Tri: It's okay! :) I'm glad you have such a good outlook on your weight... I like that you think it's irrelevant as long as you're healthy. Also, it's great that you're not afraid to eat higher cals, especially when you're doing all that training. :) Sara: I think it's good you're so organized... want to come over and finish organizing my closet for me? lol I had started weeks ago and stopped midway through... I really need to just get in there and finish it. I'm really thinking I'm going to return those jeans... or at a minimum, at least exchange them for a different pair. My hubby said there's no way those could be comfortable if they're tight... I want some comfy jeans, but fashionable too... guess I'll go back when there are some girls working & get their help instead. Not sure if I trust the guy's opinion, lol. Your Thanksgiving plans sound great... sounds like good company and lots of yummy food. Eva: In my tofu stew I just threw a bunch of different things in... chicken broth (base), carrots, tofu, red potatoes, zucchini, and light red kidney beans. Yeah, just plan your day out and get to that 2500... you can do it. :) Your body will thank you. I know some days it can be hard though, especially if you're not that hungry or eat a lot of heavy foods. Keep trying, you'll get there. Chrissy: I'm sure you'll be fine just nibbling... maybe you'll have to have an extra piece of pumpkin pie. ;) Cheesecake sounds good too, but pumpkin pie would be better. ;) Not sure how the tofu is going to turn out in my stew, but I guess I'll find out. What, does soy possibly increase breast cancer chances?? I've never heard of that... I have it in my family too... my grandmother passed away from it when I was only 2yrs old. ---------------------- Waiting for my tofu stew to cool so I can portion it out... also waiting for my apple muffin tops to come out of the oven... yum! |

Eva: Thanks! I bought some peppermint tea today and I think it helps a little... tastes good at least. ;) I don't know if it's a dry cough... still coughing some stuff up here and there (sorry tmi). Wow, it must be really warm if you're dry by the time you get home from the beach. You couldn't finish your pumpkin oats?? Are you getting sick? I do think you're overthinking the whole eating when hungry thing and the hunger signals. As for me, I tend to eat when I'm bored and seem to think I'm hungry, so I can't trust my signals.... they're wacked. lol I think you should eat what you're recommended to eat (2500?) because your body needs it. ;) Chrissy: Yay, you have a date! Woot, woot!! :) You'll be just fine w/out a workout... besides, I'm sure your body could use a rest. As for my Thanksgiving plans... I have the day off work, so hubby and I have made reservations to go out to lunch at Texas de Brazil, the Brazilian steakhouse that we like. I'm gonna get me some carrot cake! lol That's cool that you're going to go to your ex's families.... how does HE feel about that? Is it awkward? Hmm... I don't know about the bringing your own tv dinner meal... might seem a bit odd. What about cooking a veg dish that you love and bringing that to contribute? Ooh, I like Cinnabon, but never usually eat it. Wan: You're welcome and I'm glad I gave you enough info. Thanks, my flu is almost gone, just down to a cough. :) Tri: Thanks for sharing more info about yourself. Feel free to share most details, but as a rule, we don't post any weights in here... height, age, food menu, etc. are all fine and dandy though. :) John: Wow, lots of info and sites! Were you bored by any chance? lol ;) That must have been a good workout carrying that 20lb turkey home! --------------------------------------- Still coughing like a fiend, lol. Missing hubby... was really lazy this am and slept until 10am!! Woot! :) Felt good... sat around in my pj's until about 1pm and then showered and went to the grocery store. I'm making some egg white muffins (from an egg white pancake recipe) and cooking up some tofu stew. :)

Chrissy: Hmm, maybe I'll try making some pumpkin cranberry muffins one of these days... I always love those. Wow, that's a lot of money to spend on groceries, but I'm pretty sure I'm right around there somewhere too... actually, I'd rather not know, lol. Haha, you mentioned you could have had Panda... I had Panda Express for dinner, but it was like 8:30 and I just went through the drive-thru... it sucked. It was all old and nasty, which I had a feeling it might be... not sure why I went through w/it and got it anyway. I guess I wanted it badly enough... hubby is out of town visting his family & he hates Panda, so I guess I thought it was the perfect opportunity. Good job on the hour on the ellitpical!! John: You sound like a sweet guy... I think that's great how much you love your wife. :) You should tell her about all the nice things you said on here. As for my fav historical subject of interest.... I guess I don't really have any. Lately, I just like to read about vampires, lol. Wan: You're welcome. Sometimes things are just so easy that we just don't see them right in front of us... don't worry, I do that alot. ;) Sometimes it's hard to eat healthy along w/your spouse... my hubby doesn't always want to eat healthy, so it can be a challenge. I also feel that I eat more than he does and I eat more often. Sometimes he only eats once or twice a day. I control my portions by measuring or weighing them out on my food scale, according to the serving size on the package. Sara: Wow, I'm not sure how you handle all of the work and long hours involved w/your schooling and rehearsals... I can see how a person would get worn down. Glad you'll be able to get some rest during Thanksgiving Break soon! I think you're right about Mercedes spilling the beans eventually about Puck... Yep, another pair of boots... they're great! You can do so much w/them... I think I'm done buying them now. ;) I bought some new jeans tonight... but I'm having buyer's remorse. I may bring them back tomorrow... I've never spent that much on jeans before and thought I'd treat myself, but I don't know if it's worth it... Plus, they fit really tight and the guy in the store told me to buy them that way and that they stretch out quite a bit. Hmm.... Hope your last two shows went well! Eva: Wow, that's really warm!! Ah, I chickened out on the salt and water... I mentioned it to hubby and he was like 'do you realize how nasty that's going to taste?'... guess I didn't think about that. Didn't want to go through that, so I ended up coughing my head off all night. Tonight I can cough all I want, as loud as I want because hubby is out of town visiting family... so, no one to worry about waking up. I just started the 5th book tonight... they actually start going by pretty fast once you get into them... not sure what I'm going to do when I get through w/them all. Oooh, swimming at the beach sounds so nice. :) Ouch, hope your hand is okay! BAD sandwich toaster!! ;) Tryatri: Hi and welcome to the group! Congrats on getting through the anorexia and getting back to a healthier lifestyle. Wow, a triathalon... very ambitious! That sure is a lot of training! ------------------------------- Not much to report here... same stuff, dif day. Still coughing.... still no workout... still sick of being sick.... sick and tired of saying the same thing about being sick and tired, lol. I do think it's getting much better though.... I did take Mya on a very brief walk today, so that's something. Still hoping to get some sort of workout in tomorrow.... crossing my fingers. Hubby is out of state visiting family, so I'm on my own for the weekend.... can't wait until he comes back Monday night. :) I'm off tomorrow, but have no idea what I'm going to do all day by myself... guess I'll sleep-in for awhile, which should be nice.

