132.2 I am going to get more serious also. I have finally agreed with myself on calories. I just get so confused but I think 1300 is my number but if I get close to 1400 I will still be at a decent deficit. I am working out hard 2 days a week and I will start more than walking on the treadmill on off days. I bought a new armband for my ipod so it will be easier to run on treadmill. Here is to the next weigh in!! Ka - glad you are feeling better. Grandson's daycare, babies sent home because of the flu. DD3 will start working there on Monday...oh joy now grandson and daughter can share germy germs with us...Breakout the Airbornne!!!! |

I need to start walking zoo grounds again. I used to do it everyday even if it was snowing or raining. It seems with age my core temp tends to always feel cold. I know I will be complaining when the hot flashes start but maybe not considering I am always freezing. Maybe I will start tomorrow....I do not have a hat to cover my ears today |

132.2 Went to gym twice this week. I feel better about my motiviation....it is coming back. I decided to not get the barbell set because I do live so close to the gym. I just hate going when it is so cold out. The weather is nice today but not sure what the weekend is going to bring....I like to leave it a surprise. |

133.7 Must be the weather....I am so unmotivated. I have just been treadmilling at 3mph for 30 - 40 minutes.....I do not want to over do it when I am unmotivated I am going to sports authority to look at a barbell set and see if it is on sale like it was at Christmas....if so I may get it???? |

131.7 hmmmm??? I will try to be careful over the weekend. Tonight the zoo has an art auction....paintings done by the animals. The keepers put paint on the paper and let the animals walk on it or roll on it. They use non-toxic paint. I checked some of the pictures out this morning and the snake ones are really beautiful. Anyway we will be serving wine and finger foods so I WILL eat and drink in moderation. I hear you about sizes. My favorite brand is Levis because they have such a selection of fits. I do like GAP also but I wait to shop at the outlet store in WA when visiting family. |

I have had quite a few nights where my mind would not shut off. I toss and turn then around 6am I fall fast asleep and my husband wakes me at 8 so I can rush out of bed and get ready for work. I am glad I do not have to dress up for work -- jeans, t-shirt, ponytail on most days. Last night I woke up doing W-3s for year-end payroll and my 4th qtr and year end stuff....I really am procrastinating on getting that done. It does not take long so I put on back burner until crunch time. My time management has gone down the toilet. I did finish bosses presentation for a talk at Purdue.....deer control.....we make a contraception. Well today I am getting my hair cut and colored. My gray roots are blinding...I started to gray in my mid-twenties Chris I weighed 133.7 this morning so we are just about the same weight. You will have to summarize your new book for us as you read it. Janay have you tried a few nights taking benadryl. I had a dr that tell me to take when I had so many sleepless nights. I take for a few nights and it gets me back on track. I did it last week just one night and then several nights after that I slept well. I now have to take again tonight. My daughter took melatonin and it worked for her...natural. Alchohol may make you sleepy at first but it does cause insomnia. Bella what is your major and how much longer do you have in school? I still have dreams about finals and finding out I did not go to a class all semester and found out I had to take a final in it.....lol. |

134.6 Saturday had a slice of pizza and 2 beers then went to SILs house to continue BIL's 40th b-day. SIL could not finish a vodka mix drink so I had to because I will not let good vodka go to waste. So, I did drink but did not get buzzy just enough to add about 450-500 empty non-essential calories. I did not eat much Sunday but i did eat a small bit of chili cheese dip with chips = velveeta cheese and salty chips....gag just thinking about it. I will drink plenty of water today and hopefully tomorrow's number will be closer to 130. Thanks Chris for the encouragement....I will continue working out and hopefully the jelly belly will disappear. My friend started HCG shots and is eating 500 calories....she lost 13 lbs in 16 days.....Oh Lord give that girl some sense. How scary is that. Hormones are creepy critters anyway, why inject them to lose weight. I did a web search last night on HCG and it is what our pregnant bodies produce to keep feeding the baby if we are not eating enough. Think feast or famine....I so want to get to 125 but not at the expense of potentially screwing with my hormones...this being said by a perimenopausal woman |

131.7 Went down a little but I also did not eat that much so when i do eat enough I may go back up so I will not be surprised. Just not feeling up to par so of course eating just does not sound all that wonderful. I may find myself maintaining around 130 although I am going to try for 125. I just do not think it is worth fretting over if it does not happen. I may have a belly no matter what. I will continue eating healthy and working out but if nothing happens then that will be it. I will log for a few more weeks then not log for a few weeks just to see if I can manage the calories and not fret over them. We shall see. Vacation??? In my fantasies!! |

