Hey ladies...haven't really had time to catch up with all the posts...but seems like generally everyone is doing ok...so this is why I've been awol for the past few weeks...basically me and the BF of almost 3 years broke up 2 weeks ago...so things have been a lil rough for me :( getting better tho...just toughin it out. So ya...because of that...I have been sucking at my workouts..basically no motivation to go to the gym. sleeping too little and drinking and eating too much.

That's me in a nutshell. Haven't backslid too much. Weigh in this morning was actually in the 160's! (168.4)...but afraid it's just dehydration from too much drinkage :( Anyways...trying to just keep things on an even keel even if I'm not doing super. Love you ladies...and keep up the good work!

Ok...so I have been sucking at my workouts..basically no motivation to go to the gym. sleeping too little and drinking and eating too much. as much as I like the drop I see today...I'm afraid it'll bounce right back up since this is the 3rd week in a row (granted not on a monday tho!) that I've seen the 160's and they haven't stuck :(

BF of almost 3 years and I broke up 2 weeks ago...so things have been a lil rough for me :( getting better tho...just toughin it out.

I love "Jump into July" by the way...and as much as I hate monday weigh ins...they help me watch myself a bit over the weekend...but I'm fine going back to fridays too...whatever works for everyone. I love this group too...helps me be accountable to more than just myself! congrats to everyone who's staying on track...and to those who are struggling...I'm in the same boat!

ughh...again...a lot of the week I saw weight in the 160's...and then sabotaged over the weekend. been going through a lot of blah emotional stuff...so have been self medicating with food and alcohol...ughh...and have had no motivation to hit the gym. made it only 1x last week (did a 2hr hike another day)...goal this week is to just watch what I eat when eating out and try and get back into the swing of hitting the gym!

good job for everyone that's losing...you deserve every bit of it!
for those who are like me...no giving up...we can do it!

I'm kinda bummed cause 2x last week I saw numbers in the 160's! 169.4 on weds, and then 168.4 on thurs...but I had a REALLY rough weekend. A lot of stuff going on in my personal life, and my solution was to go out and party it up...so not too surprising :( Hopefully I'll keep up the workouts (actually got 4 cardio workouts in last week!) this week and I'll show some progress this week. Good job to everyone...seeing some great losses!

Ughh...feels like I'm swiming against the current! I only made it to the gym 1x last week (monday)...although I did go walking another 2x at lunch, and walked for an hour with a friend on thursday...so I did get SOME exercise, but not nearly the amount my body is used to! I have had a really hard time with self control too...drank up a storm on st. patty's day, and then had a friend in from LA this weekend, so went out friday night to San Fran, playing competitive beer pong and then munching out at mel's at like 3am. sat night was another night of drinkage, then sunday afternoon after work went out for beer/appetizers with coworkers! was going to walk during lunch today...but forgot I made plans to have lunch with an old coworker! ahhhh. too much eating out...and too much drinking!

lilygirl - thanks for the support...it's so frustrating losing so slowly...feels like I've been struggling with the same few pounds forever! I know we can do it though :)

momof2 - good for you for doing all the walking and getting in the calorie deficits!

jacqueline - I wish I had the amount of self control you do! I too have it a little easier than most b/c I just moved home with my mom, and she eats super healthy (and is vegetarian) so it's hard to pig out on stuff that is bad for you there! I run into problems because of going out a lot and both eating out and going to bars/parties with friends...sigh...I shall strive to be more disciplined :)

wish I had more time to address everyone individually...but running a little short on time. going to use you all as motivation to kick up the workouts this week and watch that intake :) Congrats to everyone who had a loss this week...no matter how small :)

Week 3: 172.0 (-1.2)

Week 4: 175.2 (+3.2)

Week 5: ?

Week 6: ? don't know b/c wasn't at home...using yesterday's 174.4lb (-.8 from 2 weeks ago!)

Week 7: 171.0 (-3.4 from weight entered last week)

Week 8: 171.8 (ughh! There goes my downward trend!)

End of Challenge: 172? (don't exactly know...) I was 165 on the bf's scale this morning...but it's waaay to nice (not exactly sure by how much tho...), so I'll add 5lb and call it 170.