Eva: How warm is it by you? Our weather is finally starting to cool down a bit, which I love. Yes, coughing fits are the worst... especially when you're out somewhere, or if you're trying to sleep. Thanks for the tips, I'm going to try the gargling salt & water thing now before bed. Glad the makeup on New Moon is better... it was horrible on the first one. It was like they were ridiculously white and then had bright lips, lol. There are ten books in the Sookie Stackhouse series... I think I'm almost finished w/the fourth one right now and they're pretty good. I also like the series on tv... I've seen the whole first season and so far the first episode of the second season. The first time I ever tried watching it, I thought it was soooo corny and weird, but later on I tried watching it again and now I really like it. I'd say give it a shot. ;) Chrissy: Thanks for the pep talk on the weight... you're right. No need for me to worry about it, I'll be fine once I get better... at least I've been eating pretty healthy. You're lucky you rarely get sick... I do once in awhile, but hardly ever do I get anything as bad as the flu. I know how you feel about wanting to eat and eat (well, not lately for me, but normally)... I feel like I'm always looking for a reason to go to the store too... I may as well just live there! I spend so much money on miscellaneous stuff to make things, or just in case I want to make something so that I have it on hand. Uh-oh, I just unthawed my last apple muffin top! Think I may have to go to the store this weekend so I can bake some more of those yummy things. ;) |

Chrissy: Yeah, actually I have gotten on the scale on Wednesday, my usual weigh-in day... I knew it wasn't long enough yet and probably wasn't a good idea, but I did it anyway. lol I Guess since I was sick, I figured my weight would be down some, but it was only a couple days of being back on track and I also started my totm, so I was pretty bloated. I was at the very top end of my maint range, so that sucked, but I'm not stressing over it. Way too many factors that may have skewed it some. Glad to hear you like Health Magazine. Yeah, I think Celestial Seasonings does make a lot of yummy looking flavors. They make a Gingerbread one that I want to try too. Haven't heard of the stash teas... I did see a chocolate tea in the store and I wanted it, but it was pretty pricey, so I opted not to for now. John: I can actually see now how someone who has a pre-existing condition could die from the h1n1... it's pretty hard on your lungs and if you already had trouble breathing, watch out! Did you get a flu shot? As for the weight info, no worries... I honestly hadn't even seen it. ;) Thank you though. Also congrats on your woot woot weigh-in!! Melanie: I think it's good that you're indulging in some things... you're young and still growing and shouldn't restrict too much. I also agree w/what Chrissy was saying about not undereating during the day to compensate for later... it often does backfire on you. If you're losing weight, that's just a sign that you your body needs more fuel and you need to eat more and get those cals up. ;) Not sure if what I had was the swine flu, but I kind of think it was.... yeah, they made a huge deal about it here for awhile too. Once in awhile you'd see a person walking around w/a mask on so they wouldn't catch it... they looked ridiculous! I really don't think it's that big a deal unless you're old and you get it... or are really sickly already, then I suppose it could kill you. Wan: Don't be afraid to ask any questions you may have... we all understand some of us are from different countries and may not all communicate in english as well as others, it's okay. :) For calculating my calories, I use this site... I had gotten my calorie goal estimate from here in the tools section, I think, and then I log all the food I eat on this website too... was that what you were referring to? If I didn't answer you question, just let me know. ;) I've never used the mypyramidtracker.gov, but I've heard of it. I hope you enjoy your holidays and thanks for the pomegrante tip! :) Eva: I'm sorry you've been having a tough time lately. Also so so sorry to hear about your doggy... it's so sad and it's a hard thing to do. My heart goes out to you. Wow, you get up early! That sounds so relaxing and beautiful to go down to the beach for an early walk. Glad you got to see New Moon! I haven't seen it yet... I'll probably wait until it dies down some and then see it later. I saw the first movie (Edward was waaay too white and silly looking, IMO), but haven't read any of the books yet... I'm reading another vampire book series right now though (Sookie Stackhouse series - aka Trueblood). --------------------- Still not good enough to workout again yet... bummer! I was up most the night coughing my head off... it's one of those tickling in your throat kind of things that just gets you coughing like crazy. Driving me nuts. I know if I even tried to workout, I'd just collapse from a killer coughing fit, lol. I'm just trying to make sure I eat enough and eat healthy stuff... and rest. |

Soraya: Thanks, yes - I'm pretty sure it was the flu, but I think I'm finally starting to get better... I'm actually not taking any meds at the moment and I can function, woot, woot! I'm still hacking up stuff though, but not quite as often. Gina: I've been drinking a lot of tea and hot chocolate lately... I have some yummy apple tea that's pretty good and love the vanilla chamomile and sugar cookie teas. Thanks, I think I'm finally feeling a bit better! Danielle: Glad I could help. Hope you find some you like! Sorry about the 3lb gain... I'ms ure you'll get it off now that you're back into your normal routine. Glad your daughter is feeling better. As for safe caloric intake, don't go below 1200 calories... your body needs at least this much to function, if not a bit more. -------------------------------- Still not well enough to workout yet, but I'm getting there... I was more active today though. I ended up working all day and then hubby and I went out for some mexican for dinner and then he wanted to stop at the mall and go to the Apple store... he wanted to get some new jeans and a shirt, so I found some cute boots on sale and I got those. ;) Made me feel a little better, lol. |

