Hi Clare!  I don't think I'm going to "weigh-in" anymore.  I'm pretty happy with where I'm at now and just trying to maintain.  I've been eating like crazy though.  It's ttom and I can't control my eating frenzy!  Hopefully I can get on track soon.  We're going on a mini-vacation for 4 days this weekend to Miami, FL, so I'm sure I'll be eating a lot then too.  So maybe I'll get back on track by, oh..., next Wed? lol

Wow Clare!  I'm soooo happy for you!!  What great luck! That was so generous of them - what a great gift!  So where's the honeymoon going to be?

A 10 lb. baby?  My friend had one of those and she'll never let us all forget it.  I'll keep my fingers crossed for you for another 9 lb'er!  ha,ha  I can't even imagine...

clare ~ Oh, I remember how that was!  I used to crave chocolate milkshakes!  Don't be hard on yourself.  Enjoy this time.

shea ~ Congrats on the loss!  That's great news!  I bet you're so proud of yourself.

Me?  I've a bad last few days.  I had my high school reunion Sat. night which is what I was really working toward.  Now that it's over I've been eating like crazy.  I must reign myself in!  Had a better day yesterday and today.  Last week I was 123.5 and today I'm 123.  I know that's a loss but I'm feeling bloated and not as good as I could.  I was holding 121 for a while, must get back there!

Oh me too!  Must get back on track! Bad weekend!  My triplets turned 8 + 20th high school reunion picnic = = cake, cake, cake, pizza, fried chicken, potato chips, rolls, brownie, cookies, ice cream!  I feel like ****! Ugghhh!

Hi girls  I'm back from my 60 mile walk!  It was so inspirational, emotional, and very very tiring.  But I made it!  Unfortunately, I didn't stay on my diet and paid the price.  You'd think all that walking would burn calories, but noooooo!  Anyway, last week I weighed in at 122 and today I'm 123.5. (I was 128 Monday a.m. UGHHH)

clare ~ keep up the great work!  You may go above 182 because you'll probably gain more weight toward the end when she starts growing more rapidly, but that's ok it'll all come back off in no time!

shea ~ that's great that you managed to maintain your weight even through the stress.  I'm sure your evening walks have helped with that.  Keep it up and don't get discouraged, you are doing great!

I've enjoyed reading all  your post while I've been gone!  And welcome to the newbies of the group!

kris ~ I read your post from Sunday that showed your food log.  You probably don't want MY opinion because I'm very strict with my diet, but here it goes anyway ~ I think you are lacking on a few things - protein, veggies and fruit.  I would try to get protein in for every meal.  Think lean meat, chicken, fish, egg whites, protein shakes!   You need to add veggies for your lunch and dinner.  I would also not eat after dinner, but that's just my opinion!  Good luck and don't worry about it going slow, at least it's coming off and not back on!

shea ~ great job on the 1 lb. loss!  You are headed in the right direction.  And that IS pretty impressive being totm!

clare ~ It's so hard to believe you are 27 weeks already!  Boy time sure does fly!  I'm still so amazed you have the motivation to exercise while pregnant.

karey ~ well it looks like you've mastered maintenance!  Has it been rough? Oh, and thanks for the compliments on the new pics.  Those "before" pics were taken by my trainer in March.  I couldn't believe it when she e-mailed them to me.

Good morning everyone!  After having 2 "cheat" meals this weekend AND TTOM this week I'm up 1 pound, so 122 this week!  I'm not worried though, it'll come back off.

Well, I'm leaving tomorrow night for an adventure!  I'm walking in the Breast Cancer 3-day!  I'll be walking 60 miles over 3 days in Washington D.C.  I won't be able to check in with you girls, so I just hope you all stick to your plans and have a great weekend.  Maybe you can think about "me" and all the pain I'll be in walking about 20 miles a day and sleeping in a tent on the ground!  The pain will be worth it though ~ we've raised a lot of money to find a cure!