That is great bella!! A few months ago I bought 2 pair of Old Navy Jeans (same size) one pair fit looser then the other and I thought they looked sloppy, now they fit great and I wear them all the time I bought some bottoms with the skirt and l loved them then I bought a tankini top and my muffin top peeks between the two. Yep, I will be looking for the one piece this year!!! |

134.4, on Monday I was 134.8 so I am happy. I want to get back to my 128 but I am not sure if working so hard to stay there is worth it. I am at a good BMI at 135, my clothes fit and I feel good in my clothes. How important is it for me to look great naked? I am not going to wear a bikini, there are some really cute full bathing suits with tummy panals. Yes my only big (no pun intended) issue is the jelly belly. Maybe it is destined to be a part of me, I should give it a name "Jelly". |

I guess being single for awhile we both learned to be REAL WOMAN. I sometimes would break into Helen Ready's"I am woman...hear me roar". I learned how to fix broken underground sprinklers and pipes, toilets, exploding washer pipes (that one made me cry because of all the water mess). I need to get baseboard up, I want my husband to get his hands dirty. He needs to get some confidence in home repair. I cannot do it all. Maybe I will just go buy the wood and have him stain it. I want to put it up mission style with no angles cut. I want to use 1x4 boards. I think it will look great going around the doors and eventually the windows. Wish me luck!!! |

| The Lounge | Can I drink coffee while whitening... | Jan 05 2009 23:43 (UTC) |

I have used the classic crest white strips and I loved them; I also love coffee and stilll drink it along with wine and probably anything else that can stain teeth. I did my teeth over a year ago and they still look good eventhough the packaging suggests every 6 mos. I suggest drinking water after coffee and wine. BTW my teeth had a yellow tint to them also and I loved the effect of the strips, it did not turn my teeth a fake chicklet white...very natural. |

Very cold here. I just get cold to the core. I have been using my treadmill quite abit again to get my blood flowing and warm up. I have been going to the gym twice a week so I am feeling good about doing it because I am such a home body and hate to leave after going home. I could leave work and go straight to gym but I need to check on dogs and let them out. I am just have to get a gift card for DD3 and open a savings account or buy a savings bond for baby. DD3 is still considering moving out so I bought her a pot and pan set with cooking utensils and knives. She wants to pick out her own dishes and towels. Now that the kids are older they get one big thing or money so not so many presents under the tree to watch them open |

Nice to see this forum being active again. We can usually see what each of us is up to in journals but it is nice to get a "conversation" going. O - break ups suck and you have to go through a grieving process. Give yourself that so if you want you can go into a healthy relationship with someone new. |

I push myself when lifting by adding extra weight and finishing my reps. I do not like cardio so I will go hard for 15 minutes on elliptical of bike. I like fun cardio stuff like hiking and hopefully will get snowshoes for Christmas!! |

I am still in phase one and finished A4. I felt like it was the first time I ever did any of these exercises. I wanted to quit halfway through but I pushed through and finished even though I wanted to cry. Have any of you felt like this? If it is happening now how will I ever get through the scary matix stuff!!!! Oh, I worked out at home. At the gym I squat using 75 pounds, this includes the bar. So at home I used 30 pounds worth of dumbbells and leaned against a stability ball against the wall; this was so much harder!!! I guess it is good to change it up a bit. When I did deadlifts one day at home, I filled a bag with 76 pounds worth of dumbbells and lifted it. I had to work harder on my form which made the lifting even harder. I am going to have to invest in some more weights for home even though hubby thinks it is a waste since our gym is right down the road but, some days I just cannot leave the house....I love being home |

I have done the toilet kit myself also and I felt elated when I got it done all by myself!!! I did not do the bucket thing. I turned off the water and flushed a few times to drain all the water. But like Chris said the directions do come with the kit. 132.5 but I have been having tummy issues The kids and baby are going to drive to Sheridan WY today to visit birthmom. I will not say anything mean although I have so much rambling in my head. Sorry God!!