John: Good to know that your daughter's flu only lasted about 5 days... I think mine is almost ready to go away now too. ;) Wow, she's doing a half-marathon soon? Good for her! Thanks for the compliment on the new pic... it was at the Hoover Dam. Chrissy: Do you like Health magazine? I think it's one of the ones I had put on my x-mas list... think I asked for Fitness Magazine too... Yeah, I worked today... took me 10 times as long to do what I normally do, but whatever. I only have two tomorrow though. Yep, I have Sugar Cookie tea... it's by Celestial Seasonings. Yum... cherry cheesecake w/brownie crust?! Mmm... If it's tasty and low cal, please share the recipe. ;) Melanie: Good job on the exercise and calorie upping. Don't worry, you're not going to gain ... and if you do, you know how to lose it. ;) Sara: Wow, 1am is the earliest you've been to bed in awhile!? I'm lucky if I can make it to 11, lol. I loved this week's Glee! I thought it was so funny how Rachel had a crush on Mr. Schuster! LOL Yeah, Quinn's parent's are real butt heads, but she's kind of horrible for lying about it being Finn's baby... I feel a bit bad for Puck. Good luck w/your opening tonight!! :) ------------------------------ I am actually feeling a bit better this afternoon... I'm still hacking up stuff, but I can breathe better and just FEEL a little better. I think I may finally be starting to kick this thing. When hubby got home w/actually went out to dinner (mexican) and went to the mall since he had a shirt he had to return and wanted some new jeans. Bought another cute pair of boots, this time black (bought a brown pair in Vegas)... were on sale too. :) Still no workout, but I was pretty active... worked all day and then walked around the mall. One of these days soon, hopefully I'll be healthy enough to workout again. Crossing my fingers for tomorrow.... |

John: That's funny that I did the same as your daughter... guess we're both maybe a bit stubborn and tough. ;) Do you know how long hers lasted? I'm hoping it goes away soon, but everyone tells me it can hang on for up to two weeks! I sure hope not. I'm actually a tad bit more active today... went out w/hubby to the grocery store to get some subs for dinner. I still don't want to eat out anywhere yet and risk coughing on someone though. Had a half sub loaded w/veggies and then some nonfat fro-yo for dessert. ;) Going to go relax some more and watch Glee! |

Megs: Haha, glad you liked my post. ;) I agree, Vegas is pretty sleazy... I bet you're pretty sick of it by now. I feel like w/my illness I've had a little of everything too. How long did yours last? I'm hoping to kick mine soon, but everyone else is telling me it's going to be one of those things that hangs on for awhile and lingers. I'm hoping they're wrong! Glad you're better and that you've mapped out a routine for yourself. :) Great job on getting to the gym!! Have fun w/the nails and hair... post a new pic. Sarah: Welcome back! I'm really sorry to hear about the miscarriage... glad to hear you're recovering well though. Of course we don't mind if you stop in! ;) Stefanie: Lol, thanks. I try and keep up, but it's so hard sometimes... don't want anyone to feel like I'm ignoring them, especially if they took the time to type it. :) I don't blame you for being a bit weary of the NROL4W's calorie suggestions being a bit high for you... when I was doing it, I had already lost most or almost all of my weight, so I can see how it might feel wrong if you're still trying to lose. Although, I do think maybe you should give it a bit more time since I'm sure he knows what he's talking about... the half a lb that you think you gained is probably sore muslces retaining water. I went up a bit at first when I started that program too, but it levels out. I'd give it another week and then weigh-in again. Soraya: Thanks, me too... :( I think I have the flu, but I'm just trying to ride it out... I called the doc yesterday and they said as long as my fever is gone, to take Mucinex... but that's not working too well. I can still feel all the junk in my lungs and still keep coughing it up... I'm on to trying Theraflu now. Whatever works. Glad you had fun last night! Get some rest! ;) |

Chrissy: What magazines do you subscribe to? I hope you're right about the damage I may have done while on vacation... hopefully it'll all even out. Oh, and I think if you look back awhile ago in the thread, Wan gave us her info... she likes to read and mostly lurks. ;) Good job on getting to the gym! Sucks about waking up late, hate that. Eva: Thanks for the tip about that bananas... maybe I'll have a PB/Banana sandwich, yum! :) Melanie: Good job on the walk and adding that in to your cals. :) Debra: Congrats on the great fitness test improvements!! Woot, woot!!! Sara: Wow, you saw another one? No fair! LOL 2am?? That's a looong day! I'm pretty sure I have some sort of flu. :( Congrats on getting your classes and getting into the faculty production for the spring!! :) John: Woohoo! Congrats on your new records! That's great that you got your blood pressure lower and your iron up! Wow, you sure did some serious eating... gotta refuel, right? --------------------------------------------- - Still sick and doing a lot of "resting" (aka sitting around, lol) this afternoon. Getting kind of bored with that, but at the same time it's kind of nice... Still struggling to get some cals in... when you keep hacking up stuff, for some reason you just don't have the normal appetite. lol Ugh, it's been over a week now since I was able to workout... my last one was in Vegas on the stairwell *sigh*.

Original Post by wanindq: Hi Wan!! :) How are you? Thank you... I have actually been drinking quite a lot of tea lately. It really does seem to help some... I have some Honey Vanilla Chamomile tea that is really yummy... also have some Sugar Cookie flavored tea too. Oh, and I also am liking hot chocolate. ;) Trying to get a lot of rest... been doing a lot of reading lately. Hope you're well! |

Original Post by debra123: Hey Debra! Thanks... I know I should stay home, but I can't. I have clients waiting on me, plus I didn't work last week, so I need the money... I don't get vacation pay, sick pay, etc... no work = no money. :( At least it hasn't been super busy lately... I've been trying to warn everyone of my illness and stay away from them as much as possible, especially minimizing contact w/clients. How are things going for you? Still doing no sugar? |

Melanie: I've heard that New Zealand is beautiful... never been there, but would like to some day. Wow, you are tall! I'm only about 5'7"... I would tend to agree w/what Chrissy said about your needing to increase your calories once you increase your activity... you're very young and are also tall, so you should be able to eat more w/out a problem.... you can always cut back if necessary. ;) Glad you've gotten out of the binge purge cycle. Welcome! Eva: Haha, yeah it's probably a good thing you couldn't see her too well! Glad you had a good night's sleep and a good b-fast. I just had some pumpkin in my oatmeal and thought of you. ;) Chrissy: I'm the only one who got sick... hubby is fairing okay so far, but nervous. I don't blame him, I don't want him to catch it either. What program do you use to count carbs? Sara: Glad you were able to see some of the meteors... I was asleep, but I don't think it was very clear here anyway. -------------------- My appetite is getting better, but still isn't near where it normally is... normally I struggle to fit in everything I WANT to eat into my cals, now I'm struggling to get some cals in, lol. My eats so far: B-fast: Kashi GoLean Cereal w/flaxseed/raspberries/soymilk; Coffee; 1/2c Egg Beaters w/TLC cheese ~ 372 S: Home-made Pumpkin Protein Bar ~ 194 L: Home-made turkey loaf, black beans, steamed broccoli ~ 247 S: Hot Chocolate ~ 25 D: French toast, Steamed zucchini & yellow squash, Pumpkin oatmeal ~ 390 S: Hot Chocolate ~ 25 |

