I have this problem too, even tho I dont run, I still find some exercise moves really hard, with bigger breasts. ( 42H). These work, they are pricey, but they are fantastic !( these are the ones that they use on the before pictures of the Biggest Loser.) START Nov 12-14: 316.8 What motivates me: I have alot of reasons to lose weight, most because I want to be healthy for my family, and live a long life. I would also like to start a family soon, and the thought of gaining more weight with pregnancy is just too much for me .. haha I ofcourse would also love to look smoking hot ! haha |

I would never recommend ppl to not watch what they eat, Im just saying that if you set something as offlimits ppl feel way more restricted than they are. enjoying the foods you love in moderation, is something that ppl can do for the rest of their lives !! and thats the key here i think, and why so many ppl gain back the weight they lost, cus they cant continue to restrict the things they love forever.( and to a certain degree thats what happened to me, why Ive gained back some of the weight Ive lost.. along with lots of other things) I will be the first one to admit, that i love foods that arent that great for me, something things I can do without ( oreos for example) , others moderation is key, and trying to find alternatives that help you along the way. Anyway this is way off topic, my whole point was to let you know that you shouldnt get discouraged over water weight, i have in the past and its sucks ! ** EDIT As I said earlier, you should really check out prevention.com .. great website, with nice recipes.

Yes it is right there in my profile, and just like you Ive come up with other ways to enjoy the things I love by tweeking recipes etc and using healthy alternative. I dont eat oreos any more I make oatmeal raisin cookies with flax seeds. I dont eat french fries any more, I make my own in the oven with olive oil and spices. ive even made my own icecream with natural ingrediants. I woudlnt eat a 100 calorie snack pack if my life depended on it ... why would i when I could have my own homemade cookie at 80 cals each, or my own lemon poppy seed muffin , made with wholesome natural ingredients. You guys are all so quick to judge, this was the first post Ive replyed to in a LONG time, because I honestly felt that I should let you know that you are not the only one who struggles with sodium issues. Sorry to have tried. So much for trying to help ppl out. my god. |

OK so obviously i didnt do a good job with getting my point accross. It doesnt have to be Pizza, or fries, or Burgers or whatever ( for the record I havent eaten a burger or deep fried fries in as long as I cant remember.) they were just examples that i came up with to make the point that MY body retains water very easily, this is why I cannot have any processed foods in my diet.I do try my best to stay away from garbage food, and for the most part eat a pretty clean/ unprocessed diet. Comparing me to an Alcoholic .. wow that's just classy. =) The mentality that certain foods are OFFLIMITS is what leads to serious binges. My original post was to let Dr grim Know that water weight comes off, its just water, every one has it, just some ( like me ) have it more severe than others.and to let him know that he shouldnt get discouraged by a few lbs of water weight ! Im sorry if you took so much offense in my post as to equate me to someone who is an alcoholic, for someone like my self who was once a train smoker, and someone who has over come a drug addiction, Im sorry you are rude and i do take offense.

My ex was once having that problem too, he coudlnt keep anything down, he was given some type of pills, and was told to fast for 4 days. During which he was only allowed to have clear broths. I would seek a 2nd opinion tho. |

I think you missed my point, my point was that processed foods that are high in sodium dont mix with me, in post ppl they cause 2 maybe 3 lbs water weight gain, where for me they can cause 10-15lbs. You seemed to be rather freaked out by 2-3lbs of water weight, which imo isnt very much. The best ways to reduce water weight, is to pee !! and Drink lots of water ! Its unrealistic to avoid foods or food groups untill goal weight, eating everything you want in moderation is what works, for most ppl. Moderation really is the key to success here, not depriving your self of the things you like untill you are at a healthy weight, learning to eat properly and in healthy portions in a healthy manor is what this forum is all about. as a side note you will notice that half fat cheeses and other Low fat items will have almost 2x the sodium amounts of those with reg fat, they add more sugar and salt to items to replace to fat so that they still taste good. I see that you are new to CC, just as a tip Prevention magazine has a great website for healthy recipes. You might want to check their site out.

