We can play anywhere between 10-45 mins a time, we run around the garden, play tug o war etc Yes my heart rate increases, sometimes i get more tired out than the puppy I'm pretty good with my food, been counting since last year I eat between 1400-1600, i like to vary it. I'm 24, 5'4" and sadly 162lb. Put on loads of weight when my older dog died.
I tried searching for dog activities but they dont seem to be very clear or dont sound like the activity i'm doing. When he's sleeping i get some house work done then sit in the kitchen while on my laptop. |

Hi, First of all, the puppy is only 1/4 Inuit, the mother was only half. The pups father is a pure bread border collie, which my last dog was. I'm not stupid, i researched the breed before i contacted the owner. After speaking with my vet and a few other breeders i know, as long as the puppy is eating they see no problem in rehoming a little earlier if the mother is too ill to cope. As for time, i'm having to pull out of my college course so will be home 24/7. My older dog had tonnes of problems when we got him but with a little help from watching Cesar Millan i sorted them in no time. I know that taking on a pup will be hard. Thats why i wrote on the forum, I was looking for other dog owners who have brought up a pup and was hoping for some helpful insider tips. I'm greatful for everyones concern, i wouldn't take her if i didnt think i could manage and that she was ready. I contact the owner daily to find out her progress and if she needs the extra time with her mum then i'm quite willing to wait. I'm an animal lover and would never do anything to harm them. |

Thanks guys for all your support. I've started back onto my diet, trying to make the healthier choice. I've even cleared out the spare room which both my mum and me have been putting off for a while. LOL, My neighbour is even taking me to her darts and quiz night. I have a few friends that have really been there for me. I also found out a few truths about my other so called friends, they told me to 'lighten up' and 'try and get out my mood'. Morons. We currently have 2 kittens running around the house so thankfully i'm not having to be in a quiet house at night. I think i'll probably wait until after college finished next year before even thinking about buying another dog. I can now look at pictures of charlie without crying too much. Charlie helped me through a bad time, i look back on the memories we had together and smile. Thanks again guys for all your suggestions and love. |

I didn't get an x-ray. The great thing about the NHS (Scotland) is if they can get away with not doing something they will always pick that option. I had my breathing checked and the doctor quickly checked my ribs, she didn't even touch the bits that actually hurt. Since we can't really access doctors at the weekend i'm having to wait til tomorrow to phone my own doctors surgery, to maybe get an appointment, if their not to busy. Stupid NHS. Meanwhile i'm in pain. All i want to do is curl up and cry but i know that if i do it'll hurt more. I'm supposed to take deep breaths to make sure i don't cause a lung infection but it hurts when i do. |

Mine was yesterday when i went shopping with my mum. I picked out all the size 14 (uk) things i liked then went to try them on. To my amazement they were all too big for me, i had to swap them for a size 12. I now fit perfectly into a size 12, it's taken a long time to get there. I know that if i keep up my effort at the gym ad stick to my diet i'll be able to fit into all my size 10 clothes. Sometimes it used to makes me sad to see my clothes in the wardrobe and know i cant fit into them but now it makes me smile, one day after all my hard work i can wear them. Well done to everyone on their quest for a healthier body and being able to wear clothes that fit.

I've never had a problem with breakfasts before. Yesterday i had 2 Weetabix biscuits with semi skimmed milk, normally that keeps me full but my the time i got my break i was really hungry. So for my break i had 1 slice of toast with 10g of healthy spread, 1 banana and a small glass of milk. Again, by the time lunch came i was hungry, i totally wrecked my diet for the day, i was upset my stomach was bloated, so i had a chips with a Ciabatta roll. I felt guilt about the chips so i added a large spoonful of lettuce to my plate. Strangely enough i wasn't hungry the rest of the day and my bloated stomach went down a bit. Maybe i should have a large breakfast, small snack and a largish lunch while i'm at work. I know you need to eat to fuel your body but i also want to make sure i'm burning it all off. Any ideas for a large quick breakfast? I dont eat/like oatmeal/porridge/eggs, I am a very fussy eater. My mum also pointed out my water intake has severely dropped. Could it be as simple as water retention? I normally try and drink my 2 litres a day but this job means i'm aways on the move. I know i said it cant be because i don't drink enough but now i'm thinking it might be. |

I really don't know what it is. Maybe i should eat a bigger breakfast, really fill up. I normally only eat about 100-200 cals for breakfast. I think tomorrow I'll have Weetabix and semi skimmed milk. I know its not much but its filling and has fibre. Any suggestions on what i should have for a snack? I've been having fruit but maybe i need something thats going to fuel me longer. |

