| Fitness | Nike+ Running program or similar. Measures pace and distance? | Aug 14 2009 22:25 (UTC) |

try searching pace + running + songs... if you know what pace you want to run at you can search songs by a certain pace... there are lots of sites that tell you the equivalent BPM ( beats per minute) to a certain pace ( ie 8 minute mile ) try this one: http://www.bestworkoutmusic.com/search.html it's not the one I have been on but I can't seem to find the other one and the above seems pretty good...

Have you tried downlaoding MP3 programs to your player from sites such as Podrunner, they have interval programs that give you the cues, ie speed up, slow down, with a good beat... I find it's all in the music to get me moving and although I have and LOVE my Nike+ it still needs the beat. Or there is also a site that you can put your pace in that you want to run at and they tell you what songs fit that pace so you can plug in your fav's and just run away to the beat and always hit whatever pace your aiming for... can't remember the site for that one but just google it, you'll probably find a few BJ |

| Health & Support | chest pain from working out? | Jul 10 2008 15:52 (UTC) |

| although one can never rule out heart problems it does sound like you've taxed your muscle... did you do alot of stretches after your work out ? The chest muscles contract toward the centre when they're tight which makes it hard to breathe.. I've had this a few times when I've worked out and done alot of push ups and didn't make the time to stretch... give your chest muscles a rest and do alot of stretches to open it all back up. If it doesn't get better quickly after stretching you may want to check with your doctor... perhaps you pulled something in the end ...

| Perhaps your not anemic ... have you explored thyroid problems ? THey tend to run in the family so if anyone in your family has an over or under active thyroid it makes you more likely to have similar problems... although i am anemic at the best of times I found that most of the symptoms I had ( tired all the time etc) were cause by my thyroid crapping out on me... None of the iron supplements do anything for me and changing my diet had no effect either.. thats what made my doctor test the thyroid function... perhaps get them to add that test when you go in, it's only a blood test so not painful or anything ( unless you don't like needles !) good luck.... | |||
| Motivation | Not Actually Counting Anymore? | Apr 07 2008 16:43 (UTC) |

| I'm with you, actually putting the items onto my log gets annoying at times and I usually forget so I've pretty much stopped as well. Still losing weight as the food choices I make now are much better, about the only time I actually log stuff is when I'm eating something new and want to know the facts about that particular food item. I just don't have the time to count calories and although this site has been an awesome help in getting that under control the most important part about weight loss is keeping it interesting so I guess I'll have to find something new to occupy my time.... | |||
