Health & Support Lost 9lbs in 17 days? Is that unhealthy? May 07 2008

Original Post by meganmudge:

No offense, but you drink every day???

Some people have a beer or drink a glass of wine with dinner on a daily basis.

To the original poster: Are you excessively overweight? Usually those who have the most weight to lose tend to lose the initial weight a bit faster.

You'll be fine. The only thing it will do is change the date of your next period to 4 weeks from now (at least that's with Ortho, not sure about Marvelon). Remember, though, that the pills technically will not be effective until after one month of taking them.

I don't see how it could possibly be bad for you as long as you're eating your recommended caloric intake and eating good, nutritious food. I think it would just be a pain to sit and eat every waking hour, but if it works, I think it's great! Good luck!

Just wanted to chime in and add that if you started at 286.80 four days ago and are now 284.60, that is a weight loss of nearly 2 pounds in less than a week. I would call that progress. Smile

Perhaps you should only weigh yourself once a week instead of everyday. I think it would give you a better overall outlook on your weightloss. Best of luck!

Health & Support Bad Cholesterol 11.42???????? im 25 Apr 06 2008

Like nycgirl said, I'm also not sure what the "11.42" number means, but I was told I had high cholesterol of 212 when I was 21 years old (at my lowest weight, eating very healthy). I was actually anemic at that time too, so it didn't make sense to me that my cholesterol could be high. Then I found out that the women in my family happen to have a higher genetic tendency toward higher cholesterol. I know that there is a prescription for genetic hypercholesteremia, but I have not taken it. I'm not sure if that would help in your case, but there are other prescriptions for high cholesterol, including Lipitor. If you are eating healthier lately, have your cholesterol rechecked to see if your healthy habits helped. If not, be sure to speak with your doctor about options.

And I have never heard of anyone dying from high cholesterol itself, but I do know that it can lead to things like heart disease, etc., so be sure to take care of yourself! Best of luck!

I don't think the CC weight includes the peel either. I always go by weight as well. Had a 99-gram banana today (without the peel), and CC said 88 calories for that.

I always lose in the ribcage first, right under my bust. I don't know why, but I always know when I've lost a pound or two because I have to use the next bra hook (and vice versa if I gain weight).

you can also add a little bit of sugar-free cherry or strawberry jello mix to it before it sets for a nice, fruity treat for only about 5 extra calories. Cool

Pregnancy & Parenting What has your pregnancy weight gain/loss been like? (During and After pregnancy) Mar 27 2008
19:37 (UTC)
11

I was about 125 when I got pregnant with twins. I gained considerably (more than I should have, really, but I quit smoking when I got pregnant, so I substituted it with food) and was up to 208 on the day I delivered. However, I did have a lot of water retention. When I got home, I was 193; two weeks later I was 172. At that point, I started eating healthier and getting a little exercise when I could. I got down to 155 six weeks postpartum. After a lot of work, I finally got back down to 130 about 5 months after delivery. I stayed at that weight for a while, but then went back up to around 135-138 and stayed there for a year and a half. Two months ago, I quit smoking again and gained back another 10 lbs. So here I am at 145 (maybe a bit less; I haven't weighed myself yet this week). My goal is to get back to my prepregnancy weight of 125, but my real goal is 115 because I know that is where I really should be.

Congrats on your quit! I have been quit since January 30, almost two months now. The first month I gained about 8 pounds because I substituted food for cigarettes. Now that I've finally beat the urge to smoke, I decided to better my health even further by getting back into shape. Best wishes to everyone who has quit or is in the process of. Quitters really do win! That has been my motto for a while now. Cool

Yep, it seems like he definitely likes you, no doubt about that. He probably never showed interest before because he knew you were underage and "off limits." Looks like you've got a gentleman there.

I agree with the previous posters; you are not eating enough calories for your new exercise regimen. Try upping your calorie intake an extra 200 cals or so per day and see if that helps. An extra serving of dairy or lean meat per day would probably help push your cals up a bit.

Hmm, okay. I missed where you said it was loose tea. And, yes, if it contains cocoa and milk, I would assume there have to be some calories too. Probably not that many, but some nonetheless. I hope the company replies to your email Smile
