Hello! I would love to join your buddy/support group. I am 5 '6''-7'' and I currently weigh 170 lbs, 26 years old. I have a daughter who is 5, before I got pregnant with her I weighed 125! I was at 202 when I gave birth to her 5 years ago. Then I got my weight back down to 135 3 years ago, but then I went through a divorce and stuff and gained 30 lbs in the past 3 years!!! I am so bummed! My mini goal is 150 and then eventually down to 140. But I started counting calories a couple months ago, and now have decided to go to on the South Beach Diet Phase 1 starting this week. So far so good, I have lost 2 lbs so far!

Morning all! My time of the month just finished, and I ate like crazy this past week. But after all said and done, I have lost 2 lbs. Which is good. I still have 8 to go before the 4th but I wont give up. It's been so hot in San Diego, its been hard to go to the gym at lunch, take a shower, re-do hair and makeup and get back to work in time. Last night my ex had my daughter so I got to go to the gym for 2 hours. I burned 575 in cardio alone! I was so stoked. Usually in my half hour of working out at lunch I only burn 250. Anyways going to have to find a new workout plan since the lunch time isn't cutting it anymore. I am thinking maybe I could do the 30 mins at lunch, and workout again after work with my daughter by walking/running the lakes or something. I start a new class tonight at San Diego State, so I am not getting any exercise today! :( Menu: B: Special K Cereal with skim milk and banana S: Grapes L: Chicken Breast with salad S: Eating Right Apricot Bar D: Whole Wheat Pasta with ground turkey and spagehtti sauce

I would like to join as well. I am now 170 lbs and would like to be back to my normal 150. It is all the eating crappy and drinking on the weekends. I wish I could blame it on my daughter, but she is now 5. :) and I have been down to 135 after her. I am starting back at the gym today (I have been going since January but for the last 2 weeks haven't gone once!). I eat great during the week, but it's on the weekends that is my downfall.

Thank is an awesome idea, keep calorie count low during the week and try to maintain during the weekends. Thanks for the tip! I will do that. Yesterday was beautiful in San Diego, when I got home the BF and daughter went to walk Santee Lakes, we also played tag with her for 30 mins. (Which by the way left me very sweaty and tired, I am getting old!) Got some good cardio in and ate well. Unfortantley today I am swamped at work, I ate a big breakfast and have yet to eat lunch and it's already 3:00 pm. I am leaving work at 5:00 to go to school and take my final. No excersie today. Have a good rest of the day!

Susieq76- I have a problem with the drinking too. it's like I try to drink light beer when we get together and socially drink with our friends..but it doesn't seem to matter if I have 4-5 beers! That's 400-600 calories. I stopped drinking wine because I could drink a whole bottle on a Saturday night getting together with the neighbors and having a game night. I am trying to drink liquor with crystal light or diet soda if I do drink. |

Hello there! I hope everyone had a good weekend. I had a bad weekend, I find myself doing REALLY good during the weekdays and losing a couple pounds, then having bad weekends and gaining it back. So on Monday I am always the same weight! It's frustrating. One good thing is my daughter is now out of school, which means we will have more time in the evenings instead of spending time doing homework and projects. We can now walk at the Lakes and get out everyday. My boyfriend and I walked Friday, Saturday and Sunday. So we got some cardio everyday. My daughter is now going to summer camp right by my work, so instead of going to the gym at lunch, I am going to have lunch with her everyday. So I am hoping to get at least an hour of cardio a day after work everyday. Here is my plan for today: b: egg white, whole wheat toast, turkey ham l: chicken enchiladas - spanish rice D: turkey burger with steamed veggies Walk for 60 mins at the lakes tonight. Everyone have a good day!

