Hello sorry to hear your feeling blue I feel like a heffalump at the mo, but this is due to water retention, due to soon to be coming on my blob:-( and that puts my weight up from 4 - 6pounds each time, so its a puzzle. as water retention actually shows on the scale, so can not say what I think what it is, sometimes I feel fat and the scale says Im the same weight, but Its because I have lost tone probably, were I have to stop, for awile from doing full blown proper excersise due to my M.E flaring up. So I am not a great help all I can say is if you need to talk, just drop us an email:) Love and light and Bright Blessing Astralhippy aka sue |

Wow you go girl, your so toned and very beautiful before and after, but know you have more of an athletic body now, corh you have a tummy to die for you must be so proud, well done, what I would do for a tum like that, unfortunetly I was morbidly obese and now have stretch marks that now I have slimmed down have gone paler but wrinkly on my stomach, I also have a bit of hang on my arms and stretch marks, but as my partner keeps reminding me its part of me and the journey Ive been on that figures as it looked before it calmed down the stretchmarks a map of the tube trains of london lol, but wouldn't change myself with plastic surgery. I have learnt to except myself. I also can not excersise much due to my M.E so its harder for me to train or run as much as I like without a flare up. Heres my before and after photos, to get them so they do no go out of proportion you have to right click and open link in new window or tab.http://caloriecount.about.com/pics/astralhipp yI have lost 115 pounds so far. I was not too keen on the Germany entry, they normally have great songs, but that swing type waffle with Dita von teese with her burlesque posing and seductive poses what were they thinking it just didn't, work, just plain weird. Graham can be a bit naughty I cringed when he said about the big lady singing, filling the whole stadium. When she watches that back I can imagine her being quite hurt, cant remember the country that's how memorable that was, oh dear I felt she was very nasal in her singing I went to go to sing along as I thought she was singing in a different language but she wasn't just nasally and not clear in pronunciation. Azerbajian sorry if I spelt it wrong was very catchy song can understand why that was up there, but Turkey not sure about that, and Iceland I made a tea and missed it so I cant comment on that, but the sweden entry the lady she had the best in tune powerful voice and I felt alot better than Jade from UK, her range was magnificent.

Seeing my dad at 23 stone Christmas 2007, breathless, bow legged in agony with his legs and back, with heart problems diabetes, sleep apnea and high blood presure, I was going the same way I had reached 20 stone and was going for all the tests and had high blood pressure and had terrible pains in my back and kness too, my breasts when i sat down lay on my massive stomach and my tummy lay heavy on my legs I was uncomfortable sitting standing and couldn't bend and I was allowing my M.E and depression take over my life and comfort ate and binged, Looking at my Dad made me realise that was going to be me if I carried on. Thankfully I am now a healthy BMI and weigh 12 stone just under and lost a whopping 8 stone in a year and 5 months and I am clear of Diabetes, my blood pressure is normal my heart is healthy and I control the ME and Depression rather than it controls me and have a better healthier view about food. Sadly for my Dad He is 75 and refusing to do anything about his weight. Best wishes Astralhippy |

| Fitness | Help... Gap between legs instead of rubbing...How do you do it?!?! | Apr 08 2009 21:39 (UTC) |
15 |
Hi there I have knock knees they turn inwards so no matter how toned I am I will never have a gap at the top of my legs like some woman. I know you wanted excersise plans to tone up that part of you, but before you start, are you British as quite a few on here are american or canandian why I am asking is in Evans they sell anti rub shorts, that are like a tights in material and are super stretchy super comfy and easily worn under most clothes and are discreet and they will prevent rubbing as boy don't it arf hurt when that happens, I have scars too were I ve been rubbed raw. I were mine for excersise too they are great for people like us, Evans do online they may send out international. Good luck with your quest. Best wishes Sue aka astralhippy |

