i do the same thing. well, i will do good for like a month or two then ruin it with two weeks of terrible binge eating. it isnt healthy. i really dont have an answer for you either. i know how to stop binging by drinking water and eating more veggies...but for myself i lack the will power. im an emotional eater, a problem im working on slowly but surely =) |

Thank you so much! It's nice to know someone else who survived an experience like that without finding tons of heart problems and everything else! I usually don't miss eating, and I usually don't load up on fries for lunch, just a bad eating day. Oh well, it made me officially decide to cut out all fried foods! They only burn ya in the end..haha |

| Health & Support | Topamax? Wellbutrin? | Jan 13 2009 18:53 (UTC) |

OH and also, MAKE SURE you drink plenty of water while taking topamax. For me, it definitly makes me parched. My doctor said that it was very important to stay hydrated with it for proper kidney and bladder health as well. And the tingly fingers were gone after the first few times I took it. And it made soda taste kind of metalic to me at first as well. |

I take topamax daily, prescribed for my migraines. It was originally for strokes from what my doctor tells me. warned me of the weight loss and everything, but I have been taking it for about a year and I haven't noticed any side effects other than it prevents/nulls the intensity of my migraines. I would recommend it for a migraine medicine, but it hasn't had any weight loss effects on me... P.S. yes, I was just a little dissapointed in that. haha. |

| Weight Loss | calories to stop the binge and also lose weight | Dec 25 2008 04:09 (UTC) |
|
i binge eat. it used to be bad. im recovering =) the advice above is good though. if ur anything like me, your binge eating is almost habitual, so cutting calories, even though still above what you should have, will make you feel better. you also wont gain as much weight. by jumping right into 1400 cal a day after being used to binging, it is going to be hard. its your choice ultimately though. good luck =) |

I'm just going to control my portions like those above said. Also, I know how I am with desserts...so I will probably look up on here the lowest calorie pies/cakes/candies to try to decide which to do. I also will try to avoid the carb loaded rolls and mashed potatoes stacked with butter. Just not worth it. |

yes! the worst for me is when me and my girlfriends go out for lunch and i order things specially..for example: steak cooked with no buttery sauce and a sweet potatoe with no butter and no sugar and cinnamon on the side so i can add it myself (not for calorie purposes, just flavor purposes) they look at me like im a freak and wonder why i have to be so difficult....um deducting that many calories is so worth it! |

when i go through stressful times i try to exercise even if i binge. that way, endorphins are released which make me happy =) haha and i burn some of the binge off. the best thing to do is just take a day and refocus your mind along with your healthy lifestyle and don't get discouraged! |

P.S. She recommended to me 35 grams a day. But I don't follow that. Everything has carbs... For me, the lower cal things I find, the higher in carbs they are! =/ |

There was a forum on here like a year ago about how different people's bodies digest different things differently...it was saying some needed carbs to function properly and others needed more lean proteins. For me, I notice significant weight loss when I cut back on carbs, and my doctor has said that staying low with carbs definitly helps to not gain anymore. She said that carbs turn to sugar which turn to fat. She also said something that I don't know if I believe, but it isn't a huge deal to me: she said carbs where the only food group that make us gain weight. However, um FAT!?! haha But anyways, this is a roundabout answer to end with everyone is different. |

| Foods | Do you have a "so what" food? | Dec 20 2008 17:42 (UTC) |

I agree with the chinese food one! Sometimes there just isn't a replacement for it! Also, when I'm at restraunts I have so what meals sometimes. Like if I know I have enough calories I will order a steak/chicken breast with fries. If you get fries with a plain meat rather than a burger, they give you less. At least that seems to be the trend around here! ...But I'm not complaining...what I don't see, I won't miss! |

So you can log your weight -- which allows you to do the following:
- Plot your weight curve
- Analyze the trend of your weight (see under Recent in the figure above)
- Determine the projected target date (see under Overall in the figure above)
