Thank you so much! It's nice to know someone else who survived an experience like that without finding tons of heart problems and everything else! I usually don't miss eating,  and I usually don't load up on fries for lunch, just a bad eating day. Oh well, it made me officially decide to cut out all fried foods! They only burn ya in the end..haha

OH and also, MAKE SURE you drink plenty of water while taking topamax. For me, it definitly makes me parched. My doctor said that it was very important to stay hydrated with it for proper kidney and bladder health as well.

And the tingly fingers were gone after the first few times I took it.

And it made soda taste kind of metalic to me at first as well.

I take topamax daily, prescribed for my migraines. It was originally for strokes from what my doctor tells me. warned me of the weight loss and everything, but I have been taking it for about a year and I haven't noticed any side effects other than it prevents/nulls the intensity of my migraines. I would recommend it for a migraine medicine, but it hasn't had any weight loss effects on me...

P.S. yes, I was just a little dissapointed in that. haha.

I second the yogi tea! Seriously, if you drink green tea, this is the stuff to get. Whole foods sells it, but online has much more of a selection. I would recommend trying out all the flavors, they are amazing.

Weight Loss calories to stop the binge and also lose weight Dec 25 2008
04:09 (UTC)

i binge eat. it used to be bad. im recovering =) the advice above is good though.

if ur anything like me, your binge eating is almost habitual, so cutting calories, even though still above what you should have, will make you feel better. you also wont gain as much weight. by jumping right into 1400 cal a day after being used to binging, it is going to be hard. its your choice ultimately though.

good luck =)

To whomever it was that mentioned the Gerber Graduates Puffs....

I was at Meijer last night, and thought, why not, I'll try them.  Got the apple cinnamon flavor, and I love them!  Just enough flavor to satisfy, just enough crunch (though they melt in your mouth easily, as they're for toddlers!) to satisfy, and 25 calories in 65 pieces.  At about the size of goldfish crackers, that's a lot less (I'm a goldfish nut, though I haven't had them in a while now, and 55 of those is 140 cals).  Not the most nutritious snack, but they're great when you feel the need to munch.

So, thanks!

these actually are high in iron and many other vitamins! go figure =)

I dont know that its a 'cookie' but every christmas on the tray of butter cookies my aunt/uncle would make they would include marzipan shaped and colored as fruits - love those!

One companys at christmas comes out with cookies in a cardboard tray, wrapped in celophane (Archway?) that are covered with powdered sugar and the cookie is stiff/dry with half of being a type of nut (macademia?).  I remember how they would have a christmas like decorative stamp added to the label so assuming theyre seasonal.

Anyone know what Im talking about? They are amazing.

they sound kind of like wedding cookies (in a pink box), so maybe they are a different type of that that only come out around christmas =)

I'm just going to control my portions like those above said. Also, I know how I am with desserts...so I will probably look up on here the lowest calorie pies/cakes/candies to try to decide which to do. I also will try to avoid the carb loaded rolls and mashed potatoes stacked with butter. Just not worth it.

yes! the worst for me is when me and my girlfriends go out for lunch and i order things specially..for example: steak cooked with no buttery sauce and a sweet potatoe with no butter and no sugar and cinnamon on the side so i can add it myself (not for calorie purposes, just flavor purposes)

they look at me like im a freak and wonder why i have to be so difficult....um deducting that many calories is so worth it!

Right now im 224lbs.  i'd love for some one to even attempt to lift me.  even if they couldnt, i would love for someone to at least act like they thought they could.  when i was in school (at 250lbs), i used to get excited when a boy would try and move my desk while i was sitting in it (only happened a couple times for whatever reason).  it was nice to know that someone could move me.  im also scared to sit on somebodies lap.  i dont want to crush their bones. lol.  i also get a little freaked out when i have to sit in a movie theater seat or auditorium.  i feel like im taking up more room than everyone and intruding in their space.

i was the same way! this was like reading me haha

my boyfriend lifts weights all the time, and he is crazy strong. at 5'6 and 197 he (only 5'5 and 160) can pick me up and carry me around. its crazy..but i love it.

at first i was so self conscious, but now, i embrace it. it is his way of showing affection, and its very sweet =)

For me, the lower cal things I find, the higher in carbs they are! =/

There was a forum on here like a year ago about how different people's bodies digest different things differently...it was saying some needed carbs to function properly and others needed more lean proteins.

For me, I notice significant weight loss when I cut back on carbs, and my doctor has said that staying low with carbs definitly helps to not gain anymore.

She said that carbs turn to sugar which turn to fat. She also said something that I don't know if I believe, but it isn't a huge deal to me: she said carbs where the only food group that make us gain weight. However, um FAT!?! haha

But anyways, this is a roundabout answer to end with everyone is different.

I agree with the chinese food one! Sometimes there just isn't a replacement for it!

Also, when I'm at restraunts I have so what meals sometimes. Like if I know I have enough calories I will order a steak/chicken breast with fries. If you get fries with a plain meat rather than a burger, they give you less. At least that seems to be the trend around here!

...But I'm not complaining...what I don't see, I won't miss!

I'm not a tuna person, either, vicki, but I love it just because it is low calorie, high protein, and easy to stash in your cabinets!

I find mayonaise more disgusting than anything I could ever imagine, so I mix tuna with barbecue sauce. I swear it's delicious.

I like to put it on toasted bread as a barbecue sandwich. If you add enough barbecue sauce, it loses the fishy flavor and it's just like chicken!!

I cant stand seafood, or fish, and canned fish gives me the creeps! haha but ive always wanted to eat tuna bc it is so low calorie and filling apparently. i hate mayonaise too though.

this sounds like a realyl good idea for em! im gonna try it!
