Hey girls, so I need to get back on track. After everything that has happened, I just have been kinda eating whatever, and not really doing anything as far as exercise goes. I got back to walking on sunday, but haven't gone today, I will go as soon as my little takes his nap. I have gained a lot of my weight back, so now I have to start all over again. Today, I have already eaten close to 1000 calories, and I only allow myself 1500, so I don't know what I will do the rest of the day. It's only 1:40. Trying to find me some pants, I wore mine out, and I don't have the money to buy anymore. BLAH. I did buy me some work out pants, to try to get me back on track. I know that I need to be back were I was before, but I just haven't been into it. But maybe I can get back in it today. Well I will get back on later and see if anyone is on.

Hey girls, sorry I haven't been around in a couple days, i have had a lot going on. To put a long story short. I started a new birth control, started bleeding two weeks later, didn't stop, so after two weeks i went to the doctor, who told me that I had a miscarriage. Even though I did not know I was pregnant, it still hit me hard, and i have been just kinda there for the past couple of days. But on that note, all of this explains why I have not been losing ANY weight. We were not trying for a baby, but still the thought that a child has been lost, really upsets me. but anyway, I am back, and glad to hear you all are doing well.

About the clothes idea, I totally agree that we should swap clothes. I REALLY need some clothes, as I am not working right now, and can not afford any new ones. Anyone out there that has any size 20 or 22? I am currently in a size 22 but they are a little big. Only one pair of pants (you can imagine how often I wash) I mostly wear my husbands shirts. So anyway, don't want to get to much into our finaces.

My day yesterday was horriable too watchme. I totally splurged last night. It's like I was starving and could eat enough. But back on track today. Still cannot go out and walk, because it is still storming. Oh well.

So how is everyone today. It's kinda a glomy day here. Storming like crazy. But as far as me, I have done good on eating. Had some carrots, and done what little exercise I could inside. I do most of my exercise outside, and since it is storming (rain I guess from all these hurricanes here) I can't do them. I guess instead of making tomorrow my day off, I will make it today, and then work out tomorrow (if it's not storming)

liza and boots i totally understand what you mean by being overweight is accepted down south. I live in ga and it seems that not many people hear care much about being fit. We do have a couple of gyms but not many. And organic stores, I have not ever seen one around hear. We do have fruit and vegetable stands but as far as actual stores were you could by organic ice cream and things, there is none.

Today has been a good day. Not too happy when I stepped on the scale, but I should have known better than to do it in the middle of the day than in the morning. Dumb me!Tongue out Oh well, my weigh in day is not really until Wednesday, so that just gives me more motivation to work my butt off until then. As far as food, I have down well. Tonight is date night for me and hubby, so we are going to Red Lobster. We will see how that goes. Yummy shrimp, and stuff is very tempting. Oh well how is everyone elses day going?

Dalma, what part of the outer banks were you at. My hubby's grandmother owns a beach house in Nags Head. We were just there not to long ago. The only complaint I had was the water was very cold.

 

We went to the park yesterday. I got some walking in but not as much as I would have liked. My 19 month old kept following me instead of playing with his daddy, and we had or dog with us, and I was walking with him, and he kept running in the woods, and I would have to get him out. Then everyone got tired, my sons legs were about o give out on him, my little cousin was hot (he doesn't like getting hot) and my hubby was wore out from playing frisbe and soccer, so we left. But it was a good food day. Didn't go over my calorie limit, and felt good about the day over all. Today has been good so far. Started doing so back exercises, to try to help strengthen my back. And have been cleaning all day, so haven't had time to stop and even think about eating anything bad. Hope everyones weeked is going well.

 Glad to hear you all are doing well.Thanks for the welcomes from everyone.

Dalma- Stay safe, if you do not get out before Hanna hits. Congrats on the Gap shopping trip. Keep up the good work.

Watchme- You have gotten this far, and I know that you can do.

