Hey ladies!
I know I've been MIA! So sorry! Been having a dramatic two weeks with workmens comp, ugh!
Y'all will be proud of me, though! I started a c25k! I hope to run my first 5k in February! I'm redoing week 1 right now, heading into week 2! With my asthma, I'm trying to build lung strenght and take it sort of slow :)
Okay, so work....lets see, um...OK...my dr gave me a full release and took me out of the arm splint on the same day...which was a day my shift was on so I went into work and worked the weekend....had a strength test that Tuesday...worked wed and thurs...went to dr on Friday. He said according to my strength test I need a 40lb weight restriction so I was like *gulp* "Okay, work said I can't come in, period, unless I have a full release...but maybe I can get them to let me if they restrict me to the computer rooms...". So I went in, begged, pleaded, and begged some more...my new HR lady pulled some strings and found a loophole where I can work (Without signing a release!). So, there I go...went into work that Monday....and had this weird bubble swelling come up on that wrist during work, so dr had me leave and come in there...he put me BACK into the splint and gave me a 10lb weight restriction again....which is what I was originally that had me out of work for 2 1/2 months...ugh....So I went back and gave my paperwork to my HR lady and she says "Okay, go on back to work and I'll process it." I was like "Huh? Not that I'm complaining, because trust me I don't want to be back out of work, but whats the deal? The nurse I worked for here before and the HR lady before you told me I couldn't work, period, in the splint, but that the company wouldn't let me work at all unless I had a full release....I fought then, too...but you were able to find a way to let me work...so whats the deal? How were you able to do it, but they weren't?" the HR lady and 2nd in command there told me "well, thats a moot point."
Huh?
So I went to the boss of my shift and asked him....he said "the nurse."
UGH! So the WHOLE TIME I was off work, making HALF my pay, was because some nurse was trying to get me to quit!!!!!!
I HATE POLITICS!

Sorry I keep forgetting to post! I have been back to work after being on workmens comp for 2 1/2 months, so big changes!
I started a c25k!!! LOVE IT! I run every other night right before dark and I'm having a blast!
Super Supers: Southwest Spinach Salad This is a favorite in my house with my husband and I....Typically my 3 year old will eat it, but my 5 year old I just throw together some fresh carrots, grapes, and grilled chicken I keep on hand, just for her...
1 lrg avacado about 5 cups fresh raw spinach 1 lrg tomato 2 oz shredded cheddar cheese fresh raw cilantro, about two pinches (no stems!) Shredded carrots lime juice (two good squirts from the little lemon shaped ones) salsa (about 1/2 c) chop, chunk, and toss all together with lime juice and Salsa! I usually add whatever raw veggies I can that I have on hand.. I put raw squash in it , but my husband doesn't like that so not often...same with raw bell peppers and cucumber! YUM! |

ack! Can't read anything because Josh sicked the kids on me before I got to finish *grumble* I keep meaning to look at undie pics, discuss tables and reactions when the benches are too high, moving, etc...but he says its "your turn to be climbed on for a bit" lol!

Oh, um, yeah...it is July 1st tomorrow eh? oops!
My Dad was sworn in tonight as worshipful master at his free mason lodge and I was helping with all the reception food....So, yeah tonight was cake, egg salad, so on and so forthe.....totally off track tonight....
ah well...
So, tomorrow's weight'll be higher...bummer, lol
Goal for July...lets aim low so I can exceed it...um...lets say I lose 3lbs! Yeah 3!

BTW highlight of the evening (other than how proud my Dad was!) had to have been when my brother told my kids and nieces/nephews that the back stairs of the VERY VERY old building they use for the lodge had a monster under the stairs (Like the Munsters)......about 5 minutes later a stampede of kids ran into the reception hall screaming "WE HEARD THE MONSTER AHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!"

