Good morning everyone.

Cheryl I hope your daughter and grandson are doing well.

The weather here hasn't been that great.  We really didn't get any spring weather and now I'm wondering if we're going to get summer weather.  Lots of rain though so everything is green.  I know I shouldn't complain about the rain with all those families in floods and losing their homes.  My heart goes out to them.

I've had a good week with my plan.  I'm down 3 pounds.  Yeah!!!!!!!  The tough part will be these next two weeks.  My plan is to maintain.  We're off tomorrow for two weeks.  I'm so excited.  Like I said it's been a crazy week getting everything ready at home and work for this trip but it'll be worth it.  I'll crash on the plane.

I hope everyone has a great couple of weeks.  I'll post picture of my trip when I return as long as I can figure it out.   Becky

Hello everyone,

I'm glad to hear everyone is doing well.  Ro it is good to hear from you again.  I hope you continue to feel better.

Betty, I bet those kittens do keep you laughing.  My dogs have me laughing at them all the time.  And Cheryl I'm thinking of you and your family this week.  We're all waiting to hear the good new of the arrival.

My week has been very hectic.  Both of my kids graduated yesterday from college.  It was a wonderful day.  I'm so proud of both of them.  My Daughter gave the commencement speech for her class.  I cried.  No only because she was speaking but because she talked about her journey and the obsticles she's had to overcome with being a single parent.  I now she'll be fine.  My son graduated with honors and he looked so tall and handsome up there.  I can't believe they're both  moving on to the next phase of their lives.

I got on the scale Thursday and I'm down must under another pound.  Slowly but surly I'll get there.  I really want to check out the walk away the pounds DVD's.  My knees don't appreciate the work out I'm putting them through.  I just need to take the time to find them.  I went out shopping today for cloths.  My cloths are too big and don't look to good on my.  I'm down 20 lbs. now

My husband and I are leaving a week from today for a two week cruise around the Norwegian Fiord's and Ireland.  I'm soooooooo excited!!!!  It'll be a challenge to keep up my workout routine and watch what I eat but I'm determined to lose this additional 30 pounds.

I'll try to write before I take off.  Have a great week.   Becky

Happy Monday Everyone!

This weekends weather was wonderful.  I got so much done in the yard.  I didn't get everything planted I was wanting, I'll try and finish up tonight.

Della your Grandson is adorable.  What a smile.  Grandchildren are a joy to have around.

Ro, good to hear from you.  I hope your body adjusts to the new medication and the side effects subside.  Happy belated birthday and Happy anniversary.  I'd love to have a hot tub, especially after working in the yard.  I'm jealous.

Weight loss and new pets, what more could anyone want!

Have a great week, I'll check in later.  Becky

Good morning all,

I'm back from our long weekend in Chicago and a husband who's feeling much better.  We both needed the time away.

I haven't been good at all about documenting my food intake and writing here so my new goal is to start fresh and track everything again and check in more frequently.

Today was my weigh in and I haven't lost anything for a couple of weeks.  I'm hanging at 196.  At least I didn't gain, for that I'm so I'm grateful.  The further away from 200 the better.

Betty and Della your gardens sound wonderful.  What a great thing to be around.  If the weather cooperates this weekend my Husband and I will be outside doing yard work.  We had a lot of our bushes not make it throught this past winter so we're needing to get them pulled out and other plants planted.  I'm really feeling behind with my yard.  We're digging out our front side walk and putting in a little patio out front so we'll have to move things around.  I'm anxious to have it done and use it.  Our summer is getting hectic, next weekend both my son and daughter graduate college.  My daughter has a job and is looking for a place to live so she and my granddaughter will be moving out by the end of summer.  Life will really change around my house then.

Cheryl thanks for sharing your pictures.  It's nice to put a face with the name.

I'll check back soon.  Becky

Good evening everyone.

Just a quick update, I haven't fallen off completely.

Last week we had a really big scare here.  My husband was taken into the hospital with signs of a stroke.  The Doctors put him through every imaginable test and in the end diagnosed it as a TIA.  (A stroke wannabe)  He is now on a medication that thins out the platelets and also has added aspirin.  Thank God he has no permanent damage and there were no signs of a blockage.  It was very surreal.  The good that'll come out of this is that he's starting to watch what he eats.  We both need to be better at that.

