Can I just skip over this week? Aunt Flo arrived this morning. Needless to say, I feel like crap. While I worked through my eating issues for lunch, for dinner it was a different story. I had two of the string cheese sticks (80 calories each) for dinner last night around 9pm. I was just feeling too lazy to fix myself anything. This morning I woke up totally late so I had burger king for breakfast, (710 cals for the sandwich, the tots and the OJ). I'm now having a ham sandwich and another string cheese stick. I am craving a coke so bad! My friends divorce is getting finalized today and I promised I would be there to get her drunk and take care of her. So we're going out to dinner and having drinks. So not really dieting today. Oh well. I will just make up for it tomorrow. I will make sure I stick to my calories AND get at least a 60 min cardio work out in. On the good side, I weighed in at 243 this morning! Woo hoo! I am down 11.4 lbs since January 11. Go me! (Doing happy dance lyssy311 - I don't have kids or pets to keep me busy, so I have to find other ways to get some sort of movement in my life. At work instead of paging the warehouse for someone, I try to make sure and walk back there as often as possible. I've also gotten into doing housework more often to get some extra movement in. I can just picture the mess of the "snow". Makes me giggle since I'm not the one that has to clean it up. |

allydan - I am in the same boat as you are getting ready to start that time of the month. It's one of the few times I really crave sweets. But other than the sweets cravings I don't really get hungry, so I don't eat a lot and I still somehow manage to gain like 5lbs and then loose them as soon as I'm done. Thanks for the good vibes! missfaybel - Don't stress about the 3 lbs. I'm obsessed with seeing if I've gained or lost weight, so I weigh myself almost every morning. Some mornings I weigh 3 lbs more than I did the day before. On those days I try to walk around more and try to be a little more strict on what I eat. But even if I don't manage to do more physicall activity or eat better, the following day when I weigh myself I find that I'm back down to my original weight. Even though I weigh myself almost everyday, the day that really matters to me is Friday. If on Friday I am the same as I was the Friday before I really don't stress it. If I've lost, then I'm happy. If I've gained then I revisit my activities of the week before and review what I ate and adjust. Just keep at it and don't get yourself all stressed over 3lbs. You want to be healthy not miserable. ericka1031 - Totally understand office food pressure...I think it's okay to have something as long as it's in moderation. However, it doesn't always work out that way. Hence I had TWO donuts this morning that were worth half my daily calories. And while I freaked out after doing the calorie math, I made sure to eat something a little more healthy for lunch (campbell's select chicken noodle soup). It doesn't counter act all the bad calories I had for breakfast, but at least I didn't add too many more bad ones. Now if I just have something healthy and sensible for dinner I figure I will be ok calorie wise. kelly27 - I'm going to grill a chicken breast, cut it up into strips, and put it in a salad that will consist of romaine lettuce, baby carrots and light ranch. I may add a little cheese to it. Depends on how many more calories I have left by dinner time. mladdy - Sorry this is so late in answering...Zumba is an aerobic-dance program that has a lot of latin dance influences like merengue, salsa, flamenco, samba, tango, reggae, ****, calypso, cha cha, belly dancing, hip-hop...basically a bunch of different dances all rolled into one class. I really like it because I get a full body work out but it doesn't feel like a work out. It feels like I've just been out dancing, and I love to dance! |

Good morning ladies. So it's been a few days since I've posted. My family is going through some tough times so I've been busy trying to be there for my parents. I'm also going through a bad roommate situation, so hopefully that will be resolved by the end of the month. I'd explain in more detail, but I am tired of being upset about it and I tend to cry every time I go into it. Send good vibes my way if you can. I would really appreciate them. So I took a CC quiz that tells you what kind of eater you are, and I'm a Functional Eater. Which basically means that I eat only when it's convinient or fits into my schedule. The result of my drastic weight gain in the last 4 years has been because I don't exercise and don't eat very well. This past week I really had to work to NOT fall into my old "functional eater" ways. Most of the week I did ok having all three meals and snacks. But man was it hard. I really had to force myself to fix meals and eat. However over the weekend I fell off the wagon so to speak. Saturday morning I got up and I procrastinated eating. I couldn't decide what I wanted to have so I decided not to have anything. But by 11am I was starving, since for the last month I have been eating 3 meals and having snacks. Instead of going to eat something I spent an hour debating with myself weather to eat something healthy or just caving and making myself a fattening cheesy omlet. Reasoning won and I made myself a BIG salad with chopped up hard boiled eggs, carrots, and ham. It didn't hit the spot, but at least I wasn't hungry anymore. Then Saturday night went out to dinner with some friends to a Mediterranean restaurant. I ordered a chicken kabob sandwich and we all shared an order of humus. I didn't eat the rice, but I ate the entire sandwich (which had a lot of this yogurt dressing they put on it) and more than my fair share of the humus (with the pita bread). Had 5 alcoholic beverages, which probably have tons of calories. And the worst is that at midnight I was hungry since we were still out. So since we were at Old Chicago, I had one of their chocolate chip cookies with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. And my justification for having it was...."It's midnight, my calories have started over and I'm going to do 90 minutes of zumba (which burn 750 calories) in the morning." On very little sleep I had to force myself to get up, have my regular 1 cup of cereal and go work out. Sunday was mostly ok as far as food goes, but although I was eating like my new "normal" is. I felt hungry most of the day. I think it was because I only had two meals all day Saturday. This morning has not started off well. We had donuts brought in and I had TWO, with sprinkles. That is half my daily alloted calories! Now I'm freaking out because I don't know what I should have so that I'm not eating the rest of my calories for lunch! And since I'm about to have my monthly I'm craving sweet! I just want to walk over the donut box and have a donut for lunch! |

I've only been on the sight 2 days now and a usefull tool I have found is NEW RECEPI...you basically imput your recepi, (like your pb&j) and it calculates everything for you. If you have a certain bread or peanut butter and jelly you use, you can put the code numbers and it calculates it exactly. Then you just tag it and it's there for future uses. Mediumpetite....Thanks so much for the tag info! I put tags on things, but I was not using them properly. Now it will be easier for me to imput some of my meals since I have the same thing for snacks and certain meals.

Hi there, I'm new to CC, but so far I'm enjoying. Really enjoying the forums and everyones great advise and support. Me in a nut shell....I'm 27 (28 in May), 5'2 and 246lbs. I want to get down to 130. When I started my pursuit to be a healthier me I was at 254.4 and in 3 weeks I have worked down to being 246. Go me! Exercising is my enemy. I hate it. It's easier when I have a buddy, but since I don't always have someone to work out with I found Tai Chi and Zumba which I don't mind going to do alone since I am with a group of people. I have a lot of incentive to be healthy...through work we are doing a weight loss challenge so whoever looses the most at the end of 22 weeks wins some money. And I have a friend who has said that when I get down to my goal weight of 130 will pay for a trip to Orlando for two friends and me! I am very excited and very determined to be healthy! I wanted to congratulate everyone on such great weight loss success! Keep it up! You now have one more cheeleader in your corner. |

So I just got on this website today and I have to say that all of you have given some great advise! I will have to look into my BMR to see if I am at a good rate. So far I have been steadily loosing 1 or 2 lbs a week, but I don't want to gain it back because I'm not doing it correctly. |