Bee: Hope you've recovered from your illness and fall off the wagon. I know it's way past the fact, but a food I find comforting that is healthy is baked apple slices w/cinnamon, splenda and nonfat vanilla yogurt all mixed together... warm, sweet, and yummy. :) As for not losing any weight at first - don't worry about it... most often it's only water weight coming off anyways. If you stick to your plan, eat healthy, and exercise, it'll happen for you. This is by far the best way I've ever come across (that actually works) to lose weight. Tenderleigh: So what was the new alcoholic drink you fell in love with? I had a fantastic frozen one in Vegas... it was called 'Wake-up Call' and was frozen cappucino w/Bailey's = yum! That's a great idea about challenging your bf to the 100 push-up challenge! I actually have that app on my iphone, but I haven't started it yet.... procrastinating, I guess. Do you know where in Vegas you're going to be staying yet? Hope you were able to get back on track! ;) Megs: What were you sick with? It seems everyone around here is sick lately. I think I'm struggling w/getting over the flu right now. Bleh. How's the new goal of being less lazy going? Are you getting up any earlier? I am sooo not a morning person, so I usually end up having to workout in the afternoon or evenings. What about trying that? Please don't get discouraged w/losing weight... if you follow everything correctly, you can safely lose 1-2lbs/week. Counting calories really does work and has helped me to lose 50 lbs, so don't give up! Danielle: Sorry to hear you haven't been exercising much lately... me either since I've been on vacation and then sick w/the flu. :( I feel your pain... your poor daughter! I hope she's feeling better now. Joining a pilates class sounds like a lot of fun and def a good motivator! If you're looking to get a dvd to do at night, I'd recommend Jillian Michaels' 'No More Trouble Zones'... kicks my butt! OR, 'The 30 Day Shred', but it's not as intense as the previous one, but a good starting point. Gina: I hope your "mental health" break helped you... I think we all need those every now and then. Glad you were able to get the diet back on track, yay! I really hate how it gets dark so early... can't run outside or even walk the dog in the evenings. :( My poor girl is missing lots of walks. Yeah, I think trying to find a new program to throw yourself into or doing p90x over again will renew your workout motivation. I'm also looking to switch up my weight circuit routine... getting bored of it. Haha, I knew you'd like SanFran better too! LOL ;) As for feeling a bit out of the loop, me too... trying to catch up though. Soraya: Wow, you sound like you've had a lot going on lately! Deep breath... Hope the car trouble worked itself out and your work is going well! Are you still working at the shop, or did you quit? I know you must be feeling bloated... it's that time again! Ugh! Oh, and I think you're so right about Vegas being a place you only want to visit briefly for a couple days... I was ready to leave the second day, lol. Hope you were able to get some of the bloating down and have fun at the party tonight! Good job on the workout! Woot! Stefanie: Vegas was fun, didn't end up seeing any shows though. Hubby wanted to see Penn & Teller, but they didn't perform on Thurs or Fri when we had planned to go. Oh well. Phantom of the Opera sounds cool... Congrats on losing weight and being down 35 lbs! Woot, woot! I have the NROL4W and got into Stage 4 and got bored w/it... I didn't follow the eating plan though, just the calorie recommendations. I've thought about starting it up again, but just don't have the motivation... plus, I hate to wait between reps, I prefer to do my weights heavy in a circuit format. Good luck with the book! ------------------- As for me, I thought I was dying last night... I had a horrible fever, chills, my whole body hurt, congested, sore throat, and a nasty cough. Kind of felt like someone was standing on my chest. I pretty much just layed in bed all afternoon and night. I did work yesterday morning, but I barely made it through... luckily the worst of it didn't hit until the evening. I think I sweat my fever out overnight and am able to at least move around today... I mostly have congestion, sore throat, and a nasty cough that results in coughing up some yummy stuff, lol. Actually, it's more like a body rumbling hack, haha. I try not to cough because it really hurts like hell. So.... haven't been eating too much last couple of days, but am trying to pick healthy options. Obviously that means I haven't been able to workout either... my poor body! I hate feeling so weak and miserable. Blah! |

Hi guys! Chrissy: I hope your experiment goes well and you're able to eat 2000 cals on a regular basis. But, if you do happen to gain from this, I have no doubt that you'll lose it pretty quickly. As for that lady maintaining on 700 calories - THAT IS JUST NUTS. I can't believe she would keep doing this even though she knows she's harming her body... maybe she's borderline ED and just needs some help? That sure isn't much food, especially if she's doing an hour of cardio every day on top of it! Her body must be starving! John: I think I do have the H1N1 flu... or at least the regular old flu. Last night I was really really sick... I got a horrible fever, my cheeks were red and even my ears hurt. I ached all over, even my hands... it was pure h*ll. My hubby took good care of me though and I was able to help sweat out my fever last night. I woke up feeling much better today and went to work again, though feeling weak and I now have a nasty cough w/congestion. Called the doc and since the fever is gone, they recommended buying some Mucinex and trying that. Your daughter is pretty tough if she said her symptoms weren't too bad... last night I just wanted to die, lol. Don't worry about your body fat%... I think it's completely fine and healthy still if you're at 20%. Don't beat yourself up, you've come so far. :) Eva: Glad you had a good time at the Britney Spears concert! I really don't care for her at all, but at least you got lots of free drinks out of it, probably made her look better, lol. I'm sure her show is a huge production and is pretty interesting though. I hope you're able to get some rest and catch up on your sleep... Also, get your eat on, girl! ;) I've also been guilty of undereating the past couple days, but I was so sick (flu, I think).... I had to force myself to eat what I did because I knew I needed energy/fuel. Wow, a whole pumpkin!? What are you going to make w/it? Sara: So did you see any meteors last night? Sounds pretty neat. Pyth0n: Hi and welcome!! :) Congrats on reaching your goal and maintaining for a month now. As for the restricting, I'm pretty sure you don't need to and would get by just fine w/out it. I usually go out to dinner on the weekends and will eat badly at least one or two days and I'm just fine... I don't restrict during the week to compensate for anything... it all just seems to even itself out. Just relax, eat healthy, stay active and you'll be fine. ;) As long as you know you're staying on track most of the time, it's all good. So did you make your 1800 cal goal for today? Also, what are your stats... height, age? Are you in the Netherlands? ------------------------- Back on my feet again today... spent all of yesterday afternoon and night in bed sick. I really wanted to just die last night, I had such a high fever and hurt all over... now today I'm down to some congestion, and a nasty, painful cough w/junk I'm coughing up from my lungs.... nice. So, still no working out for me... I'm still feeling so weak and kinda yucky. I am starting to get some of my appetite back though, so that's good. Gotta rest and get healthy... |

