I haven't been on here in a while, really busy at work.  I'm starting to show now, 16 weeks.  I think that I am gaining weight too quickly.  With my 1st pregnancy I gained about 50 lbs and I don't want to do that again, but it seems to be where I'm headed.  I've still been working out, but not as long.  It's just so hard to get the energy.  I've been doing some gardening on the weekends, but even that is hard to do for long because of all the bending over causes me to lose my breath.  Hopefully I get some energy for a little while, I remember how exhausted I was at the end with my last pregnancy.  It would really help if my husband were around a little more to help out with our son, but he is working a second job to help get caught up and have enough money for our winter fuel bill put away.  Hopefully he can be done with his second job soon.

Pregnancy & Parenting How long did you work up until you had your baby? Jun 16 2008

I worked until the day before I had my son.  I left work early for a Dr appt and found out he was breech, had a scheduled c-section the next day on my Dr's lunch break, guess he had a busy schedule that day.

I also have been finding it hard to exercise.  Even when I do go to the gym I don't work too hard or stay very long.  My energy level had been doing a little better, but it's kind of in spurts.  Some days I have a lot of energy and others I don't want to get off the couch.  I'm really hoping to get some more energy back, I'm worried I'll gain a ton of weight if I keep this up.

I am at 15 weeks this week and am just starting to feel the baby moving.  It's a nice feeling, makes it seem more real.

With my 1st it took me almost 2.5 years.  I also have PCOS and took metphormin to control insulin levels and help to lose weight.  I also took prometrium for a year to start my periods up, because I hadn't had one for a year after I went off the pill.  When I started the metformin I lost weight and started having periods on my own, I lost about 45 pounds in 3-4 months on the South Beach Diet and was pregnant.  I had basically given up on getting pregnant and concentrated on losing the weight.  Now I am pregnant with my second and it only took about 5 months and 12 pounds less to get pregnant (w/o metformin).  There is a website PCOS worldwide support that may interest you also (www.pcosworldwidesupport.com).

Thanks. I read your journal postings and it seems we are pretty similar.  When I first began taking prometrium I weighed about 270.  My Dr said a 10% wieght loss could be enough to get things back to normal.  I know my Dr said she wanted me to lose a little more before getting pregnant too, but she never asked me to wait until I got down to a specific weight.  Hopefully things will work out for you too. Also, if you are trying to get pregnant the prometrium can cause a miscarraige, my Dr advised me to take a pregnancy test every month before taking the prometrium again (just thought you would want to know that). Oh and prepare yourself, taking that test every month and it coming back negative can be very depressing, but you probably already know that.

I was prescribed Prometrium before I got pregnant with my son who is 17 months now.  I had not had a period for a year when I started the prometrium, really all it did was make me have a period.  I have PCOS (polycystic ovary syndrome) which is caused by blood sugar levels and hormone imbalance.  The prometrium in my opinion did nothing to help me get pregnant.  After a year of taking it, I saw a different DR who said I could continue it but also had me start taking Metphormin which is a Diabetic medication.  My fasting blood sugars were at 102, which I understand is the high side of normal, but not a diabetic level.  The new DR also suggested I try the South Beach diet to lose weight.  I stopped taking the prometrium and after 3 months and 45 pounds lighter I was not taking the metphormin any more, my periods were closer to normal and I got pregnant.  I would suggest talking to your Dr more about it, but for me the trick seemed to be losing weight.  I am now pregnant again after trying for about 5 months (a lot faster that 2.5 years) and I had lost about 12 pounds this time.  I really think a lot of my infertility issues were related to my weight.  Good Luck.

We are still deciding if we are going to find out what we are having or not.  Last time we didn't and it was a pleasant surprise.  I have a girls name picked out, but not a boys name yet.

I went for a walk with my son in his wagon last night and I could swear the hill next to our house has gotten bigger since the last time I walked it.  I've been going to the gym but I haven't been doing much walking at home since I found out I was pregnant.  I guess I'll have to start doing more.

I plan to get some gardening done this weekend.  Our house that we bought last fall had a garden spot on it that hadn't been used for several years, so it's pretty weedy.  We started tilling it, but I'm going to have to try to dig out some of the weed roots before we do any more.  I'm hoping to get that done and tilled and planted mostly this weekend.  I'll see how I'm feeling though.

My brother-in-law and his wife adopted from Russia.  The kids are great, but it was a very stressful ordeal for them to get them.  I think adoption is a wonderful thing, but it can also be very difficult and expensive.  Good Luck.