I stopped putting salt on my food and make sure my food is low on sodium. I'm on the pill so my TOM is weeks away. I'm not that regular but I've been like that my whole life and never felt like this. I barely drink 2 litres of water a day so i know it's not because i drink too much. I just dont know whats going on. |

Well done for admitting you have a problem. It takes a strong person to admit they're screwing up and that they want to stop. I too have used alcohol as a way to cope with stressed, i've been depressed for years and the only time i got peace ( or so i thought) was when i drank. Drinking loads does put tonnes of weight on and in the most annoying of places. I can't tell you what to do because it's your life but i can tell you what i would do it your situation. Firstly, talk to your boyfriend, tell him you have a problem and would like his support helping you to stop drinking. Tell him why you want to stop, mostly for yourself but also for him and his little girl. Be honest about everything your thinking and feeling and what triggers your drinking, I'm sure he loves you very much and will help you through it. Secondly, stop putting yourself down, everyone make mistakes. You've make the first step in getting your health back by joining this site. I found this site to be be an amazing help. Everyone here is very friendly and have been through a lot, whether it be ED, parenting, depression or weight loss. No one here will criticize you for trying to sort your life out, thats why were all here. I wish you the best of luck and to keep your head up. You are a strong person, others will see it soon. |

Thanks justlaura, My chest isn't as big as it used to be but i do find some exercises sore. I'm really hoping that running will help slim down my thighs and bum, I could deal with the rest of my body if the lower half wasn't so big. I'm a natural hour glass figure but with the added weight I'm a big pear. Truthfully I'm looking forward to eating a bit more, my boyfriend can eat 2500 calories easy and not gain a lb so i'm looking forward to eating dinner with him. I try to avoid eating with him as i get really depressed at seeing him eat loads and i have to limit myself. |

Thanks for replying. How do i find out the mileage? Should i take my dog out for a walk with a pedometer to calculate how far away a mile is? I'm planning on doing my running outside, i cant afford to go to get gym. Did you find it hard the first time you ran? I've read that the 30/30 works well, jog 30secs/walk 30secs. |

I was going to change my activity level but thought that since i only work 4 hours a day it wouldn't seem right. I get the feeling the activity level refers to people with full time jobs i.e 8 hours a day. I really cant effort to up my calorie intake if I'm not burning it off. I've been at the same weight for over a month now, I'm hoping this job will help kick start my weigh loss again. Thanks for replying |

| Weight Loss | Diet Pills/Fat Burning Tablets....? | May 19 2008 15:20 (UTC) |

I used to take any diet pill that contained Ephedra. It did help me lose weight the first time but my body got used to it and it's not helping this time. once you stop taking them you realize how hungry you are and your body gets really slow, probably because taking Ephedra feels like an adrenaline shot. It does help to suppress your appetite and makes exercise easier to do. I found the head aches and sleepless nights to be annoying but nothing i couldn't handle. I might try them again but at a high dose to help kick start my diet again and some are not as expensive as people make out. It's not really a long term plan. Eating healthy and in moderation works better and is safer for you. I hope that helped. |

I'm sorry to hear your having problems. I too have been on various anti depressant drugs. Citalopram made me gain the most weight, thats why I'm on my new found healthy living kick. The unfortunate thing about most of the depressant/psychotic drugs the doctors hand out is that they seem to have a weight gaining effect for most people, which in it's self is very upsetting. The only anti depressant drug that didn't make me gain weight was Prozac but even at a high dose it wasn't helping me deal with my problem so the doctors changed it. If you feel like you need to talk about anything you don't want to post publicly, just email me. I know what it's like to do things by yourself, even if people around you seem understanding and supportive, it's not the same as talking to people who are going through similar problems. I hope you find a drug that helps and doesn't interfere with your diet. |

I'm at a plateau too. I've been working so hard, i don't understand why the weight has stopped coming off. I don't go over my 1300 calorie mark, i take the dog out twice a day for 30-40 mins, when i come home i get out my mini stepper and work my ass of for 15-25 mins twice a day, i drink plenty of water, i cut out sweets and chocolates, i even got my mum to stop buying cheese since it's my weakness. I've got people around me that are really supportive and tell me I'm losing inches. I just want the scales to tell me it's all worth it. On my bad days i find it very hard to stick to my diet, i suffer from depression so my bad days are like a living hell of complete failure. I don't want to give up but it just seems too hard to keep going. If anyone has anything that can help me I'd be very grateful to hear it. |