Chrissy: Yep, the appetite is definitely gone. I did have to work today and it was brutal... a few times I thought I wouldn't be able to finish the last couple dogs. I did it though. Yeah, we saw the sirens at TI... hubby wasn't impressed. We ended up trying to leave about 5 minutes into it, but it was almost impossible to get through the sidewalk since there were people everywhere. One lady that was standing by us kept saying that it just used to be pirates and what was with all the girls? LOL I guess they really sexed it up since way back when. I think I had the best sundae at Ghiradelli... how can you possibly go wrong w/PB & chocolate? That's pure bliss, IMO. ;) I didn't know there was a second floor in the M&M place... bummer. As far as your new plan of trying out 2000 cals a day, I think it's a good idea. Why not, right? Hey, if I could eat more and not gain, I'd want to know too. I think two weeks might be okay as long as you stick w/it completely and feel you're pretty accurate. Otherwise, what about doubling that to a month, or 4 weeks? That way you'd pretty much know for sure, right? Because we're females and there's the whole TOTM issue, etc.... might skew it a bit. I know I bloat up and look as if I gain then, but it all goes away again. Just my two cents worth, lol. John: No def not food poisoning... I think I have the flu. Not positive, but I've got a lot of the symptoms... body aches, hot & cold flashes, coughing, runny nose, tiredness, sore throat, head congestion... I feel like death. Sorry your PO'd at yourself. I know how you feel. Don't worry though, you know you'll come out of it all just fine... I can only imagine the amount of calories I've taken in this last week. Congrats on the new bike!!! Woohoo! That must be really exciting... I know how you always loved your old one. Oh, and those Mongolian Grill places are really yummy too. ;) Amy: Nope, not too much partying, lol. Think I caught something off of the many hotel door handles... so many people keep touching those and going in and out all day long. At least that's my theory. Woohoo, you're getting close to a bmi of 20, yay! Yeah, I think it's wise for you to go over it too... 116 lbs sure isn't much! I agree, I'm sure it's very hard to not exercise... think it'd drive me nuts.... although it would be nice to have an excuse not too... I guess it can go both ways. Keep plugging along, you'll get there! :) Sara: Glad rehearsal was good! Hope you got some much needed rest! Debra: I was wondering if we had lost you! Glad we haven't!! :) I think it's great that you're shifting some things around in your life and not making maintenance the focus of it all. Everyone is different and you just need to find what works for you. Me personally, I find that I have to focus on counting cals and eating healthy or I'll end up doing some serious damage to myself. My sweet tooth just seems uncontrollable and I've found that I need to keep counting and focusing on logging everything to eat a balanced and healthier diet. I lack self-control, which I think is something you actually have a lot of, which I envy. :) Best of luck w/your new plan. Laura: Thanks. I guess Vegas wanted me to have a little parting gift of taking some sort of nasty virus home w/me. I'm glad someone actually agrees w/my assesment of Vegas... everyone always says that it's such a blast, etc. It was okay, just not my scene. I think I was ready to leave about the second day too, lol. All of the cigarette smoke and people everywhere was getting to me after awhile. Hubby had fun gambling and playing black jack... he ended up playing at TI for about 3-4 hours while I stood behind him. He was just having so much fun that I couldn't complain... I did get a couple free irish coffee's from the waitress though. ;) Glad to hear that your shoulder got reset... sounds painful. At least it helped though. You sound like me... hurting your shoulder and then deciding that you aren't going to lift as heavy. I think that's the smart way to go... hurting that shoulder was just too painful for me and I don't want to experience that again. Animals are doing pretty well, thanks for asking. :) My dog, Mya, was supposed to go back to the vet today to have her ears checked again (from the infections caused by her allergies), but I had to call and cancel... I feel soo crappy and I don't want to get the girls at the vet sick either. I'm going to shoot for Thursday now. Congrats on all the improved strength, that's great! If you find a new awesome lifting routine, please share... I've got to switch mine up some. Oh, and have a great time in NYC! ---------------------------- Well, I made it through work today feeling like crap... I spent most of the evening last night in bed and am heading back to bed in a minute, after I make myself eat some home-made chili and veggies. I think I have some sort of flu... but I'm not positive. Guess it doesn't really matter as long as it goes away soon. It makes you realize how important your health is and how much it sucks when you're sick and can't do anything.

Hey sexies, I'm back! :) I'm so sorry to see that so many of you have fallen off the wagon or are feeling down... I think everyone goes through that every now and then, that's what makes us human. We'll get back on. :) I have definitely been "off the maintenance wagon" for the past week... not sure what kind of damage I've done, but it's a bit easier when you're in maintenance. Once I get back on track and into my healthy routine, it'll melt off and go back to normal. Vegas was okay, but I don't think I'd go back... it's just not my scene. We had a good time and saw a lot of neat hotels and stuff, but I LOVED my trip to San Francisco so so much more! IMO, Vegas just got "old" after awhile... all the drinking and smoking... casinos taking your money, lol. I sound like such an old fart, LOL! Really, I'm not... I did some drinking and some gambling, but you can only do so much of that. We got back late last night and I've been doing laundry all day... everything smells like cigarette smoke, ugh! I also got sick my last night there... not sure if I have the flu or what. I get the chills and then I start sweating... I have crap in my lungs, sore throat, whole body aches. No appetite and not able to workout.... so much for getting back on track. I am trying to eat healthier today though (when I do eat, lol). Oh, I have to say the best part of my trip was going to the Hoover Dam - it was beautiful (profile pic)! Also, the Bellagio's water fountain/light show was gorgeous and amazing too. :) I was able to workout two of the days we were there... I found out the hotel charges $20/day to use their gym!! I thought that was nuts... I've never been to a hotel that charges for the gym! So... I made up my own little workout. The first day I ran around the outside track around the pool, which was a 1/4 mile and did that 4 times. The next day I went down the stairwell and kept going up and down the stairs... no one was on them, so it was great. Didn't workout the other days, but we did SO much walking that my legs and feet were so sore. I know I just talked about me and didn't comment specifically on anyone else... I'll come back later. Off to rest in bed for now... feeling really crappy and I have to work tomorrow morning. Bleh. Hope you're all doing well!! :) |

