Hi, everyone. Long time no write. Here are the latest stats for me. Still plateauing, but inching forward.

Starting Weight: 223.6

Current Weight: 195.6

Goal Weight: 180.0

I have 15.6 pounds to go, and am still trying to figure out how to break my cycle. I have been around the same weight +/- 3 pounds, since April.

Hello, everyone! Wow, I have not written anything on here in months! I think my last post was April 7th. To make a long story short, I started February 1st at 223.6, and got down to 197.0 in mid-April, but hit a plateau that kept me bouncing from 197 to 198 back to 197 to 199 to 197, etc., etc. I was getting really discouraged, but I decided to incorporate weight training into my workout in hopes of breaking the cycle. Although it did not work, I believe I am to blame for the lack of success since I was not controlling my eating as much.

To bring you up to date, I must say that beyond losing the weight, the greatest success I have is knowing what I have to do to lose weight. My husband and I went to Hawaii last week. I did not do any exercising and pretty much ate what I wanted. I did not gourge myself, though, as I used to, and made better choices on some days. I gained 5.6 pounds from my previous week weigh in (198) to 203.6. Since weighing in this past Monday, only 4 days ago, I am down to 199.8, a loss of 3.8 pounds.

I have not worked out at all, just easing back into my healthy lifestyle through my eating. I will kick start it on Monday and am really excited to hit my next milestone goal. 6.2 pounds to go!

I am soooo psyched. For the first time in four years I am under 200 pounds- 199.2 as of this morning. I am also starting to fit into 12's and cannot believe it! My official weigh-in date for this week is Friday, but I weigh myself Monday, Wednesday, and Friday for trend purposes. I am soooooo excited!!!!

Hi, everyone! I have not posted in a couple of weeks, so much to tell.

First, I had a really weird weigh in a couple of weeks ago. My goal that week was 203.6, but I weighed in at 205.0 on Friday, March 28th. I was a bit discouraged, but I put my nose to the grindstone and pushed hard. By Sunday, the scale said 206.6 (super weird) and I was somehow heading in the wrong direction. Oddly enough, on Monday I was at 204.0, then 204.6 on Wednesday... I was getting really nervous so I altered my weight loss goal from the original 201.1 to 202.5 due to not hitting my 203.6 target.

Friday came and I hopped on the scale to see 201.8!! While that was .7 above my original goal, it was .7 below my adjusted goal:-). I am now comfortably fitting size 14 from size 18 when I started on February 1st. Starting weight, 223.6 to current weight of 201.8. My goal this week is 200... but I would be REALLY psyched if I can get below. It would be the first time in about four years that I will be below 200 pounds.

I tell you, it feels so good to finally weigh less than my husband. People are starting to notice, and while that is great, the best part of all is being able to shop in my own closet. I have clothes in there that I have not worn in years because I was too large. Stay focused, everyone, you can do it!

Inspired by My Success,

Hi, everyone! It is another great Friday for me and I wanted to share it with you:-). I lost 2.4 pounds since last Friday. My goal was 2.5 pounds, but who cares about that 1/10 of a lb (especially since I wound up having to eat dinner pretty late last night). I currently weigh 206.2, 17.4 pounds down from my initial 223.6!

I am really looking forward to hitting that -20 lbs mark next Friday, not only because it will be cool, but because I get my next weight loss reward. Have a great weekend everyone and stay encouraged!

Kae, instead of eating, go for a walk at night with your favorite relaxation music. You would be surprised how great you feel when you get home. Clear your mind, don't fill your belly. Food will only stop being a medication when you allow yourself to explore the medicinal power of relaxation coupled with exercise. Nothing harsh, just take a nice walk and enjoy the evening if it is not too cold or hot where you are. If weather precludes it, put on some nice music, a vanilla scented candle, and lie on your couch with some good tea. It always works for me when I am stressed. I used to raid the fridge, now I just chill.

Wishing you the best success,

Hi, Malia. I am loosely following weight watchers and shooting for a target of 28 points per day. If I had to guess how many calories that is, I would say about 1500. BUT, the key is that they are 1500 good calories. A typical day for me goes like this:

Breakfast: Bolthouse Farms Smoothie (strawberry banana or berry blast)- these things are GREAT. High in vitamins and minerals and they taste DELICIOUS. Total: 5 Points for entire bottle. *sometimes I will drink half and save the points for lunch.

Snack: Bosc Pear- 2 Points

Lunch: Sandwich or Turkeydog on wheat with 10 ranch flavored rice cake chips- 10 points *Flavored rice cake chips are probably the best creation since water. I substitute them for regular chips or fries and they taste great at only 70 calories for 10 chips (i.e. 2 points)

Afternoon snack: Banana- 2 points

Dinner: (ALWAYS EATEN BEFORE 7PM) Anything I want at or under 12-15 points.

I also only drink water. I am not a member of weight watchers, I just watch my calorie intake and their system really helps. If I do not know the calorie value of something for lunch, but it is pretty rich, I will simply forego dinner. If I am going out to dinner, I will have some fruit or yogurt for lunch and save my points.

I hope this helps and sorry for the length!

I FEEL GOOD!

My Friday weigh-in had me at 208.6, a total of 15 pounds lost since February 1st (223.6). I am able to wear clothes that have gathered dust in my closet for years! I wore a skirt on Saturday that I have not worn in two years. I am so excited!! I started at size 18 and am fitting into size 14 comfortably, size 12 ALMOST, and size 16 easily!

Everyone, stay encouraged and know that your success is the biggest motivator!

Hi, everyone. Well... I began on February 1st at 223.6, as of Friday I was 210.5. I had a bit of a hiccup this weekend due to hosting my sister-in-law's baby shower, BUT, I am back on track and looking forward to hitting my goal this week; 208.6.

Suggestion- I have had consistent success with my weightloss because I work out every day (high-pace running 25+ minutes). I also only drink water and eat fruits, raisins, etc. for snacks. I am breaking my meals up so that I eat five times a day. I am using weight watchers very loosley (i.e. not a subcriber, just using the concept). Since I started, I have lost atleast 2.5 pounds per week, with a 3.2 pound loss last week.

I say all this to say that, if you remain committed to finding that "you" who is hidden beneath the layers of fat; if you stay focused on the fact that being healthy and happy is more important than being full of junk food; if you allow your success to be your inspiration, YOU CAN DO IT! It is not going to be easy, but it is going to be worth it!

-175... HERE I COME!

Hi, there! I love the $25 weight watchers scale. It saves your starting weight under a user profile, then sets your 10% target weight and compares your weight to your initial weight each time you officially weigh yourself using your profile. WalMart has it and I am a TRUE believer!

This is an EXCELLENT forum. Thanks for posting it. I am SOOO excited, everyone. For the first time in my life I am truly resolved to live better. I officially began my journey on Friday, February 1, 2008. I was 223.6 and, as of this morning, I am 215.6. I look forward to this Friday because I am going to get my 10-pound loss reward- a really cute laptop bag, with matching padfolio and planner. My goal is 2.5 lbs/week. So far so good!

I run for almost half an hour six days a week in the morning and watch everything I put in my mouth. My drink of choice is water ONLY. I feel so much better already and can not WAIT to start getting those "did you lose weight? You look great!" comments. Hang in there, everyone! The best is yet to come!
