1) I definitely don't think i've been undereating, 2) I've definitely gained some weight in muscle (i notice i'm a lot more toned but my measurements are the same 3) on days that I eat around 1200, i notice my weight finally shifts back down - is it possible that since every body is different, that 1200 - 1300 is my magic number?

i need to eat 1800 to maintain, but i've been eating 15-1600 for about a month - so if i cut down my maintenance by 500-700 cals it ends up being 11-1300

I just finished reading this book and (not that i was eating a lot of fake food before) after making sure to eat real whole foods with meat as more of a side dish, I lost 2 pounds after 2 days

thanks! the first 7 were because i went from working 9-5 with a bowl of candy on my desk to going back to grad school - so I was busier and walked around the city more, eating only at mealtime - the last 8 came from taking spinning classes 4-6 times a week and eating 12-1400 calories/day (AND making sure not to cheat!) - so now I am back to my high school weight (and a size 4) - i think the biggest weight loss boost i got was from increasing the activity and watching what i ate, but definitely not depriving myself of any type of food

nevermind! I found out what was wrong: 1) i was cheating and neglected to log every piece of candy that I eat throughout the day at work (my estimate was 50 it turned out to be 200 cals) and 2) it was my TOM and I usually gain 2lbs of water weight with that....SO now that I'm not cheating, I should hopefully be back to normal!

so lets say i dont work out one day - that's 1180 calories - is that too few?

does that make sense that I will lose weight if I eat more than I did to go from 138-132 lbs? because 12-1300 was the magic range from 138-132 and the only thing that has changed is the frequency of my workouts. Could it be that because I work out less I'm retaining more water?

i recently switched from yasmin (i was on it for 5 years) to yaz and coincidently gained 4 pounds - however, i think it was coincidental because I started losing weight recently and have gotten down to a lower weight than I had while taking yasmin (without trying any harder) - if you are concerned with it though, you might want to try the nuvo ring which only releases hormones where you need them rather than throughout your whole body

good ideas thanks - no i eat real food - lean meats veggies and lots of fruit - i love the taste of real food too much to eat fat free sugar free "diet" food!

yeah its definitely not a fear of gaining weight - i love food - the problem is that my stomach is sensitive to high-fat food - i feel so nauseated after I eat it - plus im genuinely full  - i think maybe my body got used to eating 1,000 a day.  anothe rproblem is i try not to have snack foods in the house b/c i could eat an entire box of wheat thins in one sitting. maybe i'll eat more sauces...

i used to do that but i would plan my binge for days - i designated wednesday as "eat whatever you want for dinner" days but would eat half of my daily calories sunday-tuesday, and wednesday barely ate anything until dinner. It worked in terms of weight loss but it was so unhealthy (mentally too). eventually i realized i'd rather eat healthy 7 days a week than plan every bite that went into my mouth. the guilt about eating so badly was enough to make me think twice about my next binge - now i keep them to once a month (unplanned) which won't derail  my diet
