GOOD!Well, not good, but I thought I was just a freak of nature haahaha. I'm not skinny but I'd say I'm lean-5'7 130 lbs. I'm very athletic and yet no matter what exercise I do, I have a super slim top and long legs, and then I wear a swimsuit and people are suddenly SHOCKED to find quite a large butt in comparison to the rest of my body. It makes it so hard to buy clothes-sometimes I think it's that way b/c I work out a lot so it....stays quite perky?! Lol! But yes-I started at 138 and after 3 months nothing. I'll find I have one bad day of eating and the scale goes right back if not over. sigh. O well-I figure I'd rather have a nice round bottom than be bigger on top! |

Well I've made a pact! With myself...that since the 4th is only 12 DAYS AWAY (yes gasp haha) I am going to stay strong every day until then. Up until this pt it seems that I could go a few days going off track or scheduling cheat days to help me along but I figure this is the time to tell myself I've only got 12 days and I can prove to myself I can make any goal I put my mind(and body) to! So-I even got out my journal this morning and made a lil 12 day calendar to mark off each day. More importantly-how I'll achieve the goal each day. Maybe give it a try too! It's been working for me for the last 4 days? haha so that's something! We're so close guys! |

hey guys!Well I'm definitely sticking to my diet but I just know I'm in a stupid plateau! SO frustrating!!! I am considering maybe cutting BACK on exercise-crazy as it sounds, but I remember for some reason that I always tend to lose weight when I'm not working out...hmmm...I have no other ideas. I also thought that when the 4th comes around, this group will end?! That is not cool! lol I finally have my lil group here:( |

Well I must say I've been following my diet to a T. In fact-I even scheduled a cheat day that just keeps getting pushed back b/c I can't seem to find the cravings! Today I was finally going to cheat but I had one square of dark chocolate and that was it. Actually, I'm kinda sad lol I know i love food but after a while you get used to the lesser amount? Anyways, so yes, I'm on track but worried I'm not losing and then wondering if anyone has really had experience with the whole starvation mode thing or if it's just a myth? |

well...I had a little triumph today! I couldn't find my jeans for work so I was expecting to force myself into my pre-college work pants. SURPRISE-they went ON!They're not perfect but I'm def not far! I was in shock b/c it felt like I was stalled for weeks and now suddenly I dropped 5 lbs over night! Maybe that whole sick thing really did do something haha. Very motivating though. I treated myself to a new hot sports bra which I'm wearing now to go to my dance class....I'll update on my meal plan later. Stay strong through the day everybody-think a/b the forum when those chips in the pantry are calling your name...:P |

hey speaking of swiming susieq-maybe you can help me...I've been wanting to try swimming for a while to break up my routine. Thing is, I'm really kinda intimidated a/b jumpin into the pool with all the other lap swimmers. I would have NO CLUE what I'm doing! Do you guys have any suggestions as to an order of exercises you do in the pool or do people share a lane? haha I have no idea! |

well, my only update is I AM WELL!:D Took a good week on the dot haha but the cleared sinus is definitely enough for me to celebrate!....with a workout class:P You're feeling better krenren? I'll update you guys now that my diet will be back to normal, regular temperature people food haha |

awww thanks for all the get well wishes you guys! Well, I can't say I feel 100 % (it's been going for a friggin week!) but the flu symptoms are gone so I'm still really taking it easy and taking lots of the basic cold syrups to get rid of the sinus stuff. And based on what I've heard it's really going around! I hope you feel better krenren! There's people all over the site saying they're feeling under the weather! wierd huh? Diet has been pretty minimal food choice and probably calorie wise, but I haven't really moved much either. Kinda bummed b/c I know it will be hard to get well physically too. I'm feeling well enough to walk today though so I'm going to later. Plan today(all hot foods!): B: Oatmeal and greek yogurt s: coffee w/ soy L: vegetable soup w/ ww toast s: goldfish and latte D: baked sweet potato and grilled chicken |

Omg!!! Great idea on the drink desirees! I'm such a crystal light freak I can't believe I didn't think of that one. Do you pour a packet just into the vodka or do you use a certain amount of water with crystal light and the vodka? I had a rough weekend. I'm VERY sick:( Went to the minute-clinic this morning and found out it's surprisingly an ear infection-it's actually supposed to last a few more days even w/ the antiobiotics URGHhhhh. But my fever has died down which is good. Exercise is basically rolling out of my bed to replace the tissue box lol. I think you're supposed to stay really hydrated but I've never wanted water less in my entire life b/c my throat hurts SO bad. so yea. I feel really off track with this but hey-this is def a shake up in my normal routine!:/ |

hey guys! tried on my favorite pair of pants today....and they went on just right! I was so happy! They were skin tight a/b 3 weeks ago! I still need a little more room in them...I was SUPER dehydrated/bloated this morning which I'm sure is the result of nothing but alcohol and diet soda so late at night. I had a blast! And thanks for the info guys-my girlfriends were so appreciative to know the lower-calorie drink option when I brought the necessary ingredients. Feeling ahhhh not as great today haha but meal plan is going great and I'm just trying to drink a lot of water to get my energy back. I'm also taking a day of rest today-I did some pilates this morning and I feel good. Susieq! So inspiring! That's awesome. |