So now that I've got my head straight I can get back to logging my food and catching up with all of you.

Cheryl, I hope all is going well with your foot.  Take care of yourself, the aspirin really does work.  Della I'm glad you;ve got some sun.  Up here in the north we're still waiting for it and warm weather.  I'm afraid we're going to have a cold spring and summer.  I'm really thinking of Ro,  and hope all is well with her too.

I'm still keeping up with my exercising but boy do I have aches and pains in places that never ached before.  My family and I are heading to Chicago this weekend.  Both kids graduate from college on June 6th so we're making this a celebration weekend.  We thought this would be a good time since both have got jobs and will be starting their busy lives.  We're all looking forward to getting away for a while.  We plan to do a lot of walking so that'll have to count for my exercising.

I hope everyone has a great Wednesday.  Becky

Hi All,

I'm back.  It's been crazy for me lately.  The weather's been up and down so whenever there's a nice day and it's not raining we're working outside trying to get the yard and deck ready for summer.  I've also been busy getting ready for our annual fundraiser at the theater.  It's this weekend, our "Fisher Widow's Cabaret show"  We have a silent auction and show.  This years theme is "Beach Party Bonaza".  It's always a great time but a lot of work getting ready.

Anyway, things are moving along for me.  I'm slowly dropping the pounds.  As of today I'm down a total of 18 pounds.  Whoo Hooo!!!  The pants that were really tight are beginning to be baggy on me.  I'm still working out 5 days a week and trying to mix it up.  I've been meaning to get the walking DVD's.  I think they'll be much kinder to my knees.  The Biggest Loser DVD's are great only that there's a lot of squats and lunges and my knees are not handling them so well.

I've tried to catch up on what you've all been up to.  I'm glad to see you're all doing well and hanging in there.  You all do inspire me to stay on track.  I'll try and be better about posting.  Happy Belated birthday Cheryl.

Have a great weekend all!  Becky

Hello everyone,

It's been pretty hectic for me so I'm now trying to catch up on a few things.  I weighed in on Thursday and am down another lb.  It's slowly coming off, I'm grateful for that.  I'm feeling so good.  Only 1 more lb. to go and I'll have reached my first goal of getting below 200 by the end of April.  When that scale reads anything but a 2 in the front of the number I you'll all hear a ver HAPPY scream!

You've now inspired me to get the walk away the pounds DVD.  I'm doing the Biggest Loser workouts.  I do like them but my knees are starting to bother me.

It's finally starting to look like spring around here.  The sun is shinning and it's in the low 50's.  I've been able to get out during my breaks at work and go for a quick walk around the nearby lake.  That really helps getting out in the freash air.

Have a great week all.     B

Good afternoon Ladies,

I have to say it's been wonderful reading all that is happening with all of you.  Thanks for letting me be a part of this.

Betty, your trip sounds wonderful, and how exciting about your Daughter!  I think that's wonderful that he came and talked with you before asking her.  I hope someday my Daughter will find someone as considerate. I hope you get your TOM figured out before your trip.

Ro, you do give me the motivation to keep working out.  I've been working out to the Biggest Losser's DVD's.  I really enjoy them but there's a lot of squats.  My knees are really sore.  I'm thinking I need to change things up a bit so I'm going to look into the walking workouts.

Well, my weigh in day is Thursday and I'm down another 2 lbs.  Again I was dancing around the house.  I was home with my Granddaughter and dogs.  My Granddaughter didn't know what to make of it so she just started dancing with me and the dogs barked a long.  I'm sure it was a sight!!!

Speaking of cravings.  I saw a commercial for a DQ Blizzard the other day and that's all I've been thinking about having since.  Eventually I'll give in and have one.  Hopefully someone will be around to share it with me.

I hope everyone has a great weekend.  B

Good Afternoon

Cheryl I'm glad to hear that your Daughter is doing better.  I pray for her continued improvement.  Keep us posted.

Ro, way to go!  You really give me hope on my weight loss.

Jenny, way to go for you too.  Every little bit helps and you'll find it getting easier as you go.

I weighed in Thursday and I'm down another 1.5 lbs.  My husband has even made comments that it shows.  What a guy!

Have a great weekend everyone.

Wonderful Friday everyone!