Good morining, hope everyone had a nice weekend. I still am going up and down on the scale...kinda frustrating but I am going to stick to it. My daughter and I walked together at the lakes this weekend (she is 5), she was so excited to wear the pedometer to tell us how far we had been walking. So I got out every day and did some kind of exercise. Which the weekends are normally a bad time for me, so I am proud of myself for that. Sunday my daughter and I swam at our pool. While we were playing I was doing some water exercises the length of the pool. I still feel I could totally do 10 lbs before July 4th, and I am going to! Here is the plan for today: B: Whole wheat toast, egg whites and salsa S: Tuna and whole wheat Crackers l: chicken breast and pinto beans S: Cucumbers D: Chicken Breast, brown rice, green beans |

We put one packet of crystal light in a pitcher, mix with 1 cup vodka and the rest water. It was great, because you could barley taste the alochol and it wasn't horrible in calories.
I hope you feel better chomp. Ear infections are the worst! |

Morning everyone! Krenren77 that outfit that you are wearing to the black and white party on friday sounds HOT. I am sure you will look great. My weekend was alright, Saturday my boyfriend and I walked the Lake (which was 6 miles) and then we spent 3 hours cleaning the house. I really got a lot of exercise Saturday. Sunday I did no exercise, but I am back on schedule today. We were talking about drinks with low calories last week, and I found another one this weekend. We got together with some friends on Saturday night and my boyfriend found that Vodka and Crystal Light was a great low calorie drink. He made it with Strawberry Banana Orange Crystal Light ...it tasted great!!! Very fruity and couldn't even taste the alochol. Just wanted to share... My menu plan today: B: Whole wheat toast, egg whites, salsa and turkey ham S: Nectarine and Triscuits L: Tamale Pie S: Cucumbers D: Chicken Breast with steamed veggies 30 mins ellipitcal, 30 mins weights and after work walking 3 miles.

Hello!! I can't stay away from the scale, I feel the need to weigh myself every morning. I weighed myself this morning and I am down another 1.5 lbs! That is 2.5 lbs this week...but I know you can go up and down each day. I worked out hard yesterday! 2 hours!! Actually I take that back, 1 hour of cardio, 45 mins of weights and 15 mins in the sauna. I felt great after my workout. I stuck to my meal plan and was really proud of myself. I am taking my daughter to gymnastics tonight, so I can't work out after work or at lunch since I had a meeting. Menu: B: 7 grain toast with salsa , protein shake and milk s: half of a donut (it was in my meeting!!!) L: Ahi Ceasar Salad with no dressing S: Grapefruit D: Sushi with steamed veggies |

Chompforchange- I have this same problem, when we get together with friends and drinks are involved..I don't know what to drink. I found this list that might help you. I drank Diet 7 up and Seagrams 7 this weekend, and it was really good. 1. Rum and Diet Coke (1 oz. rum) - 65 calories (1.5) Hope this helps! |

Good Morning all! I am down 3 lbs, since Sunday but I know I shouldn't weigh myself every day. I am going to not weigh myself again till Friday. Going to workout twice today!! Once at lunch, my normal cardio and a little bit of weight lifting and then my daughter is visiting her dad for a couple hours tonight so after work I will head straight to the gym and take a class! I am pretty excited. Plan for today: B: Protein Shake with milk, spinach and vegtable low carb tortilla with fat free cheese ( I needed something different) S: Kashi Whole Wheat Waffle with frozen blueberries, rasberries and strawberries L: Lean Cuisine Three Cheese Chicken , 1/2 grapefruit S: Whole wheat toast with peanut butter and edamame D: Tilapia (white fish) with steamed broccoli Good luck to everyone today!!! |

| Hello all! Congrats Krenren77 8 lbs is wonderful.
I hope everyone had a great Memorial Day weekend...I did. It wasn't the best as far as eating, but I didn't do too bad. I had Friday off work to volunteer at my daughter's school. After that we took her to Balboa Park and walked around for 3 hours (that counted as my exercise). Saturday we rented a peddle boat and peddled around the lake for an hour. (more exercise), Sunday and Monday I didn't exercise at all. I had to write a paper for school, and we visited friends and relaxed. I am still at 170 this morning, but planning on working hard this week. I go up and down so much on the scale, it's frustrating. I think I might cut my salt intake (thank you for the suggestion carolally) to see if that helps. Menu: B: Whole wheat toast, egg whites, salsa S: coffee with creamer L: spinach salad with seafood whole wheat pasta S: Cucumbers and nectarine D: Boca Burger and corn I will weigh in on Friday. Good Morning all. I was a little depressed yesterday because my bad weekend really showed up on the scale, but I am determined to be back in the 150's soon enough. I am 5'7'' I am a larger frame, so I look good between 140-150. I was okay with myself when I was 155. So that is my goal for July 4th. Last week I weighed in at 166.5 but yesterday I was 170. :( All that alcohol and bad food this weekend. Or it could be my time of the month came on Sunday. I am not sure, but I had a good workout yesterday and I ate well too. Here is the plan for today. I have school tonight which means I only have a 30 mins lunch instead of an hour, so I will only be able to work out for 30 mins at lunch time today. Breakfast: 7 grain toast, egg whites, banana and 1 cup coffee Snack: Triscuits with salsa Lunch: ahi tuna (sushi) with a salad Snack: Grapefruit Dinner: Lean Cuisine |

