I find their recipes to be bad...
and i agree with you yoonheedme, i made the chicken parm (used the fiber one) and it was so nasty. It tasted like sweet sandpaper on chicken. I also dont like their blueberry (protein) pancakes. Has anyone enjoyed their recipes? Not like, well, its okay for replacement food, but actually enjoyed food. |

every time we order from an italian restaurant i dont let myself order: the side pasta, the gnocchi dishes covered in heavy cream sauces --- and i get the chicken milanese without breading or the buffalo chicken salad.
everytime we order from the chinese restaurant: i dont let myself order: an egg roll (mmmm egg roll) most of the soups anything crispy or spicy ---instead i order: hot and sour soup and chicken with veggies
and if one more damn cake, cookie, or pastry calls out my name im going to poke out my ear drums with Q-tips. I cant stand it anymore. |

i prefer the butterball turkey bacon to Oscar Mayer, for some reason the oscar mayer gets this processed smell to it when i cook it.
You should try turkey sausage. One or 1/2 a link is enough for breakfast and one of the big links is just over 100 calories. there really good with eggs. |

i think there are 7 different shots (as you can tell after one) in a LIT. You can look up the ingredients and count up how many calories in a shot.
we had a fun game, where if you couldnt remember all the ingredients for a LIT you had to drink another one until you got it right.... i still dont remember them (on purpose) |

YAY!!!! you did really well, and i applaud you. i usually get the turkey burger with well done onions and no cheese, its a good option thats not always eggs. If you can handle only eating a few fries then you can tell them to leave em on, and i too have learned to live with out cheesecake. ive decided the second i can fit in my sexy jeans (a pair i fit in 2 years ago) im gettin myself a piece of cheesecake and whatever i want for dinner. I'm treating myself. |

do you eat frozen dinners or canned goods? even though their healthy they are usually extremely high in sodium. even goya black beank soup is 2,000 mg of sodium for the can... some people only eat that sodium count in a day. Sodium can cause bad headaches especially when you combine it with excessive caffiene. |

tell him/her about your diet and/or exercise. They would know your body better than CC's guestimations. Just make sure they know what your doing. I stopped eating red meat for a few months, and my iron count was extremely low... she said either i had to incorporate red meat into my diet or i would have to go on a supplement (i already take enough meds). Through telling her my diet restrictions i avoided taking another pill. They also might come up with another suggestion to help with your diet, help you lose more effectively. |

beans, beans, beans its about 1$ for a bag of beans, a 1$ more for a bag of carrots and a 1$ bag of celery, a few seasonings and some water,.... voila... lentil soup.. and its healthy. one serving is about 250 calories and it makes about 6-8 servings (depending on how big you serve) its cheaper than buying cans of soup, and healthier because it doesnt have all the sodium. buy fruit in season. if you buy asparagus in the summer its about 2$, during the winter its about 5-6$. i go to school in NYC, so there are fruit stands all over the streets, buy from the vendors instead of the supermarkets... great prices when ou go to the supermarket look for the manager special, if your buying meat (steak especially) you can find a big piece of london broil for about 3-4$, enough to last for 2 meals with a salad or a side. banged up cans are on sale, adam sandler was right in big daddy |

good luck with the weight loss! youll find everyone on here is nice (except for a few sour apples)
and who wants to look like Victoria Beckham anyway.. if you really look at her... like really really look at her, its all smoke and mirrors. She has horrible skin from all the make up and she looks like a bug... or an alien. Either one is gross. |

fruits great for you... you just might find it upsets your stomach and makes you have to go to the bathroom from all the fiber, especially when it comes to the berries. but i say pig out (and i mean that in a nice way) on all the fruit you want. Its better for you than any of the cookies or icecream it could be replaced with. |

| Weight Loss | Doeas your husband/boyfriend encourage you? | Apr 11 2008 06:10 (UTC) |

my boyfriend isnt supportive at all. We fight over it all the time. Sunday we went to fridays, because i refused to go to an italian restaurant he wanted to go to (they had nothing diet appropriate. it was more of a pizza place). He became upset when I ordered a turkey burger, he said its not a meal. I wont order an appetizer, or touch his and he gets angry over that too! We go to wallgreens and i buy 100 calorie packs, he buys crunch and munch (my weakness). I order steamed chicken and broccoli, he orders lo mein with black bean sauce. he feels i use my diet as an excuse when i dont want to eat the food he wants to eat (can you get more like a 5 year old?). Hes gaining weight as I'm losing weight, and in some ways it feels so good. he likes the end results of it, and i see it manifested itself physically. but hes not willing to help me when i put in the work to get there. |

| Foods | How important is sodium? | Apr 10 2008 15:02 (UTC) |

sodium can cause lots of bloat... and migraines. i have to eat a diet low in sodium (2,000-3,000 a day) and its much harder than you think. Sodium can trigger bad headaches and migraines but if you dont have problems with bloat or headache keep using the shaker |