Betty, I'm glad you went in and got something to help you.  I can only imagine how you're feeling.  It can't be good!  I hope you get to feeling great for your trip.  That's sounds like a wonderful trip.  And the 1/2 lb loss is great.  A weight loss is a loss no matter what.

You've all talked so much about those walking DVD's I'm going to have to check them out.  I've been sticking to my workouts.  I really sleep good at night.  I need to be more aware of what I'm eating.  I didn't do too bad the last couple of days but I need to do better.  I've dipped into my Granddaughter's Easter Candy.  But I didn't eat alot.  Normally I'd really have pigged out.  It's progress.

Yesterday was my 26th anniversary so tonight we're going out to celebrate.  Everyone have a great weekend.       Becky

Hello all

I've got a couple of minutes so I thought I'd check in.  I'm doing ok on my calorie counting.  I'm with you Revins on tracking.  I find I do so much better when I actually write down everything that I take in.  It makes me think more before I eat.

Jenny, hang in there.  Just let everyone know you're really trying to watch what you eat.  When they see you're serious about it they'll back off and start supporting you more.  The Ladies here at work didn't know how to handle it when I started declining treats.  Someone would either bring something into my office and leave it at my desk if I didn't come out or I'd hear, "just a little won't hurt you".  Now they just tell me there's treats and leave it at that.  Last week someone told me that I looked like I've lost weight.  That really helped my motivation.

I've been sticking to my excersise plan and I've set Thursday's as my weigh in day so I'm hoping for another 1 lb loss this week.  Wish me luck.

Have a great day!  Becky

Blessed Easter Everyone!  Thank you for all your encouragement.

My table is set and the dinner is all in the oven.  Just waiting for my guests to arrive.  My Son, Daughter and Granddaughter are here.  I've got my Mother, Sister and her Son and my Brother and his Wife, possibly their two Sons coming for dinner.  It'll be a nice afternoon.   I've got a bit of a break so I thought I'd check in and wish everyone well.  It doesn't feel too much like spring let alone Easter around here.  It's been lightly snowing since Thursday evening.  All the snow that melted last week has been replaced.  Granted, it's pretty but myself and most everyone else are really getting sick of it.  It does sound like the suns coming back tomorrow and it's going to warm up this week so the snow won't last long.

I haven't been very good about watching what I've eaten the last couple of days.  My Husband and I went out to a concert on Friday and then out with some friends last night.  It was very enjoyable but.......  I didn't go totally crazy but I didn't totally watch what I was eating and drinking.  I'll enjoy my dinner today and then get back at it tomorrow.

Cheryl, I hope all is well with your Daughter.  Keep us posted.  Thanks for the info on the balance ball, I think I'm going to give that a try.

Ro, I hope your migraines get better, that's gotta be miserable.  Glad to hear about your weight loss.  That is exciting.

Della, hang in there as long as you're eating right and getting your exercise things are changing even when we don't see the number on the scale go down.

Well I hope you all have a wonderful Easter Sunday, talk to you soon.

Afternoon Ladies,

I'm doing the "Happy Dance"  I got on the scale and I'm down 2 lbs after the 1 lb weight gain last week.  Only 5.2 more and I'll reach my first goal of getting under 200!!!!  I'm shooting for the end of April.

It's another sunny day here.  We do have snow in the forecast for tomorrow so I'll enjoy today.  I'll take on your challenge of taking 5 minutes for ourselves, Della.   I'm going tonight to get my hair done.  I love the Gal who does my hair, she always gives me a scalp message so I'll be able to zone out for a couple of minutes.

Have a great day!   Becky

Hello everyone!

It's a beautiful sunny day here today.  All the snow we got on Monday is almost gone.  Of course we still have the ugly snow that was under the new snow left, but today a lot will melt.  Spring is on the way here in MN!

I went out at break for a walk this morning and I'll go again this afternoon as well again this evening with my Husband and the dogs.  I also have my Yoga this afternoon.  My 2nd session, it's very relaxing.

I'm haven't gotten on the scale since last Thursday when it went up a pound.  I decided it was making me too crazy so I'm staying away for a while.  I do think something is changing because I was able to put on a pair of pants this morning and they don't seem as tight as they were the last time I wore them.  I've been very good about logging everything I eat and staying within my calories.  I've even been sticking to my workout routine so you'd figure something's gotta give!

