I love being able to squeeze between tight spaces--desks, in between people, chairs in back-to-back tables, etc.
I love wearing a smaller bra size. They just DO NOT make cute, supportive bras above DD. But you get a whole new world when you get down to D!
I love having people tell me I look athletic.
I love being able to dance without feeling jiggly in the wrong places.
I LOVE BEING ABLE TO CUDDLE WITH A HAND ON MY TUMMY AND FEEL COMFORTABLE WITH IT. *nods* |

Protein. Im a huge sweet monger when I dont get enough of it, and found that I had to stop my absolute vegetarianism in order to maintain my weight. Eating high-quality poultry has helped A LOT in the curbing of my sweet tooth, same with yogurt (plain european style with honey mixed in and eaten off the spoon you stirred the honey in with--tasty!) and cheese. |

People can be awful. From the looks of your pictures your gorgeous, and even though its hard dont listen to them. I had a similar situation once, not at work but at school. Someone told me the only way that I could beat them at anything would be if I sat on the competition first. Ouch. But still. Keep up the good work, it sounds like your doing great! Other than having ridiculous coworkers of course. |

Original Post by lavinderlja: Eek, be careful with losing weight until your comfortable with what you see in the mirror. This is where a lot of people go wrong, myself included. Be able to step outside yourself and see what you really look like, not what the mirror tells you. Losing weight healthily and slowly helps with this however =) |

You might have worked too hard at the gym. I've found this happening to me lately--you just feel downright awful. Eating tends to help a little bit, namely dry/absorbent foods like bread, crackers...wont lie, even some candy/sugar will help. It'll probably go away in a few hours, but dont be surprised if you do happen to vomit. Try to work less hard at the gym-- I hate hate hate doing that, because I feel like its a workout wasted if I dont go hard (bad logic, I know), but in the end I've tried to keep my heart rate below 170 instead of having it shoot up over 180. It really tends to help. Slow down on your drinking, have a piece of toast and see if you feel any better. |

| Weight Loss | why oh why have i not lost a lb - 4 weeks of diet and exersize? | Nov 10 2009 19:13 (UTC) |

Being 5'9 and 146-147 lbs puts you at a very healthy BMI (21.6). Maybe your non weight loss is telling you that you're already AT your healthy weight, even if its not the weight you want to see yourself at. Also, you might want to try to vary your workout routine--incorporate some toning in addition to just cardio and strength. Try yoga or kickboxing or something one or two days a week for different effects. Personally I think the best body shape changer is rock climbing-- it tones and burns tons of calories. But to each his (or her =D) own. |

To help with your breakfast, try having peanut butter on your toast with a regular sized glass of skim milk. It really, really helps to keep you full! Also, encorporate some snacks during the day, like cheese and nuts. Yes, they are calorie dense. Take them with water and LOTS of veggies! Carrots taste especially good in that mix. |

Original Post by shane_paladin: Not so! Not so at all! Please take another look at what starvation mode is. Personally--although I am no expert-- I think you're fine. If you want to jolt your metabolism vary up your food intake, as you seem to be doing. IE one day take in 1600, then maybe the next day 1800 or 2000 (might want to make that a day you work out ^.^) and then go back to 1600 or 1500, just to try to break your body's routine. |

Original Post by suzosuz: Yeah, I kind of feel that way too. The dairy + the sodium is just KILLER. I never, ever feel good afterward haha. And THANK YOU! I always love a good compliment =D And I had lost about 30 pounds in that picture. I've gained some back, some of it as muscle (took up rock climbing.) I went from 150+ (maybe even 155 =S) to 118. Now I'm in the high 130's low 140's depending on if I'm on my period, but I'd like to get back to that again =) Thank you for helping motivate me haha!
&& I feel the same way about Soda. I never drink it any more. I didn't have a dramatic loss, but it never made me feel marvelous anyway. Carbonated water with a splash of fruit juice might just be the best, most refreshing cold drink ever too.
Thtlola-- I loved that! I've made a few dodgy moves toward the close relatives of various foods too-- hopefully they'll never find out. But I always know that it never feels good to cheat in a relationship and hope to never go back =D =D
A_scoggins-- oh gosh. Bread and I are love-hate too. I try to be a vegetarian, so I end up eating a lot of it. A marvelous replacement for a slice of bread on a sandwich is a big, full leaf of romane lettuce-- it keeps you from having to hold bread on one side and a strange, inconsistent material on the other side. Saves one slice worth's of calories but totally adds up. =D |

