Thank you. That's a lovely idea. I don't have a garden, which is why I had thought a tree I could visit near me would be nice. The current choices I've found so far are one in an unkown location in Shropshire, or one I could visit with a plaque thats too far away.

Maybe one of those mini varieties? I shall certainly consider it, thank you.

Yup. If I eat wheat I generally feel awful and rundown and it affects my skin. I also get bloated...

I try and avoid wheat wherever possible, but sometimes give in to the odd cookie here and there.

I generally eat rice and potatoes and oats for my main carbs.

Do you not just think your slightly allergic to wheat and glucose?

It's possible... I mean there's a whole heap of foodstuffs I'm better off avoiding because they affect my skin, the worst one of all is onion, but wheat is the only one that makes me feel horrible.

I did go to the docs for this, and he reckoned that my brains wired wrongly, and that I get a nervous system response instead of a salival one, and thats why a lot of foods cause me to flush... I have meds which have helped.

I never thought of it as a glucose sensitivity before tho... thanks for that!

First few days are the hardest, but when I was hungry and had reached my target, I'd eat a piece of fruit and have a drink of fruit tea. I always made sure that if I had to go over, they were good nutritious calories. Grapes were always a favourite.

Then I just started to go to bed early... exercise is tiring!lol

And  remember:
'Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well pre-served body, but rather to skid in sideways- Chardonnay in 1 hand - chocolate in  the other- body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming 'WOO  HOO, What a Ride'

I love that!

This post is sooo funny.... bring on the chocolate!

I had sleep paralysis once... I woke up, found I couldn't move, and heard voices. I can remember they said 'Shh she's not asleep' Naturally I assumed it was aliens as I was totally into XFiles at the time. Didn't occur to me for years that if it was, they aren't likely to speak english. Couldn't sleep without the light on after that, still can't when I'm alone, and that must have been 15years ago!

I can't stand the thought of even pencilling in any corrections that came with my OU books (I left the amendments page in the front of the book), let alone highlighting them! Although I may go so far as pencilling my name in the front... I'm gonna be keeping my physics books anyway.

I guess I'm lucky, for exercise I get to walk up and down a hill before lectures, and all of my lecs are on different floors so I take the stairs rather than the elevator.

My unis not far from the beach, so when I really feel like it I'll go for a stroll. I'll also park furthest away from the supermarket when I go.

Final year is definately far more fun than the previous ones... totally getting into my project.

Yoga dvd sounds like a fab idea... I'm going to have to get one!

Mine too! I have this special spot for it, which seems to be okay... the numbers are showing a loss, BUT if I so much as knock it just a fraction out of place, I'll have 'gained' 9lbs. I tried using my bfs scale, but that showed me as 10lbs heavier than mine, so I didn't get back on that one!lol

If anyone knows a good brand of reliable scale please tell me Laughing

disclaimer:in no way am I going to be using cannabis as part of my project! more likely radishes and lettuces... maybe some tomatoes.

I wish pumpkin was more readily available here in Wales... I grew up in Canada, and pumpkin sums up all my autumn happiness Smile

When I'm due on, I normally get dairy cravings, usually cheese, thats only been happening for the last year lol However, when I fell pregnant last August, all I wanted was butter... lashings of butter on everything for an entire week. I wasn't fussed on the taste, I just had to have it lol Soon stopped though as I miscarried. My waistline has since forgiven me lol I thought it was really weird as I never had cravings wth my first...

Congrats on your success!

How about roast pumpkin soup? Scrummylicious!Laughing

Fitness Red face after running! Oct 12 2009
18:04 (UTC)

Oh thank you thank you thank you! So glad I'm not the only one.

However, I found that alot of my redness complexion is due to what I eat... The worst being wheat and onions, to be avoided wherever possible! Theres like ten million other things I'm better off not eating, but wheres the fun in eating only fruit and veg?lol

I do take beta blockers, which have seriously helped, and helps with my anxiety too. Exercise and lots of water help considerably. I read somewhere that its your skin needing oxygen? I grew up in a smoking household (not me!) and just getting out and being able to breathe properly helps too.

But the best thing in my armory to feeling okay about it? A colorblind boyfriend! He can't see the everyday redness, so I feel more comfortable and accepting of my makeupless face. Laughing

I'm not sure I could eat 3 cabbages in one sitting... I don't do so good with them lol

However, for me personally, I know that if I eat wheat, the weight won't budge. As soon as I give it up though, it comes off slowly. I do eat oats for breakfast and some sort of potato with dinner, but I do concentrate on filling up with extra fruit and veggies. Really works to keep me full

Original Post by jblarghp:

When he came over to talk I asked him what was going on (what he was feeling, and what made him feel this way). All he kept giving me was "I don't know, I don't how I feel." So I told him, I'm your girlfriend, if you don't know how you feel about me we should break up, because I deserve better.

Then he starting saying maybe we're too different, and he needs time to think about things. He started getting emotional and talked about what a mess he was, how nothing is stable in his life, and how he has nothing good going for him.

Oh my gosh, this was me and my bf 2 months into being a couple. (We're both 31) He needed SPAAAAAAAAAACE to decide what he wanted, and how he felt. He got it! 1 month later we were back together, he decided he wanted me after we'd both dated other people.

We talked it through, and he told me that the year before he'd had had his heart completely crushed by someone he'd obviously loved very much and got very close to. He was over her, but not the hurt, and is extremely fearful it would happen again. I can understand this, and constantly reassured him that feeling scared like this was completely okay. He's afraid of 'life comittment' (what if it all goes wrong? gets asked alot by him) but he's really only emotionally defensive. He does this, well gets majorly grumpy and panicky if he thinks things are going too fast for him. Thats fine, we take it slow, as slow as he needs and thats okay. The emotionally closer we get, the further he wants to run, and if I let him go a bit, he comes back. If I try to hold on too tight, the further away he feels.

He got majorly stressed the day I got my flat nearer him, he positively had a text tantrum and was on the verge of breaking up with me, but he was just very very scared, but once he finally realised that this was a 'me thing' and not an 'us thing' he was okay with it.

What got us through that first month of indecision, was giving each other the space that we needed, we still dated once a week (but weren't an official couple), but I didn't stay over. We both concentrated on our own lives, and making our own selves happy. This brought so much to us. We'd relied to much on each other making us happy, that we forgot we needed to find happiness in ourselves before we could find happiness in us.

Understanding, plenty of space and time, concentrate on yourself and make yourself happy without him being around. If it's meant to be, then you'll find a way to make it work. If not, then you'll know that you can be happy on your own.