So where is everyone? Probably out enjoying the day, lol. I had originally planned on getting right back into my normal routine today, but it just didn't workout that way. My body is so sore and I keep getting the chills and then sweating... Plus I have throat and lung issues... not sure if I have the flu or what. Whatever it is, it's severly curbed my appetite and put a kabosh on my working out for now. :( Guess I'll just try and ease back into healthier eating and try and get some rest so I can work tomorrow. My eats so far: B-fast: Coffee w/half cup soy milk ~ 40 (I normally WOULD eat b-fast, but I was feeling so sick and slept so late) L: Taco Bell - 2 Fresco crunchy tacos, Fresco chicken ranchero soft taco ~ 470 S: Home-made Birdseed Bar ~ 189 S: Pure Protein Peanut Butter Bar ~ 200 D: Baked apple w/nonfat yogurt/splenda/cinnamon ~ 218 S: Home-made PB/Banana Oat Cookie ~ 132 |

Amy: Yeah, the trip was pretty fun! I definitely let loose and enjoyed myself. Congrats on being 5lbs from your bmi goal! I'm happy you're getting close! :) John: So you think you'd hang out in the old section of Vegas? C'mon, you're more hip than that! You don't want to hang out w/all the old ladies w/out panties! LOL Vegas is still the same in that they bring you free drinks (just remember to tip the waitress) if you're gambling, but I didn't see any super cheap breakfast places. Chrissy: You can see all the pics on my FB... I got the Ghiradelli Gold Rush (PB sundae) and hubby got the mint one w/dark chocolate. Yeah, it was the same one I had in SF... it was so perfect though, hard to top! I hope to go to LA sometime, but not in the near future... I have to cool it on the traveling for awhile now. ;) yeah, the frozen drinks are pricey... refills are a bit cheaper if you save your glass and bring it back though. I had 2 irish coffees at Treasure Island for you. :) yep, I think the McDonald's was near a 7-11... it was next door to a Fatburger. I went in the M&M store, but didn't see any M&M's... just clothes and stuff. Oh, and NO - I wasn't counting cals at all. Also, thanks for the pep talk. ;) Sara: I did take quite a few pics... we did some shopping and walked around a LOT. The sundae was heaven... Eva: Thanks for the tip on the lavender oil! Were you able to get some more pumpkin, or are you still all out?? Wow, Britney Spears? That should be... interesting. ;) --------------------------------------------- --- Well, I'm back home. :) I ended up getting sick my last night in Vegas and I felt like death when I got up this morning... I ended up sleeping in pretty late when I was supposed to go pick up my pets ( I think they understood though, lol). Hubby was sweet though and drove me to get them and picked-up some yummy bagels for the girls (a thank you for them taking care of our pets). I had no appetite whatsoever this am and only had coffee for b-fast (which I spilled all over my shirt in the car, lol). Hubby talked me into going w/him to Taco Bell for lunch and I had a few fresco tacos, felt a little better. Had one of my home-made Birdseed bars too. I need to go grocery shopping and get some more veggies and fruit, but I feel like crap... |

John: Yes, that's a bummer about the food... I've noticed though that the older section of the stip (near Freemont) advertises cheap dinners and stuff, but it's old and not much is going on over there. Oooh, the apples w/honey and cinnamon w/ice cream sounds so good. Chrissy: Yeah, I love the water show too... I really want to go see it again tonight or tomorrow again. That's funny about you calling all the buffets. Doesn't hurt to make sure they have something you like though. Let me know how the spaghetti squash turns out and what you do w/it. How was the pumpkin pie? Glad your physical went well! :) I think it's good you're having the thyroid checked. Laura: Glad you had fun at the wedding... even if it was a bit too much. ;) I also had a good time last night... we ended up being up till 3:30am this morning and eating at McDonald's at about 2:30am, lol. McDonald's cheeseburgers taste amazing at that time of morning, right after some beer. I don't exactly feel amazing today. Oh well. Sorry the food at the wedding was yucky... not sure why people at all these weddings have such yucky food, lol. As for your shoulder and the bench press - that sucks! I feel your pain on that one... don't turn into me, hurting yourself like that.... I hurt mine on the bench press. How's it feeling today? At least the hammy is better now. :) I haven't done any formal workouts yesterday or today, but I've been doing a lot of walking... my feet and legs are really sore, so that's gotta count for something, right? ;) Amy: Hi! How are you? How's the weight gain going?? :) Eva: Yes, you should bake the pumpkin cranberry muffins sometime... it was actually a bread recipe orignally, but I like them as muffins since the serving size is easier and more convenient. When I make them they never last long, lol. Yeah, I'm trying to be a good tourist. ;) Congrats on finishing high school!! yay!! As for the bloating... I tend to get bloated a lot lately too... especially when I eat veggies. Not sure how to cure it... I kinda just take a lot of Gas-X, lol. Sara: Maybe it's just that our hotel has bad food? Not sure yet... everywhere just seems so expensive. Yeah, you'd think w/making so much money here they could afford to make better food... we're wishing we were staying somewhere else more "hip" (lots of older people here), but we stayed here for my husband's conference, which is attached to this hotel... we went to the Hard Rock Hotel last night and that was awesome... wishing we were staying there. Oh well. Yeah, shopping is a good workout. :) Do you get heart palpitations when you have coffee or too much caffeine?? I always used to have that problem (I have anxiety, which fueled it), but now I take meds to slow my heart and help w/the anxiety... I've been drinking coffee almost daily (though doc recommends not to) and I've been doing okay... I always used to start sweating too. Good luck w/your theatre callback! I saw a little bit of Glee last night... so funny. I missed it too and glad it's back. :) --------------------------- Late late night last night... up until 3:30am! I've been really bad w/my food, but I'm having fun. We ate McDonald's at 2:30am... crazy. Had mexican yesterday and a giant Gold Rush sundae at Ghiradelli's! I was sooo excited when I saw they had one here. Hubby had to take a pic of me w/it... it's a tradition, lol. Also have been having too many of those darn frozen drinks... those probably aren't good for you either... don't want to know how many cals are in those huge things. I had a Pina Coloda one the other day and last night I had one called Wake-up Call that was Baily's Irish Cream & cappucino... yum. Slept through b-fast today, so went straight to lunch which was just Baja Fresh... some chicken tacos, chips, salsa. My tummy didn't like it though and I got really sick from it after. Hope dinner goes better... I think we're going to go see the shark reef in our hotel now and go get some gel inserts for my new boots I bought yesterday... I wore them all night and could barely walk after awhile, my feet are so blistered on the bottom. Quite painful, but I love the boots... hubby just doesn't understand, lol. ;) |