Good morning girls!  Hope everyone had a great weekend!  I had 2 big "cheat" meals this weekend AND time of the month started today, so...I'm up a pound from last week's weigh-in.  I'm not worried about it though.  It'll come back off.

stay ~ Everything is NOT ruined!  You CAN make a fresh start.  Just because you had a bad few days doesn't mean it's over for you.  You CAN do this!  Pick yourself up, get in the gym and get it done girl!

What's my goal?  That's a great question karey.  The answer is: I don't really have one.  I'm not trying to lose "weight" anymore - I'm trying to lose "fat".  Obviously the lower numbers on the scale are appealing, however that's not my focus any longer.  I just keep eating clean and working out and that's what's happening.  I'm not in this for weight loss per say anymore ~ I just want to be fit.  I had my body fat checked today and it's 22% (down from about 30% I think in March).  Ideally, I would like to be at 18%.  I just want those "mushy" parts to be gone!

karey ~ I've heard maintenance is tough.  You'll find the right formula for yourself.  Don't worry about little gains here and there.  I'm sure it's not "real" weight anyway.

stayontrack ~ congrats on the 130's! 

First, on your vacation/travel, if you can run (or even walk) I would do some interval training.  Do several short bursts during your walk or run.  This has been proven to burn more fat than just a long static-state walk or run.  Also, pushups are an awesome full body workout. 

As for your second question, I would eat to sustain my body throughout the night, however I wouldn't try to stuff in my remaining calories (especially right before bed when I'm not going to be burning as much).  Oh, and, in my opinion, a calories is NOT a calorie.  It's important to know how your body uses food (ie. simple carbs like sugary foods cause a spike in insulin thus telling your body to store fat and with complex carbs like whole grains, fruit & veggies your insulin level stays steady).  Calorie-dense foods contain little to no nutritional value.  Hope this helps!

stayontrack ~ Yay for you!  You ladies who can drink beer and still stay on track are amazing!  Looking for 130's next week?

tigz & loz ~ Chocolate? Reese's? You're killing me here!  The closest thing to chocolate I've had lately is a chocolate flavored protein shake - just not the same...

sarah ~ looks like you're eating well.  Some suggestions might be to add some healthy snacks in between meals.  From what you showed us you have 3 meals a day.  Try to work to 5 meals a day each being roughly the same calories (breakfast being the most).  That way your motabolism is working because your body is continually getting nourishment.  Hang in there, we're all here to support you. 

I'm still feeling like a slug, but at least I got a good workout in today.  Good luck for tomorrow's weigh-in!

clare ~ I'm so proud of you for hanging in there and exercising and eating well through the pregnancy!  You're gonna be one hot mama!

I've had a rough weekend.  Started off with Friday night - went out to eat with the family AND had ice cream for dessert.  Then Saturday went to a friends 40th b-day party and had WAY too much alcohol!  Hung over all day Sunday and didn't eat much.  Anyway I've been feeling lazy and haven't exercised in 4 days.  Got a great workout in this morning though...must get back on track...

I think you should eat at least 5 small meals a day.  Each being around the same size.  This way you can keep your motabolism going and let your body know it's getting nourishment.  So, yes, if it's time to eat, then eat.  I wouldn't skip a meal just because you're not hungry.

niki ~ hang in there girl!  You CAN do this!  Your 3 lbs will come right back off in no time.  I get very tired, too, especially around TOTM.  Get past it and get back to your exercise routine.  Take it easy on the shoulder and work your legs!

Hey I gain 3 lbs EVERY weekend when I eat my cheat meal.  Then by the next Friday I'm back and even down some.  It can be done!

karey ~ I Am self-conscious pulling them off the rack!  I think I'm in denial!  I went to White House Black Market yesterday and tried to get the opinion of the sales girls on which size to buy in a top I liked, small or X-small.  They said the x-small looked best, huh?  I'm having trouble relating to this girl who is smaller - I still go into the store and pull the larger sizes.

That's awesome Karey!  I've been buying 4s too!  It's so hard to grasp isn't it?  When I grab them off the rack or ask a clerk for a size 4 I feel like they are looking at me like "yeah right lady", but they really DO fit!  You have made a phenomenal change in your life, you should be proud!  Your before and after pics are proof of how far you've come and what you've accomplished.
