wow, most muffins I eat are like 2 oz.  But I definitely think its better and healthier to make your own and it would probably be way less calories.

Wow, Ive never heard that...interesting.  Anyway, I ALWAYS cut up my apple and usually like it either warmed up or with peanut butter. Apples and bananas are also really good with dark chocolate.

Im sorry if my post is upsetting.  Its just that Ive been going to the doctor and was going every few weeks and my doctor never really seemed too concerned that I was in danger.  I just find it so difficult to eat while doing little exercize...I feel so guilty, I know my brain must be very messed up, I just cant get rid of the guilt.  But I really do think Im doing better.  Theres no specialists/support groups around here, but its nice to come on here to get ideas about recovery and see how other people handle it.  I really do just want to get better.

Thanks for all the thougts...I have definitely been doing better the past few days...its just hard to find time with work and I go to college too.  I feel like I eat all day but still dont get enough because all the foods I eat are pretty much all healthy.  I do eat a lot of peanut butter, milk, cheese, stuff like that.  Im just so sick of living like this.  Even though I am eating sometimes I still feel so weak.  I guess I need to make recovery my top priority.  I am planning on going to my doc soon, but she always wants to weigh me and push me to go to therapy-which I hate.  But anyway, thanks for the support-I really appreciate it:)

Health & Support A Little More Sensitivity? Oct 20 2008

I agree with some of what your saying.  I am in recovery for anorexia.  I have accepted the fact that many people do not really understand the disease.  They dont know how to act or what to say to help.  They try to help, but its hard to understand how someone with an eating disorder thinks.  They might say something they think will make you feel better, but it has the opposite affect.  For example, older relatives of mine have told me things like Im looking better.  Something like that will make me think "oh I must be gaining weight, better not eat anymore" or they may try to encourage you by saying how great your eating.  That would make me think Im going overboard and eating too much.  Ive accepted that some people can be judgemental, and many mean well, its just hard to understand.

Hmmm....well Im about the same weight as you, by bmi is right around 13.0.  I guess I didn't realize this was such a critical isue either so now Im kind of worried that I may be in danger.   But you definitely need to meet with a doctor. Everyone here is right that you really need to seek out help ASAP.  Ive been this weight for about 1.5 years, and am eating now, but Im not gaining.  I eat about 1500 cals a day, and my doctor never seemed too concerned, and my bloodwork has been ok, so I didnt really worry that much, but Im a little worried now too...:/

I know Im not the best person to take advice from but peanut butter has definitely helped me get my calories up, I eat it everyday, and nuts too.  I know its hard to face the fear of gaining, but you REALLY need too, guess I do too, haha.  Protein bars help, cheese, milk, dried fruit.  I remember the first time I had chocolate since recovering.  Its great.  Ive heard of people needing anywhere from 2000-4000 calories to gain weight.  I try really hard to stay away from the scale, that definitely helps me.  But you need to make sure you dont lose anymore.  I would also reccomend stopping the exercise.  Your probably frail, and it will be too hard on your heart.

I think you need to do eveything in your power to get into a doctor/nutritionist/therapist soon.  You need to be honest with your family and get help.  Trust me, you have your whole life in front of you, dont throw it away. Message me anytime if u want:) Good luck!

Health & Support Away at college, think depressions settling in.. Oct 14 2008
22:02 (UTC)

My first year of college was really hard.  I got sooo homesick and basically became really depressed and quit eating.  I was very sick by the end of the year.  Do you know why your depressed?  Are you homesick or is it something else?  Do you have a balanced diet, because if you don't you could be lacking in some kind of nutrients.  If you can, maybe you should search for a doctor or nutritionist to help you out and figure out whats wrong.  They might be able to tell if something physically is wrong that makes it hard for you to stop eating.I also feel guilty for eating, but I think its a mental thing.  Have you ever seen a therapist?  Most colleges have them available on campus. I never liked therapy but it does work for some people.  They first year of college can be really rough.  I moved back home after my first year, and am still not healthy, but I am happier.  Im not sure how supportive your family is or if you are close to them, but I think you definitely need to talk to someone.  For me I think it was mostly about control and I was just soo depressed and homesick.  Hopefully some of this will help, its just a few suggestions.  It may seem like your alone, but your definitely not.  Good luck!

Foods this may be a really dumb question. Oct 11 2008

haha...not a dumb question at all, Ive actually wondered the same thing before.  So I looked it up and apparently most nuts come from trees or bushes. I guess kind of just like fruit.  I think peanuts are grown in the ground though.
