Maggiepop - I know EXACTLY how you feel! I have been having a hard time as well with that. I am also having a problem getting my calorie intake high enough! Obviously I have never had that problem before now lol! I just think well I dont want to waste my calories on that so then I wind up not eating anything close to the calories I could have consumed for the day! It is so bad I won't even eat grapes! Them little suckers have 104 calories for 1/2 a cup! I dont even think so!

My DH wants to sit down tonight and come up with a menu for the week so that we can be on the same page (I MAY have freaked out a little on him today when he ate a PIZZA in my face lol) **He promised he was gonna diet too**

Well I guess I am off to the gym! I didnt get in there last night....shame shame I am to blame!

BTW - Welcome all newbies!!!!! Congrats on the success so far!

Hi all!

I got some motivating news today! This is the 5th week of the challenge that my fitness club is having and the biggest loser of this week will win a 2 night 3 day trip to a destination of your choice!!!! I NEEEEED A VACATION SOOOO BAD! My husband and I have been taking care of my grandmother for the past 5 years and have not so much as spent the night anywhere but home and she is now in a nursing home temporarily for therapy so I could possibly take off for a few days of much needed R&R before she returns home!

I am soooo overly motivated to win this thing!

To emmakea: Don't stress! The week before last I lost no weight and this past week I had lost 6lbs so it can be un-done!.....I do not have meal plans, but what I do if we are going out for dinner is, I look up the restaurant before we go and usually SOMEWHERE hidden in the website is the nutritional information (Trust me you really have to dig for it sometimes!).....If all else fails order a grilled chicken breast! A lot of times we will be out and decide to go out to eat so I cannot be overly prepared but I have looked up all of our favorite restaurants and know what I can and cannot have.....Also as far as the water consumption it goes by your weight, here is a link to the one I used. http://nutrition.about.com/library/blwatercal culator.htm  ;

Best of luck to you!, Jessica

Weight Loss Do you have gremlins [aka children]? My kids are eating my snacks.... Jan 30 2008

Are you sure you are not raising my kids?! LOL

Mine do the same things and how could you deny a child a salad?!?! THats like my two "mommy (add the sweet innocent chirp of a child) can I please have a snack you know like an orange?" How could you possibly say "NO YOU MAY NOT HAVE FRUIT!!!!"

Thats why I never take my kids to the store because the stuff they pick out is so healthy that I hate to say no because I know I am lucky that they like the stuff and I am afraid that saying no to them will make them not want to eat it anymore or lose the taste for it so I always relent and walk out of the store BROKE!!!!

Recipes Quick, low calorie, low price meal plans...... HELP!!!!! Jan 30 2008

I came up with my little pizza concoctions they are sooooo good!

I get the sara lee hamburger or deli buns (Whole wheat of course)

Pizza Quick pizza sauce

low fat cheese

and all the pizza toppings

Put the buns on a baking sheet and layer on the goodies

Bake in the oven until the cheese is melted and enjoy!

We usually have a salad to go with it and voila dinner is done!

We figured it up one night and ours only had 177 calories for 2 pizza's (topped with Pepperoni bell pepper and low fat cheese) and a huge salad (wishbone salad spritzers and the best for lo-cal)

Hope this helps!

Has anyone else read the journal posts by lizshuler entitled 1200 cal/day is bull and 1200 cal/day is bull part 2? I'm kind of confused. She's stating that the "daily goal calculator" is bogus and that we should nevereat below our BMR's, but instead up our exercise. -furrows eyebrows- I don't know if what I'm doing is right... I just exercise enough, so that when I subtract 1000 from my burn meter, it's at least 1200. If I exercise a lot that day, I may eat around 1600 or 1700 calories, just to make sure that my deficient isn't any more than 1000. lizshuler is making statements about losing lean muscle and not fat if you don't eat your BMR number (after subtracting exercise).

I am soooo confused! I just eat 6 times a day 3 meals, and 3 100 calorie snacks I have rarely made it to more than 1500 calories and that is so confusing because everything I look up says that with my activity level I need at least 3000.......3000?!?!?!?! WHAT?!?!?! Who knows.....I need a nutritionist or something!

Oh what a familiar story!!!!! My two eat alllllll of our "adult snacks" we have other (Healthy as well) snacks for them but they still always get to mine! And WHY does it have to be your favorite snack that you find the empty box INSIDE the cabinet innocently looking full of goodness and BAMMMM!---DENIED!!!!!!.........The little (I will steal and keep your word) GREMLINS!!!!!

I also feel the same: How did I get so big when I NEVER get to finish a meal?!?!?!

Hi I am new to this site and found you guys.....Congrats to all of you! I just joined a gym about 3 weeks ago and have lost 9 lbs so far!

I am 5'3 and before the 9 lbs was 295.....I nearly died when I saw that number!!!! As long as it goes down instead of up I will be happy! I have no true deadline but I still want to lose it as fast as I can and still be healthy.

The problem I am having now is that I am not eating enough. I am eating (Well trying to eat) 6 times a day (3 meals/3 snacks) but the MOST I have gotten in a day was like 1500 calories....I am working out minimum 1 1/2 hours 6 days a week so I know I need to eat more than that.....Do any of you have suggestions?!

I have been using EAS Whey protein powder (I bought it at wal-mart) and I use the soy milk with it for more added protein (and vanilla flavor!) I have also added a container of light yogurt to give it more flavor and to make it more of a meal replacement and it was good that way!

23 g Protein

with the soy milk (Silk) it has 30