Baby Caleb is doing so well. He is so precious. I hope DD waits to move out of the house for at least a year; I cannot imagine her doing this on her own, in her own apartment....scary. She will be working, going to college and raising a baby. I do like nana...I first thought of a goat but it does sound better then grammy. My mom is an Oma; I was thinking of Omie. Hubby sometimes calls himself Poppy, so I have to tease him about Opium and being a flower..etc. It must be hard to be married to me I never thought about beat the blue with meat.....lol Chris where are you?? |

Wow they looked great. I really enjoy lifting but I do not think I will be able to do what those women did with their tiny non bulky bodies!!!! At the gym I go to there are some women that are lifting very heavy weight and not one of them is bulky, I hope to be one of them someday...I will be!! |

The prone jack knife is a joke.....I mean it.....it is the author's joke on all of us doing this workout. I do not do it alternating with the step-ups, I do them at home in a room with the door closed. I certainly do not want to see myself doing them in a mirror!!! I will workout tonight doing workout B day 3. Since I over-indulged this weekend I will add some cardio. I usually do a total of 15 minutes but I will make it an even 30. I hate cardio

It seems like everyone is so much farther alomg than I am. I am still on stage one and will be starting workout 5. I did workout the first 2 day workouts and did not log just to get my weights figured out so I did not count those two days. So far I am enjoying the gym a bit more and I like eating more. I have a piece of dark chocolate every night and I have been drinking a glass of wine also. I feel so fortunate to be able to eat more. I also lost a pound this first week!! Must be the wine and chocolate...lol |

128.2 Day before yesterday I ate a lemon bar and a pumkin cookie with cream cheese frosting.....my dinner, and I did not have an evening snack. DDs friends family owns a coffee/sandwich/bakery shop. The food is wonderful and she brought over a container of cookies and a lemon bar just for me. Too bad it did not add to my protein only to my happiness of sitting down with a cup of tea and enjoying the much missed amazing lemon bar!!! I do not feel guilty at all because I do not really go for sweets. Going to the movies with a group of friends tonight then going to a house for snacks and drinks. I will be a good girl because I really want to workout tomorrow. |

Hubby bought some whey protein at Walmart. I am going to see what more I can add it too. I did make a shake with skim milk and a banana....it was great for after workout. I could probably try to add to coffee and tea. I got this out of my NROLFW book: for 5 bars 4 scoops chocolate whey protein powder (I have vanilla and will use instead), 2/3cp ground flaxseed, 1/3cp water, 4Tbsp. smooth natural peanut butter (I eat nothing but creamy Jif), 1package splenda or stevia (1tsp?) Mix together in bowl, will be thick but if you think too thick add a Tbsp or 2 of water, divide into 5 balls and shape into bars, seal in plastic wrap and store in refrigerator or freezer. This is funny......book says to eat one at a time....lol 258 calories, 21 grams of protein, 12 grams of carbs, 2 grams of fiber, 14 grams of fat (1 gram saturated fat) Whey protein is also added into cereal milk...wow. |

I expect to gain some weight because this is more calories than I normally eat. I am going to take the authors advice; eat the number of calories calculated then if I do start to gain consistantly I will then eat less. I just cannot seem to get the proper amount of protein. I am going to make the peanut butter whey protein bars, they look really good. |

I finally received my book and did Stage 1 First Workout in A and B. I did the workout at home and I really liked the substitute for the lat pull-down. My biceps and triceps are so feeling it. I can feel that it is not doing to the lats what the cable machine would do. I am really curious about the eating plan. I am barely halfway through my calories and it is already 5:00 pm. It may take me a week to get the calories in me at the proper percentages. I am not a big protein eater so I think I will be adding whey protein to just about everything. I also read some posts about adding silk tofu -- thanks ladies for that great idea. I can see that I am just going to have to fend for myself because I cannot expect my husband and daughter to go along with all the recipes. My husband is trying to eat better and my daughter just has to eat what is in the house. Oh I also hate lunges. When I first joined the gym (which I hardly go to unless hubby drags me) I got a trainer for 3 sessions. He kept trying to get me to do lunges....."dude, I am paying you, forget the lunges...not going to happen!!!". So, I see in this workout I have to do lunges....I did them and I survived. I just fell once.....I still hate lunges!!! |

Yes, as of Monday I am now a grammy to a beautiful perfect little boy. I can stare at this little miracle for hours. The little family came home on Wednesday and we have let the BF stay to help DD3. He is doing wonderful with DD3 and the baby. Last night DD made him stay at his house so he could get some rest. I told him we would not lock the door because I knew he would be back but he did stay home because DD was pretty adamant. Anyway, Chris thanks for the mashed cauliflour recipe, I will try it. I really need to up my protein somehow and up my calories. I know that I am messing with my metabolism by not eating enough and I really want to get rid of this bowl full of jelly of a belly!!! Missed you all but thought about you often. |