So...I pretty much decided that the weight I weighed in with was a fluke...and to go with my first weeks weigh in...which means I've lost about 7lb this challenge! oh...and if I don't cheat (which I kinda am doing right?) I've still lost .8 which is better than gaining!

Joining the monday weigh in crowd...but stewmama...would love to check in with you on friday's still!

good luck everyone!

Ok...so I haven't been doing sooo great. I have gone out to eat a bunch, and haven't exactly exercised restraint on the drinking front...so really not surprised that I haven't been losing very much. I was so excited 2 weeks ago after 1 week into my "rededication" I saw that 2lb loss...but think I've kinda lost my motivation a little since then. I have to keep telling myself to be patient...that I didn't get to where I am right now overnight...so these last 15-20lb aren't just going to melt off overnight! still agravating though!

I have read through everyone's posts...unfortunately don't have time to respond to people...but you guys are doing great! Also agree w/mom of 2 (and I know others have said it too) that people who have lost big should share how they did it :) motivate the rest of us!

Here's to more losses next week!

ughh...like zeema I have been lurking when I log in, but haven't really had time to write anything :(

I'm not in a "RUT" per se, but I'm just irritated that my weight won't go away when I want it too. I know I'm impatient, and that one week of being good doesn't allow me to fall off the bandwagon, but I HATE being that person that's always like, no thanks, I can't, I'm watching what I eat...because I LOVE FOOD! arghhh...and booze. lol

anyways...gotta run...have a good weekend everyone...I'll try and chip in more next week! much love!

Hey ladies…happy Friday!

Not so happy with myself though…I’ve been slipping this week and gained almost a pound  :( booo.

Coming to LA this weekend…but my schedule is totally packed…otherwise I would so crash your Saturday walk cali girls! :)

Sarah – I don’t watch those shows…but I agree…I would watch if you were on it :) have fun and good luck!

Soraya – Hope everything goes ok at the Doc’s – feel better!

Zeema – hope you had a good date :)

Jla – yay!!! Good for you on dropping those lb’s hopefully we can both break into new digits next week! (I was 171.8 this morn…so we have the same to lose to get there! Woot woot!) also---last day of work today for you right? Good luck!!!

Karey – I meant to tell you I liked the second dress…the one with the flowers…so cute!

Karen – Congrats on eating well this week…I wish I could say the same!

Carlyn – I see she’s still missing…anyone know anything?

Ok ladies…don’t have time for much more (and work sent out a “friendly” reminder that we shouldn’t be doing personal things on our computers during work hours…yikes)…hope everyone else is doing fabulously…and I’ll see you all bright eyed and bushy tailed on Monday!

Ok…so didn’t do soooo great this week…but it’s ok…not giving up. My CC trend says despite my blips (was up to 173.6 yesterday!) that my trend is still going down. I’ve been mixing up my cardio a bit since my knee has been tweaky for some odd reason…added in some bike and elliptical when I normally just stick to running and stairs…so think it’s kicking my body back into gear (yay). Honestly…I just haven’t ate that well this week…out to Claim Jumper (horrendous food!) on Monday night (although I did make my stew bowl into 3 meals)…then bowling and beer the same night! Lol. munched out tues night at the bf’s grrr…and then drank some port and wine last night…sigh…no self control! LA this weekend…will try not to let it get tooooo horrendous!

Ladye – I think I’m just gonna stick with tammy’s challenge and do weigh ins on Monday now…sigh. Have no time to keep up with all the groups.

Tammy – don’t give up…everyone has their slumps…the key is just not to let MORE weight come back on :) it sucks you haven’t been able to get out and walk! Good luck to your daughter! :)

Figure the fat – you can do it! :)

Tink – congrats on the loss girl! Hey…a loss is a loss right? Just means you’ll do even better next week!

Have a great weekend ladies!