Cheers everyone your comments are greatly recieved I will try not to be discouraged and keep going, I may well drop down to 1500 to see if it will get me off this plateau but I will also look into water weight and water retention, as herbally I may be able to combat that. As I do get bloated at times and puffy. I will also look into muscles and read up on them as they are obvisiouly a complex thing. Ps as for the first comment I have 1 half stones to lose + 3 pounds Ive gained, so its not about panicking as such as to understanding whats going on so I can best move forward and keep on track, peoples comments have greatly helped as normally there is someone in a similar boat on website. Thanks to you all, gonna go way and read up and change my calories. Good luck to you all love astralhippy aka sue |

| Health & Support | Do any of you know anything about kidney stone prevention through diet? | Mar 25 2009 21:44 (UTC) |

Hi I had calcium kidney stones and I was told to eat low fat or half fat dairy and not so much of it. This is your cheeses milks yoghurts and such like. If you are a person prone to stones in your kidneys, you can also be prone to gall stones in later life. I chose not to listen to my doctor when I was 18 and carried on with eating lots of full fat and high fat dairy and I ended up with gall stones at 33, so the Doctor was right in my case, so now I eat skimmed milk, low fat yoghurts half fat cheese and dairy. As kidney stones are painful, very painful, but gall stones are crippling. He didnt mention meat tho or nowt else. Even though my gallbladder and stones was taken out, I remain on this low fat half fat dairy as I still have my kidneys. Better to be sagfe than sorry. Hope you feel better very soon. Lots of love sue aka astarlhippy |

Original Post by mel_e_mel: Can relate with you lots, I as you know had my gall bladder out, as above, but I still have problems too, it makes me happy not that you all suffer at times, but that I am not alone in my suffering. I live on gaviscon and pariet drug to lessen acid reflux as I have been diagnosed with GERD, they thought it would all go away when I had my gallstones and gallbladder out, but it wasnt to be and I know have to be cautious with such rich fatty food. They also told me a very small minority carry on suffering, so its highly unlikely, but heh, I had to be this so called minority, I am only 33. They had to flush my stones out the bile duct I had 30-40 small ones, trapped and blocking it. Lifes a bitch to some, constantly think why me!!But you just have to plod on regardless and live with it. Lots of love to you all. Sue aka astralhippy |

Hi did you mean the unlucky few instead of lucky??????? Or are you being sarcastic??? As I am one of the unlucky few, most people have there gallbladder and stones out and no longer experience any pain any discomfort, no ghost pain as I put it or any digestive probs after the op and have a normal life there after, me no I had to be the minority too, I dont find that fibre is the prob, I eat wheat and wholegrains regulary, none of the white stuff, in bread, flour, pastry or rice, so is it fibre with you as its a weird one if it is. But hey we are all different, what I have found is I have to be carefully with spicing, hot or otherwise, tinned baked beans, have spicing, to pep them up and sometimes affect me. Spices that really do me in are ginger, cayenne, hot paprika, garam massala, ready made up curry spices and chilli pepper on bad days even too muck cracked black pepper does me in. So any spice, paste, pepper, seasoning or sauce with spice is to be avoided I find. Make your own so you can monitor what goes in them, Homemade beans are so much more delisious, email if you want the recipe! Your husband is right, in the minority group, we will react to high fats, creams and so on as our body can not break it down, other people who are the lucky few, their bodies adapt to breaking it down in another way. But others like us can end up with diarrheorh and cramps and ghost pain, as it the gall bladder is still there. With us it means no fried food, cutting down to 1-2 eggs a week, or cutting them out all together, low fat yoghurts to no fat yoghurts avoiding cream and going onto half fat cheeses, Lescol is a great cheese alternative with only half the fat and is very low in salt. using skimmed milk is good, but if thats too drastic semi skimmed, mayos half fat and so on, My advise is its the fats and oils in food and saturated fats you must cut down, not cut out completely, just reduce by half in everything you prepare cook or eat. And also chocolate, sad but unfortunely a no no really, but treat yourself like I do with a square of quality dark 70% chocolate instead of a whole bar of dairy milk or such like as dark has less fat, or have a dark chocolate wafer biscuits instead of a piece of choccy and crisps only eat the baked varieties, or the healthy varietes with low saturated fat. I hope I have not waffled on too much and I hope this has been useful, if you need to chat or share recipes, just email me. But by my experience, fibre should not be an issue. Let us know how you get on. Ps I always hit the As even whe ive cut down the fat and if its not fibre after all, you wont have any real probs hitting the As still, it just means your fat levels are a lot lower that an average woman should eat which is not dangerous or bad for you. best wishes Hope you feel better soon. Lots of love astralhippy aka Sue

