A warm hello goes out to Mrs.Dustbagc.  I see you've dropped about 29 pounds

Since September.  You deserve it with all you've done to get there!  I put your

Name with the others who've made it over to Onderland.  Thats on page 1.

I guess you all will work on getting out of the 190's next.   must be nice!

HI JR
. & WOW on your 7# drop & into Onderland.

Well, the past 2 days I've had Pms fits

now I'm About to go log my calories for a pint of vanilla french

pot ice-cream.  And this morning chocolate cake.  wow!

To think I didn't have any sugar for over a month and now this.

It sorta makes me ready for something stricter again.

So, perhaps my two day adventure was fun and motivating to press on.

Yeah, that's the ticket.

Great Job to you two reaching onderland.  I appreciate the details of HOW

you got there and the discipline required.  Part of me thinks it's too strict.

I was happy losing my 10lbs a year with something I could 'live' with but

when I see you all dropping it like it's Hot I want a piece of the action.

In the winter I like to focus on being extra healthy so that when Spring breaks

out I'm more ready for it.

Thanks for sharing as you never know who you are encouraging.  *coughs* me!

Sounds good 2BB.

I'm focused on the home this month!  So far so good!

I'm recalling an old book of how to run a household back in the 1800's and back

then they took cleaning to a serious level.  Or at least in book form they did.

I have a stack of old books concerning the household.  I find it so interesting.

Often they took in young ppl to help out.

I have an old book as told by a butler.  I find it all so interesting.

I adore old movies.  I find it glamorous & Romantic.

December is going to be different for me.  Change is Fun.

I'm feeling easy going.

With cleaning and celebrating on my mind.

I don't think I'm going to do my typical exercise routine.  Only occasional

night walks to see the lights.  I like fresh air.

I'm not worried about sugar this month.  Been having dark chocolate with

coffee each morning.

I know I'll return to both working out and no sugar policy soon enough.

I will still count calories here at CC.  Or at least try to!  I like locating that!

I make no promises.

I hope any lurkers know I wish them peace and joy along with a big dose of

Good health!  A New Year 2009 ....smiling.

2BB your so right when you say to think about the issues down the road...

concerning our health.  I agree that an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure.

Hi Marisuke

Your plan sounds real good.  Thanks for sharing.  I'm happy for you!!Smile

I'm still amazed at your fast results.  What you lose in a month is what I lose

In a year.

How far is your walk to work?

What do you do at the gym everyday?

I wonder what you burn everyday.  Sounds like plenty.

Are you ever hungry?

Do you drink plenty of water?

Working with Special Children would be a workout in itself. wow.

Why do you think you were over weight?

Personally I do not drink pop or go to fast food places.  I really haven't most

Of my Adult life.  Say age 14-41.  Growing up we did.   I buy everything from

the health food store.

Well that's enough questions for now.

Again Congratulations on 197.  I wonder if you will drop another ten in Dec?

Same here 2BB I'm Spring cleaning even though it's Winter.

Gonna clean like this for the entire month of Dec.

Putting my traditional exercises on hold.

I'm dedicating 5 or 6 hours each day just on one room. It's fun.

I don't believe what CC tells me when I punch in the hours of house cleaning.

It seems much harder to work out 30 minutes on my elliptical than cleaning

a room at a slow pace for 5 or 6 hours.  Do you have any thoughts on this?

I punched in even less time and it still said I burned up over 1k calories.

I just find it HARD to believe.

I began this  cleaning project 2 days ago.

I may run this cleaning idea into January.

I have a basement full of stuff that needs to be dealt with.

Mean while I'm going to continue tracking my calories.

It's the only way to really know what I'm doing.

I LOVE how at the end of the month you can quickly find out how many

calories you averaged.  Love that tool here at CC.

2BB if you have any advice for me feel free to send me a note.

I know You work with a nutritionist and so any insight is appreciated.

If you need some stats I'll send you the info.

Yesterday I found out my avg calories for November and it was 1920 avg.

Which was the same number for October.

I had 5 celebration days in November which means I had sugar those days.

I considered  November to be a good month.