Good afternoon ladies :)
In a chipper mood this morning...the loss I saw last week stayed off over the weekend (especially good since I had a couple nights of drinkage in there)...yay! And it's good motivation to keep on truckin! Seems like I've finally broken the plateau of the last 6 odd months...just gotta stick with it!

gddrdld - yay for getting sore from workouts! I love that feeling...means I worked my body hard enough! also getting back in my gym groove...nice to feel normal again!

jla - Don't stress too much about not keeping up with your mom and sister...my mom recently lost a bunch of weight using nutrisystems...and went from 145lb to about 114...and a size 2! I know I never in my life will be a size two...but I fit into a lot of her old clothes! lol. I'm competitive too...and most of my friends are thinner than me...and most of the ones that aren't...aren't really concerned with their weight...lol...see my rant on my girlfriend who is losing weight right now! Just keep with it...I was on a plateau for a looong time, and have JUST broken it. Maybe try mixing up your diet/exercise routine?

soraya - such an interesting idea about fat memory...I'd like to believe that we can change it and break our cycle though! This time I've taken off the weight really slowly...and over a long period of time...so hopefully my body will adjust...not to mention...hopefully I've changed enough old habits/developed enough good new habits to keep it off! so proud of you for staying off the sauce this weekend! I def. didn't ...but didn't go TOO crazy...lol. all about balance :)

karen - I'm so bad about drinking my protein shakes on a regular basis...but like karey I think they keep me from getting as sore after workouts, I believe that the protein helps your muscles repair/rebuild faster after working them hard (meaning to the point where you are pretty sore)...or even just in general helps you maintain muscle and not lose it! Also, like you I don't think I get enough protein on a daily basis...so it helps me supplement my daily intake. Sigh...wish I could afford a trainer to kick me into shape. Always good to have someone to be responsible to :)

karey - glad to see you found a dress :) actually had a look at your pics...you look so great! kinda inspirational for me to see someone who has made it to their goal...and is still sticking with it :) when are you headed off on your cruise? so jealous p.s. of you being able to be on the beach in december! ahhh...can't wait for summer to come back!

girlfighting - I like a little of both to be honest...I think you have to do both weights and cardio to get an all around good toning and slimming down. I would probably pair lifting with pilates...it's almost a type of cardio :) but then again it's also strengthening...so you could do either! I know..I know, I'm not much help...lol. hope you had a good weekend!

Well that's all for me. Going over to a girlfriend's tomorrow...she's lost a bunch of weight and has a whole lot of clothes that she wants to get rid of...which means I might get new clothes...YAY! But get this...I'm a size 12 now...at 171lb (they are starting to get a little lose...which is sooo exciting)...and she was about 186lb when she told me that she is a size 9/10?!? how is it that she was 15lb heavier than me...but wearing a size smaller? She has a relatively similar build to me...but carries alot of it around her middle...whereas mine tends to fall on my thighs and butt...lol...maybe that's why? Anyways...so not fair! lol. Guess I'll find out if it's just the clothes she buys when I try them on! hehe...damn competitive spirit!

Alright...done ranting. Have a couple dinners to go to this week, and then headed to LA this weekend...so hopefully I can keep up the good behavior...lol. Have a great day everyone!

Starting Weight (for this challenge): 173.2lb

Preliminary goal for the group: 165lb

2/16-not in challenge yet

2/23-starting challenge at 173.2lb

3/2 - 171.0 (-2.2)

Woo hooo! I'm so stoked I'm breaking out of my plateau (haven't been consistently under 174 in like 6 months I think. Such positive reinforcement for my rededication of last week! Got in my goal 4 cardio days and 2 weight days last week...and managed to get in 2 ab workouts too! Started off the week strong with a good workout this morning...but have some dinners this week, and headed to LA this weekend...so hopefully I can keep up the trend!

angie - welcome...and good luck :)

mamamia - good for you on losing this week :)

tink - maybe salty stuff is slowing you down? I had to really try to cut back on sodium...and only add salt to a couple things. It's crazy cause even when I watch my sodium I go over the daily reccomended amount! Hopefully you'll see the loss next week back into the 140's!

tazzie - welcome welcome :)

fred - woohoo on 3lb down! wish I could do that every week! lol

c-weed - looks like you're off to a good start :) welcome to the group! weddings are such good motivation for getting our butts in gear!