Marinate the chicken using ginger, soy sauce, rice vinegar or sherry ginger and spring onions, marinade the breast of chickens in that for 4 hours or night before, grill under a low to medium heat then once cooked slice chicken and pop in a pitta with chinease leaf and salad greans and when it comes to cooking rice, cook it in a good stock, then once cooked sprinkle over a little sesame oil and soy sauce, and add and mix in cooked peas or a tin of sweetcorn. Very oriental and not at all boring or high in calories. Lots of love sue aka astralhippy Ps If any of you know me as the mad veggie and want to know how I know this tastes good as before becoming veggie this is the sort of food we ate and now we cook it all the same with Quorn chicken fillets, just as deliscious and very low in fat, but you have to defrost fillets first and slash the fillets so the marinade penatrates further, you could also do this with the chicked. Just make scores diagonally across avoiding going right through breast. Anyone wants recipies just drop us an email we do indian food chinease food and tai food and of course good old traditional english grub and they are all easy to adapt to meat if you prefer. |

Hi Sorry to bring this up, but if it doesnt go with a rennie or a load of water, go to your Docter you may have gall bladder problems or gall stones, the people who are at risk those out of eating disorders, those with pain were you state and it can happen to more than just the fat flabby forty somethings, please get it checked out, its easily ruled out by an ultra scan, quick dianosis and quick treatment can prevent more and more pain and even a severe attack I know I have had gall stones and just out of an operation 6 days ago and I am was Bullimic/food obsessive/ED on and off extremes from starving to sicking to overeating and its caused stones I'm 33. Please just rule it out before you get in a cycle of cutting out foods, eating antiacids and getting ill. I hope you feel better soon and wish that you have not got gall problems, but better be safe than sorry. Lots of love and sending you ((((HUGS)))) sue aka astralhippy |

| Health & Support | Gallbladder and stones op anyone here that had 4 incisions holes, instead of 3 just wanna compare with others. | Feb 16 2009 22:21 (UTC) |

Hi thanks so much for your responce to my post, reading your responce has made me feel alot better knowing I am not alone, Your experience is lengthy to mine I was booked into hospital at 8am and was made ready for surgery by 11am and op, took 2 hours and as soon as I came round I just said I was in pain so they gave me morphine, I then had an hour sleep, then I was sat up and persuaded to get up and use comode and eat toast and jam, when I satified them in using toilet and eating I was sent home 2 hours after op, with only co-codamol and ibrufen tablets and 2 sheets of micropore and an aftercare leaflet and when I got home I was shaking, once morphine came out of my system at 6pm I was in horrendus pain that was not being got rid of by my tablets I was given, when I phoned them they said all was normal at this time and just rest. So my partner had to do everything for me and it was a truly miserable time, with no one to compare with, apart from a lady who lived in town, who had her stones removed not the gallbladder and she only had 3 incisions and was up being normal and well after just 2 days. I was totally freaked out too, I just couldn't look at myself without sobbing, my partner found it hard dealing with me, as I was even too frightened to let him touch me and recover my wounds, he done an ace job dealing with my moods, constant sobbing and feeling like pooh, without him, I wouldnt of been able to cope physically or mentally I found it truly harrowing how your just a number and part of their conveyer belt of ops, there is no aftercare no more and hardly any support so thank you for finding the time to answer my post. I am now 6 days after the op and doctors said I was ok today and its only that chest wound and high side wound that needs to heal now. So I am well on the road to recovery now, thanks, Sue aka astralhippy Anyone else had similar experience like ours? |