As far as weight loss I can't tell b/c I'm up 3 for my typical Tthom time.

It appears I have kept off the 6 or 7 I lost in October.

Although, it was a recent gain I was glad to get it back off.

Mid way October Is when I began tracking my calories.

That's also when I decided to drop sugar and up exercise.

Those two weeks I did do 90 minutes of exercises.

Then when the cold weather came I noticed I was dropping that evening

30 minute walk and now that is only a memory.  But I tracked it and see that

It did work well in October.   I'll have those notes to fall back on.

In October I avg. 1900 calories just like November I avg. 1900 calories.

I probably (haven't calculated exaxtly)  burn 500 calories a day w/exercise.

I realize I have to exercise b/c I'm not willing to stop eating when I'm hungry.

I eat when I'm truly hungry and I eat healthy.  Makes sense to me.

My motto: No sugar and try to move more seems smart.  Sugar hurts the

Immune system and it's not healthy.  However, on celebration days sugar

happens and I enjoy it.  Makes it more special.

I feel this is something I could live with.

It has brought me slow results.

I'm hoping for 10-12 pounds in the year of 2009.

Which means by next year I will finally be out of the 200's.

I'm weighing in at 209 and up 3 right now with tthom about to arrive.

I have two scales and one weighs me less but I take the highest number now.

I've mentioned lower weights this past year from that lower weighing scale.

Starting this new year I won't ever refer to that lower weighing scale again.

If I see 10-12 pounds come off in 2009 then I'll know I'm onto something good.

Something I can live with that's for sure.

That's been my pattern now for the past 2 years.  In two years I've lost 20lbs.

I feel I need another year to verify this is working.  That I'm loosing about

a pound a month.  I can't speak for you other ladies but two weeks out of the

4 our tied up with ttom.  Meaning I don't see any results on that scale.

I've noticed here at the Going4Gold Gang many drop out or what not...

Even over at the Burn the Bridge Gang not a lot of communication

This time of year anyway and I can see why.  So much going on.

Life can be busy and it's a BIG commitment to daily log calories & communicate

on line with others.  Who knows I may drop out too but I know that it seems

I'll never stop seeking to get to a normal weight.  In a normal way.  determined

Nothing extreme b/c all my life I did extreme diets and I'm never going to do

them again.  shaking my head NO WAY.   They don't work.  It's stupid.

I'm just willing to figure this out the right way.

I'm off now to CLEAN.

I was about to post my post and to my surprise I see Marisuke.

I'll post your name on page 1 at the bottom.

Seems the party died around here.

Maybe this is just a busy time of year!

But I keep plugging along.

I just had fun hitting the analyze button to get my avg. calories for November.

I began logging every bite Mid October.  both months I've avg. 1900 calories.

Keep in mind I have days I do less and days I do more.  That's my avg.

Marisuke what is your avg. calories each day?  It's Monday and I just checked

Ur profile and it says you've lost 43 pounds in only 4mths.  I'm a diet expert

and the ONLY time I lost that much weight in one month was from not eating.

So, you must have an amazing metabolism to drop that much weight so quickly.

I'm curious what you did to accomplish this.  Share with the rest of us when

you can.

Had a wonderful Thanksgiving Meal with family and new family members.

Sofine-Safina I had the BEST pumpkin cake ever!

I made gravy for the first time in my life.  I've always had two grandmothers and

a mother who did it all....but this year I helped out some new family members.

I have a deep desire to cook well but b/c I'm always dieting I never got into

these type of dishes.  And my mate prefers healthy over traditional dishes.

Bought some more dark chocolate today.  85% I have it with black coffee :)))

Just took the time to log it.

tired today and didn't work out.  I may get a night walk in if I can find anyone

to go with me.  If not I'm not concerned with taking another day off from it.

I was shocked to learn of the man who had the life knocked out of him at

Walmart.  Can't imagine.

Well, next up is finalizing Christmas Gifts.  I have a few parties to attend.

Only one water bottle so far today.  I guess I'll go drink another one now.

And one more b4 bed.  So many disciplines.

Yeah I agree about the exercise part.