I found a pretty cheap tankini type on Ebay that I just bought.  I haven't got it in the mail yet, so I'll have to see how it fits.  I figure any swimsuit is not going to look that great this year, so I decided to go with one that was really cheap.

I haven't been having problems lately with the blurred vision or dizziness, that was a couple of weeks ago and it only happened twice.  I'm hoping it was just a fluke.  I've been having a bit more energy the last few days, I did get my raspberry bushes trimmed yesterday and some other yard work, and that was after I worked out.  A pretty good day.  My husband cooked supper last night, breakfast sausage, eggs and toast...everything tastes better when you don't have to make it.  My son really liked it, he ate 2 sausage patties.

Nenewa with my first pregnancy, I had an ultrasound every month for the first 4 months.  They were having trouble hearing the heartbeat very good, so they did the ultrasound to check.  I had good insurance at the time, so I wasn't concerned about the price of them, but I think it would be a good idea to check if it is completely necessary.

My Dr appt on Wednesday went well, babies heartbeat was at 159. The Dr thought I could be getting blurred vision and dizziness from not drinking enough water.  I will have to try harder to drink more water.

I had a great weekend travelling to see some family, but I'm glad to be home now. My neice who is a month younger than my son was with and those two had a blast. They were laughing most of the weekend.

I have a bunch of yard work to get done, but I set my goal for tonight to at least get the raspberry bushes trimmed up. That is after I go and work out. I'm getting caught up today on work, one woman was on vacation last week and that put me way behind on my work.

I have been craving chinese food also, especially egg rolls.  Also chips and salsa, spicier foods than I usually like. The worst is probably the chocolate cravings, but I've found chocolate milk helps to control those.

I am 12 weeks pregnant and I seem to have been more tired this pregnancy than my last.  I haven't been drinking as much water as I probably should be, especially on the weekends. I just don't seem that thirsty and if I do drink more, it feels like I spend half the day in the bathroom.  The blurred vision only happened once, but I've gotten dizzy twice now.  I want to figure out what is going on before it happens again.

I still haven't decided on a birth plan for this baby, I have a couple of options.  I had a c-section with my 1st because he was breech and too big to turn around although he seemed to manage to.  So I didn't really have any complications that would require me to get a c-section again, so I can do a normal birth or a c-section. I'm kind of leaning towards having a c-section again, just because that I already know, but I have a lot of time to decide yet.

Today I am feeling a little less tired than I have been,  I hope that means this tiredness is taking a break for a while.  I have been trying hard to eat a little better, this morning I had a banana and an apple with a small bowl of cereal. I worked out last night, but I don't think I will be able to today, I have a DR appt this afternoon. I've been getting some blurred vision and dissiness that I plan to ask the Dr about today.  Have a great day everyone.

My son is the same way, he eats very little most of the time.  He is at the lower range of normal weight and was underweight for a while.  His Dr. said to keep giving him all sorts of foods and try new things and not to worry about him being under weight...her theory in a couple years I shouldn't have to worry about him being overweight.

I would like to join too.  I am 12 weeks and this is my second pregnancy.  I've been very tired but never got sick, but I wasn't sick with my first either.  I am just now starting to outgrow some of my jeans so I guess I'll have to go shopping soon.

I'm probably similar to others in that I didn't think I would get pregnant so quickly.  My 1st took 2.5 years to get pregnant with and only about 5 months with this pregnancy.  I was also hoping to loose a bit more weight first, but I have been being careful to not go too overboard on the cravings.  I am planning to stay more active this pregnancy, I do not want to gain 50 lbs this time.

My son is 16 months old and loves putting his food in his hair.  It's usually when he's done eating and is just playing.  He gets really messy, but I'm hoping it is just a stage he is going through and will outgrow.  He has been getting better lately, but has not completely stopped it.  Good Luck.

Weight Loss Over 100lbs to lose have PCOS Mar 31 2008

I have PCOS and tried for several years to get pregnant.  My first DR suggested hormone pills, which only helped to make me have TTOM, I tried that for a year.  A second DR suggested I take Diabetic medication to get my blood sugars under control (which were only at 100 at the time) and to lose weight.

I started at 270 and I lost about 45 lbs following the South Beach Diet (in about 4 months) and got pregnant pretty quickly.  My blood sugars had also dropped to the point where my DR had me stop taking the diabetic medication.  My son is now 15 months old and I am now trying to lose the weight I gained from my pregnancy and then some.

Good luck to you in this very emotional journey.