As for me, I have been half staying commited, and half not. Today was not a good food day. Me and hubby were out all day, and it was one of those days were you so busy you cannot stop a minute to eat something healthy so you eat out all day. So we eat at Mcdonalds were I had one of those small hamburgers, and a few frees, with sweet tea. Then for dinner we ate at this little BBQ place, and I had BBQ chicken, green beans, and potato salad. So I suppose that it was not the worst food day, but still not that good either. I did not get my daily walk in today or yesterday. Tomorrow we are planning on taking or son and cousin out to the park, so hopefully I will be able to get some walking in there. I am fixing to begin the hunt for some good work out clothes. Anyone know what brand, or were a good place to get them from is? Well I guess I will write again tomorrow to see how everyone is doing, and tell you all how our day at the park goes.

Hi everyone, do you mind if I join your thread?

 

First a little history about me. I am 20 5'9 and 248. I want to get down to 140 by January 1, 2010. I "started" trying to lose weight in feb. but got sidetracked. I decided a week ago today, that I was serious this time. I have a bad back problem, and I am certain that it has to do with all this weight. Two and a half years ago I weighed 150 before I got pregnant. I gained all this in 9 months. And havent lost any of it. I was 254.4 at my heaviest (a week ago) and I have started walking everyday, and guess what, I ENJOY IT. I never ever ever thought I would enjoy walking, but it seems to already be paying off. I also want to be able to keep up with my 19 month old son, I get so out of breath after just a short time of playing with him. I am so happy that there are other women out there in their 20's and are looking to loss around 100 pounds. I don't really have a lot of motivation from home, because my husband is 6 foot tall and weighs 150 on a good day, so he doesn't really understand. He tries but he just can't understand what I am going through. But I loe the people on here. And I would love to join your forum, because I know that together we can all acomplish our goals.

You learned the same two things that I learned. I joined the site in Feb. and at first was motivated but then I just kind of slacked off. But I recently within the last week have got remotivated. My motivation not only comes from wanting to lose weight but also I have bad back problems, I know losing this weight will help a lot. Also I want to be able to keep up with my 19 month old son. As for your calories, I don't know much about the fat in foods, and such, but I do know that it takes 3000 calories to get rid of a pound. So technically speaking if you are eating 500 calories less that you burn a day, you should loss a pound every 6 days, so about a pound a week, which is a healthy weight loss. Anywhere from .5 to 2 pounds a weeks is considered healthy. So you could decrease your calorie intake by 250 more or you could burn more calories by working out, which is what I have chose to do this time. All I do is walk for 1 hour at a moderate pace, and it burns about 380 calories. My calorie intake is about 800 less than my burn meter at a sedentary level, so by walking every day I eat about 1100 to 1200 less than I burn, so I should loss a pund every 3 days. Sorry I am so long winded, I hope this helps anything else I can help with just let me know.

Well I haven't posted in three weeks, but mainly because I was on a plateau and have just gotten off of it, finally. So here are my stats, though they are a day late.

 

Starting weight (2/23/2007): 254.4

Weight last weigh in (April 1): 247.3

Weight this week (April 15): 246.6

Weight loss: .7

Total loss: 7.8

Well not much loss but it is a loss.

Ok i am a day late. but anyways here it goes.

Starting weight (2/23/2007)

Weight last weigh in (Mar. 24) 249.0

Weight this week (April 1) 247.3

Weight loss this week 1.7

Total loss 7.1

OK I did a little better this week than the past few weeks. It seems like everyone elses weight is coming off a lot fast than mine, all these people losing 5-7 pounds in one week, and I am loosing .5-1.5 a week. Now thats not right. Now I know that most of these people are exercising more than I am, I would if i could find some exercises i can do. Since I had my son I have had really bad back problems, and just about everything I have tried hurts. I do walk but probably not as much as I should. Now that it is getting warmer, I am going to start walking more, because I can go outside and walk the dog for longer periods of time. I have one of those exercise band things but I am not sure of any exercises that I can do with it. If anyone knows of any I would appreciate the help. And also of anyone knows any low impact exercises that would help strengthen my back and not hurt it (and help lose weight)  I would GREATLY appreciate that. Well glad to hear everyone is doing well.

