U're not supposed to fast before the glucose test. U cant eat / drink anything after u drink the liquid so thats only for 1 hr. Otherwise, you should go about ur day as you normally would. If u dont, the results wont be accurate since they need to see how your body processes sugar on any typical day |

Thanks amethystgirl I went to the site and it gave me pretty much same thing as the BMR on here. The doctor's office machine seemed a little weird to me as well. 1500/d is still to little even with no activity. That would mean a pretty strict everyday diet not to gain any weight.

Well the machine doesnt account for that. But when I set it up here, I tried both, no activity and very light and even with no activity I still get 1800 cals which is also about 300-350 higher.

You should bring a healthy snack with you. A fruit would do a trick, its sweet but still great for you and most people wont comment on it |

HI girls, how r u? :) I've been sick all week so no gym ((((( I'm really trying to be good with food so i think so far so good. On my home scale even saw 146 this weekend ))))) before lowest that one got to was 146.5. Need to get better and get my behind to the gym only I wont have time for that now bc Thur I'm leaving for vacation (whoooo-hooooo!!!!!!) so need to pack elovinus - way to go with the trainer!!!!!!!! I wish I could get a deal like that. Its definately a plus to have a trainer for the first few sessions to show you what to do so when you go alone later on, u know what to do. I'd love to do that but my gym charges waaayyyyy too much for that :( valerieeee - hope you grandma is OK |

HI girls... i'm still here :):):):) sorry didnt post for a while but i got sick :( so no gym for the past few days, but thank god, so far my home scale still says my original weight. Contragts Jelly!!!!! 2 lbs is really good, keep up the good work and dont worry about the flu. It'll be over before u know it and u'll be back to your usual routine. Valerie - congrats on the gym job!!!! that must be pretty cool, just seing all the machines and people exercising and being there must be motivating, and way to go on the 150lb!!!! My weight isnt comming off as fast as I'd hoped but I definately see the difference and other people see it and I'm not really limiting myself in anything or killing myself at the gym. I definately see the change in my daily diet and try to be as good as I can, but if I really want something, I eat it and just get over it. So hopefully I'll be able to loose a few more lbs but I'm definately already happy with my results :) Keep up the good work!!!!!

Hi everyone Congrats whsthatlady!!!! Well I did get to the gym on 10/1 and was 151 :( But went yesterday and was 148.5 :):):):):). I was stuck at 150-151 for like a month. So goal is still same - 145 by Nov 1st, maybe by some miracle i'll get to it ))))) |

Hi girls I've been not that good last week and weekend. Had a wedding this sunday and ate NON STOP and last week also ate a lot :=( Dont know what my gym scale will show today, havent been in the gym all weekend or yest. My home digital scale has been showing between 147-148 and last week it went up to 149 but on Sat it was 146.5 - the lowest EVER. Sunday it showed same ))) and today it was 147 so I'm really curious to get to the gym scale. This week will be a bad week though, I can feel it. Im fasting from Wed evening to Thur evening so def no gym Wed or Thur and THur night going out to big dinner after the fast and I KNOW i'll be eating a lot and then wont get to the gym till probably next Monday ((( Have another wedding on Sat and sister's bday on Sun ((( This is getting reallly annyoing b/c its totaly killing my diet and gym effort :( Oh well... hopefully all parties will be over soon |

Hi girls Mine was actually pretty good. Fri night had some bad thai food with cheesecake but not too much and sat and sun ate pretty good. Sun also went to the gym. Im not seing any weight loss on the scale but I'm not stressing over it. I see that I'm eating much healthier than before and very rarely have sweets and exercise so I'm happy overall, and if more weight comes down, then good :) Except that today's isnt going that well lolol I had half a chocolate muffin for bkfast and had burrito at lunch and no gym tonight. Got to be good at night at home ))) |

Congrats Jelly!!! I dont this I will be seing any change this week. Im getting mad though bc i know i eat enouch calories. Between all my snaks (lately i've started to eat almonds at work) and the bad dinner I made at home, I'm definately eating enough calories and I've been going to the gym at least 3 times a week, if not 4 :(:(:(:( I did see a change in my home digital scale though this morning, actually past 2 days. It says 147, and before the lowest it ever showed was 147.5 and like 148-149 over the last weekend. Hopefully I'll go to the gym tomorrow and get on the original scale :) However, I did take out my winter pants already and I had these 3 pairs of same pants in different colors that I didnt wear last winter bc they were too tight and they're fine now. So that makes me happy :) Good luck with another weekend everyone. I think this one will be slow for me, no b-days thank god!!! :D |

HI chelslaw1984 I personally think you need more cardio - thats the only way to loose weight. 30 mins is good for maintenance, but to loose, I'd do an hr of cardio and then some weight training. At least thats what I do. Eat less carbs, especially at night and try to cut the snaks. I also always need something in the evening so I buy fruits and drink fruity tea at night ))) Before I HAD to have chocolate after lunch AND dinner and it killed me if I didnt have it and in the evening I'd always have it with hot tea. When summer started, I stopped drinking hot tea and also the chocolate. Now I dont have it at all, at least not at home during the week. I have a HUGE sweet tooth so if I'm out somewhere and we're having desert, I eat it, but at home, I dont eat sweets at all. Also, I buy fat free ice cream and have a few spoons of that. 1/2 cup is like 80-90 cals and I do that only on the weekend if I have dinner at home so I know it doesnt really kill me and it actually tasted pretty good. Hope this helps but generally I'd up the cardio and cut carbs b/c that really is the only way to loose weight |

