garys6girls I'm with you looking at the nice clothes, going why?! Haha...so the motivation now is a super cute swimsuit that cost me a lovely $60. I figure now that I shelled out the money I HAVE TO fit in it, I mean, it worked before. I'd lost about 7 lbs, but now I'm right back with you at 5'5" and 155lbs. printfan I hate when people try to tell you you should weigh a certain amount. I think most people know what is right for their body, even if we aren't all doing something about it (I feel so guilty...). |

That is known to happen occasionally in conjunction with sitting on my ass cause I can't move... But bottom line is it's basically all fat or water or some combo of the two...no muscle? Also, how long does it take to get your muscle back after coming off a torn ACL? |

| I was having this problem and physical therapist told me it's because the muscles you're using doing these exercises aren't quite as strong as they should be for what you were doing. You can fix it by lifting and stretching more. When you have the muscle built up again it won't happen. Cheers!:) | |||

| Basically it's 100 calories per mile for a 150lb. woman. If it's a steeper incline it's more. Most of the hiking databases have is based off of 3 mph. So if you walked for 2 hours at a pace of 3 mph you walked about 6 miles then add in some extra calories because of the incline. You'd be somewhere around 600+ calories. Hope that kinda helped. |

| That's great that you want to take care of the weight before school, but just so you know not everyone is a size 2. In fact, I think there were only 4 or 5 girls in my whole dorm (over 400 people) that were that tiny. So don't worry |

Original Post by andie98: Ramen is absolutely horrible for you. It's fried noodles and lots of sodium. If you want something cheap and easy there are these Thai Kitchen noodle things and they are SOO good and they're relatively good for you since they are rice noodles and lots of seasonings. My suggestion for alcohol on the weekends is uh...I got nothing seeing as how I'm bad with that too and retain everything I drink. How about hard alcohol mixed with seltzer water and like a lime or lemon or some such thing. It'll be a little bit less caloric than beer, but not much.
I'm holding up pretty well I'd say. |

Original Post by wechinn: I completely sympathize with you! I was in such good shape until I quit rugby, now I'm pretty squishy around the edges. If you're trying to get back into running start walking the distance you want to eventually be able to run, but put in spurts of running say a block or two at a time as you can handle it. It's seriously the best way to get back into running.
As for everyone else this is great! What does everyone do for exercise? Any good recipes out there? |

| Okay yana, I have an idea that a lot people use and know works for me. If you use a smaller plate you can fill it and tell him "Look, I have a whole plate of food!" and not be so bad, because it really won't be as much. Since it's a full plate, though, it will still seem like it is a lot. Dee it's great that you want to be toned again. I think that's one of the biggest problems we probably all have. And since muscle burns more it's a win win once you start. It'll sound stupid, but a great way to at least tone your stomach is to make yourself sit up straight. It'll get rid of any flab around the tummy guaranteed. | |||

| Under a rock! I'm still here, but next week and possibly the one after I will be gone. Or if I am still on here I might not be coherent due to the large quantities of pain killers I will be on:). Then I'll be back!!! So how's everyone doing? Any losses/gains/standing still...s? I'm watching some "healthy" show on Food Network right now and she's making pulled pork sandwiches, but they're good for you! How delicious does that sound?! I just wish I knew which show this was. | |||

| I think you should just bundle up so you're super warm (make sure your face and fingers are covered so you don't get frostbite) and think to yourself the faster I run and do these things, the faster I get in to a nice warm house. That's what my family does in Minnesota once it hits the negatives!:) | |||

| What exactly did you do when you broke your leg? I get operated on next week and then I got told I should be able to walk about two weeks later, although it'll be really restricted. I need stuff to keep me busy until then and I'm not really creative, so anything you did when your leg was broken I should be able to do and would be infinitely helpful. | |||

| Good job everyone, ya'll have such good self control! I, unfortunately, have regressed a bit. I gorged the other day. I was soooo hungry because I got my first real workout in a month and a half, and yeah...it progressed into large amounts of eating. |

Original Post by kellyjofrog: Hey, no worries about being the heaviest. Everyone's weight just depends on their build and genes. I was 170 in July and it took me until about the middle of November to get myself down to 155. Like you I'd be sooooo unhealthy at 115, whereas my best friend is 5'8" and only 120, but is completely healthy (in fact she eats like a horse). The smallest I've ever been was 125 at 5'1", but I was able to fit in a size 4 since it was almost all muscle. Personally it's not size or weight that matters to me, but how physically fit I am. However, fit would most likely be at a smaller size than what I am right now. And you should be excited because the more you weigh, the more calories you burn when you exercise! |

Original Post by shg_chiquita: WOO! HOOO!!!!! There are a lo more people ou there about the same size as us than I thought. The last time I saw something for 5'5"-ish people almost everyone was already kinda skinny (being 115 or less) and was complaining about it. Personally I could never be that thin and be healthy cause it's not my build and not my genes (not meaning to offend anyone small if it's your build), so it's good to see people more my size. miss_sweet of course you can join. That's what we're here for! Good job on getting down to 135 the first time. I'm sure you can do it again. |

| I had that happen to me last year. It also hurt to breathe while running. In my case it was a torn rotator cuff and lots of pulled muscles. If it also hurts to breathe once it starts to hurt your shoulder you might want to get it checked out by a doctor. | |||

paulataylor8 I know my aunt really likes to make her meals for the week on one day she has off (granted, if you don't have a day off that wouldn't work), then she's set for the rest of the week.
doggirl08 DAMN SNACKS!!!!! Haha...if you get any good suggestions for that I'm completely open. |
