Hi Ladies, I haven't been around much-summer vacation and the kids are keeping me busy! Weight this week--180 I got way off track for a couple of weeks, but I'm back on now. I've made a goal to lose 10 pounds by my birthday in late July, so I really have to stay on track now. No more of this doing well for a week or so then just giving up. (My pattern seems to be to stay on track for a week, then be way off for 2 or 3, so any progress I make in that good week is lost.)

My weight this week 178.5 ( I expected it though-I have been eating everything in sight for the last week, its almost that TOM (which could be partly to blame for the eating too...), and I think the 175.5 from a couple of weeks ago was a little off. Anyway, I'm back on track today and even with all the eating I did last week, I have been keeping up with working out. 30 Day Shred is getting a little easier, but it's still hard-does that make sense?!

Hi Ladies, I am still sore from doing my 30 Day Shred dvd one time, 2 days ago! I think it's supposed to be done everyday for 30 days, but there's no way-I wouldn't be able to move if I had done it again! I guess I need to work up to doing it more often. Eating has been going really well, except for the piece of pound cake that I couldn't resist yesterday-it wasn't even that good, so the rest of the cake went in the trash. I felt a little wasteful throwing it out, but nobody else in the house was going to eat any more of it. Akela9-I'm not the best housekeeper either, but the way I try to look at it is that keeping the house clean is not the main part of my "job". The kids are the most important part of my job. Mine are older (11, 8, & almost 5) so there is a lot they can do on their own, and then I clean what I can in the time they are entertainng themselves. The other day I actually told my oldest that I wouldn't be going to his baseball game because the house was so messy I needed to clean. Then I thought about that-putting a clean house before my son-what was I thinking?! My youngest had her preschool graduation that night too, before the game, and I wouldn't have thought of skipping that. So I went to the game and worked on the house the next day (and it's still a mess today!!So I guess my advice is just to remember that the kids come first-they don't care about the mess! |

Hi Ladies, I hope everyone had a good weekend! I just signed up for weight watchers (online, since I have done the meetings and they don't really do much for me). I just needed a change and a little more guidance for awhile! I'm doing 3 months because I had a coupon for $25 off (and that was most of the sign up fee). I also bought Jillian Michaels 30 Day Shred dvd and did it for the first time today. I had big plans to do the workout, and then since it's just 20 minutes, go for a nice long walk. I'm rethinking the walk now! It's just 20 minutes, but it's a tough 20 minutes! It was good though, but I'm sure I'll be feeling it in the morning. I may go for a walk anyway, just keep the pace slow, since my kids all start summer vacation this week and I won't have too many chances to go out alone for walks.

Current weight 178.5
My big motivatior the last few days has been finding out that I weigh more than my husband I have been really trying to pay attention to my body and eat only when I'm hungry. And then I really think about what I'm going to eat and try to pick the healthier choice. Of course I've had lots of slip-ups and I don't care I want the cookie anyway moments! But it seems to be getting easier. My exercise has been a little limited because I hurt my back again. I've been sticking to walking, pilates and yoga for the last week.

Thanks for fixing my starting weight Steph-now I don't feel like I gained a bunch (all in my head since I KNOW the higher weight is due to the new scale)! I stepped on the scale this moring and was down 2 pounds! I had a "treat day" today, so I ate a little more than I should have, but I'll be back on track tomorrow. I want to lose even more before our weigh in next week. Hope everyone has a great weekend!

findingmeagain-good for you for stopping at 6 doritos! I know I couldn't have done it. Sometimes, for me anyway, it seems like it's easier to just not have any of something like that, because once I start eating it, it's hard to stop. Hope everyone has a great weekend! |

Today's weight is 181.5, so along with the 6 pounds my new scale gave me, I gained 1.5 pounds. I was sort of expecting it since I enjoyed too many Easter treats and have been pretty lazy. Steph-would you mind changing my starting weight to 182 (just adding the 6 pound difference from my new scale)? That way it won't look like I'm going the wrong way with my weight! |

Hi! I haven't posted in a long time-been busy with kids (spring break, Easter, sickness, etc). I'm sure all you mommies know how that is! I was doing really well with my eating and working out, but then 2 of my 3 kids got sick and I used that as an excuse to put off my workouts. Then I was all ready to get back on track this week, and I woke up yesterday and could barely move my right shoulder. It was very painful-so I comforted myself with lots of Easter candy and just too much food overall and I continued that into today, even though my shoulder feels much better. I WILL get back on track starting now! I plan to walk for my workouts, until my shoulder feels normal. I was doing the Couch to 5K running program and using DVD's for weights/toning but I'll put those on hold so I don't make it worse. And I will not keep using this as an excuse to keep eating junk I also finally got around to getting a new digital scale and it's so much easier to read than my old dial scale that I was using, but it weighs me 6 pounds heavier than my old scale I'l post my weight on Thursday, even if I don't like it!