Hey yall. Elizajk-I could be wrong but unfortunately I think they really are that high in calories. I used to get these AMAZING veggie bbq ribs at my univeristy and we found out that one serving had 450 calories(it's the sauce:( Krenren-I say walking! Walking can get such a bad rap-I have a friend who...I'm sorry to say can annoy me b/c all she ever talks a/b is a new 'health' book she bought and how she doesn't want to 'waste' a work out that could be spent jogging. I TOTALLY disagree! Esp if it's nice outside, give your shins a break, contract your core and have a long brisk walk. Change things up too:) I broke my plan yesterday-bummer. Still ate maintenence and since I'm eating all non-processed stuff and taking lots of new gym classes, I'm pretty happy with just feeling better and healthier:) I do think I might have lost though b/c my booty is looking firm! Oh! Question! I'm having a little funnn night planned with the girls and...there will probably being a few drinks involved..I'm setting aside a little room for some but I'd like to keep the cals to a min-anyone have the best ideas? |

Well-I joined the gym! I don't know how the hell I'll be affording it but my parents surprised me with announcing they'll pay half of each monthly dues:D I went there first thing this morning for a group class and I LOVED it. Very motivating to know I'll have something different going on for the future. Diet's going well but I just don't feel like I'm in burn mode...a lot of work outs are much easier for me now that I've really pushed myself and I'm still worried I'm not getting enough calories. Still-today's menu:) pre-breakfast: plain yogurt with raw sugar breakfast: Half blueberry bagel w/ Greek yogurt (instead of cream cheese-you gotta try it!) and an iced skim latte lunch: strawberry protein shake and oatmeal snack: frozen banana dipped in dark chocolate pudding Dinner: grilled mahi-mahi (single servings-you can get them at costco), asparagus w/ a lil evoo, wheat toast dessert: baked apple It's only 1250 calories....I did the 60 min workout class and I power-walked for a/b 25 mins post-lunch. Am I eating too few? I still find it hard to believe in a starvation mode but they say you shouldn't eat below BMR. |

hey guys-so, I'm finding that I tend to stick to my calorie goal MUCH closer when I go pretty low-carb. I'm usually pretty anti-low carb just b/c I'd get sick of all the fad diets going around...but it seems like the only days where I can get into fat loss mode is when I'm really cutting carbs. I really don't get hungry either. I wonder if it has something to do with the fact that I'm hypoglycemic, but I've always been told that grains (as long as their whole) should help me stabalize my blood sugar...but I literally don't feel hungry when I avoid the breads and crackers. As long as I stay within my 1300-1450 calorie goal I might stick with this mostly high protein diet....but if I crave bread for one second then I'll have it or I'll go rebellious! |

Hey guys! So our group has been pretty eye-catching b/c I could barely find it with all the new (similar) ones that popped up over the last few days! Soooo...yesterday, I realize I had one CRAZY physical day! To start, I lifted weights for 20 mins and then did 5 min. sprints throughout for a total of 30 min. cardio. Later I met a friend and we walked briskly in the beautiful weather for 25 mins and at night (I thought my day was ending...) I did my 15 min pilates/abs dvd. Well, ten min. later I was out the door going clubbing with my bffs-SO glad I went SUCH a blast. But now I know why i'm so tired! I mean, we danced for at least 2 1/2 hours straight and you sweat like crazy! Therefore I def underate yesterday so I might take it easy today and eat around 1400. Still not getting on that scale yet...good luck guys! |

hey team! I got home today-O.m.g-6 hour drive really takes a toll on your bum! I feel more tired after sitting all day! But now it's GORGEOUS and I'm just going to take a leisurely walk! I feel good just knowing I'm going to get outside and not work out strenuously-b/c....I did SO well on my get-away! haha I'm so shocked and feel amazing! Not only did I eat 1250-1350 cals a day, I snuck in two 12 (yes 12...) minute work out sessions each day!Not much-but it felt great b/c I just got myself moving when I stuck to clean eating so well! I couldn't believe it-I thought I would totally pig out when really-if there's nothing to snack on in my hotel room haha I guess I wouldn't eat then! I even ate the roadstop Mcdonalds salads and Wendy's chili. Today I came back and felt so good that I indulged at dinner and it felt worth it! I think it might even help me change it up-my metabolism could use a rev after 4 days low cal. I really am pretty proud-can you tell? ;) keep going guys! |