figurethefat - good for you for 2lb down...even if it is just 1lb over the last 2 weeks...slow and steady loss is the best and most permanent kind anyways! when I averaged out my loss over the last 17 months (36lb)...it only comes out to 2.1lb per month...but it adds up :)

wants2bhot - congrats on losing after a weekend away! vacations/mini holidays are always hard for me...LA this weekend for me...yikes! we are right on track though...I'm hoping for another 1-2lb loss for next week to kick me into the 160's! woohooo!

eknutsen - congrats on 3lb down! also...fantastic that you know what your secret is! I'm sure if I cut out sugar completely I would probably see a difference too...unfortunately...I don't have THAT much control right now...hard enough to just keep on top of staying within my calorie range! lol

tammy - wow...you gain a lot for ttom...so that's probably it. any change yet?

Have a great week everyone!

Woo hoo! finally getting back to starting point! Actually saw 170.2 yesterday...but that's ok...lol. So almost to my "adjusted" goal of hitting 170 :) If I can make it to 165 I will be SO STOKED...but even getting into the 160's will do me just fine thank you. It's such a relief to finally see the scale going down a little and breaking that plateau! My overall trend is down to 172 as well...which it hasn't been for months...so I know it's a slow and steady progress thing this time, not just a fluke! lol.

Tink! yay for the loss! so proud that you're in the 140's! We have similar stats...I'm 25 and 5'7"...and my ultimate goal is 155...do you have a slender build? I can't even think what I would look like in the 140's! lol. stick to it this weekend :) we are celebrating my besties b-day on  monday...so need to be good this weekend too!

figure the fat - at least you broke the last 2 weeks plateau! keep it up :)

aaron - congrats on being down another 2lb this week! solidly under 200 now :)

hi ladies! hope everyone's doing well!

tink - ya...monday weigh ins help me keep myself in check over the weekend...that's for sure. but having to be accountable both monday AND friday...lol...that's actually kinda a good thing. The monday weigh in helped me this week too...I don't remember what I looked like in the 150's in high school either...but 150 was my smallest ever, and I'm only wearing one size bigger now...so who knows?!? my body has definately changed from high school...I felt bigger too even though my heaviest ever in HS was 186...hmmm. I'm aiming for June too! we can help keep each other on track...especially with the drinking! haha...

bananapancake - never too late to jump back on the wagon....I had to rededicate myself to working out this week too! I've been seriously slacking...and then I wonder why there's been no change on the scale...hmmm

stewmama - I'm sad you're stopping your challenges, even though I'm in tammy's new challenge group...this is three sets we've been through! are you going to join the other group? also...what is the other group you are running doing? just curious...not a momma...so probably doesn't apply to me...but figured i'd ask :)

holding my breath for friday's weigh in...lowest numbers I've seen in over a month...so don't want to jinx myself! see you ladies in the morning!

Good morning ladies (well it was morning when I started writing this!)! I have been having a fantastic week so far scale-wise and eating pretty well...only made it to the gym 2x for cardio and 1x for weights but going again at lunch for weights and have 2 more cardio sessions planned (tomorrow morning and sat) so I should still be on track. I've dropped like 2lb this week...so holding my breath to see if I can break into the 160's by next week...ahhhh!

anyways...
karey - it's a whey protein. I like the strawberry one...chocolate is fine too...nothing SPECTACULAR...your caramel toffee fudge one sounds yum! how is it price wise? yay on doing both your weight workout AND cardio!

girlfighting - Isoflex only has .5g carb :) I found the best price on bodybuilding.com. They don't tast FANTASTICALLY DELICIOUS...lol...but they are pretty good. I like strawberry.

jla - I would like to be to my goal by june...july at the very latest as I'm taking off travelling, and don't want to deal with changing sizes while I'm travelling, not to mention, I want to have a little practice at maintaining before I end up with no gym as well! been controling myself well so far this week :) about to break into the 160's which is SUPER exciting...cause I haven't seen those numbers in like 5 years!...and even then it was just a blip...haven't been in 150's/60's since high school...about 9 years ago...think I was about 16 when I weighed that! good for you for getting to stay home with the kiddies. you can totally hit your goal by summer! :)

soraya - I can't believe that crazy girl!!! so funny how people feel the need to push off their insecurities onto others! fun that you got to meet celebs! I would like to meet a few...no one in particular...and like you I'm not a big star struck person...but it would be fun. What do you do that you get to meet them so often? so I haven't had anything to drink since bowling monday...yay me...trying to limit drinking to wknds...and then moderate...lol. As far as motivation...just remember how good it feels after you've done a good workout!