Della, I like your thinking.  It really does make a difference when we just enjoy the moment we're in.

That's a bummer Betty with your period.  It makes me a bit nervous.  I haven't had mine in almost 4 months now, I'm afraid of what's to come when it does come.  Something to look forward to.

Everyone have a fabulous day.    Becky

Thanks all, I'm already feeling better.  It's nice to know there's others out there in the same boat as well as someone to vent and or get advice from.

Revins, We have a Yoga Instructor coming into my work every Wed.  No it's not hard, I find it very relaxing and it seems to work out a lot of my kinks.  It makes for a nice break in the week.

I'm giving my self today off as far as calories go.  I did work out this morning but this afternoon I went to a wine tasting.  Even though we only got a 2 oz. pour for each wine it added up.  I tasted 9 different wines from Spain and Portugal., all wonderful I might add.  I couldn't bring my self to dump any out.  So, now I'm home drinking a TON of water to clear it through my system.  I can already feel myself swelling up.

Anyway, I've decided that I can't look at the scale for a couple of weeks.  I'm driving myself crazy.  So I'll keep doing what I'm doing and change up my workout.   Eventually somethings got to give (you'd think).

I'm slowly figuring things out around here but I haven't figured out how to add friends to my list.

Have a great Sunday!

Thanks.  I haven't totally figured out how to post things on my site or how to set up a profile so here's a little about me.

I'm 46+, married for 26 years come March 27th.  I have a Daughter 25, and a Son 23 as well as a beautiful Granddaughter 5.  Both of my kids are in school and will be graduating June 6th.  Yeah........

About 5 years ago I weighed 255 and lost 70lbs but in the last couple of years have put back on 30lbs.  I really need to lose 40 to get to the goal I have yet to reach.

After getting on the scale in January I decided that I really needed to get serious about my health and do something about it.  I found this website and can't believe all the tools available.  I started logging everything I eat and have logged all activity.  I started doing aerobics and my elliptical in December.

So here's my dilemma. I'm 5'8" and currently weigh 207+ lbs. (I'm lucky I have the height to spread my weight around)  I've calculated my calories at 1500 to lose about a pound a week at the sedentary level.  I do  aerobics 5 days a week for 20 min. weights 3 days for 20 min. and the days I don't do weights I do my elliptical for 20 min.  On Wednesdays I do Yoga for 45 min . and Sunday is my day off.  The first two weeks I lost 7 lbs but have not lost anything since Feb. 14th.  In fact yesterday I got on the scale and gained 1 lb!  I'm not sure what's going on but It's very frustrating.   I have upped my calories to 1700 on workout days.  I don't eat a lot of processed foods, except for the occasional Lean Cuisine at lunch when I'm in a hurry and don't have time to fix something to bring to work.  Does anyone have any suggestions?

I'm normally a very positive upbeat person so I hope this doesn't sound to whinny but I'm really looking for some support now.

P.S.  As soon as I figure out how I'll complete my profile.  Any advice on how to go about that?

Happy Friday!

Would you mind if I joined your group?  I started CC in Feb, I'm 46is and would love to lose 40 lbs.  It doesn't seem to be as easy to lose the weight now as it use to be.

I used this site to calculate my burn rate and this site suggested the 1450 cals a day.

I've been eating fresh fruits, vegetables, and whole grain breads, pastas and cereals.  I eat very little processed foods.  I also enjoy my wine.  Everything gets figured into my food log.

I don't feel tired or hungry that's why I figured the 1450 calories a day was fine.

Ok, this is encouraging, I'm thinking I should be increase my calorie intake now.

I started on CC the beginning of Feb.  I'm a 46 yr old female, 5'8", 207 lbs.  I'm religiously tracking my food intake and working out 5-6 days a week (I started working out in Dec. 07).  I dropped 7 lbs in the first 2 weeks after tracking my cals., and now have lost nothing!  I'm stuck and frustrated!

I have been trying to stay at 1450 cals a day, some days more.  I work out with cardio, strength training and the eliptical 5 days a week.  So from what I'm reading I'm thinking I should up my cals but I don't know how much more.  My burn meter says that I burn 1950 if I don't work out.  1450 seemed like a fair amount to cut back to.

Any advice will be greatly appreciated.  Like I said I'm really getting frustrated.
