funkymunky- congratulations on the size 8! I can't wait to get back to that size. I have been a 10 for the past year until last month when I had to buy new work clothes and had to get 14's! I was very irritated.

I weighed in today...

I am a day late, too, but I have good news...down another 2 lbs even though I had a bad weekend (when I wasn't at work, I was at the hospital with my sister while she had a baby). Anyways...

Starting weight (2/4): 194

Last weigh in (2/8): 189.8

Current weight: 187.8

That means I have already lost my 6 lbs! Yea!!! I'm gonna try for a few more before the end of the month. I hope you all make it too!

Hey all; I weighed in today...

Last weigh in (2/8): 189.8

Only two lbs in a week and a half, but that's with my TOM and a horrible weekend. I wasn't home at all since when I wasn't at work, I was at the hospital with my sister who was having a baby. I tried to eat healthy when I had time to eat, but it was mostly fast food. Keep up the good work everyone!

I was actually down to 189.8 on Friday, but didn't do so well over the weekend. I guess 3 lbs in a week is still pretty good though!

meganmudge- I met with a personal trainer a couple years ago and this is what he told me to do to lose the most weight fast: using a treadmill or elliptical, start out doing 2 mins slow and easy, then 30 to 45 secs as hard and fast as you can, then back to 2 mins slow and easy. Just keep going back and forth for as long as you can. I don't do it because I don't have either of these machines, but I did try it out a few times back then and I felt so good afterward. You sweat like crazy and it's very hard to do, but it's worth it.

Well, I weighed myself this morning after 4 days of dieting and I am down 4.2 lbs! I am so excited at this great start and I hope that it keeps up. I know you always lose the most the first week, but I'd be happy with at least a pound a week. That would get me to my goal by the end of the year. I hope you're all doing well also!

Jade- I have done WW in the past and it's what I just started doing again this week. I love the core plan because there are so many foods that you can eat for free and then you have 35 points per week for items that aren't on the list. You can eat as much as you want, but the key is to always stay satified. You never want to let yourself get too full or too hungry. Try it out. If you want a list of foods you can eat, let me know and I'll email it to you.

I'm in the same boat as you, emerie. I just got on a scale last week and realized I have gained 20 lbs since the last time I got on, which was already way over where I want to be. So I just decided this week to diet and excercise. I'm at 194 right now and really want to get to about 135. Let's do it together, little bits at a time. How about 5 lbs by the end of February? That's almost 2 lbs a week, which is a healthy loss. What do you think? And we can come up with some small reward for ourselves if we make it. Good luck to you!

missmichelle- I am in the exact same boat! All of my extra fat is in my stomach and thighs. I hate coming home from a long day at work and not being able to move because my thighs are chafed so bad. It had never happened to me before the past two years. It really hurts! And for my stomach...I blame it on having a baby...but I guess I should stop blaming it on that after a year and a half. Anyway, I have no idea what to do about the thighs. I have been working on my abs, hoping the fat will go away and then I'll have beautiful abs (wishful thinking! :) If anyone has any insight on the thigh thing, maybe we should callenge ourselves together to lose inches from our thighs. Let me know what you think.

mladdy- Hmm...my journey so far...I was at about 130 until I went to college. There I gained I think 10 lbs. Then I got married and gained another 10 - 15 lbs. I went on Weight Watchers for a few weeks and got down to about 140 and then gave up because I hate dieting and my husband was always bringing home foods that I wasn't supposed to eat but couldn't resist. After a few more years, I had gotten upto around 165 and then I got pregnant. After I had my boy I got down to about 170 without doing anything (unless you count breastfeeding). Then, this past November, the company I had worked for last year went out of business. I got a new job, but it didn't start until January, so I pretty much sat around my house for a month. I didn't notice I was gaining weight until I had to buy new work clothes and I had to go up 2 sizes! I thought they were just making clothes smaller now. Then I stepped on a scale last week for the first time in months and it said 194! I thought there had to be something wrong, but then I put my son on there and it was right. So I started talking to my aunt about dieting again (she's been doing really well following the WW core plan and the YOU diet) and she told me about this site, so I'm trying it out. I am determined to lose weight this time, but I have no motivation for excercise, so I'm hoping to find some people to help out; maybe do small challenges or something.

Emmakea - with the water, I was taught that you take your weight and divide it in half, and that's how many ounces you drink each day. But it doesn't have to be water. Every drink has water in it, so you can have juice or something else with no caffine so you don't get tired of too much water.

I would also like some recipes or meal ideas, so if you get any forward them my way!

I used to buy Lean Cuisine and other meals when I first started dieting. They were tiny! Almost like a small snack for me. And I only found a couple of them that I liked, I think the chicken alfredo and the pizza. But like you said, they aren't that low in fat and calories. Definately not worth buying.

My biggest challenge is myself! LOL. I love eating healthy foods (fruits and veges) but don't like to take the time to cut them up. I only eat foods that are fast and easy. That's typically all I buy too. I'm just starting my diet though and I'm going shopping today, so I'm going to make myself buy better foods and take the time to eat them. I guess I should be motivated by the fact that I have a one year old that should be eating healthy too. I also don't excersize at all. Noelle - I would love to come over and excersize with you sometime; maybe we can do it a couple times a week after all the kids are in bed? Anyway, I have a lot of weight to lose, but I'm going to make small goals, like 10 lbs at a time, and see where that takes me.

Hi mladdy. We seem to have a lot in common. I am 27 and married with a 1 1/2 year old. I am 5' 5" and 194. I really want to get to around 135, but I'd settle for 150. I would love to talk some more, maybe help each other out. Where do you live? What have you done so far to lose weight?

I just decided today that I'm going to lose some weight, so I joined this website. I have a 1 1/2 year old and haven't lost any of the weight. In fact, I have gained some more in the past two months since I didn't have a job and sat around most of the time. I need help staying motivated. I think that making a small goal like 6 lbs in a month is a lot easier to think about than 50 to 60 lbs. What are you all doing to lose the weight? I have done weight watchers in the past and it's the only diet I know. I'm terrible at getting motivated to excersize. Help me out please!
