Ghrame crackers are my new love!  The regular cinnamon and chocolate ones have 130 calories for 4 squares.  If I just want to cure a craving, 1 or 2 squares are perfect and only 32/65 cals :)

If you like icecream sandwiches, you should try taking one graham cracker (2 squares) and putting one tablespoon of whipped cream in the middle and freezing them overnight. Then you can have two of the sandwiches for 150 calories. (130 for 4 squares and 20 for the whipped cream.) I think ReadyWhip is also better for you than whipped cream in the tub.

Also, FiberOne Oats and Chocolate bars are amazing. Had one for the first time yesterday.

Hey guys,

I wasnt going to update at all because I was getting a little depressed about the whole thing. I cant seem to get out of the 230s. I keep losing one week and going back up the next. I dont know what Im doing wrong. I just uped my exercise and Im going to try to cut my calories by 100-200 even though CC says I should eat around 1850 to lose Im goint to try 16-1700 and see if that helps. Im up .8 this week putting my at 234.8. I just dont understand. I can see the difference in my body but Im just not seeing it on the scale and its depressing me. I only have 4 months to get anywhere close to were I would like to be for my wedding. I am planning on continuing to lose after that but I would like to lose another 30-50 before Sept 1.

Im just complaining dont listen to me. You guys are doing great. Keep up the awesome work.Laughing

Fitness Flabby triceps, but toning up everywhere else Apr 23 2008
12:16 (UTC)

I'm in the same boat. I work out 3-5 times a week. 3 weights days. My exercises consist of about 2-5 different triceps exercises throughout the week. I have noticed a difference in my triceps and I did my measurements on monday and have lost a good 2 inches at least in my arms alone (not sure exactly at the moment). They are still hanging and large but they always have been. I was looking at them last night after doing my exercises and noticed that even though I still have the hanging skin I am building the muscle underneath. Skin is elastic. It will go back it might just take a little longer depending on how bad it is. Mine have been this way ever since I can remember (Ive been overweight by a lot since I was 5.) Maybe look into a couple of other exercises that you can add and dont get discouraged. It will happen. It might just take a little time.

Check these out. Maybe they will help a little.

Good luck,

Good morning,

weigh in day has arrived again.

Starting: 254

Last week: 237.8

This week: 234

Loss: 3.8

g1rl79, I completely understand. My dad is an amazing cook. Me and my fiancee go over for dinner every sunday. Luckily my family knows that I am on a diet and because of that my dad trys to cook a little better but its hard with meatloaf and rolls and mashed potatoes and everything. Its hard to say no. I try to save some of my calories for the day when I go over to their house. It seems to work. If you just eat less it will all work out in the end.

Good luck to everyone and I hope you all had a great week.

I live in Florida as well.

4 years ago I had a gastric bypass. Im 22 years old now and the day I went into surgery I was 375 at age 18. I got down to 220 with the bypass alone. After 4 years I realized that I was able to eat almost the way I used to before the surgery just in smaller amounts so I ended up gained 30 pounds back. When I started on CC I had gotten back up to 254. When I went through the surgery the doctors told me that the surgery was really just a weight loss tool and was only suppose to help me lose 1/3 of my body weight. The rest was up to me. Now here I am 4 years later siting at 237 as of last tuesday trying to lose the last 50 to 70 pounds that I want to to be happy.

I completely understand where youre coming from. I know that I would not have been able to lose any weight without the surgery. I had been on diets since I was 10.

I congratulate you all on your weight loss. You are all doing amazingly. Im glad to see that I am not alone here. There is never a day that I regret going through with my surgery. If I hadnt then I would not be where Im at today. You guys are doing great and keep me posted on your success. Laughing

Weight Loss Losing inches, not pounds - driving me crazy Apr 17 2008

I know exactly what you mean. I have been losing inches but not that many pounds as well. I was wondering why. I would think that the pounds would come off first then the inches would start going but apparently not. Ive only lost 16 pounds since I started march 1st but Ive lost (dont have the exact numbe right now) at least 5 inches total. Its weird to me cause I have always been overweight. Im glad to see someone else in the same boat as me. Good luck.