I told myself and made a mental note (I make mental notes of things and I

rarely forget them...it's like I brand myself some how)

That if I'm going to eat 1700-1900 calories I need to burn some up.

I'm not willing to eat less if I need it.

I'd rather get busy.  I have endurance for long work outs but not super fast

Like I once was.  Still no complaints.

Gee, I didn't realize today was a year!  So nice of you 2BB to recall this factoid.

I was 10-12 lbs heavier a year ago.

enjoyed reading ur menu.  Sounds good and healthy.

I've been making myself walk an hour and I admit I do like it.

Not sure why I have the initial struggle.  Oh yeah, I prefer company.

But I love the outdoors.

I'm still tracking myself.  I see 1600-1700 calorie days and burning 300-500

calories with exercise.  Been getting B's not A's here at CC.

Been thinking tonight how this time of the year I like making juices.

I use carrot, kale and grapefruits.  The grapefruit is separate.

so, I might do that soon.

Perhaps, after Thanksgiving.

I'm sugar free but I had some saltines tonight with some coleslaw I made.

Crackers are basically a sugar.  They turn into it.  So, that was not smart

but occasionally I have a few crackers.  Seems this time of year they are

nice with soup and such.  So, I know there are healthier versions so I should

seek them out.

All n All I seem to be on course.

I enjoyed egg whites today.  Sofine-Safina mentioned that to me and I've

had them twice now.

I had a Thomas bagel and they make them now with 10g of protein.

I don't consider them a health food item AT all but boy they are good.

I've allowed that twice this week.

I weigh in on Mondays.

I guess that's my report.

2BB has me thinking about greens.

Night and

Happy Thanksgiving to the Gang!

Hello Bridge Burners.

Everyone is a little too quiet.  I do realize this time of year is busy.

I had a 4 day celebration period for my Birthday and I picked up 2lbs from that.

It's Monday and I see I managed to rid myself of 1 of the 2.

This morning I reflected over my past 2 years of dieting as a lifestyle and not

another hard diet that only fails.   I see it's been a slow process.  About 10

pounds a year so far is my avg.  I was hoping for 12 pounds a year.

Now that i see that pattern.  Will it be another year before I'm out of the 200s

Oh my I just can't except that.  If I'm hovering around 209/210 and given my

past two year history that would be accurate.  ayayayayay

If I really thought I'd eventually get to where I want to be with my weight

I really don't care if it took me 5 years.  I would enjoy the downward spiral.

I'd be at mid-life and ready for the 2nd half at a proper weight.

Hang In there!  We gotta do it!

Hi Gang

It can be tough to see slow results and not to mention holiday celebrations

which delay our results.

I reflected over the past 2 years this morning concerning any weight loss

success I've had.  It's been pretty slow.  I'd say 10 pounds for each year.

Hoping for 12 a year.

My exercise program recently took a nose dive.  Gotta work on that.

I've got my no sugar policy working for me.  pats myself on back.

I still log it all to locate truth.  Finding that interesting.  Like a scientist.

I guess I should GO make myself exercise.

Good to hear from you SS.  Your food choices sound healthy.  I'd rather

Pay for healthy food than pay a doctor to tell me I'm sick.

And glad to know boots is eating her veggies. I personally know that works!

I wonder if I'll work out today.  I need to.  I know it's a key for so many things.

I did just that 2BB.

I've not been out to shop but I heard Saturdays are super busy.

Monday is a better choice.

I guess ppl. who work all week then go out on the weekends.

I like doing the opposite.

Even if I eat out I like to go on nonweekend days.

However, I love eating dinner out on a Sunday night.  It's on the quiet side.

We saw a movie last Monday and there were only 15 ppl.

I have two pomegranates in the house.  I've had them b4 but I wonder if

there is a proper way to eat them?  Do you know?

I have some grapefruits I need to juice up in ball jars.  I like serving that

at breakfast.

Personal note (laughing at myself b/c I sounded like that animated 'salad fingers' ..at breakfast. )

Tip of the day for Sunday:  have a pretty pan out w/ladle for soup ready to use.

Seems everyone likes soup.  I have it set and it's attractive.

Convenient.  I like to sometimes set butter out for those brave enough.

