First 10 ten days - eat nothing but (as much as you want) of cheese, butter, eggs, bacon, any kind of meat really, diet coke, no juices or bread or anything with sugar! is that a joke? heart attack! |

i lost 10 pounds in a week by eating just veges, a lot of this was probably water weight that i lost but still. it was really gruelling and i'd allow maybe one piece of fruit a day. i think this is quite dangerous in the long run but i figured it was only for a week. i cut even diet coke and coffee .. so just pure vegetables and water, no salt and no starchy vegetables. i fit into my dress, drank a lot and had a big meal the next day so the weight was back in no time, but i expected that. :) |

my mum has coeliac disease and she first went to the doctor when she thought she had ibs. so she had irritable bowel symptoms like the ones you described. also for some reason she lost a lot of weight pre-diagnosis, probably due to her body not absorbing the right things. she hasn't gained weight since being on a gluten free diet. she eats a lot of fruit, vegetables, gluten-free bread and cereals, rice and protein. i suggest you look up the things you can't eat because a lot of it is hidden - ie. soy sauce, beer, heaps of condiments/processed things. |

| Weight Loss | Simple question...why American are fat???? | Mar 19 2009 10:23 (UTC) |
27 |
i went to america last year (from nz) and i was 'good' for a few days.. there's a good range of low fat/diet foods there, actually.. heaps.. diet drinks, low cal frozen meals, cheeses, desserts, etc. (in nz it's basically just low fat milk and dairy). but after that i discovered all the junk food. seriously.. theres such a variety like a whole isle for candy and it's cheap as well. maybe the fact that junk is cheaper.. more satisfying (temporarily) than healthy food. i got addicted to reeces cups and twizzlers (we don't have that here!) but i was walking all day so didn't gain anything. i don't think there's a real reason.. as the first post states america isn't the fattest nation, but since it's masssssive it seems like more people are fat. also the fact that it's one of the most.. advanced/commercial nations which introduces a lot of products.. chain stores, etc. however it has just as much healthy food - farmers markets, organic grocers - and 'junk substitutes' as burger joints. |

today. breakfast - banana yoghurt and boysenberry smoothie lunch - scrambled eggs and hummus on 2 slices of toast then.. slice of bread with hummus and pesto, 5 pink sprinkle biscuits, 4 chocolate biscuits and an english muffin with butter adds up to 2500. but since then i've also had yoghurt and banana with brown sugar in a cup, 4 crackers with cheese and tomato and mushroom soup it's only 6pm i'm supposed to cook dinner for my family too! this is one of the worst days in a while.. probably a 5000er! |

| Weight Loss | What is your favourite part about weight loss? | Oct 22 2008 04:36 (UTC) |

- noticing clothes fit a LOT better or even too baggy - feeling light and quick when i walk instead of heavy and like people are watching me - feeling GOOD after exercising instead of puffed and unfit like in the beginning - skin clearing up and generally more healthy looking - opposite sex being interested haha - and definately mood. i feel so happy after/during a successful day, as opposed to the horrrible feeling that comes with over eating. this feeling motivates me to keep going |

some that have been said and some that haven't, pretty much perfect man qualities: uniforms - army & navy, toned smooth arms.. i love arms, tans, odd eyebrows, ACCCCCCCCCENTS especially american, assertiveness, nice man hands :D, lowriding preferably in tight pants, seriousness (not all the time), when a man is cutely honest and confused (bleaker in juno), passion for something (like one of my tutors who goes off into tangents about art history and i drool), dark squinty eyes.. no big blue ones thanks, bad-ness of course i'm not this picky when it comes to men haha |

I love the red and the blonde, too. Although I'm biased towards blonde (even though I'm naturally red). You suit both of them equally! |

i don't know anyone who finds it offensive, but people certainly recognise when others say it. it's usually just awkward. personally i think it's really immature and lame, even if you don't mean it as derogatory or anything. when i was 13 or so i realised how silly it sounded and made myself stop.. my 2 cents. |

| The Lounge | "Graffiti" An art or an eyesore? | Oct 18 2008 06:41 (UTC) |

i hate rude, pointless or gang graffiti. which is more just tagging and vadalism. i love graffiti art even though it's really hard to come across the good stuff. it's a shame that it's illegal but it would be pretty tricky to legalise and like no one would advocate vandalism haha. there is an allyway in the center of my town called left bank where you're pretty much allowed to do graffiti. every space is filled up and it never gets painted over. |

| Health & Support | I know why i binge. Now what? | Oct 13 2008 12:14 (UTC) |

this is totally not great advice but it worked for me. i binged from stress and boredom nothing very serious.. i also have an 'all or nothing attitude'. even when i came under my calorie limit on here i'd just say '**** it' and mentally choose to go and binge! so i made a book and wrote day 1.. day 2 etc on each page with the dates (so i couldnt skip my bad days) and forced myself to write down how much i ate each day (not just logging on here). for some reason, knowing that i had to write it down when i went to bed made me want to binge less and be proud of recording the number. when i want to i can look at my book and become motivated by my successes or vent on the page if i want to. |

| The Lounge | tell us about your "best friend" | Oct 13 2008 12:06 (UTC) |

i have 4 BEST friends, we are kind of like a group, all friends with eachother. i've known one since 2004, one 2005 and two i met in 2006. we all share the same interests, music tastes, love to drink and chat. we dont see eachother as our high school days now 2 are at collage, 2 working and one.. :P in between a course and a job. but when we see eachother it's exactly the same. i also have two more very close friends (one from about 1995 and one 2006) but we dont completely open up to eachother as much as we could, you know. as for acquaintances and friends of friends.. i'm verry shy and find it hard to get to know people in the beginning, so i'm greatful i have my closest friends. |

think how much better you felt when you were doing well than after you ate the bag of cookies. think about how there is no point doing that again and that now you realise you can enjoy the same thing in moderation and come under your calorie limit! also think about how it was a one off and youve done great for weeks and can start again tomorrow (or now). :) |

i reached 1130 today, here's what i had: breakfast: smoothie of banana, 100g frozen berries and 100g yoghurt (235) lunch: i had this again (235) dinner: salad of lettuce, spinach, mushroom, chickpeas (half can), avocado (1/4), red onion, pesto and sweet chilli sauce (365) snacks: half a cup of skim milk (45) and chocolate chip biscuits (250). the biscuits were a bit of a mistake, usually i would have some berries and yoghurt or a savoury snack. salads are great as you can use as much base of lettuce as you like, i usually pile my plate with baby greens, add heaps low-ish cal veges (tomato, cucumber, celery, baby corn etc), a 'main' (tuna, canned beans, tofu etc) and a small amount of dressing. |

i don't see how smoking is hypocritical to a view of anti-animal cruelty at all... unless you feed your butts to your cat. i think you are confusing vegetarianism/veganism with the whole green concept.. eating completely healthily, thinking green.. reducing carbon footprint etc.. you could say this about a green freak who smokes.. but not a vege/vegan |

| The Lounge | Can exes really be 'just friends'? | Sep 11 2008 09:14 (UTC) |

ive only ever had one bf and it lasted over a year then we broke up a couple of months ago. we decided to be friends but still fought and argued about nothing like couples do. so i decided to take a break from him and we didnt communicate for at least a month. we started chatting randomly about uni assignments and became friends again. we arent great friends but text heaps and see each other occaisonally and we both have no desire to go further. it is completely possible if you both want it and.. if one of you wants to be more then you need to take the time away and find yourself then come back. |
