Well Hello newtck! Gosh every 3rd day 24 hrs? What do you do? If you dont mind me asking? That would be hard. But anywho~ I would think being 34 and 205 lbs and 5'7" is enough motivation to start doing something. You dont have to go all freaky and go hard core. Just take things slow. I have learned alot about calories so far and I am still learning about them. Serving size is another big thing. If you can start to cut your serving sizes down and figure out where you would like to be for consuming calories. I go about 1200-1400. There are lots of nice people at cc and dont be afraid to snoop around and you should logg your food on here and see how many calories you consume. I started to walk for 30 mins a night 5 days aweek with my son, and the last week or more I have used my machine ( dont really know what it is called, but I walk on it ) I will get on it while I am watching my shows! Never thought I would be doing that. But any little bit helps. I started to watch my weight on 9/15/08 and as of today I have lost 6lbs. I wish it was alot more but it does take time to loose it. It took a while to gain it and it will take a while to get RID of it! So I wish you best of luck here!! Have a great day!! |

Hi everyone! Sorry I have not been around lately. I want to say Hi to all the NEWBIES! Welcome! I guess I have just been too busy with life to get on here lately. I am in the process of getting estimates on insulation and new siding for my house. I am sick of freezing in the winter. And also getting a few prices on a new furnace since mine is not Efficiant! and I pay way to much to heat my house. 1 guy that was at my house yesterday for the heater said that we could revent a few rooms (my house is way old and was built for military people like over 60 or more years ago) what he was telling me was getting me so excited for winter to come just so I could be warm. I got the estimate today and it was $10,000~ I bout had a heart attack!!! No way ! I cant believe that. So that is why you get estimates! THe first guy said that I couldnt revent my house so now I see why he didnt want me to do it because it would cost me more than I have!!!! So anywho! I hope everyone is still on there road to loosing weight. Last week my mom called me because she was at a rummage sale and found a walking machine ( I dont really know what you would call it ) on the order of a Gazelle thing. I left work and went there and looked at it and yes paid $20.00 for it and I really like it. Now my son and I can still walk when it gets COLD out!!! Well I have to get back to work so I hope you all have a good afternoon! |

I also put mine on the George Foreman Grill with a squeeze of Lemon Juice and I add salmon seasoning. I think it is like a seasoning for grilling. Real good and moist. Nothing special but boy is it good. My son and I do it every week.

I just go with broiling. I also use the George Foreman almost everynight too, but I dont have any good recipes. I just put chicken or burger in it. If you could pass on a new idea for me that would be great! Thanks Crystal |

Good Morning Everyone! I understand about the late night snacks. I used to take ambien at night and I would get up and eat & eat. Thats what helped me to gain like I did. But I believe it is my birth control too that has added to me over the years. But I have cut my calories to about 1200-1400 a day. And my cravings for snacks at night are gone. I no longer take ambien. Stress does a job on me and I cant sleep at night that is when I take it. But I walk after work to help relieve stress and I sleep just wonderfully at night. The colder nights help too. Last night I actually wore gloves and a jacket! I did take the gloves off half way because I warmed upped but it is still cold. This morining they said it was 48 degrees out! Hope you all have a good day!! |

Wow lots of things have changed around here. Newbies have joined us, good things have happened and bad things. But more good than bad. Well I havent posted lately because I fell of track to for a few days. On thursday my mom went to the emergency room well she ended up haveing to have surgery for an appedicidis. That was a late night. She is doing better now. She has had some stomach pain for a while now and just didnt go to the Drs for it. Old fashioned. But she wasnt expecting to have surgery, but she is glad it is done with now. And then the weekend was here. Overtired I was and just not up to snuff. But tomarrow is Moday and it is a new day. So bring it on! I hope you all have a GREAT Monday!!! |

lynnhaslost~ wow you go girl! Taking on such a responsibility you are. It is hard and tough but you hang in there. I think what you are doing is sucha wonderful thing! But yes you should be eating breakfast it is the most important meal of the day. If you cant make it then take it with. Like you can pack it the night before or even if you throw some Kashi in a ziplock bag you can munch on that. Or some breakfast bars just throw them in your purse of bag. And going for a walk while he gets treatments is a good idea also. Then you are getting some exercise in. Hang in there! Take care. |

Blondemama!!! I am from Wisconsin~ I can understand how the stress is building up. It is building up in everyone else too with the way the world is headed now. I hope it gets better soon! So anywho? Why are you just not motivated? If you have stress a good walk should change things for a little while. I have really noticed the leaves starting to fall and how they are chaging color already. I know what you mean about the weight loss too but if you can just get the umph to get out the door that is a big step. I am doing pretty good. Not doing what I said I was going to do with adding water to my diet during the day. I did have 1 bottle today. Does anyone know of a good pedomiter. I got one the other day and it seems to just count even when I am sitting. LOL. Well I will talk to everyone later! |

