but whatever anyway. and why did hitler decide to take it for the nazis anyway? it wasnt bad until he came along, right? so whyd he choose it? ali, can you fill this one in, you seem to be a history buff?

yes, but if i was racist my boyfriend wouldnt like me. his  half-brother (brother from another father) is half afriacn american half native (boyfriends native). my parents are german and i hear a few "nazi" comments which really sucks because i am not proud of that part of my heritage.

im equality for all, whether its race, sexual orientation, sex/gender, religous beliefs, we all deserve the same.

On topic: The confederate flag is racist, because so many people these days use as a symbol for racism and white supremacy.

ooooohhhhhhh. dam. i thought only the swastika was still being used as a symbol of white supremacy and stuff. totally unaware the flag was being used for that in this day and age. hahaha pgoregian you were right. :P :P :P <- excessive sue of :Ps to bother p0nda just a little

The flag represents racism, and in my opinion if you thing the flag is a piece of American history then maybe you are racist?

i think its history, but im not racist. i also think the flag is racist, but its still history. racist history. but every flag has a stain on it. some more than others.

Fighter Girl: I'm going to throw this out there. Quit while you're behind. Your lol's and :P faces, and your need to continue commenting despite your complete dearth of knowledge on this matter are even starting to get my back up.

my lols and :P faces are there because without them i think my text would sound meaner, which im not trying for them to. i dont usually use lols and :Ps, especially in excess. and all i did was make one comment about it, got questioned about it, and commented on the questioning of my comment (hope that makes sense) i realize im "behind" but i just wanted to say that i know the SP episode was a parody of the confederate flag. im not saying i know everything about american history, mostly because i dont care about american history. or any history, its not really my thing.
i think this is what really got it going, maybe "if its actually symbolizing the times of slaves than its symbolising racism, but if its symbolizing the old days than its just symbolizing the old days?"

some how that means i know nothing. i mean, if the flags interpreted to represent racism, then it is. but if its interpreted to represent history, then it is. or at least, thats my opinion.

you knew that the south park episode was a parody of something you'd never seen and knew nothing about?

no, i knew it was a parody of the confederate flag, but i didnt know what it looked like. and also what it truly stands for. it could stand for times of slavery or just the old times. i dont know "nothing about it". are you illiterate or something? ive said it like a million times. oops, i said the word "like" again, i hope it doesnt throw u off this time.

i did know that the south park episode was a parody of it.

i didnt know what the flag looks like, nor can i say what the flag ACTUALLY represents. mostly because i dont know much about american history and whether or not the flag actually represents racist times or just old times. is it actually representing racism? then its racist if it is. but if its just a flag representing old times (not just old times when slavery was around but just old times in general) then im not sure whether its racist or not.

its not saying i dont know much about the issue, im just saying that i wasnt there when they came out with the flag, i dont know what they were trying to represent with it. though i dont know all that much about the issue, i do know the basics.

It's not what the flag looks like, fightergirl. It's the years and years and years of racism and oppression that it represents.

yeah, so i figured. i just thought maybe the flag in some way, though im not sure what way i thought it could be, would be degrading or something. lol :P

the fact that your knowledge of the confederate flag and the history of racisim in the american south seems to come solely from south park is a little disturbing. the fact that you suddenly feel qualified to comment on it based on south park is even more disturbing.

i dont base comments on south park. i was just explaining the episode. and no, i dont get all my info on history from southpark. you are a mean one, arent you mr grinch?

no, i said i didnt know what it looked like. by the sound of the topic i assumed the design was insulting or something. thought it was like the flag in south park lol.

and yes, we disagreed on subjects before.

im in ottawa but i know what you mean. bus fare is always going up. for ottawa its like $2 for two tickets (u need two for one ride/transfer, i dont know how it is is toronto) or $3 if u dont have tickets. toronto im assuming would cost more? i dont want prices to go up anymore because i use the bus all the time. maybe us bus riders should organize a bus-rider strike?

"we wont ride until fares subside" lol

well i guess if its actually symbolizing the times of slaves than its symbolising racism, but if its symbolizing the old days than its just symbolizing the old days? i donno, im not much for american history.

this debate/question is in an episode of South Park.
their flag is a picture of one black stick-guy being hanged with 4 white stick-guys and they are cheering. the entire episode is about whether or not they should change the flag. one side says its racist and should be changed, the other says its a part of history and should stay the same.
the school boys (main characters) the entire time didnt see it as racist, because they didnt see it as white stick-guys hanging a black stick-guy. they saw it as simply four stick-guys hanging some other stick-guy.
so unracist they couldnt even see it was racist.

in the end, they made one of the white stick-guys black and changed the colour of two other stick guys, so it was 4 stick-guys (including one black stick-guy) hanging a black stick-guy. so, it wasnt a racist thing anymore because there was a black stick-guy also cheering in the crowd, implying the stick-guy was being hanged for reasons other than race.

i think south park episodes can relate to everything lol.

you can do two cardio and theres nothing wrong with that. but making one weight training wouldnt hurt. but, if thats not your thing than thats not your thing and i dont see an issue with two cardio sessions. two 45 mins is like an hour and a half with a very long break in the middle, so its not like you're over exercising :D
