Hey Ladies!! Long time no type! Last week was a little hectic as I was holding my first Thanksgiving at my house. Weds night had my family over and then Thrusday all the inlaws. So, I was a little crazed all week and really did not make time for myself. I went to the gym Monday and Tuesday, but slacked the rest of the week. I took full advantage of it being a holiday. But because I was running around so much I did not gain anything from last Monday. But I am still up from a couple weeks ago. This morning I was 228.2 :( But that is what I was last Monday. So, back to the gym tonight and no more stuffing, mashed potatoes or pumkin pie in my near future :) I had a great 4 day weekend, but it is time to get serious again- or at least as serious as I can :) I am still up for the "lose 10 by Christmas" if anyone else is in! So, I guess my goal for December 24th (X-mas Eve has lots of good food that I think it would be wise to do the weigh in on the 24th) is 218 even! Lets see how I do! This is a new week and I am ready for action! I hope everyone had a fabulous Thanksgiving and cannot wait to hear from everyone this week! Kristi |

Happy Friday All! Morgan...my thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. Please let us know how everything works out. But great job on the weight loss!! You are moving right along and even through all the stress you are dealing with. Lindsay...great attitude. I wish I could be so confident when I see my numbers go up a little..even though I know the reasons, it is still hard to see. But you are doing great! Keep it up! Laina...your hubby deserves a little after that! LOL Just kidding...kind of! You are doing amazing as well. Keep it going! To everyone else! Another week down...great job at staying motivated and strong and using these tools we have been given! Lets hope that we have a great week to follow! Thanksgiving is on its way, but we do not need to fall off track because of it...well, to be honest I probably will on Thursday..but that does not mean the rest of the week I will not kick some BOOTAY!! Today's Date: Friday, November 21, 2008 Last weeks Weight: 224.6 10% loss = 209.7lbs
This weeks Loss: +1.2lbs Pounds till 1st 10% goal: 16.1lbs Ultimate goal: 170lbs-could probably go lower, but that seems reasonable...first major goal is to pass the 200 mark!! I started off the week very poorly, but got back on track. Still struggling with my food intake. My husband and I just make too good of food. I told him we need to start making things I do not like so I do not eat so much.. lol But I think these next couple of days are going to go very well. Hubby and I have goals for working out everyday and other mini goals to accomplish! So, it is nice to have him by my side with this. Lindsay...I am up for the 10lb challenge by X-mas for sure!! Count me in! Well, hope all have a great weekend!! Kristi |

Hello ladies! Welcome clg5!!Congrats on putting your mind to your goals and "needs" for a healthy lifestyle. As you can see everyone here has the same ideas of what needs to be done. We all have had our rough patches...going up and down in weight, battling the infamous TOM and just the everyday stresses. I think I am still the only one here without children (YET), but it is such a great forum to come and see the progress and motivational tips everyone has to share. Keep up the good work everyone. I think I am back on track from my rough weekend and Monday start. I went to the gym last night and worked hard..burned about 700 calories..according to the machine and came home and ate a healthy meal with the hubby. So, I feel pretty good about yesterday. I should have about a 500 cal deficit for the day. So, I am slowly getting back to it. Back to the gym tonight. I just wish I could get myself to do some strength/weights. Just not sure what to do. But we will see. I need a bit of a change. Well, back to work! Good luck to everyone today!! Kristi |

Well, I am very proud of everyone. I had such a great last week, but have not started very strong this week. The weekend I did ok..had the Badge game on Saturday and tailgated..but we park about a mile away from the stadium so it is a good walk. Plus we walked Lila in the morning about 2 miles. But Sunday...I kind of fell apart. I got so into the Packers killing the Bears that I got a little caught up in my drinks. We all know where that leads. I did not overeat, until yesterday when I was recovering. I fell apart. I ate a ton of pizza and just nibbled all day. I think I ate over 3000 calories easily. I did manage to make it to the gym, but only burned about 450 cals..not enough to make up my disaster of a day. Today I am feeling a little better, but now I know TOM is on his way. So, I think it is going to be a rough week. I woke up a lot heavier than yesterday and it is really bothering me this morning. This is when I tend to fall off. But I brought healthy foods for the day, have chicken breasts out for dinner and have the gym clothes in the car. So, I can only try my best and hope for the best as well. So, lets try and make it a better day!! Good luck this week to everyone! Kristi |

