I just read this post and hadn't heard of NROLFW before. Sounds interesting. I just started RRFL and HIIT. doing them the same day. HIIt last. 3x a week and then either moderate cardio or yoga on off days. I am 29 year old female happy with my weight just looking to tone up. So which is better NROLFW or RRFL?

Fitness kettle bell-- Good or should I pass. Oct 14 2008

I use a kettle bell and love it. I have been working out for 10 years and usually use dumbells. The kettle ball allows for different movements and you use your whole body with the excercises. Mine came with a DVD. I would start with a smaller weight than you think because the excercises are faster and you swing the ball. Start small and get used to it to prevent injurie. I would do  some excercises with the ball at the store to see wich weight you want. One excercise is you hold ball with both hands squat and as you come up swing the ball straight out in front of you. As you squat back down you swing the ball between your legs.. You must get a ball that allows you to maintain control and good form. I burn a lot of calories using my kettle ball and get a great total body workout in a short amount of time.

Weight Loss The Zone Diet? Oct 14 2008

I tried it. It is healthy and has good principles but it is hard and tedious to follow. I couldn't stick with it. I didn't have the time. So even though I lost I gained it back. The South Beach Diet is great. I wouldn't do the first phase but start at the second phase. It is a good way to learn healthy eating habits. You have to find something you can stick with as a lifestyle change.

Weight Loss Confused and frustrated Feb 24 2008

Hi! I know it is frustrating. I have also struggled with plataue. Your body has a set point for your weight. When you are at a certain weight for awhile your body sets at that weight. Then when you loose weight after awhile it is almost as if your body works against you trying to maintain weight.  So keep pushing through. I have read some of the replys and I agree keep your calories higher than 1200 you don't want your body to go into starvation mode. Also look at where your calories are coming from. Good complex carbs.. think fiber. Also fruit and potatoes are not bad! Lean lowfat protein. Healthy fats also help your body burn the bad fat. Think nuts, olives, ect.. Check your labels. Even if something says it is fat free. Stay away from High frutcose corn syrup and hydregonated oils.. Even if it says fat free most of the time they contain trace fat which your body still uses as fats that are bad for you. Don't focus so much on weight but how you feel and your measurements. Definitely don't check these everyday. The fluctuations can make you frustrated. Try in the morning first thing once a month. You may also be gaining muscle which is good. Muscle weighs more than fat but takes up less space. That's why you want to go by your measurements and how your clothes feel. Muscle also burns more calories. So on top of core I would add some free weights. Try some other types of cardio. If you are new to weights get 3lb and 5lb dumbells. Get a video for beginners. Jeanette Jenkins has a cardio sculpt that rocks. Hope this helped! It took me until my daughter  was 3 to loose those last 10 pregnancy pounds.  So take your time and focus on being healthy and feeling great!