My weight did similar things. It came back differently, but I can't say I'm altogether displeased. In short, it could be way worse. I used to be big everywhere, especially in the stomach area. I lost a lot of weight (25 or so pounds) and went from 150 lbs to 118 lbs and lost it all in the tummy and legs, and went down from a 38DDD to a 34 D. My butt probably got smaller but it doesn't really matter haha. I've gained weight, sadly-- I'm 144 lbs, 34-36 DD, size 6 pants. Since I've lost weight I've realized I'm hourglasss...but now I'm small(ish...ive still gained in the tummy =[), bigger in the hips, BIGGER IN BOOBS AND BUTT ---Its not a blessing. I swear. Its awful.-- and bigger in the thighs. So yeah, weight redistributes differently I guess. =S I've also gained a lot in the belly button to knee area, so frusterating! Maybe its fast weight gain that causes that. |

| Vegetarian | Any "laid-back" vegetarians out there? | Oct 21 2009 20:30 (UTC) |

I'm an on-and-off vegetarian. I was full blown veggie last year, but this summer I had to give it up because of the food service program I was entering (hardly any veggie meals, yuck =()) and I've found that I do end up craving certain things--LIKE PULLED PORK. BUT I've found GREAT vegetarian versions of these foods and they keep me very happy and taste pretty much the same. Whole Foods is a great provider of these types of foods =D |

| The Lounge | Female, 4'11", 151 pounds and....morbidly obese? | Oct 21 2009 17:07 (UTC) |

I would NOT say your morbidly obese. I'm only a few inches taller than you- I'm a little shy of 5'0-- and I currently weigh 144. I also have huge boobs and a big butt, not to mention very muscular calves. I'm not entirely pleased with the way I look, but I'm in the same region as you-- I've ALWAYS had a problem with BMI calculators because, even when I was at a totally healthy weight, they'd calculate me as "overweight." Which is astronomically frusterating haha. So I hear ya-- and no, generally BMI calculators dont work so well for folks like us. And 115 will NOT have you labelled as obese, believe me haha. |

I rock climb, knit, do ceramics (VERY challenging! I love it =D And highly suggest it. It can be pricey though!), bake (a good habit if you like gifting your goods haha). I also LOVE plants (because I'm a dork =)) so I tend to my house plants and help out in the garden.I also LOVE tea. My most recommended hobbies: -Rock climbing, so good. -Ceramics. Also very fun and challenging-- just dont give up! -Volunteering. I volunteer at an animal shelter and its marvelous =) |

| Weight Loss | Hungry day? What is this? | Oct 02 2009 16:15 (UTC) |

I agree with GI Jane-- dont start with an entire meal. Eat an apple, but cut it up into very thin slices so that your body has time to process whether or not its full. If its not, maybe eat some carrots, and if you still feel hungry, a banana. Bananas usually fill me up pretty well-- but pair your snack with some tea! (Maybe without creamer or sugar, its better for you that way =) Milk kills the antioxidants.) The warm liquid will help you feel fuller. Or, maybe put some milk into your tea if your drinking black tea--that always feels like a snack or just a filler for me =) |

Wow! Thank you all SO MUCH for your input. I think, judging by your reactions, it might be a good idea to see the doctor =S I do monitor my heart rate when I work out, but I often make my way into the 180-zone, which is probably too high. I have not tried drinking powerade type drinks, but I'll try it before my next intense workout =) If not I guess its time for an appointment with my doctor.... I do have somewhat low blood pressure, but have been told in the past that it was not an issue. Maybe it is an issue now...
Thank you all again! |

I found that my favorite new drink is sparkling water mixed with fruit juice-- at about a 1-3 or 1-5 ratio. (1/4 c juice to 3/4 c water, etc.) Its not calorie free, but in the end the amount of calories I actually have will clock in between 20-50, but I feel way more refreshed with the zing of the fruit juice and the bubblyness of the sparkling water =D It feels quite luxurious actually! |

Walk as much as possible. I find that whenever I go on vacations to Europe ((haha, which isn't too often at all, but I've gone two or three times)) I almost ALWAYS lose weight without even trying just because the living layout is so much more pedestrian friendly. =) |