TGIF Everyone!!!! Welcome to Johnnysgirl!! Great job on all the success you have had so far! You are obviously on the right trail to reach the goals you have made!! Keep it up! Also, great job to everyone else this week...not only on the weight loss and excersise, but also the posting everyone has done. I think for me it really has helped me stay motivated. Every morning I look forward to hearing from everyone and how they are doing....the good and bad because we all go through it...that is why we are here. So, on that note: Today's Date: Friday, November 14, 2008 Last weeks Weight: 228.8 10% loss = 209.7lbs
This weeks Loss: -4.2lbs Pounds till 1st 10% goal: 14.9lbs Ultimate goal: 170lbs-could probably go lower, but that seems reasonable...first major goal is to pass the 200 mark!! I felt I had a great week of working out...I have been to the gym every night and have burned at least 600 cals each time. But I think I need to change it up now...the elliptical is getting old and boring. So, I think I may attempt a little running on the treadmill tonight..wish me luck as I will need it :) I had a fairly heavy breakfast dinner last night (eggs, potatoes and chicken). So, that seems to have stayed with me..oh I forgot to mention the couple glasses of wine ( I actually had an hour to myself after the gym..SO NICE) I am not complaining at all though, cuz I feel 4lbs is a huge number and no one should complain with that. I just know next week may be less if any, but I am going to keep on truckin!! Good luck everyone...have a fabulous and fun weekend!! Kristi |

Welcome cc91428 and betterbe!!! We love to see new people join. As you can see this forum is for anyone working towards a goal!! It is either to lose a certain amount by a certain date, a certain amount entirely or just to get some extra motivation. I guess we do put it out to anyone over 200...cuz we all know that is a tough number to get past, but really anyone any size is welcome...just put your current stats and goals!! And then if you feel you want to post daily, weekly or bi-weekly you can do so...if you want to vent..go for it, if you need advice..go for it, if you can give advice...please do!! So, far we have been going for almost 3 weeks now and everyday is a new day and a new challenge. If anyone has any fun ideas to keep us motivated please share...weekly challenges or even daily! Please share with the group! Good lukc to everyone for the last night before tomorrows weigh in!! Keep going strong! Make it a good night! |

Welcome Laina29!! We welcome anyone that wants to join the forum!! The more the merrier! Congrats on your 10.5lb loss so far. That is great. I am in the same boat as my first major goal is to get past the ugly 2's. But I do not have the excuse as to gaining weight from child birth. No kids yet here, but that is partly why I am trying so hard to lose this weight...we want kids soon. We are trying, but I want to make sure I am healthy and feel good when that time comes. And in the mean time I want to have some confidence and higher self esteem as well. So, this morning I weighed in the same 223.6. I knew it could not keep going down so rapidly. Yesterday I ate a little more maintenance and tonight it will be back to having a deficit. I have been to the gym every night so far this week and will be back tonight and tomorrow night. Saturday will be tough as we have the Wisconsin Badger football game to attend to....which means drinks and grilling! Just need to do everything in moderation...right :) Well, back to work! Hope everyone has a great day! Kristi |

Great Job Morgan! You sound like you are really focused. This morning I weighed in at 223.6. I sure hope I am eating correctly cuz I know that if I starve myself this loss will eventually stop and maybe even reverse. But I believe I am tacking my calories correctly and even feel I enter more than I should. BUt I have been working hard at the gym and just protioning things. My concern is I need to add weights, but my shoulders are shot. Because I have been an athlete all my life and almost every sport consisted of using my shoulders especially my right one they are slowly getting worse. I went through PT earlier this year and had an MRI...things got a little better until I started back up with bowling and volleyball. So, I guess I could use some ideas on weight training that would not kill the upper body. I definitely need to work the chest area-perk those babies up :) and get rid of that flabby underarm. I just am scared I will injure myself more. ANY THOUGHTS AND IDEAS are appreciated! Well, here is to another hard day at work :) Kristi Proud2bme-just make sure you take care of yourself and do not push it too much! You will do just fine!! |

Hey All, Sorry I am just logging now. I had a physical this morning and once I got to work it was non-stop. But this morning after showering and even eating an english muffin with peanut butter I was down to 224.6. Not sure what happened, but I hope it stays that way. Last night I had a pretty good cardio workout and this morning the hubby and I walked the pug before the physical. Plus I will be hitting the gym again tonight. So, lets cross our fingers and hope the weight keeps going down. Great job Morgan! Keep up the good work! Hopeeveryone has a good rest of the day! Kristi |

