I eat half a bagel at one sitting..and save the rest for a snack later in the day...   Bagel also come on huge portions!!!  So my bagel may be smaller than your bagel...I eat einstein bros

I think people get cereal portion sizes very wrong!!! I always measure it out now and eat only that...I remember the good ole days when I used to just pour till the bowl was almost full and then add the milk.  Ikea has good size cereal bowls in the Everday Ikea section that hold just enough whether it is 3/4 c or 1 c of cereal and a 1/2 cup of milk.

I am at 184...my incentive for when I reach 150 is a tattoo in my stomach that I wont feel embarassed to show on the beach, a fabulous fitted dress to wear on my birthday and a spa day for the big night...my 26th birthday!!!

I really thought we were a minority.  I can't stand peanut butter by itself.  I will eat it with chocolate, like in reese's or back when I could eat dessert and not feel bad, in a layer cake or something.  I have never eaten a PB and Jelly sandwich.  When I was younger my mom would tell the people who babysat me that I would only eat grilled cheese and once my best friends mom would only make me a PB and J.  My mom was so mad when I came home later that day and told her I hadn't eaten all day!!!   It just isnt all that!!!

For serious restaurant frequenters!!!!

We eat out at restaurants a lot!  I tried to cut them out all the way at first and it was too hard to do, esp when my boyfriend is not on a lifestyle change and wants to go out. 

First step- reduce the portion size...ask restaurants to box up half your meal before it even gets  to the table

Ask for plain vegetables...if they look slick, they have ben tossed in oil...sometimes its is olive oil..sometimes not...I know, I'm a chef

Ask for whole wheat pasta...some dont have it on the menu but they will make it for you if you ask

Give the boxed portion to someone homeless...immediately..do not take it home, temptation will make you want to eat it later

To further reduce the portion size...order from the kids menu...I do this when we go out to breakfast...do you really need 2/3 eggs with cheese and 3 pancakes, 3 slices of bacon, potatoes, juice and coffee...I dont think so.  And its cheaper!!!

OH replace all drinks with water...I used to only drink sweetened ice tea and lemonade with every meal...almost another 160 cal per 16 oz glass...and i could down like 3 of these in one sitting!

I'm glad you posted this because I have been doing cardio for months now and I lost 10lb intially but ever since I started my weight training I have been losing and gaining the same 3 lbs weekly for like a month!!!  I wanted to know what is going on.

  • Hi everyone!!!  I'm 25@5'6 and want to be a fabulous 26 by December!  I have been really, really bad for the month of March...vacation and sickness to be considered.  I feel like I'm in a rut..but no more because I'm back on the grind.  I am in Chicago where it is still chilly outside...can't wait till I can do things outside!!!  And I'm gonna get a food journal...TODAY!!!Cool

    I love breakfast..it is the only meal of the day that I feel like I can eat whatever I want because I have all day to work it off...but I still only eat healthy food like whole grain cereal, lowfat mik, fruit, sometimes oj when I need an energy boost.  I prob eat like 300-400 cals but i dont eat lunch till about 1:30/2 pm so it lasts me awhile.

    I'm 5-6 and I was 191 and now I am 182 and wear a 14.  I want to be at 155 by summer...I cant remember ever weighing 155.  I think I bypassed it entirely.  I feel a little stuck right now but hopefully with a little more determination I will get it.  I dont care how much I weigh...I just want wear a size ten.

    I have been really worried about going...I read an article that the average person only goes 1 to 3 times a week.  And that is with healthy eating.  So, think about it like this.  If you eat a lot of crap, your body doesn't use it and it gets pushed back out.  If you eat healthy, then your body uses what it needs which should be most of it and you have very little waste.  as long as you drink enough water, then all should be fine.  And laxatives should really be a last resort.

    I love avocados!!! Like I but a few every time I go to the grocery store.  I use them in soups as a garnish, on sandwiches or my very fav application...GUACAMOLE!!! I have a great recipe that is spicy and very flavorful if anyone wants it!!!

    I work out so much now compared to before that when I see someone who is skinny I just say to myself...she/he wasnt here yesterday when I was sweating it off.  I have very high self esteem!!! I just think to myself that nobody looks better than me at ANY weight and if by chance they do...then I must have a better personality because I'm bright and bubbly!!!

     Seriously. I have h ad women look at me and ask if I just had a baby and when I say no they shrink back and feel bad.  And thats ok because I'm there to not look like I just had a baby. 

    If you feel like someone is looking at you with disgust just either ignore it or my personal fix would be to go find another full-figured gal and the two of you look at them with disgust!!! Just kidding...never go to their level.  Maybe just think it in your head.

    I love cake...the actual cake not the frosting...it is usually too sweet

    Molly- I pay about 100 a month for cable but I have a comprehensive plan that includes a home phone with unlimited long distance so it is very worth it.  Oh and I have added extras like Sports channels for the boyfriend and FITTV for me.  You so inspire me because I just want to lose 30lbs in 5 months...but even though I eat pretty well you EAT WAY BETTER THAN ME!!!

    Water is going down...and coming right back out every 30 mins.

    that might be hard since I will be on vacation starting on the 11th but I'll try to make it a vacation from work and not my lifestyle change.

    White is my favorite color and nothing shows fat like white!

    You will not, I repeat will not get diabetes from eating fruit or 4 to 5 oranges a day!!!

    Refined white sugar and excessive levels unless you have already have an imbalance are the real culprits.

    Fruit is the most perfect food.  Lots of vitamins and minerals and fiber for digestion esp if you eat fruit with skin.

    I think my mind is messed up too because I feel like If I eat bread and such, even if it is whole wheat...wowo that was a treat.  Better cut back on other things.  I have been feeling really guilty for eating some of my favorite foods even if in moderation ...JUST BECAUSE I ACTUALLY ATE THEM