karen - welcome to the back on the wagon group :) glad your life is back to semi-normal :)

oh...my friend isn't joining CC :( she took a look and decided it wasn't for her...but thanks for your welcome everyone!

off to the gym in a bit...arm workout today...woo! also workin at the restaurant after work today...so a lil extra running around to add to my day! lol. talk to everyone soon!

nyghtskychaser - holy crapola! 5lb in one week? I would seriously be jumping up and down for joy right now...did you do anything in particular that was different? share! hehe :)

tink - yay! you lost :) losing is always better than gaining! how have you been doing on the drinking front btw?

tammy - wow...I didn't realize that those 9lb had stuck to you...so strange?!? have you seen any change this week? anything that might have caused such a big gain?

jes - girl you have made HUGE progress in just 6 months! it's taken me about 1 1/2 years to lose 35lb! do you have any hints that would help me along? I've been sort of on a plateau since last summer and I'm JUST starting to break out of it...and can use all the help I can get!

It's funny Tammy because even though you are stuck (and I know you and I have been stuck for a while)...wants2bhot reminds me of something I say when playing blackjack at the casinos...which is "a push is a win" lol...basically if you break even, you're still winning...not losing :)

Haha...Karey, that is funny that we were posting at the same time! I'm in the same boat as you with the weight lifting by the way...been focusing too much on cardio I think...and I forget that lifting helps just as much...and long term, weight lifting actually burns more than straight cardio! I would imagine you would want to add a few calories if you are working out more, otherwise you'll end up with a deficit...up to you though...I agree with tina on the protein though...it helps retain the muscle, helps it heal quicker after workouts, and also keeps you full! I tend to have my protein shakes AFTER my workouts though as protein is metabolized the slowest, and it tends to make me lag a bit during workouts (but that's because I'm doing cardio too). I like ISOFLEX...only 111 cals per serving, and 27g of protein. My mom found a decent tasting shake too at costco...160 cals with 30g protein.

tina - I would be so exhausted if I'd had to deal with what you did this weekend! try to get some sleep and tackle tomorrow when it gets here :) and thanks for cheerin me on :)

mandy - good time to get back on track...seems like there are a few of us in that boat! even though being unemployed SUCKS...at least the silver lining can be that you have time to get back into working out :)

Good afternoon ladies! Tammy...I tagged the group last week, but thouht I'd wait til weigh in day to introduce myself :)

A lil about me:
I'm 24, 5ft 7, medium build. I was at my heaviest in college...topping off at around 227lb dropped to about 170 by July of 2005...then it's slowly crept back on...so...started getting back into exercise etc last September when I hit 207 again...joined CC when I was around 195lb in feb of last year. Since then I've slowly shaved off another 20lb...feels like tortoise speed sometimes! but I've kept it off. I am to what I know/have heard is the hardest part of the journey...the last 15-20lb! Today is day one of rededicating myself to that final loss/keeping up the gym habit and keeping my eating on track!

In my last few challenge groups...I've made the mistake of aiming just a little too high...and only making it halfway (or less than that!) to my goal...so I'm going to set an initial goal for the beginning of may...which is 2+ months away...and then re-evaluate in a month to see how I'm doing.

Starting Weight (for this challenge): 173.2lb

Preliminary goal for the group: 165lb

2/16-not in challenge yet

2/23-starting challenge at 173.2lb

3/2

3/9

3/16

3/23

3/30

4/6

4/13

4/20

4/27

5/1:  Final Weigh In!!!

Hope everyone has a great week!