Welcome Cgy! I'm a newbie too! I weight 223 (gulp! was 219 three days ago, *sigh*)
Muppet-LOL You crack me up...
Lets see, juicy details... dogs: 2 st bernard/mastiff mixed female pups(Foxy Roxy aka Roxy and Calamity Jane AKA Jane, 10 weeks last saturday...spoiled rotten and theirs run more of a mix between rotten eggs and rotten egg salad......my dh, Josh, saw the children's book "walter the farting dog" and said "Oh look, its the girls!". We also have 2 beautiful little girls ages 3("Princess") and 5("Diva"). Nicknames for the internet, b/c I'm not a trusting person for the most part (I work in a jail >< makes you jumpy and suspicious). Which brings me .... Job: hate it, looking for a new one. Dh is looking for one where I can stay home with the girls(all four!), which would rock! i love the sahm thing and would really like to get back to that. Guys not wanting to throw stuff away: My husband had a shirt from when he was a lifeguard at hurricane harbor, back when it was wet n wild......he was 16 then, and he was 24 when I "accidently" threw it in the trash with the diaper explosion from my youngest....he'd pulled it out of the trash on everything else, but I found his Achille's heal....muhahahaha! Now, to get rid of the pink, maroon, and forest green plaid shirt with the tan elbow patches...... Excercise: is my bane.....I so want to do a walk to run program, but its already hitting 104 and 106 here!!!! So, I guess I'm going to do something here...but since my Dr said he didn't want me doing anything drastic with my hand, even after he releases me, for about a year....I don't know what to do! I loved the 30 day crunch and had great results with it...BUT....the push ups aren't allowed....help?
hand injury: ok ok, I confess.....I fell...erm....UP....the stairs >< at work and caught it in a handrail.....my dr says I sprained the ligaments to my thumb and index finger....it was bad enough, I lost use of my hand (right, of course...since I'm right handed).....that was 2 1/2 months ago and 2 months of therapy....I should be going back to work on July fourth (*sigh*). I *WAS* fitting into a 16 at walmart (yes, designer wear...oh yeah, baybee ;) ) but now their a bit *ahem* snug.....I wish it were TOM, but it was Heather...and I was binging >< OH and I learned something quite informative...>Spaghetti is NOT my friend! holy calories batman! oops, the four legged girls want in from pottying....

QT-I didn't even log my calories yesterday! I had this HUGE bbq baked potatoe(Loaded, sadly).....granted I stretched it out over three meals (really, really late Breakfast, lunch, dinner)....but I was still scared!!
Olive-have you tried the 30 day shred? Cheapo video and kicked my butt when I could do it.

scrlet- Steriods trip me out, too. I have allergy induced Asthma and man, they put me on that stuff....its nuts! I was on it for a little bit for my hand, to try to relax the muscles and it was nuts!
Dalma-LOL about the pool party! Strutt your stuff!!
Sharpie-I'm in Texas, sorry! I did live in Richmond for about 6 months when I was a teen....looooved Virginia!! Congrats on good job prospects! Hard to find these days!
Portland-Ick, I remember eating school lunches as a teachers aide....and finding plastic still on the pizza!!! Some cafeteria's will have a seperate choice for the teacher......stick with as much veggies as you can and it wont be so bad.
Okay, that's going to be all I can manage before I leave for Occupational therapy. Getting the ol' hand back to working.....we're almost there!!!
Oh yeah, despite my being scared to log my calories for yesterday, it looks like I've officially lost my first pound this week! Huzzah! :)

as much as I hate to, I'm going to have to drop this challenge. I'm sick now, and have only eaten about 399 of my daily calories at 6:34pm (1843, for those of us who have to live on military time), and hardly any water.

Anyone else see on biggest loser weight loss tips on Tuesday? He said they feed the contestants one high calorie meal a week after weight in to jump start their metabolism, and keep them from wanting to cheat! His exact words were "So, go ahead and have that scoop of mac n cheese once a week!" (Bob said it!)
I was like "HUZZAH!" LOL! So, that should help me keep on track. Here I've been thinking "Mac n cheese, never again*cry*" but now i can think "Mac n cheese...on friday....at dinner!"

honestly, I actually LIKE all-bran yogurt crunch! Its Yummah, and fiber filled (I wouldnt still be eating it if I didnt like it!).
On Biggest Loser Tuesday, Bob said (in their little "weight loss tips" thing) that its better to have one high calorie meal a week, to jump start your metabolism, and give you incentive NOT to cheat!
Now, if i could limit myself to ONE....lol! I'm doing better, now that I saw that. I can say "YES!" to Salad every day now, knowing that on Friday nights, I can have steak ;) (Picked Friday night or Saturday day as my cheat meal, because thats when DH and I get to go on our dates more often that the other days, so it frees me up to eat out with him without guilt!)
So, total right now is:
75 pts in Fiber 5 in water :( (I always dehydrate at work because you only get to leave the cell to go "potty" every once and a while, and if I drink my 8 8oz glasses a day in there, I'd be dancing all day. Not very professional, hehe!)