Team Malone, I just had to switch scales too. The display on my digital one went out, and after I spent a fortune on new batteries, it was the scale So I had to go back to my old dial scale that I had buried in a closet. Luckily, it weighs me the same, but I liked the digital for being able to see half pound changes. But I don't want to spend any money on another scale when this one works fine! Hi Ladies! I hope everyone has has a good couple of weeks. I weighed in today and haven't lost since my last weigh-in, which I expected since I have just started to eat better after about 2 weeks of eating everything in sight and not working out much. So, my weight for this weigh in is 175. I have decided that for awhile instead of counting calories, I am just going to try to listen to my body and eat when I am hungry and make good choices. I tend to get obsessed with counting calories, and when I eat something that isn't necessarily bad, but that I can't figure out the calories for, then I just go out of control eating whatever I want. It's all in my mind, I know, but that's where this starts! Once I get in control with my eating, I may go back to counting calories and see if I can handle it better. Anyway, I just started this a few days ago and it seems to be going well.

Hi Ladies. I hope everyone had a good weekend. I have been setting monthly exercise goals for myself and I thought I'd post this month's goals to motivate myself, knowing I'll have to tell everyone how I did at the end of the month! Since I started off the month on a very lazy note, these goals are a little less than what I normally set for myself: I want to exercise on 17 of the days left in March I also want to walk a total of 20 miles this month (Hopefully we will have some nice weather so I can do some of these miles outside!) I want to do strength training/toning 2 times each week My weekly goal this week is to just get back on track with exercise and eating right I hope everyone has a great week!

Hi everyone, I've had a pretty good week. I have kept up with my goal of counting calories and journaling everyday since Tuesday when I got back on track after several days of being way off. I usually end up stopping counting calories about halfway through Fridays, but today I did it all day-even with a trip to taco bell (I stuck to the fresco menu) and overdoing it on homemade granola bars (I had 3 Tomorrow will be a little tricky b/c I will be eating at least one meal at someone else's house and I don't know what will be served. My plan is to just watch my portion size, and to get a good workout before I leave home in the morning. I hope everyone has a great weekend! |

Good morning ladies! I stuck to my goal yesterday and counted/journaled every bite I ate (even the couple of bites of my daughters mac & cheese that I snuck while fixing her lunch). Team_malone-thanks for the idea of logging ahead of time. I never really though to do that. I do have dinner planned ahead of time most of the time, so I try to consider that when I'm looking for an afternoon snack. My biggest problem times seem to be right when the older kids get home from school (stress of homework, dinner prep & everything all at once!) and evening, an hour or so after dinner, when I know I'm not even hungry. I have been trying to have a cup of tea in the evening when I just want to eat but am not hungry.
Nbgirl-I had the same problem with my jeans after my first baby was born (he was 8 pounds, 12 ounces). Even when I weighed less that before pregnancy, I couldn't wear some of my pre-pregnancy jeans. I hope everyone has a great day!

Good morning! I love the idea of posting a weekly goal. My goal for this week is to count my calories & journal all my food ALL day long. I am so good at starting off great with this, but by either my afternoon snack or dinner, I stop counting. By doing that I am sort of giving myself permission to eat poorly. I had a good breakfast this morning and I am planning to get outside for some exercise since it's nice again today. Have a great day ladies! |

| I'm having a pretty good day so far. It is pretty warm here for Feb, so I got out to a park for my walk today. I got in a little extra walking when I took my daughter to the park after preschool, but it was slow-still it was moving rather than sitting on the bench watching her play! I may still get on the treadmill after dinner tonight because I didn't walk as long as I wanted to this morning. I've done well with eating too, and as long as stick to my planned dinner I'll be right on track for today.
I forgot to post my weight for the last weigh-in, and it is late because I forgot about weigh in until the next day, since I didn't have a computer on weigh in day. Anyway, here it is:

Hi Ladies! I just wanted to let everyone know that I'm still in this, but my computer was out for almost 2 weeks so I'm trying to catch up. I weighed in and was up half a pound. Since I didn't have a computer I guess I thought calories didn't count--so I haven't been eating very well. I'm getting back on track though, and have kept up with exercising pretty well.

Hello! Well, I got way off track today. I stayed up too late last night reading, so I didn't get up for my morning workout (and on Fridays early early morning is usually the only time I have b/c my daughter is out of preschool). Then I ate way too much today-I ate pretty much nonstop all day. But tomorrow is a new day, right? Saturdays are more relaxed since there's no school, and my kids are old enough that I can get on the treadmill for while they watch Saturday morning cartoons. Have a great weekend everyone! |

I was a little dissappointed when I weighed in today because I didn't lose anyting, but I also didn't gain.
