| Weight Loss | saving on calories through out the week for a splurge day? | May 20 2008 16:11 (UTC) |

I watch the Biggest Loser religiously and I remember Bob doing a little 'info-moment' where he explained that they have the contestants eat their normal restricted calorie diets (1800 I think) throughout the week and give them one splurge day. He said it boosts the metabolism through the next week. I would go for the burgers, although I dont eat red meat, but not cut your caloric intake the other days. Just don't go crazy and eat 10 and you should be fine.

Yea, definitely. I have the 27 oz (but you can get a bigger one) Kleen Kanteen made out of stainless steel w/ the sport top. I also got the BuiltNY cover for it, as the steel keeps the water quite cold. I've had it since Nov and haven't used bottles at all. It stays clean and keeps my drink nice. Good luck. Kristin |

Krrpt08 - they definitely have the right idea. I don't take a bag or box of pack of anything out of my pantry unless it's a single serving package. Everything I go to eat goes into tupperware containers that I can choose any size of. Especially when I pack my lunch it helps me only eat what I've chosen that morning (when I'm sort of sane) to eat. Good luck! |

I agree w/ Nikki on the weight training. Studies show that light weight training 3-5lbs even can give your metabolism a boost and give the body some incentive to burn fat into muscle. Burning the calories on the treadmill is fine, but youre not working your upper body much and you need to be doing a bit of weight training. I would suggest this article to help you get started: http://exercise.about.com/cs/exerciseworkouts /a/weight101.htm I also agree that you need more than 1350 calories a day. Your body will try to hoard fat. Up the calories over 1600 and add weight training as well as treadmill time. Consider going a little faster than you currently walk too, or for longer periods of time as the distance gets easier. Good luck! Kristin |