They say for teens your supposed to have 1800 minimum for sedentary. Just eat when your hungry, and eat until your satiated. try to eat protien heavy full foods, it will keep you fuller, longer through out the day which is what you need especially at about 10 am when your in that boring class you cant seem to get through. the more you expend, the more you should eat. so if you have a PE period, try to have a granola bar or an apple afterwards (they keep better in a schoolbag). if your teachers wont let you eat, tell them you start to feel sick when your blood sugars get too low, and say you only eat healthy things, like an apple or nuts, usually theyll allow it. if you refuse to eat cafeteria food, bring leftovers from dinner the night before. ask whoever cooks dinner to set a piece aside in tupperware so you can bring it with you the next day. |

ive definitely eaten a whole roll of pillbury cookie dough in one sitting ive also eaten a whole 3 rows (straight down... the entire big package) of oreos while staring at the microwave. ive made brownie mix just to eat it, not lick the bowl, but eat the whole raw mess 2 boxes of mac and cheese straight in my stomach, with no problem... i could probably do it now |

| Foods | Can you eat too many beans?? | Apr 10 2008 04:46 (UTC) |

my point was just that beans are good, not hey lets all live on beans only. I was pointing out that people can survive on them, making them a good choice; i understand that most people dont have to worry about eating every amino acid... just like people dont have to worry about goiter because of iodized salt. |

Matzoh Brye... nothing is better than grandma made matzoh brye... but mom, aunt, or anyother member but yourself will suffice. for every piece of matzoh you need one egg (whip it so its scrambled up). break the matzoh in little pieces and soak it in water until its mushy ish.. and then fry it in either oil or zero (not really zero... theyre full of crap) calorie butter spray. cook it until the egg cooks up... really good with a little salt and jelly or sugar. i like sugar. |

| Foods | Can you eat too many beans?? | Apr 10 2008 03:26 (UTC) |

people in third world countries live (long lives and without problems) on beans and corn. The 2 together complete the 13 (if i remember correctly from bio 101) amino acids you need to function. So if you can handle the end reults of the beans, i say keep eating them... beans are great for you |

i just made a giant pot of lentil soup to last me for different meals through out the week. i dont know if i can eat it. Bendlaurie i did the same thing when we had a mouse problem. i would stomp through the apartment at 2 am in my flipflops smacking counter tops and screaming at the top of my lungs to make sure they heard me before i came in.
My neighbors hate me. |

| Weight Loss | Low fat or low carb? | Apr 10 2008 02:52 (UTC) |
2 |
carbs arent the devil, and neither is fat. If you look back before products were filled with all the crap they are with now, people lived on carbs carbs and more carbs, and werent overweight (no matter how much people like to use the marilyn monroe example... she wasnt overweight a size 6 in the 1920's was like a size 2 today). I would say a low fat diet is better than a low carb diet, the whole Atkins fad of scaring people of bread was blown out of proportion. But try to balance Amberrr is right, try not to eat too little fat... constipation isnt fun, and neither is lack luster hair. fat is necessary in your diet, so maybe eat a few nuts every day to include healthy fats into your diet |

Well thats just stupid... ive never used ONE spray. who's ever gone "ya know what, i only need ONE spray for my english muffin... thats all the buttery goodness i need" OR "three sprays is WAAAYYYYY too much, i dont think i can handle a whole three sprays, im going to only limit myself to ONE. more than ONE will over do it" OR "guys, only ONE spray... I'm driving tonight" the more I'm writing, the more im laughing and getting aggrivated at the same time |

its water weight. after the first week or 2 the weight wont come off like that anymore... unfortunately. But if you keep with it youll lose a pound or so a week depending your calorie deficit every day. 500 calorie deficit every day= 1 pound per week IF science is working with you. Some weeks will work perfect, some weeks youll feel like you hit a brick wall, what we call a plateau, dont give up! the weight will keep coming off. |

| Young Calorie Counters | Need Some Help... | Apr 10 2008 01:47 (UTC) |

I think for breakfast and lunch you should add some protein... for breakfast try having eggs or egg beaters (if your worried about cholesterol... which you shouldnt be), or be unconventional and have leftovers! i love having leftover chicken for breakfast and that lasts longer than any oatmeal can in my system. maybe try having a snack in one of your classes, my favorite excuse in high school was that i was hypoglycemic or anemic and i needed to have a piece of fruit (or any healthy snack) in class to keep my sugars up. it worked everytime. for lunch, again i think you need more protein. maybe shrimp (they cook really fast) or a chef salad (different deli meats... the low sodium are better to have). Again, these will keep you fuller, longer. lettuce will go right through you, protein takes longer to break down in the stomach. your dinner seems really good, maybe ask your mother (or whoever cooks) to make an extra piece or 2 of dinner and put it on the side, that way you have lunch for the next day. theres no reason why leftovers cant be eaten the next day |

| Weight Loss | Work Nights? | Apr 08 2008 13:26 (UTC) |
8 |
I work nights, and i work at parties. Whenever i get a break, if were allowed to eat we get 10 minutes to stuff whatever we can down our throat. 10 minutes isnt enough time to tell if youve eaten past full, and who knows how many calories youve eaten in a catoring hall... Ive started eating right before leaving for work (or leaving early and eating in a restaurant i know i can eat) and ill bring a granola bar or a piece of fruit. I try to stay as far away from the tables of food as possible, otherwise ill leave the party ravinous. |