With crackers or a good bread.  On the other hand I like oil dips too.

I've been craving chili with the works.  Undecided

Hi Pennosh

I enjoyed your note here.  Thank You for sharing.  Now my curiosity is up about

the hormone in protein that may trigger weight loss.  If that exists sounds nice.

To which I say 'hip' hip horray.

I do know you want to avoid homosistine found in 'meat' AT least day in & day

out.  On a few occasions who cares.  Same with 'phosphates' found in pop.

Both create an atmosphere that cancer likes to thrive in.

I wanted sugar like the rest of the ppl. here tonight and

instead I opted for clementines.  Good choice.  Too Good.

Had a day of errands and grocery shopping so I didn't exercise.

I had 1471 calories which included 45 calories from my teaspoon of lemon

cod liver oil.  A healthy fat.  Everyone should take cod liver oil or fish oil.

Especially heart patients.  It's a magic bullet.  Some time I'll show a list of

what it does for you.  Recently, one of the oldest ladies alive today

mentioned some things she does daily.  One was a cheap version of fish oil

she drank Olive oil.  She drank a glass of wine a day (I do both of those)

She was never stressed out and she rode her bike daily.  I believe she is

116 now?  Something to consider!  Of course she had good genes.

What I'm doing:
Eat when hungry.
Eat only healthy
Exercise 60-90 minutes a day (falling short)
Drink plenty water
Fish oil
Vitamins
No SUGAR

'Non' work out days I have 1400-1500
Work out days I have 1900-2k
I burn 500-600 during my workouts.
On the few pms days I do eat more calories due to low blood sugar/hormonal and so I eat healthy but way more on those days.  Since I log everything I hope to see a pattern of how many days this is and when.  I'm hopping it's
like a 3 day event.

I log every thing to locate my truth.

Next up is Thanksgiving and it seems all that food has hidden sugar in it.
I'll go with the flow but return to my non sugar habit the very next day.

Good Afternoon Gang

Pennosh...I'm now curious how tall you are b/c if your working out say burning 500 or 600 calories and you consume 1600 calories on those days you work out that's a bit low in calories. That would put you at 1k or 11oo once you burn up that many calories.  Make sense?

Unless, ur 5'2" tall?   My understanding is that no one should consume less than 1200 calories a day.

If you exercise you get to eat moreLaughing

What are your thoughts on this process?  And I'm in no way trying to change your program.  If you find something that works and your happy MAN go with it.

I will hunt down that Newmans' Lime.  4 sure.   His products are healthy.

I love looking at what your doing.  I love insight.  I appreciate your plan I was just curious if you thought you were getting enough healthy fats?

Like Avocados. I personally like getting my omegas by fish oil, cod liver oil, eggs or wild salmon and don't forget nuts.

I'm with you...
I want it badly but for me I'm trying to make cuts I can live with.  I focus on eating extremley healthy things and cutting out the obvious.  I eat when I'm hungry and count the calories.

lately, my calories are higher than they've ever been b/c I'm no longer 'thinking'
1200 or 1300 or 1400 calories and that's it.  My approach is different now.
And it's my own expeirment.  Eat healthy.  Eat when hungry.  Cut out the bad.
Up the exercise.  See what happens.  This is my newest expeirment.

I got side tracked 4 days but I'm back on track.  Had some celebrating going on.

HI Fluffy

That's so cute having a goal outfit.  For me to think down to a size 8 is too far
fetched for me.  In my diet days of my past I did it all the time.  But that is not realistic for me to do anymore.  Been there done that.  Too many times I might add.  With unrealistic dieting.  Now, I'm looking for " lifestyle ".  It's a slower process.

My mind would be thrilled to know end if I lost 12 pounds every year.
Until I get where I want to be.  So, as you can see my size 14's will do me fine for a while.  Seems they fit me no matter what...through thick and thin.  I could find something snug now couldn't I.  I have a pair of size 12 jeans that I really like and I put them on the other day and they were snug.  Got them on & zipped but they were snug.  That could be a fun way to gage my progress.  So, that will be my garmet i'll use to watch myself!