My way of keeping going is I feel great look better and am very healthy now, have a good outlook to food no longer see it as an enemy, my partner keeps me strong and cooks 90% of the time and everything he cooks is sooooooooo deliscious, I dont crave as much as I did, the only problem I have is I have lost 7 1/2 stone in a year and the amount of clothes I have got through is shocking, so I cut back by buying all second hand until I stabalise at my correct weight, the only other thing is saggy droopy boobs, but heh, my health is good now so its a small price to pay and my partner loves me, for me and he loves them as much then as he does now and that alone makes me feel fine about them, the only trouble I have is they look a bit weird in swimming costumes, but when I stuff them in a bra the problem goes away. Best wishes and good luck to you all love Sue aka astralhippy XXXX PS Does anyone have people peers or strangers keep saying "If I was you I wouldnt lose any more weight" and people trying to get you to eat something fattening or calorific, by buying you chocolates or making a cake? I have and that annoys me, Im very strong though and say no thanks and pass it to my partner or a friend who wants it, its almost if they want you to fail. |

| Health & Support | My gallbladder quit on me..... | Feb 07 2009 11:46 (UTC) |

Hi all gonna have my gallbladder and stones removed tuesday of next week, little scared, but gotta go as I am on soooooooooo many pain relief drugs, gaviscon and another tablet to calm down acid reflux, so in a way can not wait, hopefully when its gone I can come off the drugs, anyone like me before the op, had to be on acid reflux meds gaviscon and stuff like that? did you stop them straight away? or have to be on them until it all settled down? I have had friends that some say they can now eat what they like, some say they still can not eat rich fatty foods, some have noticed bad reaction to chocolate and caffeine still and if eaten get bouts of wind dyrrohea and bloating, but all in all loads of positives weighing up with the bad, been told by all its just trial and error everyone reacts differently, an odd feww very small percentage of people who have the gallbladder out, still remain on drugs as there is no change from it being out, bit like a ghosting effect as if its not been taken out at all, but its very rare, most say they feel 100% better without it. Best wishes Sue aka astralhippy |

yummy, also you can put 2 cloves of garlic chopped very finely and then with the back of the knife puree the garlic and add it into the tablespoon oil, coat the wedges and when placed on the baking sheet grind coursly black pepper over the chips and repeat on over side that too is yummy. Other one is to add 1 teaspoon of medium to hot curry powder to the oil for a hot and spicy potato wedges. Id better stop now, all this talk about potato wedges is making my tummy growl lol. sorry about this but I disagree, eating only 1200 calories and doing all that excersise is not good. calorie count have a sedentary level a light activity level and so on with how many calories you should consume for that amount of excersise. 1200 is the lowest a woman can eat but read what CC says and put in the level your at and read what calories you should eat, as you sound as though you are not fueling your body enough, it can not burn on empty. I have lost 6 half stone in 1 year a lengthy process of determination and sticking with CC and balancing how much I eat to how much I excersise. Its not going to be instant and you should not plump for the lowest and go mad excersising thats not sensible or good health either and your less likely to suceed and keep that level up so calm down and do things slowly and sensibly and it will reep rewards like me. Drinking loads of water is rubbish and not proved vitamins can boost your well being but can not supplement bad choices and harsh regeems. I wish you lots of love and luck for the future, but please fuel your body with enough good nutritionally balanced food and be healthy first and then the weight will come off naturally. Sorry if this is harsh but I wish people would read more carefully CC and follow what they recomend. Its worked for me and the only time I have been on 1200 calories is when I was on a sedentary lifestyle and not excersising much. love and light astralhippy aka sue |