Spending a weekend with my mom not only shows how differently we eat, but it also showed me how she seems to be one of those people that's in complete denial of where her weight problem comes from. She kept complaining how she might never lose weight and going on and on why I don't indulge in the cupcakes she bought when I said I'd rather have a few dark chocolate kisses, (which I really would!). I explained to her how your tastebuds adapt to like the things your body truly needs and craves, but of course she just said it was b/c I was wierd and didn't know what I was talking a/b. It's sad b/c I love my mom, but she is really one of those people that doesn't see how the calories she eats stack up-she's def not obese, just overweight, and she eats normal portions of everything but her view of healthy food is so skewed. However, I don't know a/b you guys, but I like having a mom who doesn't know a lot about nutrition and who's always telling me I don't need to watch my weight then a mom who would be making me feel like I need to be on a crazy diet. It's like a reassurance she thinks I'm beautiful inside and out:) |

hey melliot! I am hypoglycemic and we didn't discover this until I was about 13 years old and started crying and fainting from headaches from a can of pop! So first, if you truly think you may be hypoglycemic, I would talk to your doctor to check it out and they'd give you precautions and stuff-otherwise, everyone can take steps to prevent low blood sugar! Here's what I go by: 1. eat often, it's true. I find regardless of how many meals I'm eating I have to keep something in my purse always in case I feel a dip in my sugar (fruit is best b/c it works fast!). 2-make sure you don't skimp on GOOD carbs-complex carbs literally carry you through the day, esp sweet potatoes and whole wheat bread. 3. on that note, NO white sugar! Now, there's def time for celebration and cake but if you don't have to have it, don't eat things that are basic pure sugar (ie, pop as opposed to ice cream which does have dairy and a little protein). 4. take amidday nap- reenergizes you! Hey! 20 here! Well..ALMOST 20, birthday sooooo soon! I'm glad someone created this group! ' what motivates you to loose the weight*: I put on 12 pounds in ONE (last) semester at college! Freshman 15? No one warned me a/b sophomore 15! have you lost any yet?I'm def easily effected by the number on the scale if I don't see progress-and I actually saw that I've GAINED 3 pounds, but I know I'm losing inches b/c I was training pretty hardcore for 5 months and know I put on a lot of muscle....which I'm actually trying to take it easy to lose a little bit so I'm not as bulky in the legs.
* how long have you been on the site-HAHA-would you believe I started off on this site for tips to gain weight in the healthiest way possible? I always felt a little awkward a/b my body (5'7 110-114lbs). Fast forward one year lata, 5'7-130 pounds! Now...I'm just trying to find that middle ground.. |

eeek-I fell of the wagon yesterday. But hey, at least it was worth it! Still, I wish I could have saved my treat day for my little trip, but that's ok I guess. I leave late tonight and I guess they have a fabulous salad bar which is good! Actually, I'm one of those people that tends to eat much better on vacations b/c I'm out doing stuff and don't exactly feel like stuffing my face when family/friends are around. Anyone else like that? So many people eat poorly when they're out but I only eat badly when I'm at home! Still...I'm scared, I might cut out some of my carby snacks (goldfish and almonds)-I feel like I need to do something to change it up and shock my system. |

Dodgeram-I highly recommend work out tapes-even for people who already do other exercise, I find there are some days where I just physically don't want to leave my house! lol I've tried a few and my favorites are 'The Firm' calorie boot camp (for cardio) and the Pilates tape of the 10-Minute Solution series. Especially the pilates b/c it comes with it's own stretchy band and it helps me take a break from cardio! Which speaking of, has anyone ever taken a break from exercise and actually lost weight? I just feel like maybe I need a break and then I'll see a change... |

I finally tried these today after hearing so much a/b them!...I have to say, while I love all things tofu and soy and well, everything!...I did NOT like these noodles:/ They also gave me a bad stomach 'writestuff'! I was so bummed b/c I had finally found them haha but hey go ahead and try them, I think trying to make a speghetti was a bad choice so I might try the mac n cheese, that way it's saltier. |

yay! Today was day 4 for me! haha I know it doesn't sound like much but I feel like the second and third days were the hardest! I think if I can keep the momentum this shouldn't be too bad... and today I had scheduled a treat but all I wanted was fruit! It's like you start craving what your body needs. cool huh? |

I'm 5'7, 132 lbs and a size 2. I'm a 4 though in some Gap jeans which is wierd b/c it used to be the other way down. Before I started training/weight lifting I was 116 pounds and a 0. So yea! Lot of room for one pant size! |

I'm going to weigh in every other week-but knowing me, I'm going to weigh in MONDAY b/c I think it would make me to NOT want to pig out on the weekends if I have to be accountable that morning. GAH-i wrote up a meal plan and I'm shocked how when you're eating clean how little calories things have! Anyone ever notice that you actually eat less quantity wise and now it seems like you eat all the time but just way less cals? crazy. Ok plan: breakfast: greek yogurt and an apple with small skim iced latte (260 cals) snack: parmesan goldfish (140) lunch: going to try those Tofu noodles finally!-1/2 cup mushroom sauce, cheese, veggies, pudding cup (200!) snack: protein shake w/ skim milk and a kiwi (200) Dinner: Chipotle with friends, burrito bowl w/ beans, chicken, veggies (~400) I'm feeling really run down today and it's crappy out so I might not exercise, just a little stretching and a nice soak in the bathtub. That's still only a/b 1100 cals for today...but I won't be working out? Maybe b/f bed I'll have a mini-popcorn bag. |