Vfigg congrats to you on your weight loss so far! Keep it going. Try to think possitive and you are on the right way with deciding to do this for you. You need to think about yourself. And already loosing what you have lost is helping your body out. My father has heart disease and I could get it and so can my son. So I am trying to show him the right way of eating and just getting outside moving helps your body. I am sorry that your husband does not say good things to you. But like one of the other posters said maybe he is just jealous of your weight loss. But you have surrounded yourself with the right kind of people by coming here to cc. Lots of people to talk to and things to read and ideas and so on. We all here will help you out. Take care and think possitive!!! |

I didnt get to walk last night. My boyfriend called me and said he didnt htin that his dog was going to make it and he called the vet. Well Bern is a St. Bernard that is almost 11. We did get him to a vet for emergency care and they kept him overnight. So it was a hard tough night last night. So far we have not heard anything about Bern yet. I prayed for him last night. I just wanted to share that with you all. Because I had to just tell someone. So anyways I will get back on track tonight with a walk. I did weigh myself this morning and I was down 3lbs. 187.4 monday ~ 184.4 this morning. I do have a question. Is it better to eat supper then go for a walk ? Or walk first then eat? I dont know what is better. Can some one help me out. Thanks |

Good Morning Everyone! Ok so now I know what HIIT is ~ Thank you~ I found something that I am going to try out next week. Right now my son and I walk about 35 mins. We added about 15 mins to our usual walk time. But we are going to try to brisk walk for 10 mins. then run 30 seconds and walk for about a min. I found it here on the calorie count site for beginers. I havent weighed myself since monday morning but I do feel better each day. Hope I have lost too. I will weigh myself tomarrow. So far so good. No night snacks~ and trying to add more water. I will check back later! |

Hi there, I usually eat salads everyday for work. I dont go to the grocery store only 1 time a week. I will buy my heads of lettuce and when I get home I put them in big gallon zip lock bags. It seems to keep the lettuce fresher and it lasts alot longer! I will use diffrent things to spice it up. I dont always put on the same things everyday. One day I will put in chicken breast that I cooked the night before. Throw in some black beans, onions, and croutons, and wonton strips. Maybe other days I will put some cheese in it, and I also have these crunchy onions that I put on. Other days I will make a taco salad. I buy a bag of baby carrots and cut a few up each day and add them. There are so many diffrent things to do with a salad. I have been doing that all summer long. Good Luck! |

kthompson92~ I know what you mean with the mini binges. I had 2 little snickers half the size of the mini ones today. But we had like you Chicken on the George Foreman and broccoli with some rice. And did our walk. We did anonther 30 min one tonight. Going to do some exercise on the ball tonight. Seen a couple that I would like to try. Well I hope everyone has a good night! Wow no ones around? Gosh this is hard. I am trying not to have snacks during the day. I already ate my carrots that I brought with. There is a drawer here in my desk that has lots of goodied (bad ones) I could really dig into them right now. They arent mine they are my boyfriends. He just dont understand how hard it is to resist that stuff. He is just a skinnyminnie and only weighs like 135 lbs. and that is all he has ever weighed. He is actually my boss too. Yesterday I didnt have anything here at work to mess up what I am working on. Ate real good last night and had an apple for a snack. So I am trying to do the same today but I am just a bit weak today. I will get another water and try that. Talk to everyone later!! |

1aprilfool ~ what is a HIIT? I do not know what that is. I believe it is abbreviated but for what I cant figure it out. Well the weekend is about over with and another week begins. This week I am going to drink 3 bottles of water a day. That is my goal. I am also adding 10 mins to my walk at night. Hi everyone. I was just reading everyones posts here and was wondering how everyone is going to loose that much by december? What are you changing in your diet? What are you adding? Oh gosh I would love to loose that much by December. But I would like to know how we all are going to do this. I have no doubts about everything or anyone but help me out and let me know how you will do this so I can too. Because anything that I have done all summer long is just not working for me! Thanks |

lynnhaslost~ Good for you being able to get back to cardio! I am glad to hear that you are doing better. r4eboxer~ I am in the same boat as you. I have a desk job too. All I do is sit. I stair at the candy dish that is about 3 ft away from me. And yes I do steal from it once in a while. I just cant help it. Today I was going to bring some baby carrots to work and I was in too much of a hurry and forgot them! Some days it is busy here and some it is slow. I dont get to go out and walk during the day. If I do the deposit I walk, but that is only a block away. I wish I could just go for a quick walk after lunch to wake me up but I cant because sometimes I am the only one here at the shop. I hope everyone has a great afternoon today. |

See I used to eat at night too. After I went to bed I would wake up and go to the bathroom and then I would go to the kitchen and open up the fridge door or the cupboard door. I would do that almost everynight. Also I had a big thing for peanut butter. I loved to take the jar with a spoon. And then a big glass of milk to wash it down. I did break that habbit. It was hard but I did it. So I am working on things to change me. I guess I just want things all done by the time I have to get my bridesmaids dress for my sisters wedding. I am totally not looking forward to that. We tried on dresses last winter and she wants a light yellow dress but OMG not what I want to wear. LOL. Well I have to go again. I will get back to you later! |