Chrissy: Yep, I actually got a workout in the last two days. :) On Monday I ran the 1/4 mile loop around the pool area, and then yesterday I went into the stairwell and went up and down a section of them for about 20-25 minutes. It was a good workout no one seems to ever go in there. I also walked for hours and hours yesterday... hubby was in his seminar thing, so I went down Las Vegas Blvd. and went to one of the malls. I bought two brazillian dresses (the kind that are silk and wrap around you in all different styles - basically a bunch of dresses in one). I was looking for some light brown leather boots to wear w/them, but haven't found any that i like that fit me yet.... the search continues. haha. The buffet wasn't all it's cracked up to be... it was $38 per person for the day and you can only go a max of three times... they give you a card that they punch. We went twice, the first time was at the end of b-fast, beginning of lunch... the b-fast stuff wasn't bad, kind of yummy. The lunch stuff wasn't very good. We had to go back for dinner and that was horrible.... the food tasted really cheap and gross, half of it was cold or kind of hard... yuck. Even the carrot cake tasted kind of funny... don't think it was real cream cheese on top either. Absolutely horrible. My breakfast yesterday was really yummy... we went to this cafe in our hotel and I had an egg white omelette w/spinach and mushroom w/some potatoes and OJ. Pricey though... I think my b-fast alone was $20. That's one thing - Vegas is sooo expensive. The food costs a fortune and a lot of it isn't even that good. Oh, I thought of you Chrissy, last night... we had Ben & Jerry's ;). The Edy's shop the other day was a tiny little stand- type place in a food court off of Las Vegas Blvd... Yeah, the b-day cake ice cream does remind me of the funfetti cake frosting... mmm. No shows lined up right now... I saw the lions in the MGM though. Feel kinda bad for them, it's such a small area. The rainforest cafe is there too. The aquarium and shark reef is at the hotel I'm in... haven't seen it yet though. Saw the Belagio's fountain show at night and it was gorgeous! It was going to "viva las vegas" that time. :) So what are you baking w/the pumpkin and the spaghetti squash?? Sara: Yay, glad they brought your fro-yo back in the dining hall... love that stuff now since Chrissy got me hooked, haha. Yeah, I'm glad I was creative w/my workouts too... I'd rather spend the $20 on shopping and getting something I like. :) Hope your burn is feeling better now... hopefully if you keep putting lotion and stuff on it, it'll heal over nicely. Eva: I LOVE pumpkin too! It goes well in sooo many things. I love to bake w/pumpkin... I sometimes make these really yummy pumpkin cranberry muffins... they're soo good! John: Your wife's pumpkin /walnut/choc chip cookies sound amazing!! I like the pumpkin spice type ales... yum. |

Chrissy: Yeah, I did eat lots of yummy food... we bought the all day buffet for today, so lots of food. We went right before they started serving lunch, so we got some b-fast stuff too... french toast, blueberry pancakes, bacon, banana nut muffin, pizza, scrambled eggs, eggs benedict... not to mention all of the amazing desserts they had. I was like a kid in a candy store, lol. Of course they had carrot cake, so I HAD to have that one... haha. They had these mini little dessert cup type things too... kind of the size of a reese's pb cup, that was a crusty shell that you ate, filled w/different stuff... one of a rich chocolate w/raspberry sauce, they had tiramisu, coconut cream pie... lots of cookies there, oh, and german chocolate cake. Don't worry, I didn't eat every single dessert I mentioned... I did have the carrot cake, few bites of the rich chocolate cup thing (too rich) and some German Chocolate cake (they were small slices). Oh, and tried the top of a banana nut muffin, but it wasn't worth eating it all, plus I was full. Oh, and I thought of you this afternoon... there's a place in our hotel that has fro-yo and crepes, so we got a little fro-yo - I had a mix of Almond Joy Coconut, Peanut Butter, & Low Fat Chocolate. The PB was the best one. I feel like such a glutton... and we haven't even had dinner yet. Yeah, the Paris hotel was very pretty inside... really felt like you were outside. So you've been to Coyote Ugly?? Not worth it? Haha, we walked by a Ben & Jerry's down the strip earlier... I didn't have any because we went to Edy's last night and I had a little B-day Cake ice cream and cotton candy ice cream. ;) I'm waiting for hubby to come back from his conference... while they were gone I got creative and got a workout in. I ended up running laps on the 1/4 mile path outside around the pool... ended up doing 4 laps (1 mile) and then coming back up to the room and doing some dips on the chair, some push-ups, and some bicycle crunches. Yes, having to pay that much a day is robbery for something that's supposed to be an amenity. I saw it when I was running outside and it didn't even look that impressive. Running outside was fine w/me as long as no one jumps out of the bushes and tries to get me, lol. Had the path to myself most of the time and no one else was out running... it was dark and kinda cold, but nice running weather. |