I'm acting like I have tons of time today and I so don't so I gotta run for now.

I did enjoy hearing about what your doing and it does inspire me.  THat's what's good about this.  Being around like minded ppl. with similar goals.

Your bed time snack sounds like something I'd like.   I usually do a perfect pear w/cottage cheese.

Yes, wok veggies I get in me twice a week.  I love it too.   I'm not familiar with Satsumas?!  sounds more like Japanese than Louisiana.

Have you heard any news from KK.

I enjoyed my 1st intake.
Ezekiel Toast with
Avocado.
red onion.
basil leaves.
farmers market tomato. (you can get them up until Thanksgiving time).
Extra virgin olive oil mayo made by Hellmans (not as good as the original).  Natural mustard from health food store.

I have celery and radishes in the house but I have not cleaned them up and once I do I'll add that back into my routine.

So, 2BB I'm getting back to what worked on my 1st month.  My 4 days of sugar are behind me.

I need to do that 2BB and I also need to Up my raw veggie intake.  I was scoring A's and now lately B's.

What do you use for mud or do you use like a Mushroom compose?  Do, you get it in small bags or what?

I'd like to learn to make a tasty & healthy salad dressing.  I've got one on my mind.  A vinaigrette which includes cilantro but I don't know the ratios.
Not sure when I'll accomplish that but it was on my mind.

I don't know if your eating an apple a day but I've been doing that well over
a month now.  I prefer it as my last snack of the day.  I was playing cards/hearts last night and had a nice organic apple and added a protein with it.   Good.

I'm in for a quiet day.  I'll embrace it while it lasts b/c late tonight noise returns.
I will clean house which I prefer to do in a quiet atmosphere.  No one in my way. Quiet days are rare for me.

Hi Pennosh

When and if you find time I'd like to see one of your favorite days worth of fiddles.

Also, if you exercise (do u)? Then do you eat more than that 1200 calories?

Hi 2BB and whomever is reading.

I'm here to admit I've tasted sugar 4 days in a row.  Not a lot.  Just not what I had planned. Off to log it..Over all doing good.  Still determined.

wow 2BB Congratulations.  Hope your feeling better.  I had to get my two

products out again myself and they work like a charm for me.  Almost Instant!

Well, today I will regroup from celebrating.  I have other celebrations on my

calendar for this month.  Two more to go.  On all the inbetween days it's back

to business.  I had movie theatre popcorn last night with good and plenty.

That's an amazing combo.  Turns out Walgreen's had little boxes just like the

theater.  I went there in hopes of finding good n plenty.  They don't have it

at the theatre but Walgreen's had it for a buck.  I guess I had a handfull and

threw the entire box away.  I consumed about 1/3 of my med. sized popcorn

threw the rest away.  I can't imagine eating all of that.  But then again

we had a fine dinner at 20Brix just prior to the flick.

We saw the new James Bond Movie and I didn't like it.  Nice scenery though.

I feel they fell way short.  Not believable.

The sun is out and I must say I welcome it.

Gonna work out and eat healthy today.

I want to improve on my water.  I think I should drink a tad more.

I'm off to log calories I forgot to log.

Hope you have a Terrific Tuesday 2BB and to all Lurkers!!

Hi Pennosh.

I see you've had success thus far.  I look forward in any insight your nutritionist

has told you or whatever you've discovered along your journey into 1derland.

Friday I was 209.  I have another scale that reads 205 but I take that higher #

So, we are close in weight.  I personally weigh in on Mondays and will be posting

the numbers on page one.  Let me know if you want me to add your name there.

And show your weight if you so desire. A visible accountability as part of the Gang.

I do realize woman's weight fluctuates.  So, I don't get too ruffled knowing that fact.

I just has two days of B-day celebration and will resume my program tomorrow.

I had cake yesterday and again today.  No exercise today had some yesterday.

Not bad.  I counted calories and logged.   I'm excited and happy about my

program.  It seems so right on for me and I can only wait and see if it works.

I was thinking ahead tonight that Thanksgiving and Christmas will be days I

take a break from my program.  Allowing sugar if I want it.   Makes it more

special when you wait for the right occasions.