Well, this morning I was back to 228.8. Which is good, cuz yesterday I did not feel well at all and ate some junk. But I hope that I am not getting this cold that feels like it is coming on cuz it makes it hard to exercise...but I have my clothes to go right to the gym after work. If anything I will do 20 minutes on the elliptical and from there see how I feel. Maybe I can sweat this thing out :) Hope everyone has a great successfull week! Kristi |

Good Morning Everyone! TGIF! Well, I had a great week of working out and eating healthy...until last night. I had volleyball with the gang and ended up having a couple beers. Then to follow hubby and I got Chinese food. Granted I had a lighter choice than usual, it is still sitting with me. Yesterday I was down to 225.8, but this morning is a different story. I know that the weight fluctuates and yesterdays weight may not have even been accurate, but I was hoping to be a little lower this week. But at least I am still lower than last Friday...not by much though. Today's Date: Friday, November 7, 2008 Last weeks Weight: 230.2 10% loss = 209.7lbs
This weeks Loss: -1.4lbs Pounds till 1st 10% goal: 19.1lbs Ultimate goal: 170lbs-could probably go lower, but that seems reasonable...first major goal is to pass the 200 mark!! I hope everyone has a great weekend! Stay strong and do not splurge too much!! Lets check back Monday to see how everyones weekend went!! |

Good Morning All!! I had a rough weekend of lots of good food in front of me. But both Sat and Sun my hubby and I took at least a 2 mile walk with the dog. So, I do not feel like a complete loser. I did over eat, but I believe one hard night of working out will take care of the weekend. Plus, my hubby is completely back on board with me...so that should help...healthy dinners and a partner to go to the gym with. It is a start of a new week everyone!! Lets make it another strong one!! Good Luck Morgan with your papers! Hope you got them done! Kristi |

Happy Friday everyone!! Hope you all had a great first week. I feel as though I have been very conscious of what I am in-taking. I have stuck to around 1700-1800 calories a day...with the exception of last night. It was a friends birthday so we went out and celebrated a little after volleyball. But I have gone to the gym every night minus last night where I played vball. So, I think it has been a successful first week. Lets keep things going everyone!!! Kristi Today's Date: Friday, October 31, 2008 Last weeks Weight: 233 10% loss = 209.7

Hey All!!! Morgan...thank you so much for taking the time to put this forum together. I know you and I will keep in touch and do the weigh ins each Friday, but it will be GREAT to have others to conquer these goals with. My name is Kristi . I am a 27 year old married woman. No children YET...but that is a big reason I want and need to lose weight. I am a very active person with a more active appetite. I LOVE food and love to cook with my husband. We are trying to come up with healthier recipes, but some times he is not always on board with that which makes it harder for me to stay on board. So, this site has and will be a savior. STATS: Height: 5'6 Weight: (as of Sunday 10/26) 233lbs 10%: Need to lose/WILL LOSE 23.3lbs I am larger framed and my first big goal is to reach past that 200 mark!! Then I will move to my next big goal!! Small steps is where I need to start. We all know we wish there was a faster healthy way to lose this weight, but ultimately it is a slow process. But in the end it will all be worth it!! So, lets do this together all....and I mean ALL....this does not need to be just for women. Good luck to everyone...can't wait for Friday!!!! Kristi |

Just to add another way to cook potatoes: Grill them!!! My hubby and I do it at least once a week. We poke the potatoes with a fork so they do not explode (lol) and then take evoo and rub all over the potato at sprinkle a little garlic salt on and throw on the grill. We tend to baste them through the grilling process. This way you obviously have a little more salt than you might want...so another flavoring we have done is taken light Italian dressing and baste the potatoes. VERY yummy! Depending on the size of the potato it can take about 25 -45 minutes on the grill. So, this may not be a way to cook if you are in a hurry. But the skins get incredibly crispy and delicious!! We also make a chive and FF plain yogurt with a little garlic to go on the potato instead of butter or sour cream!! They are a must try!!! |

I appreciate all your positive thoughts and ideas!! I needed this tonight! I decided to have a Subway footlong tonight and then a couple beers after volleyball tonight. But I did go to the gym before playing volleyball as well as obviously playing. But I still feel guilty..I hope to wake up with a positive attitude tomorrow. I have worked hard this week. I just am still struggling a little with the food and alcohol intake at points...working out is not the problem. So, time for bed and time to burn the easiest calories of the day!! |