Good morning ladies! I'm so excited today...especially after seeing some of your posts! It seems like dedication/rededication is in the air!

gina - I love your mantra! I wish I could come up with something original...but until I can...I like these two:
1.  Nothing tastes as good as looking good feels! (it really is true...I just need to remind myself more often!)
2.  You CAN do it!
Kind of cheesy I suppose...but who cares right? whatever works for us!

girlfighting - today is day 1 of my rededication/getting back on track too!!! I am determined to drop my last 20lb! (well...18 as of this morning...but still!)

we can do it!!!

I went to the gym this morning...and wow...it's crazy that just 2 weeks of not working out on a regular basis...and I was so wiped out!!! got in a good 3.75 miles on the TM...and some abs too...first challenge is bowling with beer tonight!

carlyn - don't be too hard on yourself...I wish I could say I only missed one day a year! what I understand is that we should take a break/easy week for our bodies every 6 weeks so we can recover :)

Have a great day ladies!

oh...I almost forgot to add...would anyone mind terribly if I send the link for this group to my friend Amanda? She is going to be new to CC soon...and she is absolutely adorable and I think she'd fit right in here! I want her to have some awesome support so she'll continue to be motivated like me in those last few lb! (she's lost about 100lb already!)...thanks :)

happy friday ladies!

just a quick note...but I'm rededicating myself...as of Monday...to kicking the bootaaay out of these last 20lb I need to lose! This means stepping up the workouts, no excuses...and watching that intake!!!

Soraya - girl...I did you proud last night...easily downed a whole bottle of delicious vino to myself...lol!

karey - I feel you on being drained, and not motivated to workout...but look at all the progress you have made so far!!! that's awesome...if you've made it this far...then you should be able to make it just a biiiit further :)

gina - way to go on getting back to the gym! I'm sure I'll feel just as blah and out of shape when I hit the gym on monday! yikes!

jla - you look freaking fantastic in your dress! don't even stress girl! hopefully I look that good before I have to don a bridesmaid's dress!

Have a good weekend ladies :)

SW: 170.8

Week 1: 177.4

Week 2: 173.2 (-4.2)

Week 3: 172.0 (-1.2)

Week 4: 175.2 (+3.2)

Week 5: ?

Week 6: ? don't know b/c wasn't at home...using yesterday's 174.4lb (-.8 from 2 weeks ago!)

ok...so as of Monday...I'm recommiting myself to the process...and i'm stepping up the gym workouts and keeping a closer track of my food. This doesn't mean I'm going to go crazy this weekend or anything, it'll just be my starting marker...

Tink...I blame the media too! lol. I hate weigh ins...but I'm determined to see that number go down...so I guess I'm kinda effed on that one too! I'm joining momof2's challenge too! mondays are my own personal weigh in days...good start for stepping it up!

lady E - you freakin rock! congrats on making your goal!

I've decided that my starting weight was a freak chance, and that my 177.4 week one weigh in is to count as my first weigh in. I'm re-evaluating my loss by St. Patty's...and just want to hit 170lb...that will be another 4.4lb in one month...which is doable if I stay on track!!!

aaron - I have to agree with you about being healthier too! when I started 30lb heavier a year and a half back...I could barely run 2 mins straight, or do more than 15 mins on the stairs, now I can run for 15 mins straight at 6 mph, and do 45 minutes on the stairs! major difference!

stewmama - I have to say that one form of measuring ourselves that I absolutely DETEST is BMI! it makes absolutely NO allowance for muscle mass! I would have to be 155 just to be on the very edge of normal for my height...and that's my ULTIMATE goal! I looked at my bf's...and he's 6ft, around 200lb, and he looks good the way he is...it says he needs to be 177 to be healthy! bleh...I would NOT want him to be 25lb lighter! I think body fat, measurements, and the way our clothes fit are our best "scales." good for you for looking at all the little cheats...that's what I'm having to do now too...that those 1-2 bad days that really aren't THAT bad in my mind...are probably xxxxing out ALL of my good days combined! yaaaarghhhh

Anyways...love the challenge for this week! my mom is a vegetarian, and I tend not to eat that much meat myself...and hardly ever cook it! good source of soy protein is boca burgers (100calories/18g protein and like 1-2g fat for those you buy at costco)...and I think they're good just plain as they are :) yum. Also...light yogurt smoothies, 130 cals w/10g protein and no fat :)

