Thanks for the reply! I actually have a Wii already but I haven't tried Fit or any of that. I'll consider it, for sure. I am considering getting the treadmill/elliptical in a few days just cuz the black Friday/Cyber Monday deals are in full force. |

I am in the same situation, have been for about a year. It will come back just don't lose any more weight, try to maintain. That is my problem, if I dip even slightly below 114ish it goes away for like 3 months! Good luck. :) |

Thank you all for your help!
CelluliteDelight: I agree about the marriage thing--we have been living together for 2 years so far so we are like common law married, haha. It is weird being a little sister (both sisters are 10+ years older than me) and seeing them have kids when I was 13 or so and now, finally reaching the age where that is attainable and "normal" I guess. It is kind of strange how you don't feel any different. Anyway, congrats on the baby. That must be so exciting! |

Eddie P--I understand where you are coming from...but really?
1) calls you drunk with your best friend...check 2)moving in with another girl...check
Regardless of his age "being a young man" isn't an excuse...and she is FAR from smothering him. My fiance is 20 and he doesn't pull any of that ****. Age is neither here nor there; behavior is. Men's behavior is not excusable because they are men. That is utter ****. |

That is some shady ****. I would not trust him one bit. Why would your boyfriend be moving in with another girl? Dump him. I'm sorry but he sucks. |

I am not a violent person by nature, but I would have beat her face in and then slammed her against a wall, and THEN called her a bitch. I just can't imagine a mother being like that. My mom never raises her voice or says anything remotely mean. What the hell is up with mean moms on here? So many people say their mom/friends are not supportive and say cruel things regarding weight loss. How is that EVER going to help?
You are beautiful. I'm sorry about your mom.

I have lived with my boyfriend for about 2 years. We are engaged and our parents had issues with it at first--but for two college kids it works out financially. We started out with a two bedroom and it felt kind of lonely at first with all of the extra space, so one thing lead to another and we adopted a cat. Thats really all it took to feel like home...in a way the cat helped our relationship. But on the relationship side--it really cemented the fact that we wanted to be together. I am more relaxed now and he tries harder to meet me half way in terms of chores around the apartment. I know that if we didn't live together, one of us would be paying stupid amounts of money to leave their stuff in one place and spend all of their time at the other person's. Even if money wasn't tight, I couldn't rationalize not living with someone I am so in love with. The only precautionary measure is having open communication regarding "alone time". I am an introvert and I have to have a disclaimer if I wake up and feel like just being alone or what not. Thats basically it. Good luck with whatever decision you make :) |

| Health & Support | Extra calories burned during PMS or ttom??? | Mar 07 2009 01:49 (UTC) |

Same here. Maybe there aren't 100% conclusive medical tests proving this theory, but seeing as I ate about 1000 calories over maintenance yesterday and was still ravenous, and weighed down 2 lbs (both on home scale & gym scale), my body must be a medical mystery! Ooooohh.
Its like clockwork during ovulation for me. Who knows. I tend to believe it is true (although I have trouble approximating an amount of calories burned). |

I know this advice probably won't help, but its finals week for me right now and I have been putting all of my effort and attention into my work. For the first time in months I haven't thought about my absent period. I quit worrying about it and thinking about it, and I think that helped? Trust me, there is probably nothing wrong with you. Periods are pretty damn versatile. My gyn said that whenever you lose or gain weight your hormones are affected and it takes time to get them back to normal. Your body does it itself, in extreme cases that may not work, but it just takes time. Keep on keepin' on and doing what your doing. If it came back for me (the most stressed out, anxiety-ridden hypochondriac ever) it will surely happen for you! |

Thanks guys! I didn't take any medications. It was a funny story, actually. I was at my wits end here, I went from 110-120 in about 2 months, recovering from extreme restrictions (1000 calories a day since February of this year). I lost my period and around September it hit me and I freaked out. I went to the doctor and he recomended me to another doctor. I finally made an appointment last week. She tested my blood and did a pelvic exam (yuck), and I was freaking out all week. I had an appointment today to get the results of my bloodwork, and when I woke up this morning I started!!!! After paying about $500 dollars in insurance deductables between the last 3 visits my problem cured itself!!! I gradually just started getting busy with school and not counting anymore, thats how I gained the weight. Now I am just maintaining it. Not gonna lie, peanut butter helped do the trick. I have been eating hella peanut butter lately.
Thanks for all your support! :) |

