Yesterday was not much better than last week, posting on here really does help because I have to make myself accountable and I can't write it down and nobody else see it, it is getting me motivated, because it is proof that I am not doing what I am supposed to do to lose the weight I need to lose.  Hoping to do better next week.

Starting Weight: 257

Last week: 238

Current Weight:  239

Weight Remaining: 39

Total Weight Loss: 18 lbs.

I know that I have come a long way since Christmas, and I need to remember that I have succeeded quite a bit.  But I have been doing horribly with my food intake and not so good on my exercise, so I have to step it up a bit, it is going to get warm and I am going to be mad if I don't keep busy and get rid of this weight.  Thank you everyone, for getting me motivated, glad I joined this group.  Hope everyone has a good week.

Count me in, I eat almost an apple a day as it is.  I used to sell pampered chef, so I use a wedger and toss them in a disposible bowl and out the door I go with a simple healthy snack.  The only problem I have, is keeping them in the house, cuz my son likes them almost as much as I do.  I know that is a good thing, but not when I have to visit the store 3 times a week.  Anyway, my favorite is Fiji, they are crisp, juicy, sweet and not soft like a red delicous.  Have a wonderful Sunday, that is when I will start my first day with the apple.  Cool

Okay, last week I weighed in, but I didn't have time to get on the internet to put everything down.....

So for Feb 24th

Start:  257

Goal Weight:  200 ( or more)

Last Week:  238

Current:  238

Weight Remaining: 38

I did not lose any weight, but I also did not gain, so I guess that is a good thing, even though I would have liked to have lost, although considering the horrible food that I ate and all the stress that I went thru for the week, I am happy to know that I didn't gain any weight.  Maybe next week (tomorrow) will be better.  I would go ahead and weigh in, but i am trying to stick to the same time same day kind of thing.  I don't know if that really works, but that way I don't forget when I am really supposed to weigh in.  Hope everyone does well this week, and hopefully I will be better about having time to get on the computer.  Sorry about that everyone.

Me too, I am so glad I stubled onto the site, we are here for each other.  I was watching Rachel Ray today and she had Bob Greene on there and this one lady did something I thought was really cool, she got her friends and family to sponser her weight.  So, like when she got to say 180, she got a free hair cut from her local salon.  When she got to 150 someone baught her new clothes.  That is really a cool idea.  Get your friends and family to have a reason to encourage you.  i think that is awesome.

So what is everyone doing for exercise? I hit the gym mon and wed for 30 minutes treadmill and 10 minutes stairclimber at lunch. Then tues and Thurs I hit the gym for 25 min treadmill and 15 elliptcal followed by 45 minutes or so of weights. Tuesdays legs and back and Thursdays arms and chest.

I wish I had time to go to the gym, I have to do everything in my own time...so, I try to fit in 2 miles of Leslie Sansone at least 3 times a week, more if it will fit.  Then I also am taking care of some cattle for some people and I consider that some of my workout...walking in the mud, carrying bags of feed, throwing hay...etc.  Right now, that is all I have time to do.

Wonderful information.  Thank you for caring enough about all of us to share that with us.  The one thing that may also help you and everyone, I read somewhere a long time ago, when you are in the middle of your meal, and you sigh, then drink a glass of water and stop eating.  You will probably only be in the middle of a regular plate of food.  But it is your bodies way of telling you that you are full.  Most people don't even realize that they sigh in the middle of dinner.  Although, your body will tell you a lot, you just have to learn to listen to it.  I have a friend that is strong enough in her willpower, that she actually dumps salt all over her food after she sighs.  Then she can't eat anymore.  Then drinks a glass of water.  Try listening to your body.  I had never noticed before, but it is a key to the "don't eat too much" problem we all have.Smile
Weight Loss Does it Really Make a Big Difference in losing weight not eating after 7 p.? Feb 02 2008

I didn't used to think it mattered, except with me, I have trouble if I eat too close to bedtime, then I don't want to eat breakfast, and then I eat too much during the day....so I don't eat anything up to 2 hours before I go to bed, that way I am hungry in the morning and then I eat better meals thru the course of the day.  Otherwise, I don't want breakfast, and then I feel like I am playing "catchup" the rest of the day and eat poorly.  Does that make any sense?

Foods A small "vent" to breakfast people... Feb 01 2008

I agree for the most part.  HOWEVER, not all people are breakfast people.  You should eat when you are hungry and stop when you are full.  I have never been a person to eat in the morning and have always been thin.  I consume 100 to 160 calories after I have been awake a few hours.  In the end it is calories consumed versus calories burned, regardless of when they were consumed.  Their is no scientific proof that eating several small meals is better for your metabolism, just most people are able to make more sensible decisions on what foods to eat when eating several small meals (never have that really hungry feeling).  What is proven to jump start your metabolism in the morning is exercise and would definitely need to replenish after a work out.

But you don't want to eat about 2 hours before you go to bed, or anytime after that, because your body uses fat when you don't eat before bed or in the middle of the night.  I am proof though, that if I don't eat a big healthy breakfast, I feel like I am trying to do "catch up" all day, and never feel satisfied. That is just my opinion.

How about a low fat chocolate cake with tons of fiber.... Devil's food cake mix, 1 15 oz can of Libby's pumpkin. 1/4 can of water, mix well, mix will be thick...spread into a 9 x 13...bake @ 350 until the sides come off the pan. Weight Watchers counts it as 1 point. If you let it cool over night, it is better. You can't taste the pumpkin, I promise. Sometimes I put a little bit of lite cool whip on top. It is dreamy.
