncle, so that doesn't count. Plus, my husband was 6' 170lbs when we met, now he is 220, so I feel like his mom thinks its my fault he is fat ( couldn't be the McDonalds gift cards she has bought him every single Christmas since he was a kid, or the fact that he turned 28 and his metabolism slowed down |

| I work 3pm-11pm, so I hate to cook when I get home from work. On my days off, I make super easy recipes, all with less then like, 10 ingredients. I separate them into single serving size Tupperware, and stick them in the freezer. I also buy Lean Cuisines, like others have suggested. That way, I always have something to make, and making 6-8 servings at a time once a week is alot easier than making one meal every night. Some easy things to try that freeze well are beef stew, stir fry, even Hamburger Helper made with Ground Turkey and 1% milk. | |||