NEATTTTTT you can math. Wow! We care about how much weight you gained in a decade! What kinds of donuts have 33 calories in them anyway? The kind made out of rice and splenda or something? Must have been a decade full of **** donuts. Sucks you ate them. BLECH. Edited Oct 18 2008 03:09 by coach_k Reason: profanity filter. Original Post by carleyrapp: Carleyrapp you rock, kudos to you....I wish everyone on this forum had your kind of reasoning. :)
This forum is filled with so much anomosity, it is unbelievable that this site is supposed to be a unifying and supportive atmosphere; instead it is basically constantly criticism. Maybe the real problem here isn't people's attitudes towards food, it is people who have lost weight successfully and think its their job to criticize everyone else. Am I the only one who sees like 100's of posts a day about "OMGGGGG I BINGED AM I FAT NOW"....this is REFRESHING compared to the daily grind. I get tired of seeing the same posts about people binging and feeling bad about it. Go criticize them instead, weight loss nazis. Tell them "blech" like you told this person. Seriously. Go **** yourselves for being so insensitive to people willing to put themselves out there and be honest. |

Why are you putting down someone else....people go on this forum for support, not to be subjected to sarcasm. This forum isn't called "High School". Support or help people or quit posting. You are not helping anyone, and she certainly didn't asking for an opinion on "healthy" eating Ms. Nutrition expert. You are the exact reason I use this site daily, but avoid posting in the forums like a plague.

This was a reply to "Littlemalynda"....I should probably specify. |

| Health & Support | *Need Urgent Advice* No period after ED | Aug 18 2008 15:35 (UTC) |

i am in your position right now, but its only been about 4 months. are you still getting symptoms of pms ever? i always get them but then i don't get a real period. i would give your body more time and my GP said stress is the number 1 reason why girls our age don't get their period...recovering from an ED is stressful as well as not getting a period. even when i was a healthier weight if my period was late i would freak out so much it just plain old wouldn't come. tell your parents to back off and let your body recover on its own. you will not die of this, and if it goes on for a while longer then see a gynecologist.
bottom line--calm down, take off working out for a little bit, and relax, get the parents off of your back...nothing is more unhelpful than people getting on your back about something you are already upset over.
good luck. |

Haha, thanks for the reply. I am only 19 (almost 20!) but I know in the future I do want kids and I have read so many things about losing your period causing infertility--it just kind of scares me, so I add the stress of freaking out about not getting a period onto the stress of work, etc and its just not good.
I'm glad I'm not alone in this though, haha :D |

Revel in it, you work a lot--be a lazy piece of crap for a day. I waitress 7-3 six days a week in the summer, on my day off I just sleep all day and actually make decent food instead of food I can eat while working--grapes and granola bars get OLD. I actually found that the lazier I am on my days off the better I do at work and the more inclined I am to work out and be friendly, etc. on work days. I don't know if you spend the day alone or not but I try to make a point to, its like detox from the world for a while, haha.
Congrats on eating more though--it takes A LOT of courage, I haven't really gotten there yet but I am trying every day. |

Hey, DON"T WORRY! I had the pleasure (not!) of getting my first cervical exam at the doctors last week, and they said I was 5 lbs heavier and 4 inches shorter than I am according to my home scale, and I know my height, obviously. The scales are effed up in doctors offices. Also, are you working out at all? I have been working out pretty hard core lately and my size 5 skirt is baggy on me but I weigh 5 lbs more than I did when it fit right. Anywho, remember that it is the way you LOOK and FEEL that matters, but I am the same way, recovering from ED, it is hard but just stick with one scale that you are comfortable with because it is a huge trigger seeing jumps like that which just aren't plausible. Get a new scale or get yours fixed and just rely on that one for your real weight, I refuse to believe any scale besides the one in my bathroom at home.
Good luck. |

I hate hate HATE HATE HATE chocolate. it is disgusting. that saves me a lot of temptation though, it is kind of a godsend for maintaining my weight.
its kind of a funny story how it happened though--i loved it in middle school but i would always get a mini-break out after eating it, even a little bite. it took a while for me to equate the chocolate with breaking out. one day my dad told me that it always made him break out as a teenager and he couldn't eating it without breaking out until he was like 25.
i then lost my craving for chocolate. i realized that i hated acne more than i liked chocolate so i just gave it up. haven't eaten a bite in 5 years! I'm the only 19 year old girl i know that hates chocolate, every girl in my dorm eats it by the buttload. |