Have a good weekend everyone!

hey ladies! It's crazy that in just a week I feel like I'm months behind on the posts here. Took me over 1/2 hour just to read through them all. I'm sicky and don't have much energy still...so I might not get to respond to everyone as much as I normally would. Went to New Orleans for 5 days with the BF for our holiday/vday trip together...we don't get each other stuff really, just take trips together, feels like the memories last longer...and like I've seen others here post...less pressure and less caving into the commercialism!

k9 - I have a desk job during the week...and I work at a restaurant as a server on the weekends. I usually make it to the gym 4x a week for cardio (used to get in 2 weight workouts a week too but my life has been a little crazy busy)...even on slacking weeks I tend to get in 3 cardio workouts (30-45 mins of pretty vigorous cardio...treadmill/stairs usually). I try to take the stairs a couple times a day going up to the office, we are on the third floor. have decided to just concentrate on eating healthy and stopping eating when I'm full and see how that works out. I've been sick, so not going to push myself on the cardio this week! Thanks again for the input...everything makes me think things over again for myself :) much appreciated!

girlfighting - ya...I realized when I said 16 glasses/2 litres, I totally messed up my math...lol. I usually get in 10 8oz glasses a day, which is 2.5 litres, so I want to up it to 16 8oz glasses, which would be about 4litres a day. I think the way I've looked at how much you should drink is divide your weight by 2, and that's how many ounces I should drink...which means if I weight 170, I should be drinking 85 ozs or 10.6 8oz glasses...so your method definately makes me drink more h2o! that's a good thing :) I think I am like you...and need more water!

cyntirita - congrats on the 10k!!! i'm planning on doing a 5k with a girlfriend in a month or so...can't even imagine doing a 10k...or 20k!!!! good luck! you can do it!

tynersgirl - hope you're doing ok...any news from the doc about the headaches/diziness?

gina - I wish I was in ITALY with you ladies sipping on lemoncello and nibbling on delicious food...ahhh...that sounds so amazing right now! went with a group of ppl to see he's just not that into you...and you'll never believe this...but my bf actually cried a couple of little tears at one point...believe it was when ben affleck's character proposed to jennifer aniston's character...so cute...but he was like shhh...didn't want the other ppl we were with to know he was a sap...awww. nip/tuck...watched it a bit at the beginning, but it's been daaaays since I've watched it, would probably have to start at the beginning to get up to speed...love weeds though!!! was so amused when I found out my mom was watching the seasons too...lol

jla - good for you and the hubby for taking things into your own hands...and good luck with getting the businesses up and going...that's awesome that you both have the initiative to do that! oh...also...yay for getting so close to your v-day goal! :)

soraya - burn dvd exchange circle? so confused about that...please explain :) as to the old girlfriend...I'm glad you made the move to contact her...it's always better to be the bigger person and put the ball in someone elses court to respond or not...and she did respond :) I'm sure she appreciates you more than you know right now.

helena- glad to see you're doing better...I have had absolutely horrific days when no matter what anyone else says or does...I just feel like a big blob....I know we're very different...but I just wanted to say that I have at least felt part of what you went through :( none of us can be happy and chipper all the time...and it's ok to have our blah days! I'm glad that you get support from this group...just like I do :) this group had cheered me up/fortified me/made me laugh/empathize with others so many times in the short time I've been a part of it :)

karen - fun times...even if you're working on lighting...at least you get to be around parties like the oscar's after party! how did it go by the way?

carlyn - so cute that you get creative for the hubby...and roses...as cliche as they are....always make me a mushball inside! hehe. thanks for the casttv.com tip...gonna have to try that :)

tina - welcome to the group :)

alright ladies...I'm exhausted now...need to go rest up a bit. I'll talk to you all soon. hope everyone's having a good week!

Tink...I feel you on the frustration! If I look at my SW for this chalenge...I'm still UP from when we started! I'm thinking that maybe my week one weight is better to go off of? Had a fantastic time in New Orleans with the BF for v-day weekend...mardi gras was crazy. Honestly...don't know how anyone down there stays skinny...the food is so freaking heavy!!! Anyways, I got sick from all the random weather changes...so have been home from work both yesterday and today. blah...hate being sick.

momof2 - what challenge did you start? did you weight balance out after that crazy jump?

see you all friday!