I gained a lb this week, but I'm not going to let it get me down.  I will keep working at it and soon the weight will be coming off again.

I had a very, very bad weekend and ended up gaining quite a bit on Monday.  It has come down some since then, but today I weighed 226.  So I'm up 2 lbs for the week.

It's pretty depressing, but I know the reason for it.  I have to stay away from drinking and family dinners.  I had 3 Easter dinners to go to and instead of eating only a little at each, like I had planned, I ate a whole plate of food at each.  Ugh... I know better, but I get carried away sometimes.  I will have to start fresh this week and do better by next Friday.

Di - Have you been drinking enough water?  It could be a little water weight.  I would wait a couple of days to see if the weight sticks around.

I'm hoping the weight gain I had is just temporary also.

It sounds like you're doing everything right otherwise.

So my weight today is 226.0, the same as last week.  Considering all the food I ate over the weekend that is not too bad, but last week Wednesday I had dropped down to 223, so it's not great either.  I am really hoping that 3 lbs are still some water weight, I guess I will see tomorrow.  Oh and Friday at the Gym I jogged for 5 minutes straight.  That is an accomplishment for me...I've only been able to get up to 4 minutes before that.  Tonight I will shoot for 5.5 minutes.  Have a great Day!!!

I decided not to weigh myself today, I will do it tomorrow.  I had 3 Easter meals to go to yesterday.  I ate way too much at all of them.  I did ok with the chocolate, but I ate cheesy potatoes at each meal and they were sooo good.  I've decided to stay away from the carbs for a couple of days and see where I am with my weight then.

Great job Kae... I had dropped down to 223 yesterday, but was back up to 224 today.  I am still down from Mondays weight of 226.  I am not going to the gym tonight because I am taking my son to a Dr. Appt this afternoon, it is very nice out so I am planning to go for a walk with the stroller instead.  I'm getting a little nervous about the holiday weekend coming up.  Hopefully I can manage some sort of will power.

I lost another lb today.  I'm not sure what is working, but something seems to be.  I have been doing really well during the week, but not so hot on the weekends.  I figure if I can stick with a pound or 2 a week that will be great.  The exercising I've been doing is probably the key, I go to the gym every day after work.  That seems to make me feel better too.  I've lost 18 lbs so far and dropped a pants size, which is very exciting.  Good Luck to everyone this week...

I would like to join this group if I'm not too late.  I am 28, 5'8" from Willard, Wisconsin.  I started weighing 242 on Jan 1st and was just watching what I ate and exercising.  I joined CC about 3 weeks ago.  My current weight is 224, 18 lbs lost so far.  My goal weight is 160, however I have a mini goal of 200 for the summer.  I think a goal weight for April would be 218, which is what I had gotten down to (from 270) when I got pregnant with my son after trying for over 2 years.

I had a pretty good weekend.  I went for walks with my son both Sat & Sun.  Sunday I even rode horse for a little while.  I kept under by a few hundred calories which is better than I've been doing on the weekend, so I'm happy about that, but still not so hot on drinking water.

Today's weight - 226.0

Last week's weight - 227.0

Starting weight - 242.0

Total weight lost - 16 lbs

Goal - 160, 66 lbs from Goal...and counting...

Yeah I've lost another lb, down to 226 from 242 Jan 1, 16 lbs total.  I'm very happy with that. The sun is out today and some of that dang snow is melting, soon spring will be here and I can get back outside.  It is a good day.

I've been getting back on track after the horrible weekend.  I am back down to 227 today and am feeling much better.  All that salty junk food and little water over the weekend made me feel all bloated.  I have a workout class tonight, that usually wears me out but I feel good when I'm done with it.

It is snowing here...when is spring going to get here? I'm so sick of winter.

Ugh Birthday Parties.  I did terrible this weekend, snacked like crazy and didn't drink much water.  Last week I weighed 229.0, this week 228.0 down 1lb but Friday I had been down to 227.0 so up 1 lb since then.  I think it may be water weight but I will have to see later this week.

Ah Yes here comes the weekend.  I have to nephew's B-Day parties to go to, one tonight and one Saturday.  So I will have to find some extra willpower to fight off the cake, ice cream and chips.

So far today I've had

Breakfast: Chocolate Slim Fast shake and banana.

snack: Rice cakes

Lunch: Chicken & Wild Rice Soup.

Snack: 100 calorie pack that I brought with.

Dinner: will probably be Subway before the Birthday party.

Good Luck with the weekend everyone.  I will be working on staying away from the cake and ice cream and drinking more water.