I have to reply to this post ... I totally feel your pain about water weight, salt and I do not mix, we have a love hate relationship, meaning I love it .. it hates me. I dont know how to explain really what happens, but mostly if I have a high sodium intake day it is nothing for my weight to be up 10+lbs the next day, my body loves to retain water. My dr says that this will go away once i lose weight, BUT what he doesnt understand is how Im suppose to lose weight, if i can regain everything ive lost in water weight after one meal. Im sorry its really hard to explain, let me see if i can give an example. By having a high sodium day, it is easy for me to gain 10+lbs over night, and that really sucks ! and by High Sodium I mean more than 2000mg of sodium per day.( which is lower than the 2400mg recomended by adults) Dont get discouraged by water weight, just drink lots of water and pee lots ! *ive edited this example since it was thrown way out of proportion since i gave a crappy example anyway * |

Yes pls !! I also want to have a baby in the near future, but i think im way too unhealthy to start trying yet, the thought of gaining more weight is so scary ! Would like to lose about 80lbs or so before I try to have a baby, and even then ill still be over weight =/

You could fry up a few chicken breasts with alittle garlic or whatever spice you like, then once its cooked add in a cassarole dish, frozen veggies, cooked pasta or rice and a can of cream of whatever soup ( mushroom or chicken) bake for a while, then top off with a little cheese and bake again ! |

Hey everyone !! Just wanted to stop by and say hi, even tho I havent been writing .. I have been lurking, Ive had a super busy week, with 4 exams, but atleast Im on break now, just a short break, but its better than nothing. I havent been doing well, with eating clean, studying for 4 exams kinda blew that out of the water, and now im suffering from extreme water retention ! My feet and fingers are so swollen ! Its ok tho, I know how to get it back to normal =)I am hoping to still somehow pull off a loss for this month * fingers crossed* Hope all is well with you guys ! ~Laurie |

Thats exactly it, I just need to know my numbers., I dont know if Im way above the caluclators ( giveing me way too high of a deficit) or way below and eat way too much, now i know that my diet isnt perfect, but I will say that 75% of the time Im on track, and the times that im not on track its not like I go back to my old ways or anything but I should be losing weight imo. What got me was yesterday, I my weight loss ticker said * oh its 88days without an update..* so it showed no data.. I updated it .. and I had to add one lb !!!!!!!!! in 88days .. i managed to lose nothing. well thats a lie, I lost the same 10lbs 6 or 7 times .. but that doesnt count !! haha Today is grocery day. and Im excited, I love buying groceries, im always excited to see if they have new veggies I have never tried, or sales on new fruit that i usually dont buy because of the price. Glad to see everyone is well ! |

Did someone say Mongolian grill ...... !!!!!!!!!!!!!! LOL I cant wait till friday !! Love that place, and all its veggie and noodle goodness !! haha Here things are the same, busy busy busy, holding firm on 289ish .. ugh =( but thats ok .. Dont know if you all follow my journal, but Ive contacted the University about getting my metabolism tested, and coninsidentally, they have just purchased a new fancy peice of equiptment that does just that !! and they are looking to do a validity study, after hearing my story ( read: struggle) they say im exactly what they want, and have offered me all their services for FREEEEEEEEEE !!!! ayayayayayay !! So happy .. it apparently includes, testing, nutritional councelling, and an exercise coach ( YUCK!!) and then retesting after about 6months or so. Cant you tell im happy ? YAY !. |

Hey all .. this thread moves so quickly !! This mornings weight in was 288.8... thats 2lbs down from yesterday. I wont beleive it is here to stay untill I dont see 290 for atleast a week or 2.. since I have seen 288 before .. a few times actually.. I dont want to be disappointed if I see 290 again ! I have been busy with school etc, and trying to get my invitations done, I feel like I have been working on them forever ! Today is my 1 year CC anniversary, boy times flys when you are having fun !! I have lost about 40lbs in one year. not too bad, atleast I know that its off for good, since it took me so long to lose it ! Hope everyone is well !! ~ Laurie ! |