Hi Eileen,

Ive been at this since March 1st and am down 16.8 so far. I would like to get down to 180 by my wedding but if I only make it to 200 but build more muscle and lose some of the extra skin I will be happy with that. I have not gotten my dress yet because I have to have it specially made to be the design that I want. (we are having a themed wedding.) Im going next saturday to take to them about it.

I would work out in the morning but I like to have that time to myself in the mornings and I have a friend that works out with me so we do it in the late afternoons or early evenings.

I would love to know what you were doing to have lost 30 pounds in your first three months.

Good luck to everyone. You are all doing great.Laughing

Thanks G1rl79 I really appreciate it. I was feeling a little bad about it this morning. Tuesday was my day off and yesterday I wasn't feeling so good so I only did 40 crunches and 1 mile on the exercise bike (compared to the 50-75 crunches and 4 miles on the bike that I normally do on cardio days).

I see that you are also doing great. Not gaining is as big of an accomplishment to me as losing is. We have a wonderful group here and congrats to all of you. You are all doing wonderfullyLaughing.

Good morning,

I dont think that I am ever going to know exactly how much I weight. Apparently I fluctuate 2-3 pounds give or take. Im not upset at the weight this morning. It was still a good number but it would be nice to see it consistantly go down instead of jumping up 2 pounds one week, down 5 pounds the next week and then back up 3 pounds the following week. I guess I just have to live with that and take it with a grain of salt. Ive been doing well seeing as how Ive only been at this weight loss journey for a month now. But it would be nice to see things change for the better each week. Oh well. Try harder next week I suppose.

Should I just go and log everything?  Even my trip to the bathroom at work?  (is a floor up and I take the stairs at least 6 times a day-with all the water I drink).  Plus I walk to work-should I log that too?

 G1rl79,

I walk to work everyday from the parking garage and try to park on the second or third floor so I have to take the stairs, plus I work on the second floor of my building so I have stairs there then I have to go to our other building (so that means down the stairs in my building about 18 of them, down another set of about 40, over to the building, up another flight of stairs, and return) everyday. I dont count any of that because I put my activity level at light active because even though I work at a desk job I know that between everything I end up walking about 3-4 miles at work alone. I dont usually put my exercise in either but I normally do 20-30 mins a day 6 times a week. I just try to keep my calories between 1600-1800 a day and if I go over a little then Im okay with that because I know I did not put any of my activity in for the day. It seems to help me doing it that way.

Hope this helped and I hope you are all doing well.

Sorry about the two posts like 30 mins apart. Tongue out

Hey guys,

Just wanted to vent I guess. Yesterday was one of those days I just wanted to give everything up and eat all day. I did really well up until 12 last night. I was awake until 4 30 this morning and just wanted to give up. I believe that calorie start over at midnight so Ill just take some out today to make up for the homemade milkshake (which really wasnt bad for me) and the beer and a half.

Things are going to be better today. Hope you are all doing good.

My best suggestion to the "missing a work out" is to find a workout that works for you and a buddy. I ordered this book (The Body Sculpting Bible for Women... they have one for men too.) and I have a friend that does it with me. 6 days a week with Sundays off. It only takes 30-45 mins to do which is good for me with work and all. You dont have to use the gym you can do it from home and everything Ive heard about it tells me that it works. I started that one Monday and I can tell you I do see a difference already and its motivated me to actually stick with it.

Just thought that I would share.

Good Morning to you all. First off I want to tell you, G1rl79,that you are doing great and to keep up the good work. I like to think that because I can see the differences in my body that I am doing great but I know that dumb little scale can make you crazy. Just wanted to put out there that the scale isn't always the way to tell you are progressing.

