Hi group. I reported a low of 139 ten days ago, but have been back up to 141-142 since then. I figured this would happen and I am trying not to get discouraged. Today I felt thinner, so after work I weighed myself in at 140.5. I usually weigh in the morning, so I am thinking after the day's water and food 140.5 is pretty good. Maybe I'll be back under 140 soon. This is a critical time for me because at this weight I begin to feel comfortable and grow complacent, backsliding and NEVER losing that last ten pounds. So here I am reminding myself once again not to let it go. I am 130 bound!
~success to all! |

Thanks for the support, 140/130 club. It's super helpful. Back up to 141 today. Ah... that 139 was heavenly for those 30 seconds. I can't wait until my trend line gets below 140. Lucky you. The last two days, I think I have been having trouble meeting calories. I try to aim at 1500, but I may have made only 1200. I am actually getting a little sloppy on the calorie counting. I'm just not very hungry anymore. I try to eat a little something every 3 -4 hours. Best to all. |

Good morning, group. I was back up to 140.5 today from low of 139, but I figure that's to be expected and I keep saying to myself."Trending downward..." Last week, my ubiquitous black and brown work slacks were just feeling too big, so yesterday, I went out and bought new ones. I am a hippy gal, so my main problems are finding slacks that do not have side pockets and are slim enough through the thigh. The BEST are side zipper, but I don't find them often enough in my bargain basement stores: Marshalls, TJ Maxx, and yesterday Steinmart (having a really incredible 50% off 50% off sale). My favorite new weekend lunch: baked portabella cap with spinach and no fat spiced feta cheese. Delicious. Kroger sells these pre-prepared and they are not costly. Making them is a snap, too. Gearing up for pilates, lots of water, and good eating today. |

My body likes the 140s too. But, this morning, 139! I'm hopeful. It is very motivating to be under 140. |

Hey group. Scale was good today. 139.5. Yea. My highest was 157 (probably higher, but this was the weight when I was brave enough to get on the scale). I've been between 141 - 145 for two and a half years. I am determined to get to 130. It's hard because folks say "Why are you dieting? You don't need to lose any weight." But I am 5'3'' (46 year old). Even though I have been over 140 for more than 15 years, I feel like I should be 130. Thanks for *listening.* I really don't want to see 140 again, but I probably will tomorrow. :(

You are so right! I feel the same way. Thanks for making me feel better about myself. Some of the posts make me feel like a real loser.

Thanks, Elizabeth and Mike. I think you are exactly right. I need to find a substitute treat/ritual that will help me mark the end of my work day. I am going to do my best to try an herbal tea today. Ultimately, I would like to be as successful as you all in knocking out the habit. |

Thanks, all, for your helpful and thoughtful replies. I'm pretty convinced that the wine issue is part of a daily pattern that I can break with more will power and dedication. For instance, if I am out of my daily work-to-home routine (like when visiting my sister over the holidays) I did not drink. This suggests to me that the drinking is habit/pleasure/stress relief more than disease Those of you who point out the health concerns and the disproportionate consumption of wine calories to food calories are perfectly correct, of course This is not good at all and I knew this before I posted! Just thought that confession might help combat resistance to change and denial. Best, Sasacaro

I do not believe that doctor who said meds will not make you gain weight, but will only make you hungrier. BUNK. BUNK. BUNK. I gained 25 pounds on SSRI antidepressants. No change in eating habits. Lost 20 of it very swiftly about eight months after I stopped taking Lexapro (15 years on SSRI antidepressants, I might add). No change in eating habits. Now I take Wellbutrin which operates with different chemicals. I still need to lose ten - fifteen pounds, but I don't think that's Wellbutrin's fault. |