Pam you should consult your dr, maybe there is something that he/she cna suggest you do to make it easier for you at home ? Hang in there my friend, simple changes can change your life, as it has changed ours. I am hoping that everything works out for you and that soon you will be healthy and strong. I will keep you in my thoughts =) Just wanted to check in as I havent posted much here in the past week or so, I have been busy with school, and basically busy doiung nothing HA ! I never had such a great weekend food wise, althought I ate healthy both days for breakfast and lunch, I had mongoilan grill for dinner one night, and Pizza the next, we ordered pizza from a diffrent place this time, and I didnt instantly gain 10lbs !! Although I am still retaining some water, It isnt nearly as bad as it usually is, so im thinking that maybe the other place may use alot more salty toppings, even tho the pizza we had last night didnt taste less salty. Looks like everyone is having a good FEB 1st weigh in, I was discouraged at first, but Im not now. i know that I can do this, its just taking way longer than i thought it would. one more thing that i need to concentrate on is not rewarding weight loss with food, im so sensitive to salt that it destroys my progress. but yet I keep doing it, over and over and over again. Maybe i will have to reward with sweets haha hope all is well !! ~Laurie |

Im having a fab weekend with my love, its the first weekend in a long time where we have been alone, and been able to do as we please, Yesterday we spent the day shopping, it was fun and we had fast food for the first time in a long time ! Nice to have a free day every now and then. Today we are suppose to work on our wedding inviatation, so lets hope that goes as planned. I had a horrid Friday, just as I was getting ready to go out for lunch with my friend, I noticed that my laundry room floor had huge patches of water on the floor !!! Our furnace ( which is next to the laundry room) had a valve let go and water was comming out !!! So i had to phone the furnace guys, and my friend ( to cancel) so while I was waiting I had to try and get buckets for the water not to flood the whole room, then change them as we had to wait 2 hours for the furnace guy. Once he did arrive he was here working for over 2 hours ! everything seems to be working great now !thankfully nothing was damaged. So I used the time to clean my house, LOL This mornings weight is at 290.2 I would have thought since I had fast food and salty snacks for dinner that It would be up more than that, oh well Im happy !!! This month is almost over, and even tho I have made progress it doesnt seem enough to me, I really want to lose another 50 lbs or so, that is enough for me at the moment. That would make me thinner than I ever remember being, even tho i would still be over 230lbs. Congrats everyone on your great numbers, I cant wait to see how much we all lose in the first month alone !! Its going to be so great to see our progress all year round. I too an addicted to the scale, I weigh in almost everyday, but i usually only record as when My weight is lower than the previous !! I am finally back to normal after having Pizza last saturday. Almost a week, to get rid of the 10lbs of water weight I gained. I have seriously lost the weight from 295- 289 at least 6 or 7 times now.. and its starting to wear on me, others it seems can induldge everynow and then and not gain 10lbs instantly !! Me on the other hand I think I need to stop, kidding my self, and really get back to business. My parents left yesterday, for a 3 month holiday in island Paradise ! I am sad, I miss my parents very much, we are a super close family, esp me and my mother. Them being gone will make losing weight easier, since I wont be tempted to just eat what everyon else is having, I will be cooking more for Anthony and I and not for the 4 of us, ( my dad is very picky) this makes cooking healthier things very tricky. Going our for lunch with a friend, One that I havent seen since before Christmas, so im excited about that, will do my best to make healthy choices, I would imagine that we will end up at the mongolian grill .. we almost always do. It annoys me too how ppl think that walking is so simple, Im doing a health course this semester, and they were listing activities and its effect on your breathing/heart beat etc, and it listed Walking = little to no change from resting state. And I thought ... hmmm not when you are 300 lbs ! Congrats everyone on their weight loss so far this month !! Sorry that i havent been on here much, as I was busy with helping my parents pack their luggage and getting some mommmy and me time in ( can I still say mommy and me time at 28 ?) I dont think I could walk that fast on the treadmill, I had a hard time keeping up to 3.5km .. Keep up the great work ! Liza, I love the fact that your dog brings you toys !! That is so cute !! I want a dog so bad, but not just any dog, I want a PUG, lol Anthony says that only I would want the ugliest dogs on earth, but i think they are cute. * brought to you from my journal entry* Cus its way too early in the morning to type out my whole weekend again !! I had a super busy weekend, lots of shopping, and family around. As my parents are leaving to go south on Thursday, my cousins and all came out for turkey dinner yesterday, had lots of fun with them, as usual, my cousin is one of the funniest guys on earth, he is this great story teller, and the oddest things always happen to him. We had an early dinner/lunch cuz my other cousin had to work at 8pm, so we ate at 330, instead of usual around 7pm. It was very diffrent eating so early like that, but I wasnt really hungry later in the evening, I just had a cookie later and was satisfyed. Oh saturday we picked up some more stuff for my invitations, and Anthony and I made 2 prototypes last night, they both look more or less the same, they just have diffrent font, and ribbon, but the design is identical. So we will decide together with my parents today, which one we like the best and continue to make them ! yayay !! Im hoping to get them out by monday/ tuesday next week. We had an eventful staurday, as our furnace wasnt working properly, and it was -25 degrees outside, so we had to get the service man in, he tracked dirt and snow in all over my floor, and the cat was scared **** !! She doesnt like ppl... at all. I also had a horrible allergy attack on saturday, I swear I sneezed over 150 times in less than 1 hour ( no exageration at all) the back of my throat was so raw that it hurt to swallow =( It was ****, after a few hours tho I did feel better ( my meds kicked in I took a double dose) so with our house now having heat we headed off to costco. We got one of those Costco Pizzas, that we have always wanted to try, Pizza my friends is EVIL !!!!! Today I am up 9lbs from saturday morning !!! Short list of this entry ... Invitations = progress made. -25 = no fun if you have no heat. 2x dose of meds = sleepy Laurie .. I slept for 13 hours saturday night !! pizza = evil !! pizza = destroys all the progress I had made this month !! Pizza = evil !!!! I know its all water, so i can laugh at it, but still it makes me mad !!! Oh well I just need to focus on water, and make sure I take my duretic ! Hope all is well with everyone, and that everyone had a good weekend !! |