So like I said in my last post I was not happy completely with the way things worked out yesterday. I threw in some new factors to the equation though. I bought a new scale one with numbers and percentages of numbers (crazy to think that can make a difference) and I started a new exercise program this week (which I know is working because I hurt like I never have before after only 20-30 minutes a day of doing it.) It is also only day number 4 of TTOM so hopefully this number is a combination of all the factors but...

Stating: 243

Last Week: 239

This week: 242.8

Lost: +3.8

Hopefully things will be better next week. Good luck to you all.

Very proud of all of you and I hope we all can continue the success on tuesday.

You dont just burn calories exercising. You burn calories by just breathing. Anything you do you are burning calories. The burn meter on this website gives you an estimate of about how much you will burn (according to what you put in as your activity level) doing normal everyday things. You burn calories all day long not matter if you are just sitting in a chair watching tv or if you are at the gym for an hour. What you do on top of your normal everyday stuff is added to what you do normally. So its possible to burn more than you eat as long as you are watching what you eat.

The other night I was craving pizza and I thought hey Ill just look it up. If you search on this website for Domino's and look at the Vegi Feast pizza (1 med slice 80/1 large slice is 109) or the Hawaiian Feast pizza (1 med 90/1 large is 127) thats really not bad at all. I try to stay away from the meats cause they are just not worth it to me but it totally fixed that craving when I didnt think that I was going to be able to eat pizza. Just thougt I would let all the pizza lovers out there know.

Young Calorie Counters Confused about how to lose weight. Mar 15 2008

Hey, This website said that you were suppose to eat 1700 calories a day which was determined by your age, gender, height, and weight. If you go to the tools on this website and under calorie target and fill everything out then it should let you know how many calories you should be eating to lose weight. 2000 calories is what all nutrition facts are based on but if you are trying to lose weight then you will have to eat less calories and burn more. Its not that you have to actually eat less. I am 22 and weigh 239. I eat around 1300 to 1600 a day depending. As long as you dont go below 1200 calories in a day (which is extremely unhealthy and can actually have the reverse effect on your weight) you will be fine. I suggest that you find out what this website says your calorie intake should be a try to stay around that just dont go below 1200.

I wish you the best of luck.

Weight Loss What would you chose? Mar 15 2008

For me, I decided to actually see how much walking I do at work in a normal day so I got a pedometer (they are not expensive). I found out that in a normal day of work (Walking 5-10 mins from my car to the office, up and down stairs, getting up from my desk and doing normal office things) I walk a estimated 3-4 miles at work alone. I work out 4-6 times per week 30mins to 1 hour. so I put myself into the light active category. My suggestion is to put your calorie intake at what you think is right for you, keep up your exercise, and look into a pedometer. Even though I knew I walked quite a bit during the work day I didnt know that it was that much. It really surprised me. Hope this helped and I wish you the best of luck.

Original Post by g1rl79:

Sorry but I just needed to share...  My starting weight is 130.4 and I said that this time I won't go crazy starving but I will try to lose 1 lb a week for the next 3 months.

I think I need some support. I am so upset because I weighted myself this morning and I was exactly 130.4.  I can't believe that I didn't even move like .4 or something.  I worked out last night for 1.5 hrs (intense cardio) and I had boiled veggetables afterwards and some prunes and dried apricots.  Today I feel extremely bloated and FAT.  I just want to be 129.4 on Monday but I don't see it happening.  Soooooooo dissapointed.

G1rl79, Dont be so discouraged. If you weighed yourself two days ago and today and are the same weight you might be doing everything right but Ive found that the more times I weigh myself throughout the week the more the scale with move (or stay the same.) I try to stick to once a week (even if I do weigh sometime during the week I dont record it until "weigh in" day) before Ive eaten anything that day and at the same time as the previous week. It makes the scale more accurate. Some times I just gotta know so I will weigh myself throughout the week but thats just my personality. Hope this helps.