ok, so I think I figured out a pattern on my binging/falling-off-the-wagon days...
Every time I dont eat breakfast, and feel completely and totally hungry, I end up fixing more food than I need, and then I feel guilty for fixing all that food and just eat it. When I've binged, I then feel like I've failed for the day, and throw the rest of it out of the window, eating whatever for dinner.
So, now that I'm identifying some of my weaknesses, I'm going to list them to see what Ya'll think.
Not eating Breakfast or snacks-I end up binging when over hungry. Snacking while fixing a meal, etc
Fast food addiction-I have a hard time choosing the salad over the burger. Also, if you go at breakfast, there is virtually NO healthy options. Places like Taco Bell, that are cheap, offer a fresco style, but its still high in fat and sadly includes ONIONS, which I'm allergic to.
Sickness-When I'm sick, I eat whatever and dont exercise, because of how i feel.
Peer Pressure-If everyone else is doing it, it SHOULD be ok for me to, right? LOL!
Sweet Tooth-GAH! I love LOVE LOVE sweets! Usually can avoid if I have a tasty yogurt or cereal I can munch dry.
Exercise, or lack there of- I'm having a REALLY hard time getting inspired and sticking with an exercise plan. In fact, this is how UN inspired I was yesterday, heh. I ate ice cream watching the biggest loser! *Face palm*
I know i can do this, but for some reason, I'm getting off to a rocky start.
Although, I did bribe my husband into us ditching the fast food and spending the money on healthier food, and the extra we save putting in a savings account....
the bribe?
I told him the money in savings would eventually go to a big screen tv

Well.....Yesterday was a bust, for the most part. I kept under Maint. Intake, but blew my weightloss calories (Hey, for me, being under maint is good though, lol!).
My dearly beloved and sympathetic husband (since his turnaround yesterday....after lunch....you'll understand in a minute) Ordered a HUGE appetizer of FRIED stuff at lunch, with just me and the kids with him. I guess he didnt realize what a temptation it would be for me. After a bit of a vent to him about it (Oh, I like that, I'll call it that from now on...Vent...heh), He's had a complete turn around and is now trying to Help me. BUT I did cave and eat a few things off of there. Normally, though, I would've eaten my half of it, and then some, so I feel good that I was able to keep it down (we're talking friend shrooms, cheesesticks, onion rings, and fried zuchinni, with RANCH on the side!). Plus, I ordered smart at lunch, Side salad fat free ranch, Green beans, and grilled chicken breast, minus the rice. I was so proud of myself til the fried temptation hit the table...then I even caved and ate a roll! GAH! I even tried eating the extra order of carrots (they brought one of my kids that vs corn on the cob, which she hates carrots, so yeah) to keep from eating some of the fried....but the to go box for the extra's did me in.
Doing better today, though...
oh and no excercise yesterday :(

Kae-I dont consider that feeling sorry for yourself! I know it frustrates the daylights out of me that my DH can drop weight like a coat! I understand you being proud of you friend, but disgruntled that its not happening to you that way. BUT! Remember! Your ARE losing! And thats the idea, right? :)

Kauf- Hey, Maybe you can explain something for me. Is the eat meter calories how much you NEED to eat at the top? Because it seems like a TON to me. If it is, I'll drive for it, if not, how can you find out how much you need to eat daily?
Ok, so it didnt hit the fan...yet. They said it'll be out tomorrow, instead. Thankfully, I dont have to work then. I imagine they all know, though. Their little system of information is usually better than ours, and I know a few of the "trustee's" know what happened. Thats usually a kicker for the information, since half the time they pass it

I had SUCH a hard time not binge eating last night!
Three of my coworkers were arrested, two were a married couple that I've known through work (actually used to confide in the wife, as she was on my shift and the person I went to to de-stress).
They had everyone going, even the "warden" of our corrections facility was crying as he told us about this.
I stayed under my calories for the day, but it was hard.