Hi girls THERMAL - I'm the same way - need to get on the scale whenever i see it. I have one at home but i'm trying to stay away from it as well. :) Its great that you see a change in clothes. Measuring urself is a great idea. I did it once a while ago, before starting the diet and gym but lost that paper, but i definately see the weight loss :D JELLYBELLY & VALERIE - i know how hard it is to keep up the gym when u're in school. I gained like 10 lbs while i was in school bc i had absolutely no time to go to the gym. I worked full time and had classes 3 times a week after work. Just try to do what you can and dont stress over it. School is definately more important so just go when you can and eat healthy. |

Hi girls, how was your weekend?? How did u all do? I thought I'd be much worse actually. Fri did very good all day (no going out to eat lol), Sat went out to restaurant with family for bday and actually ate pretty well and Sun went to another bday party and also ate pretty good except for some cake, but thats OK valerieeee - dont get discourages. I really dont think you gained 3lbs in one meal. Our body does really weird stuff so I didnt even bother to weigh myself this morning (after the cake night lol) Just keep up the healthy food and exercising. Unfortunaly its not easy to loose weight so we just have to keep on eating healthy. I'm also kinda glad the weekend is over, now back to the gym and no dinners out ))) |

jellybelly7 - a pound is still great. thats the healty weight loss. i'd probably stick it out a little longer and if you see no weight loss, then change the diet. also, for me personally, i know i eat about 1200-1400 cals a day and burn about 500-600 when i go to the gym so my defecit it pretty big, but the weekends make up for it :D. So i'd just stick it out a little longer. |

Hi girls jellybelly7 - home made pizza - YUMM!!!! You should take a day off, your body needs to rest. Now that summer's over and there's no more beach, I want to do cardio / weights Mon, Tue, Thur & Sat, then yogga on Wed and rest Fri and Sun. valerieeee - dont worry about the extra .5lb. The weight fluctuates so just keep you the healthy eating and exercising. We'll all get there :) Your meal at the restaurant was good (I didnt even know they could make it grilled lol) and you only had half so thats awsome!!! thermal - I love it when i feel sore after the gym, I feel like I definately did someting right. Im trying to work more on my arms and legs now so I did my arms on Tue and still feel a little sore. I'm thinking of getting a trainer to show me good routines for my legs and arms and then just doing it myself.

Hi girls... so far so good :) and should be good at night. no bad food at home actually, thank god ))) jellybelly7 - i have to say i got much better with sweets. before i was dying if i didnt have chocolate after lunch and dinner lol. Summer cleaning is great, as long as you're moving around and not just sitting on the couch in front of tv, its ALL GOOD!!! :) valerieeee - way to go!!!!!!! keep up the good work, also a suggestion for eating out - whatever you order, right away ask for an extra plate and put half of your meal away and take it home. the portions are sooooo huge everywhere so half is more than enough thermal - dont get discouraged, just keep on doing what you do and you'll def see a result, hopefully sooner than later :) I'm also kinda upset actually, i dont see any change since last week and i really dont think anything will be diff on thursday (thats the day i log in my weight ) :(:(:( oh well... just gotta keep on doing it Keep up the good work everyone!!!

Jelly - i know EXACTLY what you mean about the weekends (((( i do same. I eat very good mon - thur and go to the gym and then fri - sun come and i kill all the hard work i put in during the first 4 days (((((( and if thats not bad enough, i got bday parties / weddings every weekend till mid of october so that will def ruin all my hard work. i guess i need to execise as much as possible to compensate for the outings. on the good note... i went to the gym today and did a full hr on the treadmill. i didnt run all the time but did either running or fast walk so i feel great!!! i've NEVER done this before lolol i could soo go for somethig sweet right now but thank god i dont have anything at home :)

Hi girls Weekend was OK, fri night had some sushi (as always) and then went out with friends to a seafood place and only had one crabcake )))) so super proud of myself. Did pretty good on sat and kinda ok on sunday but no gym. Definately going tonight through Wed and hopefully Thur also so I'd really like to see a change in the weight. My aunt saw me last night and said that she sees the loss. Its really only a few lbs but its definately motivating )))) Hope we all do good this week :) |

I havent lost anything in the past week :( Last thursday I was 150 and still same :(. I did reach my goal of 150 by Labor Day but this week.. nothing (( Probably b/c it was a long weekend and too much food, or hopefully b/c its almost that time of the month and I'm just not seing any change yet. I'm doing my weigh in on Thursdays so yest it was still same. SW - 150 CW - 150 GL by Oct 1st - 145 Hopefully next week will be better Good luck everyone!!!! :) |

So I think I kinda blew it last night :( I did very well all day and went to the gym after work, 1hr cardio, arms and stomach but when I came home, I ate waaaayyyy too much :(:(:(:(:(:( It wasnt really anything that bad, it was just a lot of food and then, to top that off, I had icecream lol. At least it was the weight watchers one with only 130 cals lolol but still. After I was done eating, I couldnt move bc I was sooo stuffed ((((( I'm just not used to having such large meals. I hope it didnt screw me up ((((( |
