I agree with the above posts and would like to add:

Try to have some type of written rental agreement that outlines the rules of the house, how much the rent is and when it's due.

Pay the rent by check or money order, or get a receipt.

I just wanted to clarify that I am NOT in favor of coffee or wine enemas. (Or really any enema not forced upon me by a medical professional) I prefer to take both my coffee and my wine the old fashioned way. Laughing

My previous post was meant to explain what post #16 put much more clearly, that substances taken rectally go into your bloodstream.

I'm a day late and a dollar short as usual, but I wanted to add that spell check is only helpful if you have spelled the word incorrectly.

If you've used the wrong word and spelled it correctly, the only way you'll know is if someone with better grammar skills tells you.

I can't remember anything I learned about sentence structure, so I apologize to you all for having to grit your teeth through my responses. Wink

Just drinking a coffee gives me that fun 'gurgling' in mah belleh.

But seriously. I think I would feel better about having a little bit of toxins in me than I would about having some unknown, untested, liquid squirted up my butt.

Awww yeah,  I call that my after the morning coffee break, break.

Edited to add the following--(and I forgot to spellcheck Embarassed)

"The caffeine in the coffee does not affect your heart because it is not metabolizing,..."

I'm not a doctor, but I'm pretty sure that this is inaccurate. I've read that wine enemas are dangerous because it's not filtered through the liver but goes directly to the blood stream. I would assume the same would be true for caffeine. I also read that you would have higher levels of caffeine in your bloodstream after a coffee enema than if you drank it. This could be for the same reason as the wine enema??

Pop tarts are evil!! My boyfriend always has them in the house, and I never really ate them before. I grabbed a package one morning when I was running late and forgot to check the cals. I checked when I got home and almost had a heart attack. 400 cals for one package? Oh dear, I can think of several things I'd rather spend 400 cals on! Wink They weren't even that good lol!

Whole family decided that we are having deep fried turkey this year, so I have decided not to count and to enjoy every minute of it. I don't think I'll be able to stuff myself with as much as I used to, as I have become accustomed to smaller portions. I think it will be okay.

My favorites that I'm looking forward to are:

Stuffing

Mashed potatoes w/homemade gravy

cranberry sauce (the jelly kind I could eat the whole can)

Brussel sprouts made with lots of butter and bacon

Pumpking pie with cool whip (it's just not thanksgiving w/out it)

I plan on being super good all week in anticipation.

Pregnancy & Parenting Can I lose weight, even though I'm pregnant? Nov 09 2008

Original Post by silentdeadlyrose:

Ok, sometimes pregnancies happen..but if you weren't on the pill or didn't use protection then that is the mistake and the fault you made on your part. If you did use the condom and it broke then my apologizes. All I'm saying is you should not starve your baby. That is inhuman.

If you aren't ready for a baby or the weight gain then there are medical procedures to take care of that.

My apologizies for the harshness, but it is the truth.

I'm pretty sure the OP was just asking if it was healthy to continue a weight loss plan while pregnant. Obviously if it's her first time she wouldn't have this information, and most OBGYNs don't set your first appointment until the eight week point. I think the OP was showing CONCERN for herself and her new passenger! Just because a pregnancy isn't planned, doesn't mean it isn't wanted. I have a beautiful four year old to prove it! So please try to be considerate and stop trying to assign blame.  It didn't sound to me as if she was trying to blame her situation on anyone.

If I could have anything? Well the only thing I couldn't get for myself right now would be a skinny special from Abby's Pizza in my home town, Grant Pass Oregon. I live on the east coast now and I haven't been home for years.  Anything else if I really crave it I can usually work it into my meal plan for the day.

I couldn't have dieted while pregnant even if I'd wanted to. The only time I wasn't nauseous was when I was eating!

Definitely talk to your doctor, I was very over weight  when I got prego and I asked mine if I should lose weight and he said he didn't recommend trying to lose any while I was pregnant.

A lot of women use this as a time to just relax about what they eat. Try to make healthy choices, but don't stress too much about it. There are a few kinds of foods you are supposed to limit or avoid, so talk to your doc or go online.

Good luck to you!! Have fun!

The Lounge Best "worst date" ever? Nov 08 2008

Around my sixteenth birthday (geez half a lifetime ago, so maybe I should have started with long ago and far away...) The guy I had been crushing on offered to take me snowboarding. I admitted to him that I had never tried it and that I am particularly clumsy. He said that was NO PROB! He would love to give me lessons.

His very creepy uncle drove us to the ski area. For most of the three hour drive, my crush napped in the back seat while uncle perv made conversation about the "ladies" in his life while stealing glances at my boobs.

We ride the lift to the top of the "beginner" slope (looked like a mountain to me) my guy straps the board to my feet, gives me five minutes of pointers, says "see ya at the bottom cutie" and zooms off to start his run. He passed me twice before I made it half way down.

A little more than half way down I fell really hard and hurt my knee. I had to take the board off and walk the rest of the way down, all the while being taunted by small boys on the lift above me. The most vocal of the nice young lads shouted "HEY LADY!! HEY LADY!!! THAT THING GOES ON YOUR FEET! YOU'RE SUPPOSED TO RIDE IT DOWN, NOT TAKE IT FOR A WALK!" "LOOK SHE THINKS IT'S A DOG!"

When I finally made it to the bottom, my crush was waiting. He led me to a nice cozy seating area for two next to a fire....and asked if I minded sitting with his uncle while he took a few more runs!!! At sixteen I was very timid, and didn't want to seem "un-cool" so I spent the rest of the day chatting with the perv while Mr. wonderful got the most out of his ski pass.

I wish I could say that was our last date. We ended up dating for a year.......I mean he WAS REALLY REALLY REALLY CUTE!!

If you make regular shaped cookies, you can cut a heart (or any shape really, simple shapes work best) out of paper, lay it over the cookie and dust it with powdered sugar/colored sugar/sprinkles, and when you lift the paper off the shape is outlined, or cut the shape out and use the reverse of the cut out! I did this for my honey and spelled out happy b day.

Happy reunion!

I usually get the Quaker Simple Harvest Multigrain. It has the convenience of the instant (I like to take it to work and make it in the microwave) but it's made with all natural ingredients. I like the apple cinnamon. 150 cals for a packet, and it fills me up. Here's the link for the nutritional info....

Stephen King's The Stand (I've read it 14 times) or the Harry Potter series (all 7, in order).

I couldn't even count the # of times I've read the Stand  (and yes of course HP!)

No one else has read Clan of the Cave Bear and the rest???

I agree with your list! Along with anything else the prolific Mr. King has written.

some others I fall back on are:

The Other Boleyn Girl, and The Queen's Fool

Outlander (and the rest by Gabaldon)

Pillars of the Earth and it's sequel

The Wheel Of Time saga (still waiting on that last book)

Morgan's Run

Twilight (a new favorite, but one I'm sure I'll read again eventually)

Anything by Clive Cussler

most books by Anne Rice

I read constantly and lately I've had trouble finding something new that's good.

Do you think that relations with your BIL would be strained if you two missed his party because you didn't like someone on the guest list? IMO it would be making the day about your problems, and not about the happy couple. I would be heartbroken if my husbands brother and wife didn't come to celebrate with us in the same situation.

I'm sure it's hurtful and confusing for it to appear that the family is choosing sides, but maybe they don't feel like they have. I just think that the party isn't the appropriate place to take a stand on the issue.