Well for the past two weeks I have not done very well. Yesterday of course was easter, and my family always has a big dinner on easter, and I think I controlled myself very well. At least I am still losing weight, it is just coming off VERY slowly, I was hoping it would come off a little faster, but I guess I can't complain, I mean it is still coming off. I think I am going to lower my calorie count some more and see if that helps. Congrats to everyone on their weight loss, and remember hang in there, it will all be worth it in the end. GOOD LUCK!

OK so i didn't do very well this week. I have been really busy, I started back to school this week. I am happy about finally getting started in college (took two years off after high school) and I am doing it online so i can stay home with my one year old son. I have been just grabbing whatever is near by and is fastest to fix. With going to school and trying to get everything done, and with a one year old running around tearing the house up its hard to find time to cook, and eat healthy, I am still counting calories (most days) but I need some fast healthy affordable meals. Anyone have any recipes or ideas about things to eat with low calories. I need something cheap, because i am not working and my husband works all the time so I can finish with school. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks everyone, and keep up the good work.

I am going to try weighing in the morning. My scales are pretty accurate when it comes down to it. I could probably get a lot better scale but for now the one i have is fine. It really just keeps track of how much I lose. I have noticed that I weigh less in the morning, it can vary a pound to two pounds so thats a pretty big difference. But thanks for the replies.

I am so excited about lossing three pounds so far. Thanks for the welcome everyone. I think this is a greast thing to do. It will help us all stay motivated, and when we get discouraged others are there to help. groupiegirlnj i know its hard and you want to give up, but you've got to remember your goal. I had lost four pounds in three days and then the next day i gained 5 pounds. I was shocked and so depressed, but people on here made me feel better, and said that gain from one day to the next is normal, and it could be due to a number of things muscle mass, water retintion, etc. I am sure you already know all this, but I did too, and i still got depressed when I seen the weight gain, just remember to keep in focus, and keep sight of your goal.

The time was not right for me and my husband when we had our baby. But we managed to get through, it is hard but we wanted a child. I am continuing school after taking a year off, but we are continuing with our lives just the way we were before, except with the most precious gift we could ever have. I am not telling you to have a child but I will tell you that they are wonderful, if you feel like you want one then the time just might be right. They do not ruin your life like some would say, they do make it a little hard to accomplish somethings, but they are completly worth it. FOLLOW YOUR HEART!

Hi, I would like to join. OK here is my info. My name is Becca, I am 5'9 and my starting weight was 254.4 and that was Feb. 23. My current weight is 252.0 as of March 2. I Have only weighed this much for about a year since my son was born. i am 19. i I used to weigh 140. I would like to get down to 155 by the begining ofnext year or by the middle. I would like some incouragment, i would love to help anyone that needed help. I walk daily and my goal calorie count is between 1200 and 1500. i hope that i will find the support i need here and hope to make new friendships.

I take my weight at night but i think i am going to start taking it in the morning, And embarrassing i know but i normally weigh with nothing on so I know i am getting an accurate reading.

Hey i hope ya'll don't mind me joining in, I am in the 200 pound club to. I am 5'9 and started out weighing 254, i have lost 4 pounds since i started a week ago. i have gained some but i think that is do to muscle mass. my goal is to eat between 1200 and 1500 calories a day, and to walk 5000 steps. I normally only get to walk about 3500 though. I hope that I continue to lose, and I think that this place will help a lot with motivation. My husband motivates me but he doesnt understand what i am going through, because he is a little bitty guy. I am 19 and I am ready to lose this weight. i used to be 140 pounds, before I had my son. Now my goal weight is 155. I think that is a healty goal. I hope to lose this by the middle of next year. I have seen some amzing success stories on here.