Hello! I had a horrible weekend, I ate all bad stuff and drank. My daughter visited her dad this weekend and I had my best friend come into town from Arizona, so needless to say Friday we had a girls night with drinking and girl talk. Much needed, but I could have done without the booze. Saturday we laid out by the pool most of the day. Sunday my boyfriend and I spent some alone time, he took me to Coronado for a wonderful lunch and bike riding around the island. But I don't think my swimming, and bike riding this weekend made up for all the bad food I ate and booze I drank. :( But i am back at it today. My boyfriend and I both said we are back to being healthy and exercising daily today. So I am not going to focus on the past.... Here is my menu for today: B: Egg whites and whole wheat toast and salsa S: Granola Bar with Orange L: Lean Cusine with a salad S: Cucumbers D: White fish with steamed veggies Cardio: 30 mins on ellipitcal with 30 mins of weights

Thank you everyone for the motivation. I did a great workout yesterday and felt wonderful this morning (besides the sinus infection I have along with a clogged ear) but I weighed myself and I was at 168.5! That is 1.5 lbs down from yesterday. I know we shouldn't weigh ourselves everyday, I only did it today because I thought there must be something wrong with the scale yesterday. I had never been over 165! My menu today is going to be tough, I am in meetings all day today and then go to school tonight. I didn't plan very well today when I packed my lunch and dinner for today. Breakfast: 1 egg with salsa and 7-grain toast with a cup of coffee Snack: Edaname (soy beans) Lunch: Small portion of lasagna with small salad Snack: Orange Dinner: Have no idea yet... but I think I have a "smart ones" in the freezer here at work I can eat. |

I would love to join this support group, I need the motivation. I am a mother who can't ever find time for myself. I work full time and go to school, and the other days during the week that I don't go to school my daughter has dance, gymnastics. I really want to get this weight off. In January I started going to the gym 3-4 times a week on my lunch break to do cardio and am able to do weight training at home when my daughter goes to sleep. My problem is alcohol...I eat pretty good during the week but on the weekends I enjoy wine and beer especially when we socialize. Which we get together with friends often. As of today I have given up alcohol on a regular basis, I am ready to make the sacrifice, and will only drink occasionally. I am 26 years old I am 5'7'' and weigh as of today 170 ( I had a bad weekend) My goal weight is 145-150 but I would like to lose 15 lbs by July 4th. My menu today was: Breakfast: 1/2 cup skim milk, Special K cereal Snack: Can of beets Lunch: lean turkey patty, lettuce, tomato, red onion (no bun) with a lean cusine grilled chicken after the gym Snack: small package of cashews Dinner: stir fried veggies with brown rice I look forward to the motivation and support we can all provide each other. Are we going to do weekly weigh in's? I am new to this and not sure how it works. Oh yeah, I did the eliptical today for 30 mins, and going home to do weights for 30 mins and push ups and crunches.

I am up at 6:00, getting my 5 year old kindergartener ready for school, out the door by 7:30 to drop her off and get to work by 8:00. I work till 5:30 and am home after picking her up by 6:00. I have just enough time for a healthy dinner for us, bath, homework and reading. What I have found works, and I don't know if everyone can do this but it's just a suggestion; I found going at my lunch time helps. It is not taking any time away from my daughter, and I have an hour at lunch anyways. I have enough time to get to the gym, work out for 40 mins take a shower and get back to work. I eat at my desk while I work. It has been working out really well.. I know some of you are stay at home moms, so that might not work. |
