Weight Loss Anyone do their measurements? Feb 17 2008
00:33 (UTC)

Hi! I was just wondering when you guys measure your thighs/calves if you do it standing or sitting? I don't see how it could make much difference, I mean, they can't actually get bigger just by being moved a little... but that said, I'm willing to listen to any advice or opinions! Thanks!

Btw, mandi, we're pretty similar! Aside from our age difference, anyway--I'm 29. I'm 5'2" and starting at 210 lbs. I'm wearing sizes 16/18 in jeans right now. Smile

I haven't really started this like I planned. I'm having trouble getting started. I've calorie counted before (on another site), but this time I'm just... blah. I want to do it. I do. I just need a kick in the booty. Heh.

Rockyhard, besides a bit of age difference we're pretty similar!

Female, 29

Height: 5'2"

Weight: 210

Frame: Small

Goal: 120-130 lbs.

I want to get started to look (and FEEL) better when I turn 30 in September this year! I can't take it ALL off by then, but I'd like to aim for losing about 2 jeans sizes (from 16/18 to a 12/14 US) by then. I need motivation and I'm more than willing to give some, too! Laughing

Reading this thread, I've become (even more) peeved with manufacturer's sizing! There are NO regulations or standards! I've decided that when I reward my future weight loss with new jeans, I'm going to take my measurements and head straight for the men's/boy's department! Tongue out In high school, I wore boy's jeans all the time. They come in the same styles as women's and finding your size is the SAME IN EVERY STORE. WOOT!

Sorry for the mini-tirade. ;)

I'm 29 years old, 5'2" and 210 lbs, on a small frame... my highest weight ever. I wear 16/18 in jeans and an XL in shirts. I carry my weight pretty evenly all over. I was thinking my goal was to get back to my size 5/6s I wore before I gained, but now I guess I'll just dig out my old "skinny"jeans and measure the suckers to know what that really is! Oh and anyone who's similar to me in height/weight (or not!), and wants a buddy, please message me. I just recently joined this site, and could use all the support, advice, and motivation I can get! Wink

I think I'm going to try SF as a jump start, too. Starting Monday (Feb 11), I'll make a one month commitment and see how it works for me. If I like it enough and see some progress, I'll decide then if I want to continue or just eat healthy foods with a calorie deficit. Smile I'll probably go with the low carb variety, since carbs tend to be my downfall! Like a lot of you (yay!) I'm also eating five to six small meals a day. I just started counting calories, and I haven't done it religiously. I think for me, SF will help a lot with that! I've got about 75-80 pounds I'd like to lose. I'm at 205 right now, and that may seem like a lot of weight to lose, but I'm only 5'2". Wink And, honestly, I don't care what the scale says or how much weight I lose, if I get to a size 7/8, I'll be happy... 5/6 and I'll be THRILLED. Cool

Since I'm starting Monday, I'll do my weigh-ins on Fridays. Good luck everyone! I'm glad I found this site, and especially this thread!

Edit: I wanted to add... I'm 29 years old and I'd really like to lose a lot of my excess by my birthday in September! Eek, the big 3-0, how'd it get here this FAST?!?! Surprised

New Members Splenda..is it ok to use? Feb 08 2008

Original Post by hgielrehtaeh:

Stevia is horrible for you. Don't use it! It is a mutagen! It causes your internal organs to mutate!! Mostly your liver!

Okay...seriously....

I use Splenda. I love it. I don't have sweet cravings. I lose weight. And I can't have sugar or I do gain weight (insulin resistance). If you don't have problems with it, then don't worry. Some people overreact. If they only knew what was in all of their foods they would never eat.

OMG. Animals crap on vegetables in fields! Don't eat veggies! OMG, bugs crawl on grains when they are in fields! Don't eat grains! Eww! Ewww! Fruits get bugs in them!!! AAAHHH! No more fruits!!!

Seriously.

 I love you! Laughing
