Hello everyone! How are you doing?

It sounds like Amanda and I are on the same steamboat! Welcome! Congratulations on getting to 232.

I've been working out everyday for at least 30 minutes. I usually end up going for about an hour, but tell myself that I need at least 30 minutes on those days that I am really tired. What I really would like to do is be able to work out twice a day, but I have such a big problem waking up early enough in the morning! Does anyone have any suggestions?

I want it to be springtime already! Cold weather is not my friend at all. I'm originally from Trinidad and I am used to cool breezes and hot sun!

along the lines of portion control, or what was once our DISTORTED portion ideals.   I think many of us that are overweight have an issue with the "I am full" mechanism. I can eat the proper amount and not be full when I am done.  If I walk away and not eat anything else, I get a full feeling about 15 minutes later...it takes my body a while to send that signal.  SO, if i eat until I feel full...that is WAY too much food KWIM?  I really think that is my issue.  I actually eat fairly good food.  I think what I thought was a serving was MUCH more than a actual serving.

Do any of your experience this?

I am the same way. I eat great food! But when it comes to my portions, I suck. I have to sit and wait for 30 minutes to make sure whether I am hungry or just being "greedy."

And Tracy, thanks for answering my question earlier. I have no idea about your question about the water! This is something I would like to know too, because I sure look like that commercial for being unable to control my bladder lol.

 Hello all and good afternoon,

I didnt get to do my weigh-in yesterday. I'll make it next time though.

I, for one, have a fear of scales. This is probably why I gained so much weight without even thinking about it! I bought a scale recently and have been using it sparingly (at most every 2 weeks). Would anyone have a problem with me doing the weigh-in biweekly? It's just something I am more comfortable with.

Last night, I walked a good strong walk for 45 minutes. The feel of the sweat made me very happy (gross I know, but still). I hope everyone is having a great day!

This weekend has been such a busy one. I didnt do any "exercise" per se, but I was dancing my heart out and running up and down stairs for the main part of the last two days!

I'm feeling really good. I love this feeling!

I just am pushing myself to remember that, just because I lost a couple lbs, it means I get to slack off!

I look forward to the next Biggest Loser show. I always work out during that show, and I get about 2 hours of exercise on every Tuesday!

Good morning! I would love to join your group if I can. It sounds perfect for me!

I'm 24 and started the year at 242. I was out with friends during the Christmas season and saw how awful the pictures came out! Isnt that the worst? I started my kick-in-the-pants-get-to-it-and-get-healthy time then, but it didnt officially hit until after the New Year.

I joined the site about a week ago at 237. I checked Thursday and I was 233. I was so happy! Laughing

I am on a mission to lose 65lbs. I so look forward to breaking under the 200 mark. That will be a celebration. I turn 25 (quarter of a century, here I come!) in September and would like to be under 190 by then.

I know I can do this! My freshman year of college, I gained more than the regular 15 and was at 230. Within a year or so, I was down to 160, and kept it off for a long time. The time has come for me to step up to the plate and take on a more serious look into my life and my eating habits, and it starts now!

P.S. I think it was Kae who said something about the Biggest Loser. That show is my addiction! I wish I could have the same opportunity and go away and just focus on my health like they did!

Weight Loss Uncommon Reasons to Lose Weight Feb 15 2008

I like this thread.

My personal reasons for losing weight:

1. I hate how my clothes dont fit anymore! I have one particular black dress that I absolutely adore and would love to wear out again, hopefully for my birthday!

2. I'm tired of feeling exhausted after going up a flight of stairs. How embarassing!

3. Being healthy and fit will help with my self-esteem, just a tad. Tongue out

4. My family has a history of diabetes and heart disease, so it's about time that I started taking care of myself!