So I just have to say again...that I absolutely adore all the ladies in this group. I actually get way more support here than in my "weight loss" group...I think there have been a total of 5 posts in the last week in that group. This is just so much more active of a group...it's great.

karey - I just set my calorie counter to a 1300 goal per day, but I usually end up with about 1500 a day...any less and I just tend to feel deprived...though it comes and it goes, which is fine since zig zagging I feel works better on your body than the EXACT same amount of calories every day. Those slip up days that I was talking about...those were TOTALS for the day, not 2000 over what I was supposed to eat. When I started working out again last sept...the goal was to tackle setting a good workout routine, then the food. My food intake is actually ok right now. I don't keep track on cc...but I normally jot down on a sticky pad near me at work the cals I plan out for the day...which has been working fine. sodium may be the problem, but I have cut out adding salt to anything except popcorn and boiled eggs (which I don't eat very often)...and don't eat foods that are super high in sodium...but I'll keep an eye on it. I also don't eat the exact same thing every day...but I'll try to mix it up a little. I tend not to eat foods that are high in fat, and pretty sure I get enough protein in every day. I'm going to start looking even closer at what I eat every day, and focus on also staying within my cals every day...thanks so much for the feedback :)

gina - you are running around like superwoman now...not everyone can be perfect with that kind of schedule...you're doing great!

soraya - not a big fatty food person...which is why the % pissed me off so badly...but I'm just going to get another test from someone else as I truly don't think she did it right. but carbs...I just can't give up carbs...it's not even like I pig out on them or anything...but I just can't even fathom trying to keep track of them...to me it just seems like a crazy task...I mean, I have a friend who was on one of those no carb diets...and she wouldn't eat grapes because each one has one carb in it! granted this is somewhat a extreme example...but I will keep an eye on my carb intake. I also have a doctor's apt. next week after I get back from New Orleans...so maybe I'll ask her if there is something I can do...or someone she can refer me to about it. Like you, I don't think I can really shell out the extra money for specialized opinions or expensive tests. if I were SERIOUSLY overweight I probably would, but I feel ok the way I am, and really just want to drop the last 20 for me. oh, and I fell off my non-drinking wagon in the wee hours of saturday. Not badly...few shots of vodka with diet rockstar...but I had 2 22oz blue moons yesterday...gulp...a 12oz bottle has 170 cals in it...don't want to think about it...besides...it was sooooo tasty, totally worth it.

girlfighting - I actually do need to take my measurements again. I have this fabulous little thing called a myotape that I bought online for like 3 dollars...it's specifically set up for measuring your body. I have been good about water, usually about 10glasses a day at least (not counting non water sources)...but thinking about it, I may have been slacking in that department, so I'm going to set a 2 litre a day goal (16 glasses)...see if that makes a difference. I could do the bike or elliptical at the gym...but I just feel like they don't give me AS good of a workout...lol. which is not really true and I know it. I'll mix it up more. Maybe try to make it to spin class once a week...I remember that kicked my butt the few times I took it!

jla - thanks for the 2 cents :) I fell off the non-drinking wagon this weekend...but I was just feeling too deprived cutting it out entirely...so think I just need to incorporate it into my daily routine (just stick to a few drinks on weekends etc) instead of extremes. not giving up yet :) mmmm tuna melt...lol. if you make it at home on whole wheat bread, with a lower fat cheese and lighter butter or something...you could probably make a melt that's far better for you than the one you ate...at least you split it into two meals though! I had this delicious monster burrito on saturday for breakfast with chips/salsa/bean dip...but I only ate half...and a 100 cal bar for a snack, then the rest of the burrito for dinner...I so split most of my meals out into two meals now! I know I used to eat those things all in one go...and I truly have no idea how my stomach managed to fit all that in it!

carlyn/normal/karen and all you other ladies...hope you had a fabulous weekend :)

p.s. I was going to post a standard days food for people to critique...but this message has already turned into a mini novela...lol...so it'll be my journal entry for this week :)