Hi blondemama~ I am here. Just thought I would check in with everyone. I havent been on a walk yet this week. This weekend my boyfriend and I canned tomatoe chunks and last night my son and I juiced tomatoes. So tonight I will start cooking it down a bit. I will try and walk tonight. I should because I ate 4 little candy bars from the candy dish for our customers. My tips for me to follow is to drink lots of water. I used to drink more than 6 cans of Mt. Dew a day. And finally one day I got a kidney stone!!! OMG that was the worst and I dont wish it on anyone! Then I started to cut down my soda. And this summer I was drinking 3 bottles a day. Now that is good for me because I NEVER drank water. But I have noticed that I dont drink that much anymore. I should make a batch of tea tonight while I am at the stove. I know I have to drink more. I will try to drink 3 bottles a day this week. I only have 1 Mt. Dew a day now. And I will quit that too soon. Ok I have to get back to work. So I will stop by later! have a good afternoon everyone! |

I am discouraged I guess. I just thought that I would have lost something with the changes that I have made. I really changed the eating habits because my father has heart disease and had 4 stents put in and he still needs more. I could have it and I could pass it onto my son. So I want us to be pointed in the right direction. I think that maybe we will walk 10 mins longer. Start out slow. But the weather here will be getting colder and colder & soon we wont even be able to go outside. But we have to take advantage of it while we can I guess. Just toddler steps now. Not baby ones. LOL. Hi everyone, I would like some more friends to talk to and get some motivation too. (I havent read everyone elses posts but I will after i vent)I am 31 yrs. size 14 but will be a size 16 if I dont get moving. I am a single mother of a 13 yr old. A non-smoker for 224 days. I work full time 40 hrs a week. And I have one soda aday from about a 6 pack or more. I have been a member of Caloriecount but have not been on for months now. This summer I changed how my son and I eat. We each lots of chicken and salmon now. And watch our portion sizes. We eat eggies, switched to 1% milk and and I eat salads at lunch with chicken. We walk or ride bikes at night. I stopped ridding bike because I just feel like I wasnt getting anything from it. So I opted to walk while my son rides. I weighed myself the other day and I was 185 still. I dont have any idea what to do. I have done this for months and no change. I get mad and then just eat. Dont get me wrong ~ I love food~ and that is a problem for me. Because I get into a slump and then I eat what ever I can find. I have stopped buying chips and snacks like that. Went through the phase and bought apples and carrots to eat but that got bland on me. I just dont know what else to do. I dont want to join a gym but can anyone just give me a little advise. |

Well on Monday I weighed 184.4 and havent got back on the scale. I started to change my eating habits a few months ago. I have not lost a thing! I am getting upset. I drink 1 soda a day, eat oatmeal for breakfast and a salad with chicken for lunch, apple or banana for snack in afternoon and dinner veggie, meat ( small ) or chicken and a milk. I like to eat baby carrots too, my son and I walk for 30 mins 4 nights a week and just got my bike going so we can ride together too. I used to eat and eat and gosh I just love food! I also quite smoking and I think that it why I put on some weight too. I also am having back pain too now. I had xrays last week and they couldnt find anything wrong. But that is also why I would like to loose some weight. And my dad had 4 stents put in last week because he has heart disease. I know I can have it and I can pass it to my son so that is another reason why we have tried to make a change. But I am just not loosing and I really would like too. If anyone can give me some inside tips that would be great. Thank you |

I all ~ I am a PB junkie too! I will admit to that. I love it!!!! Spoon fulls with a glass of cold milk!!!! Count me in! I did switch to the Natural kind but I seem to love that too! I am going to get the " Better n ?" the one that was talked about above. I think that is why I am trying to loose the weight because I would get up at night and eat a big spoonfull and go back to bed. I havnt done that in a while but the other night I just had too! I just love it! So I feel your pain too~ I dont want to give it up either but cant find out how not to eat it. If I dont buy it ~ I just make a trip to town and get it but maybe not anymore with gas prices the way they are. |

I quit smoking on January 25, 2008. It has been 131 days of no smoking for me! I am not real sure of my weight before but now it is about 184 lbs. I believe I have gained about 16lbs. I am very frustrated about the weight but I am so glad that I can breath! I am having a harder time with my weight. I have changed my eating habits ~ and cut down to 1 soda (Mt. Dew) a day (from about 4-5). I do go for 30 min walks with my son 4 times a week. We also share the mowing the lawn. We also just put in a bike ride too. Work diffrent muscles. I am just not loosing any weight. I would like to loose about 30lbs total. I just cant believe I havent lost weight now. Sorry just dont understand why.

I have been looking up diffrent ideas for meals but am just having a hard time. Carbs is what is hard to stay away from for me. And for my son. It is hard for him to eat right at school because of school food. I am trying to not make potatoes and pasta but I have never realised how hard it is. Still baby steps though. It all takes time. |