As i read wishiwasskinnys journal entry I thought about this...here is what i wrote .. it might help someone. If not it certainly has helped me. This journal entry reminds of something that i once heard on tv. It actually really helped me when I quit smoking cold turkey in 2007 ( i smoked well over a pack a day) its pretty much as follows: In this life we have many things, but one of the most important things we have is our word, if we give someone our word, and then we dont follow through, it is reflected in how that person views us. If we make a promise to ourselves and we break that promise, it is reflected in how we view ourselves. If I cannot count on myself to uphold the promises i have made to me.... how can I expect anyone else to trust me when I make them a promise. This ofcourse is easier said then done, unfortunately we cannot vow ( as I did with smoking) never to eat (smoke) again, if only life were so simple... if i could vow never to eat again, I know i could do it ... its once i start ... sometimes I cant stop !!! |

welcome to the group Bitty ! Feel free to come back before the 1st and give us an update on how things are going with you. My day has just started, jut seen Anthony out the door for work, and now im contemplating meeting a friend for coffee after lunch, but its -25 outside !! and I dont really feel like walking in that temps. MY weight seems to be holding steady between 288.5 and 289.5 I just want a 7 in there somewhere .. is that too much to ask for !!! This semester Im taking a course on nutrition on health, the first assignment is to track our food intake/ exercise for 7 days. Unfortunately we have to use a specific website, so I have todo it 2x if I want to hve that info here on CC as well. The website I have to use is www.fitday.com it is free and actually quite good, I dont think that it has a community tho, but the nutritional break down of foods is great ! Tonight I think we will be going out for dinner as usual on friday nights, yay !! for stirfry buffet !! As usual I will be loading my plate with veggies and having my sauce on the side. If they made bras as supportive as we all are there would be less complaints among women !!! Liza ... as usual you crack me up .. crappy day .. haha In fact i had a great day !!!! I didnt sit in water on the bus !! and i remembered to birng everything I needed with me !! yayay !! I walked on the track for almost 35mins .. and ge this I did something that i have never done before ... I RAN !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! everyone was running except me .... So I was like screw this I can run too !! and I did. For my last 5 laps, the first .25 of the lap I ran, then walked for the rest then ran again 5 times !!!!!!!! YAYAYAY me !! So happy about that, iv always wanted to run, I do have wayyyy too much bouncage tho, even tho I did buy a 85$ enell sports bra !! Oh well the fact remains that i did something that i didnt think I could do. I ran to what equaled 1.25 lenghts on the track !! and it didnt kill me !! Hope everyone is having a fantastic day !!I didnt have time to weigh in this morning, someone was a sleepy head and stayed in bed way too long.. and had to rush to make it to the bus on time !!!