Chrissy: The hotel w/the clouds on the ceiling that looks like its outside is the Paris. I went in and took a few pics, it's so cool. It really does feel like you're outside or kind of like you're under the Eiffel Tower... they have the legs sticking out through the ceiling here and there since it towers above the whole hotel. Cesar's Palace is also really gorgeous. We went to TI, but it was early and the sexy sirens weren't out yet... maybe later. Might be going to Coyote Ugly later, we'll see... Yeah, I've been eating like a little piggy, but hopefully with all the walking I'll be fine and it'll balance out in the end. ;) Eva: Meal plan is looking good! I see you had the pumpkin oatbran again (not that I'd blame you, lol)! Mmm... soy latte's sound good too. I love a good latte. ---------------------------------------- So we saw the Hoover Dam yesterday and it was pretty gorgeous there. Last night we walked down the strip for awhile. We also did a ton of walking even further down the strip today... my feet are so sore! I'm so happy for all the walking exercise though. It was really nice out earlier too. We got to see a lot of cool hotels and I found a new store I'm in love with... Lush. They sell all organic/vegan body stuff... really yummy smelling soaps, bath bombs and lotion bars. I think I may treat myself to a nice bath soon before we go out later. Going to go and try to run outside... they have a 1/4 mile track around the pool. That, or maybe find the stairs and run those, but my feet are so sore I don't think I'll be able to do many. Oh, get this - they charge a fee of $20 a DAY to use the gym at the hotel!!! I couldn't believe it! I've never stayed at one where they charge, especially that much a day... one of the other girls I ran into earlier was complaining about it and she said running the stairs or around the hotel was what she was going to do. I guess I'll have to be creative... I can do push-ups, sit-ups, and chair dips in my room and I can run the track or the stairs (if I can find them). |

Chrissy: Yeah, I'll try and eat lots of (healthy) yummies when possible. Seems like there is so much bad (unhealthy) food all over the place, but then again, maybe that's just what's catching my eye. lol I haven't been doing too horibbly so far and have been trying to be somewhat mindful of what's going in my mouth. We did a lot of walking down the strip last night, so that was good exercise. ;) Haven't found the hotel w/the clouds on the ceiling and bricks on the floor yet, but probably soon. Oh, I fly back late Saturday. Wow, that sucks you had to do the floor trainer's duties and about the idot complaining about opening 2 minutes late... Is 2 minutes really going to make that much of a difference in their life??? come on! Haha, I agree w/Eva... douche!! Eva: Reading your meal plan is making me sooo hungry! I'm starving right now... really need to find some breakfast. That Pumpkin spice oatmeal you had w/banana, etc, sounds yummo! Sara: Your brunch sounds lovely... so good! Great job on getting to the gym and doing 7 miles, nuts! Debra: Glad you had a great time at the cottage! Raking leaves doesn't sound like a good time to me, but I'm sure you got a great workout from it. Sounds like you and the kids had some great bonding time and indulged and relaxed a bit. :) Oooh, I used to love the game Trouble!!! So fun! John: Haha, no Vegas tv commercials for me! Yeah, we're having fun, but so far I LOVED my trip to San Francisco sooo much more. Vegas isn't really my scene, but I'm trying to enjoy it.... just gotta give it more time since I've only been here a day so far. I hope you're all doing well! :) I'll try and check in again when I can...

Hey guys! Just stopping by to say a quick "hi" and thanks for all the well wishes! :) I just finished packing... have to get up at 4am, ugh. I think we'll have a blast though and I'm excited. I do miss my pets already though... I'm watching my doggy sleeping right now (she's in a webcame room). Don't know how often I'll be able to post, but I can read them on my phone, just can't reply from there. Hope you all have a great week and stay healthy! ;) |

Debra: Thanks! As far as not being bored while on the elliptical... well, I usually find a movie on that I like, or watch a program that I recorded... makes time go by much more quickly. I was watching the movie Sweet November today... it's sad though! Chrissy: Thanks for the show link... looks cool. I'll have to mention it to hubby... of course it's a plus that it's free. ;) Yeah, poor hubby today.. stuck w/us gassy females, lol. We're actually going to Vegas because hubby has a conference he's attending for work... his boss and his wife are going too. I'm just along for the ride since it was a cheap vacation (after his work part is done) for us... we only have to pay for my airfare and dinners pretty much. Eva: Sorry about your period... I've also lost mine in the past. After I lost the 50 lbs, I think it kind of shocked my body or something. I went to the doctor and she ran a whole hormone panel & everything... turns out I now have a hormone imbalance, so she had to put me back on birth control (I had been off for a year due to extreme moodiness from it) to balance out my hormones... I also had an ultrasound done on my ovaries and I have the super tiny cysts, so that contributes to my issues I'm sure too. Anyways, I did get my period back shortly after that and a few months ago I lost it again (briefly), but now it's back, but it's fairly light and doesn't last long. I would advise you to eat the 2500 and keep your activity very light or maybe even not workout for awhile and see what happens... I've seen a similar post on here somewhere about someone recovering from and ED and someone told her not to run anymore and just rest and eat her recommended calories and it should come back... I think you should call your doc and ask just to be sure though. Sarah: Yeah, gotta love the little black dress. :) Glad today was a good day for you and the film thesis went well. Yay, for your uncle's screening going well too! |

Chrissy: So where does the TI show play at? Sounds kind of interesting... Me, win money? Yeah, right, I wish. LOL I'm not much into gambling since I always seem to lose, so probably won't be doing much of it. We leave early Sunday morning... I think we're going to go see the Hoover Dam on Sunday afternoon. Should be fun. Ah, I also felt really gassy this morning... yuck. My tummy still feels bloaty. Even my dog is gassy... A few minutes ago I heard something and realized that she was just laying there ripping them, lol! Must be her meds or something... Sara: I really wish out pets could just tell us what wrong... that'd make it so much easier. Thanks for the pep talk... it made me feel better. :) You're so sweet! Sorry about the half bag of Cheetos, but I can relate. Pouring them out in a bowl ahead of time is a good idea... if I take the bag of anything, I usually eat a lot more than I should. Glad you're friend was there to listen. Have a blast dancing the night away! Debra: Glad you're in a better frame of mind today... I think I am too. Good job on getting your workout in! I think packing the lunch and snacks is a great idea... helps keep you on track. That show sounds pretty interesting... I think the trainer has a great point about eating things that actually have value and nutrients for our bodies. Hope you have an awesome time at the cottage! --------------------------------- Worked this am and then picked-up my dry cleaning (little black dress for Vegas) and just finished a 2hour workout... did 60min elliptical, then upper body weight circuit, followed by another 20min on the elliptical. :) Made me feel much better...
