I am actually from Iowa but my husband is from Missouri and we have lived in the Kansas City area for 20+ years now. And I consider Missouri home. So does that count?

feanor wow it sounds like I hit a sore spot with you. Actually a person can drink too much water and deplete their systems I will say it isn't a common thing but it is possable I have seen it done. Water is a good thing but like too much of something can sometimes be bad. Wasn't trying to piss anyone off just a friendly warning.

be carefull not to drink to much water it can flush out too much not just sodium I know it can make you have seizures (not meaning to scare you or anything). Please be carefull!

Hi ohiomom I'm soo glad I'm meeting people like me. Maybe we can all find the support we need. I have one friend who needs to loose about the same amount as I do and I have been telling her about CC. Hi dt66, I could make room for the bike it is just the expense right now what time and channel are the workouts on cable. I should give that at least a try. And yes attitude says it all. Mind over matter is what I keep telling myself. Set my mind to it and the junk food doesn't matter.  It is nice to meet you keep in touch.

malicar, downdeep is right, surgery is a quick and easy way out. But even if you opt. for surgery, you still have to make the lifestyle change. If you don't the weight will eventually find it's way back to you, so lets try the lifestyle change a bit longer. We can do this, I know we can. We just have to set our minds to it and help each other. It sounds like this is a great place, with people who have the same problem as we do. If we stick together and help each other it will help. I mean since you have to make the lifestyle change regardless why not put off the trauma your body will have to go through and give this some more time to work. Just keep remembering this is not a diet, this is not a diet, this is not a diet.

Hi everyone. I'm 4days new to this site I'm glad I found an over 200 place with people who need to loose as much as I do. I weight 282 now down from 290or so I say this because I started my lifestyle change (not diet) about 3 weeks ago but didnt have a scale.  Got my scale when I found this site, And have lost 3 pounds in 4 days. I'm 47 and 5'9". I am married now for 26 years and hae been down to a size 8-10 several times. But the ways I got there were very unhealthy. My husband is overweight also. So I am making this change for the both of us. we have 7 grandkids that we would like to see grow up and have kids of there own. My drawbacks are I have osteoarthritis in my hip as well as a cyst in my pelvic bone above the same hip joint, my knees kill me. some days it hurts to sit let alone walk. I have 132 pounds to go and like all of you could use the support of people in my weight range. Hi malicar, I'm fourty 47 and needed to loose 140 pounds. I have done the same as techdog as far as cutting out the fast food and switching to low fat, no fat and added sugar free things whenever possible. I've only been at it 3 weeks and I've lost 12 pounds. I'm too affraid of surgery so that isn't an opption for me. Your first post was just over a week ago and you didn't say how long you have been on your quest this time. I'm hopeing I can find enough support here to help me. It sounds like we are all in the same boat and I'm not willing to let it sink. And if it starts to sink I hope someone will thow a life vest to me.I'm really set on changing my lifestyle (not dieting). Thats what it really is. Diet is such an ugly word. And in all reality, fast food may fill a person up, but it really makes you feel like you have a brick in your belly, where as fresh fruits and veggies fill you up but without the brick in the belly feeling. And really taste so much better. And razzberry has a lot of good ideas that I am using and some I'm considering using, thanks razzberry. And she is right your calorie intake isn't enough. Try to raise it a little.  Good luck to you.  If you would like to talk I have a good ear.
