I usually put in the blender powder milk, very cold water and cereals, then I drink that (do not have too much time for a solid breakfast), you may add fruits also, if you need to energy for your cardio (half an apple maybe).
I have to say, that a week ago, I had to attend to the gym after lunch (an hour and a half later), and I noticed that I could lift heavier that in the morning, do not know why, but have that in mind maybe you will experience something similar. regards.

Hi, As you said "Normally I can eat whatever and I don't gain any weight" maybe you are Ectomorph type, you just burn too much too fast to gain weight. So, you need to eat more, and better 6 times a day, try to add protein to add muscle, and weight lifting as said above is a must! Cardio, well maybe only three times per week 45 minutes each, more of that will burn your food, and you will not be able to gain mass (muscle mass) In my personal experience, to gain muscle I had to quit my spinning classes, and stick to 3 times a week with weight lifting. You may be interest in reading this If you are going to a gym try to start a weight lifting program instead of running until you see some muscle added, and some weight gained, try to gain weight slowly in order to gain only muscle and little fat, maybe 0.5 lbs a week could be ok. For that you may need to calculate your resting calorie needs (with CC) and add 250 to 300 to that number, take care to count all the job you do in a normal day, if you walk to work, or do any activity add in activities in CC (select sedentary before, in your profile). Once you have determined your calorie needs add those 250 or 300 cals and you will be gaining 0.5 lbs per week more or less, if you are in a weight lifting program and eating enough protein, 1.5 grams per kilo, or 0.75 per lbs that extra weight should be muscle. Try to pick a full body routing and give your body enough resting time, train only three non consecutive days. you will get lean and fit, once you are at your desire weight consume only the cals needed to maintain your weight and keep training, you may add some cardio (good for health) but be sure to count those calories and add them to your diet, otherwise you will loose weight.

Hi, Sorry you are feeling this way in such a great moment for you, As a man, with two kids, I think I have acted just like your boyfriend, men are usually like that, practical, and we think we are doing just right. This is how he should be thinking "She should be happy I am telling her I trust her and any doctor she choose will be OK for me" also the same for the name, it does not mean he does not care, but he really trust you (at least that was my situation with my wife). She choose the doctor, and it was fine for me, as for the name I choose both (my girl's and my boy's), I did not go with her to doctors visits, except for the visit where the doctor was going to let us know if the baby was boy or girl, and when she went to the doctor because she was sick (the first three months), because she could hardly walk, because she could eat, or even dring water, so she really needs me. That is how we usually think, "She needs me I am there" but "If she can do it alone, well she will do it just fine" understand? we are practical. :) My wife also let me know that I was not interested in the baby, nor in her, because I did not go with her to Doctor's visits, but that is not the case, you know your bf, better than us, try to talk to him and let him know that is not his opinion or help what you need but his company and support, I am sure he will there for you. |

Hi, Thanks, According to my doctor (different from the one who made me the surgery) my knee is recovered, what I need to gradually increse excersice until the muscle around are strong enough to support the stress. I have started now with starting strenght to try it, I will give it two or three weeks to see how it works on me. I think could be OK because I can hardly recover from the my actual routine, I work on monday chest and biceps, and on wednesday I still have soreness, and I have read that you really need to recover in order to grow. Sometimes, when I want work back (on fridays) I still feel my biceps (worked-out on mondays) to tired to support the work, so maybe I am working to hard and not allowing recovery, and it seems that starting strenght is going to help on that. Of course I am working the squats with very few load, just 10 kilos on each side of the barbell (22 lbs). |

I had an injury in my knee so, I am recovering my legs (recovering strong and the doctor said) to start working hard my legs, I do squats (no weight at all) all days, and three days a week the chair (cuadriceps), and leg curls, all of them with few weight, that mean to recover the strong of my knee after a period of 10 years without doing excercise I had a surgery 10 years ago more or less. I was doing spinning since february to loose body fat, but since october I stop it to gain weight, the I will start again. Thanks for all your replies. |

Hi, I wanted to loose weight also, actually to loose inches, and fat, I took spinning clasess 5 times a week, and took me at least 1,5 months to get used to the classes (7 years of innactivity), and be able to follow a whole class working as hard as it has to be. Then in just two months I have lost 5 kilos, 10 lbs more or less, now I have to eat a lot to keep my weiht, and I have discovered I am ectomorph, so, just keep going, you will see result in time, maybe 3 months, maybe 6, but you will see it if you keep working. I am sure that even if your pictures looks the same, you feel better, have more energy, your digestion should be working better, etc. etc.

| Weight Loss | Does anyone know? Inches to pounds? | Sep 28 2008 01:42 (UTC) |

Depends on your body fat, if you have a lot, well doing cardio, you will loose it, and you will loose those inches. Do not worry about your weight, 'cause as far as I can see you want to fit in that dress for the new year's party. lean muscle weights more than fat, so as for_sev said, you may loose those inches and even gain weight. you may go to a gym and look for the instructor and tell him what you want to do, so watching you, he may help you. As we can not see you it is difficult to help. regards, Guillermo. |

| Foods | BEST energy foods? | Sep 26 2008 14:09 (UTC) |

I have read that natural honey is also a good source of energy, I have tried before my spinning class, and works great. It has a low GI, so it is good as a pre-workout, and easier to digest than oats, or other complex carbs.

Hi, I might think you can try some kind of "baby food" like a bevetables soup with beef and chicken boiled inside, then put all on the blender, and eat it, modify the amouth of water until you are satisfied. Hope it helps. regards, Guillermo.

Original Post by misspriss316: That is because whey protein has the essencial aminoacids, and soy protein does not, so its protein could not be absorved by the body, but you can get some aminoacid supplement with the soy protein, and that should do the trick IMHO. |

Hi, I think you should also think about ectomorph, endmorph and mesomorph, whey you said your body is happy with 213, it is because you may be endomorph, and diet and excersice is not the same for those types of bodies, I am no expert, but maybe you should lower the weight of your lifts, and increase the reps, and maybe go for a 2 day weight lifting routing, and 4 days cardio until you get to your desired weight your ratio 50p, 30c, 20f is good for endomorph (at least according to the info I have found on the internet) Hope this help you, and I should repeat, I am no expert and I am also learning. regards,
Guillermo.

Thank you very much, I will try to stick to the 40/40/20 ratio, it was hard at 1700 cals, will be more at 2100 cals :), as almost all food are based on carbs rather that proteins (I mean average dishes). thanks again, regards, Guillermo. |
