OK. I can not believe this thread is still going after all this time and I totally bailed on it. So glad to read people are doing well, my son is 4 1/2 now so I cant believe I started this thread a year ago. I have gone from 220 last year to 235 and am now at 208. What a battle this weight thing is............so hard but I will not ever give up. My family means to much to me to give up.

Just thought I'd stop by to say hello. Sounds like you guys are having a nice time chatting. I am glad the thread is doing well.

I think I found some help in my wight loss tragedy. I found a friend who's about my size and we are weighing in together. She comes over and we get on the scale together. It's been a big help to get me off my binge road. So I havent lost any yet, but I have stopped the total obsession and the big binges have stopped for now, thank GOD!

Anywhoo just wanted to say hi!

Welcome welcome to all newbies! Wow - this thread is growing strong.

Well I only did one 1/2 way good thing today - took a mile walk and most of it was up a very very steep hill - so I suppose that's better than nothing. It's been raining in San Diego for weeks now and it's very odd, the first real rain in the 21 years I Have lived here! Laughing

I just need to gain control of my eating - I am so over the top out of control, and it seems like the harder I 'TRY" the worse it gets. Sometimes I think I need some serious intervention. Has any one here thought of stomach surgery??

deamarie! welcome!

And boy do I hear you about the scale - I gained 2 pounds this weekend, but again am hoping its water - weekends are always hard for me and this weekend we had Friday off too. So I need to work my butt off for Fridays weigh in (on my new scale that weighs me higher than the old one).

Hi Vicki & loosin -it nice to have you here! Where do you guys live? And yes! I am in San Diego! Lovely sunny San Diego - I have lived here for 21 years and LOVE IT!
I just have not done much of anything since our weigh in. Right after I posted my weight on Friday we found out we had a birth in the family so had a road trip to Los Angeles. Needless to say road trip and diet do not go hand in hand! So it was a bad day - today I was better - breakfast - a very light lunch and good healthy dinner. Now I just gotta get on my elliptical!

WOW!

Welcome to all of you and thank you for joining in!

So I remember again tonight another reason I need to loose weight and not to eat a lot at night. I have a stomach problem that compounds things. I have my Doctor right now pushing a small surgery to keep the stomach cap closed - mine has no cap at all anymore and occasionally if I forget a pill or eat something that doesn't agree with me I get sick. Yup - I simply can not contain it and it comes right back up. Tonight for dinner I had tomato/roasted red pepper soup and some cheese and crackers. For some reason my stomach didn't like at and I lost it all. The doctor said weight loss will help this but not fully - I just hate the thought of surgery.

Anyway so I went out and got a brand new scale today that is weighing more than my old clunker - go figure, the new one is probably right but we will see what it tells first thing in the morning??????

So I hope I have everyone now.

Mavmom - Patricia 2-15-08 (then list weight)

When you all get a chance why don't we simply copy and paste our list of names into every post along with our real names (if you want) and our weight! I'll try to get on line early and do mine :)

 GOOD LUCK TO US ALL!

OK so lets do weigh ins - I am fine with that too! What day do you both want to weigh? I normally do Monday mornings - but that's not working - I know darn good and well it's because over the weekend I am weak - my husband and I eat together and I am not as good as when I am alone during the day. So what ever day is fine, I think once a week is good.

Maybe I eat backwards too - I know you are supposed to eat most of your calories during the day and have light dinners - but I used to just fast most of the day, eat dinner and loose. Not anymore though. And yes my portions are a problem. Maybe I need to really start measuring - yikes what a HASSLE!

PS - are you keeping a food diary? And how would you both feel about sharing our weigh in's? Accountability helps I think? Thoughts?

Hi! Oh I can not remember the last time I ate fast food. This is my big problem now - I am eating OK and working out and still no pounds are dropping.

When I had a desk job I lost a lot - I was able to control my day - breakfast before work - I ate salad at my desk for lunch - worked all day long so by the time I got home, I ate a small dinner and slept! I slept a lot too about 9 to 10 hours a night -  I lost 100 odd pounds and NEVER exercised!

Now I eat better - work out - I am missing something??? Ahhhhhhhhh!

I still struggle with my food - that's why I am here but I work out now - it's like having a personal trainer - new friends - and play dates for your kids all in one!

Hello,

So nice to have such a quick reply from someone. Oh I feel guilty all the time about food. Eating to much - too little - to greasy - heck - I could overeat celery. I am glad we are about the same age - I think age has a LOT to do with how the weight comes off - or doesn't. Keeping busy is good, are you a stay at home Mom? How old are your kids? I think loosing weight is especially important for my son - I don't want him to grow up with a Mom who is big - I just don't - I want to be able to re enforce the positive aspects of exercise and healthy eating - so why is it still so hard. Can you give me a typical example of a food day for you?
